² Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am Jehovah your God.

³ After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do; neither shall ye walk in their statutes.

⁴ Mine ordinances shall ye do, and my statutes shall ye keep, to walk therein: I am Jehovah your God.

⁵ Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and mine ordinances; which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am Jehovah.

⁶ None of you shall approach to any that are near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am Jehovah.

⁷ The nakedness of thy father, even the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

⁸ The nakedness of thy father’s wife shalt thou not uncover; it is thy father’s nakedness.

⁹ The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or the daughter of thy mother, whether born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.

¹⁰ The nakedness of thy son’s daughter, or of thy daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness.

¹¹ The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

¹² Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister: she is thy father’s near kinswoman.

¹³ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister: for she is thy mother’s near kinswoman.

¹⁸ And thou shalt not take a wife to her sister, to be a rival to her, to uncover her nakedness, besides the other in her life-time.

¹⁹ And thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is impure by her uncleanness.

²⁰ And thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbor’s wife, to defile thyself with her.

²¹ And thou shalt not give any of thy seed to make them pass through the fire to Molech; neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

²² Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

²³ And thou shalt not lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

²⁴ Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out from before you;

²⁵ and the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land vomiteth out her inhabitants.

⁶ No man shall draw nigh to any of his near kindred to uncover their nakedness; I am the Lord.

⁷ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, for she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

⁸ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's wife; it is thy father's nakedness.

⁹ The nakedness of thy sister by thy father or by thy mother, born at home or abroad, their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.

¹⁰ The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or thy daughter's daughter, their nakedness thou shalt not uncover; because it is thy nakedness.

¹⁷ The nakedness of a woman and her daughter shalt thou not uncover; her son's daughter, and her daughter's daughter, shalt thou not take, to uncover their nakedness, for they are thy kinswomen: it is impiety.

¹⁸ Thou shalt not take a wife in addition to her sister, as a rival, to uncover her nakedness in opposition to her, while she is yet living.

¹⁹ And thou shalt not go in to a woman under separation for her uncleanness, to uncover her nakedness.

²⁰ And thou shalt not lie with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.

²¹ And thou shalt not give of thy seed to serve a ruler; and thou shalt not profane my holy name; I am the Lord.

²² And thou shalt not lie with a man as with a woman, for it is an abomination.

²³ Neither shalt thou lie with any quadruped for copulation, to be polluted with it: neither shall a woman present herself before any quadruped to have connexion with it; for it is an abomination.

²⁴ Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for in all these things the nations are defiled, which I drive out before you,

²⁵ and the land is polluted; and I have recompensed their iniquity to them because of it, and the land is aggrieved with them that dwell upon it.

² “Speak to the Israeli people and tell them that I, Yahweh, say this this: I am Yahweh, your God.

³ So you must do what I want you to do; you must not do the things that the people in Egypt, where you lived previously, do; and you must not do what is done by the people in Canaan, the land to which I am taking you. Do not imitate their behavior.

⁴ You must obey all of my laws DOU, because it is I, Yahweh your God, who am commanding those laws.

⁵ If you obey all my laws and decrees, you will continue to remain alive for a long time. I, Yahweh, am the one who is promising that to you. These are some of my laws:

⁶ Do not have sex with any of your close relatives. It is I, Yahweh, who am commanding that.

⁷ Do not disgrace your father by having sex with your mother DOU.

⁸ Do not have sex with any of your father's other wives, because that would disgrace your father.

⁹ Do not have sex with your sister or your stepsister; it does not matter whether she was born in your house or somewhere else.

¹⁰ Do not have sex with your granddaughter, because that would disgrace you.

¹¹ Do not have sex with your half-sister, because she is your sister.

¹² Do not have sex with your father's sister, because she is your father's close relative.

¹³ Do not have sex with your mother's sister, because she is your mother's close relative.

¹⁴ Do not disgrace your ◄uncle/father's brother►by having sex with his wife, because she is your aunt.

¹⁵ Do not have sex with DOU your daughter-in-law, because she is your son's wife.

¹⁶ Do not have sex with your brother's wife, because that would disgrace your brother.

¹⁷ Do not have sex with the daughter or granddaughter of any woman whom you have previously had sex with; they are her (OR, your) close relatives. Having sex with any of them would be a wicked thing to do.

¹⁸ While your wife is still living, do not marry your wife's sister and have sex with her.

¹⁹ Do not have sex with any woman while she is having her monthly menstrual period.

²⁰ Do not ◄defile yourself/make yourself unacceptable to me► by having sex with someone else's wife.

²¹ Do not give any of your children to be burned to be a sacrifice to the god Molech, because that would show that you do not revere me MTY, Yahweh, your God.

²² No man should have sex with another man; that is detestable.

²³ No one, man or woman, should ◄defile himself/cause himself to become unacceptable to me► by having sex with an animal; that is a perverse act.

²⁴ Do not ◄defile yourselves/cause yourselves to become unacceptable to me► in any of those ways, because doing those things is how the people of the nations that I expelled as you advanced became ◄unacceptable to me/defiled►.

²⁵ They even caused the land to become defiled, so I punished them for their sins, and it was as though the land vomited out the people who lived there.

²⁰ Don't commit any sex act with any other man's wife. This would pollute you and make you unclean.

²⁴ A woman must not give herself to an animal to have sex with it. That is something disgusting. Don't pollute yourselves and make yourselves unclean by doing anything like this. That's the reason I'm expelling these nations from the land—they polluted themselves because of all these practices.

²⁵ Even the land has become polluted, so I am punishing it for the sins committed by the people who live there, and the land will vomit them out.

²⁵ and the land is polluted; and I have recompensed their iniquity to them because of it, and the land is aggrieved with them that dwell upon it.

²⁵ And the land (itself) is contaminated; and I will visit the guilt that is upon it, and the land shall vomit forth the inhabitants.

⁶ No one must sleep with any close relative to uncover his nakedness. I am Yahweh.

⁷ Do not dishonor your father by sleeping with your mother. She is your mother! You must not dishonor her.

⁸ Do not sleep with any of your father's wives; you must not dishonor your father like that.

⁹ Do not sleep with any sister of yours, whether she is the daughter of your father or the daughter of your mother, whether she was raised at your home or distant from you. You must not sleep with your sisters.

¹⁰ Do not sleep with your son's daughter or with your daughter's daughter. That would be your own shame.

¹¹ Do not sleep with your father's wife's daughter, who was born of your father. She is your sister, and you must not sleep with her.

¹² Do not sleep with your father's sister. She is a close relative to your father.

¹³ Do not sleep with your mother's sister. She is a close relative to your mother.

¹⁴ Do not dishonor the brother of your father by sleeping with his wife. Do not go near her for that purpose; she is your aunt.

⁸ Thou shalt not uncover the filth-hood of the wife of thy father, for it is the filthhood of thy father.

⁹ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of thy sister, of father, either of mother, which sister is begotten at home, that is, in wedlock, either withoutforth, that is, out of wedlock.

¹⁰ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of the daughter of thy son, either of thy niece, that is, the daughter of thy daughter, for it is thy filthhood.

¹¹ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of the daughter of the wife of thy father, which she childed to thy father, and she is thy sister.

¹² Thou shalt not open the filthhood of thy father’s sister, for she is the flesh of thy father.

²⁴ Be ye not defoulid in alle these thingis, in whiche alle `folkis, ether hethen men, ben defoulid, whiche folkis Y schal caste out bifor youre siyt,

²⁵ of whiche the lond is defoulid, of which lond Y schal vysyte the grete synnes, that it spewe out hise dwellers.
