Leviticus 14:1-27 in English

¹ And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

² This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: he shall be brought unto the priest:

³ and the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look; and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper,

⁴ then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

⁵ and the priest shall command to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

⁶ As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

⁷ and he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let go the living bird into the open field.

⁸ And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days.

⁹ And it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.

¹⁰ And on the eighth day he shall take two he-lambs without blemish, and one ewe-lamb a year old without blemish, and three tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.

¹¹ And the priest that cleanseth him shall set the man that is to be cleansed, and those things, before Jehovah, at the door of the tent of meeting.

¹² And the priest shall take one of the he-lambs, and offer him for a trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave-offering before Jehovah:

¹³ and he shall kill the he-lamb in the place where they kill the sin-offering and the burnt-offering, in the place of the sanctuary: for as the sin-offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass-offering: it is most holy.

¹⁴ And the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

¹⁵ And the priest shall take of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand;

¹⁶ and the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before Jehovah.

¹⁷ And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass-offering:

¹⁸ and the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah.

¹⁹ And the priest shall offer the sin-offering, and make atonement for him that is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness: and afterward he shall kill the burnt-offering;

²⁰ and the priest shall offer the burnt-offering and the meal-offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

²¹ And if he be poor, and cannot get so much, then he shall take one he-lamb for a trespass-offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth part of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal-offering, and a log of oil;

²² and two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be a sin-offering, and the other a burnt-offering.

²³ And on the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing unto the priest, unto the door of the tent of meeting, before Jehovah:

²⁴ and the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave-offering before Jehovah.

²⁵ And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass-offering; and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

²⁷ and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Jehovah:

⁴ And the priest shall give directions, and they shall take for him that is cleansed two clean live birds, and cedar wood, and spun scarlet, and hyssop.

⁵ And the priest shall give direction, and they shall kill one bird over an earthen vessel over running water.

⁶ And as for the living bird he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the spun scarlet, and the hyssop, and he shall dip them and the living bird into the blood of the bird that was slain over running water.

⁷ And he shall sprinkle seven times upon him that was cleansed of his leprosy, and he shall be clean; and he shall let go the living bird into the field.

⁸ And the man that has been cleansed shall wash his garments, and shall shave off all his hair, and shall wash himself in water, and shall be clean; and after that he shall go into the camp, and shall remain out of his house seven days.

⁹ And it shall come to pass on the seventh day, he shall shave off all his hair, his head and his beard, and his eye-brows, even all his hair shall he shave; and he shall wash his garments, and wash his body with water, and shall be clean.

¹⁰ And on the eighth day he shall take two lambs without spot of a year old, and one ewe lamb without spot of a year old, and three-tenths of fine flour for sacrifice kneaded with oil, and one small cup of oil.

¹¹ And the priest that cleanses shall present the man under purification, and these offerings before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of witness.

¹² And the priest shall take one lamb, and offer him for a trespass-offering, and the cup of oil, and set them apart for a special offering before the Lord.

¹³ And they shall kill the lamb in the place where they kill the whole-burnt-offerings, and the sin-offerings, in the holy places; for it is a sin-offering: as the trespass-offering, it belongs to the priest, it is most holy.

¹⁴ And the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of the person under cleansing, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot.

¹⁵ And the priest shall take of the cup of oil, and shall pour it upon his own left hand.

¹⁶ And he shall dip with the finger of his right hand into some of the oil that is in his left hand, and he shall sprinkle with his finger seven times before the Lord.

¹⁷ And the remaining oil that is in his hand, the priest shall put on the tip of the right ear of him that is under cleansing, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass-offering.

¹⁸ And the remaining oil that is on the hand of the priest, the priest shall put on the head of the cleansed leper, and the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord.

¹⁹ And the priest shall sacrifice the sin-offering, and the priest shall make atonement for the person under purification to cleanse him from his sin, and afterwards the priest shall slay the whole-burnt-offering.

²⁰ And the priest shall offer the whole-burnt-offering, and the sacrifice upon the altar before the Lord; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be cleansed.

²¹ And if he should be poor, and cannot afford so much, he shall take one lamb for his transgression for a separate-offering, so as to make propitiation for him, and a tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a sacrifice, and one cup of oil,

²² and two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, as he can afford; and the one shall be for a sin-offering, and the other for a whole-burnt-offering.

²³ And he shall bring them on the eighth day, to purify him, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of witness before the Lord.

²⁴ And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass-offering, and the cup of oil, and place them for a set-offering before the Lord.

²⁵ And he shall slay the lamb of the trespass-offering; and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and put it on the tip of the right ear of him that is under purification, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot.

²⁵ and he shall kill the lamb of the guilt offering, and the priest shall take of the blood of the guilt offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:

²⁶ and the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand:

²⁷ and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the LORD:

¹ Yahweh also said to Moses/me,

² “These are the regulations for anyone who has been healed of a contagious skin disease.

³ The person must be brought to a priest. The priest will take him outside the camp to where that person has been staying, and examine him. If the skin disease has been healed,

⁴ the priest will say that someone must bring two living birds that are acceptable to Yahweh, along with some cedar wood, some scarlet/red yarn, and some sprigs of ◄hyssop/a very leafy plant►.

⁵ Then the priest will command that one of the birds be killed while it is being held over a clay pot containing water from a spring.

⁶ Then the priest will dip the other bird, along with the cedar wood, the scarlet/red yarn and the hyssop, into the blood of the bird that was killed.

⁷ Then he must sprinkle some of the blood on the person who was healed; he must sprinkle it on him seven times. Then he will declare that the person is permitted to be with other people again. And the priest will release the other bird and allow it to fly away.

⁸ Then the person who was healed must wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe. Then he is allowed to return to the camp, but he must stay outside his tent for seven days.

⁹ On the seventh day, he must again shave off all his hair, including his beard and his eyebrows. Then he must again wash his clothes and bathe, and then he will be allowed to be with other people again.

¹⁰ The next day that person must bring two male lambs and one female lamb that is one-year-old, all of them with no defects. He must also bring six quarts/liters of fine flour, mixed with olive oil, to be an offering, and ◄0.6 pint/0.3 liter► of olive oil.

¹¹ The priest who declares that the person's skin disease is ended must bring that person, and his offerings, to me, Yahweh, at the entrance of the Sacred Tent.

¹² Then the priest must take one of the male lambs and lift it up, along with the olive oil, in front of me, to be a guilt offering— an offering for his being guilty for not giving to me the things that he was required to give me.

¹³ Then the priest must slaughter the lamb in the sacred place where the other sacrifices are offered. Like the offering to enable people to be forgiven, this guilt offering is holy, and belongs to the priest.

¹⁴ The priest must take some of the blood of that animal and pour it on the lobe/tip of the right ear and on the thumb of the right hand and on the big toe of the right foot of the one who has been healed of the skin disease.

¹⁵ Then the priest must take some of the olive oil and pour it in the palm of his own left hand.

¹⁶ Then he must dip the forefinger of his right hand into the oil in his palm, and sprinkle it in front of me seven times.

¹⁷ Then he must put some of the oil that is still in the palm of his hand on the lobe/tip of the right ear and the thumb of the right hand and on the big toe of the right foot of the person who has been healed of the skin disease. He must put it on top of the blood that he has already put on those places.

¹⁸ The remaining oil in his palm must be put on the person's head, to indicate that I declare that the person has been forgiven for having sinned.

¹⁹ Then the priest must slaughter one of the other two animals, to show that the one who has been healed of the skin disease has been forgiven for having sinned, and that he has become acceptable to Yahweh. Then the priest will slaughter the animal that will be completely burned on the altar.

²⁰ He will also put on the altar the offering of grain, to indicate that the person has been forgiven for having sinned. Then that person will be allowed to be with other people again.

²¹ But if the person who has been healed of a skin disease is poor and cannot afford to bring all those animals, he must take to the priest one male lamb to be lifted up to be an offering for his not giving to me the things that he was required to give me. He must also take two quarts/liters of fine flour mixed with olive oil to be an offering made from grain, ◄0.6 pint/0.3 liter► of olive oil,

²² and two doves or two young pigeons, one for him to be forgiven for the sins he has committed, and one to be completely burned on the altar.

²³ On that same day, that person must take those things to the priest at the entrance of the Sacred Tent, to offer them to Yahweh.

²⁴ The priest will take the lamb for the offering for that person not giving to me the things that he was required to give me, along with the olive oil, and lift them up in front of me.

²⁵ Then the priest will slaughter that lamb and drain some of the blood in a bowl, and take some of it and put it on the lobe/tip of the person's right ear and on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot.

²⁶ Then the priest will pour some of the oil into the palm of his left hand,

²⁷ and with his right forefinger he must sprinkle some of the oil from his palm there in my presence.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

² This is the law of the leper: in whatever day he shall have been cleansed, then shall he be brought to the priest.

³ And the priest shall come forth out of the camp, and the priest shall look, and, behold, the plague of the leprosy is removed from the leper.

⁴ And the priest shall give directions, and they shall take for him that is cleansed two clean live birds, and cedar wood, and spun scarlet, and hyssop.

⁵ And the priest shall give direction, and they shall kill one bird over an earthen vessel over running water.

⁶ And as for the living bird he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the spun scarlet, and the hyssop, and he shall dip them and the living bird into the blood of the bird that was slain over running water.

⁷ And he shall sprinkle seven times upon him that was cleansed of his leprosy, and he shall be clean; and he shall let go the living bird into the field.

⁸ and the man that has been cleansed shall wash his garments, and shall shave off all his hair, and shall wash himself in water, and shall be clean; and after that he shall go into the camp, and shall remain out of his house seven days.

⁹ And it shall come to pass on the seventh day, he shall shave off all his hair, his head and his beard, and his eye-brows, even all his hair shall he shave; and he shall wash his garments, and wash his body with water, and shall be clean.

¹⁰ And on the eighth day he shall take two lambs without spot of a year old, and one ewe lamp without spot of a year old, and three-tenths of fine flour for sacrifice kneaded with oil, and one small cup of oil.

¹¹ And the priest that cleanses shall present the man under purification, and these offerings before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of witness.

¹² And the priest shall take one lamb, and offer him for a trespass-offering, and the cup of oil, and set them apart for a special offering before the Lord.

¹³ and they shall kill the lamb in the place where they kill the whole burnt offerings, and the sin-offerings, in the holy places; for it is a sin-offering: as the trespass-offering, it belongs to the priest, it is most holy.

¹⁴ And the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of the person under cleansing, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot.

¹⁵ And the priest shall take of the cup of oil, and shall pour it upon his own left hand.

¹⁶ And he shall dip with the finger of his right hand into some of the oil that is in his left hand, and he shall sprinkle with his finger seven times before the Lord.

¹⁷ And the remaining oil that is in his hand, the priest shall put on the tip of the right ear of him that is under cleansing, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass-offering.

¹⁸ And the remaining oil that is on the hand of the priest, the priest shall put on the head of the cleansed leper, and the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord.

¹⁹ And the priest shall sacrifice the sin-offering, and the priest shall make atonement for the person under purification to cleanse him from his sin, and afterwards the priest shall kill the whole burnt offering.

²⁰ And the priest shall offer the whole burnt offering, and the sacrifice upon the altar before the Lord; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be cleansed.

²¹ And if he should be poor, and can’t afford so much, he shall take one lamb for his transgression for a separate-offering, so as to make propitiation for him, and a tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a sacrifice, and one cup of oil,

²² and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, as he can afford; and the one shall be for a sin-offering, and the other for a whole burnt offering.

²³ And he shall bring them on the eighth day, to purify him, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of witness before the Lord.

²⁴ And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass-offering, and the cup of oil, and place them for a set-offering before the Lord.

²⁵ And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass-offering; and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and put it on the tip of the right ear of him that is under purification, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot.

¹⁷ The priest shall put some of the rest of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering.

¹⁸ The rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh.

¹⁹ “The priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness. Afterward he shall kill the burnt offering;

²⁰ then the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meal offering on the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

²¹ “If he is poor, and can’t afford so much, then he shall take one male lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil;

²² and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.

²³ “On the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh.

³ And the priest is to go outside the tent-circle; and if, after looking, the priest sees that the mark of the disease has gone from him,

⁴ Then the priest is to give orders to take, for him who is to be made clean, two living clean birds and some cedar wood and red thread and hyssop.

⁵ And the priest will give orders for one of the birds to be put to death in a vessel made of earth, over flowing water.

⁶ And he will take the living bird and the wood and the red thread and the hyssop and put them in the blood of the bird which was put to death over flowing water.

⁷ And shaking it seven times over the man who is to be made clean, he will say that he is clean and will let the living bird go free into the open country.

⁸ And he who is to be made clean will have his clothing washed and his hair cut and have a bath, and he will be clean. And after that he will come back to the tent-circle; but he is to keep outside his tent for seven days.

⁹ And on the seventh day he is to have all the hair cut off his head and his chin and over his eyes — all his hair is to be cut off — and he will have his clothing washed and his body bathed in water and he will be clean.

¹⁰ And on the eighth day let him take two male lambs, without any marks on them, and one female lamb of the first year, without a mark, and three tenth parts of an ephah of the best meal, mixed with oil, and one log of oil.

¹¹ And the priest who is making him clean will put the man who is being made clean, together with these things, before the door of the Tent of meeting.

¹² And the priest is to take one of the male lambs and give it as an offering for wrongdoing, and the log of oil, waving them for a wave offering before the Lord;

¹³ And he is to put the male lamb to death in the place where they put to death the sin-offering and the burned offering, in the holy place; for as the sin-offering is the property of the priest, so is the offering for wrongdoing: it is most holy.

¹⁴ And let the priest take some of the blood of the offering for wrongdoing and put it on the point of the right ear of him who is to be made clean, and on the thumb of his right hand and on the great toe of his right foot;

¹⁵ And take some of the oil and put it in the hollow of his left hand;

¹⁶ And let the priest put his right finger in the oil which is in his left hand, shaking it out with his finger seven times before the Lord;

¹⁷ And of the rest of the oil which is in his hand, the priest will put some on the point of the right ear of the man who is to be made clean, and on the thumb of his right hand and on the great toe of his right foot, over the blood of the offering for wrongdoing;

¹⁸ And the rest of the oil in the priest's hand he will put on the head of him who is to be made clean; and so the priest will make him free from sin before the Lord.

¹⁹ And the priest will give the sin-offering, and take away the sin of him who is to be made clean from his unclean condition; and after that he will put the burned offering to death.

²⁰ And the priest is to have the burned offering and the meal offering burned on the altar; and the priest will take away his sin and he will be clean.

²¹ And if he is poor and not able to get so much, then he may take one male lamb as an offering for wrongdoing, to be waved to take away his sin, and one tenth part of an ephah of the best meal mixed with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil;

²⁵ And he will put to death the lamb of the offering for wrongdoing and the priest will take some of the blood of the offering for wrongdoing and put it on the point of the right ear of him who is to be made clean, and on the thumb of his right hand and on the great toe of his right foot;

²⁷ Shaking out drops of oil with his right finger before the Lord seven times:

³ and the priest shall go out of the camp; and when the priest looketh, and behold, the sore of leprosy is healed in the leper,

⁴ then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two clean living birds, and cedar-wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.

⁵ And the priest shall command that one bird be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:

⁶ as to the living bird — he shall take it, and the cedar-wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water;

⁷ and he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.

⁸ And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his garments, and shave all his hair, and bathe in water, and he shall be clean; and afterwards shall he come into the camp, and shall abide outside his tent seven days.

⁹ And it shall come to pass on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair, his head, and his beard, and his eyebrows, even all his hair shall he shave, and he shall wash his garments, and shall bathe his flesh in water, and he is clean.

¹⁰ And on the eighth day he shall take two he-lambs without blemish, and one yearling ewe-lamb without blemish, and three tenth parts of fine flour mingled with oil, for an oblation, and one log of oil.

¹¹ And the priest that cleanseth him shall present the man that is to be cleansed and those things before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

¹² And the priest shall take one he-lamb, and present it for a trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and wave them as a wave-offering before Jehovah.

¹³ And he shall slaughter the he-lamb at the place where the sin-offering and the burnt-offering are slaughtered, in a holy place; for as the sin-offering, so the trespass-offering is the priest's: it is most holy.

²² and two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, as his hand may be able to get: the one shall be a sin-offering, and the other a burnt-offering.

²³ And he shall bring them on the eighth day of his cleansing unto the priest, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, before Jehovah.

²⁴ And the priest shall take the he-lamb of the trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them as a wave-offering before Jehovah.

²⁵ And he shall slaughter the he-lamb of the trespass-offering; and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot.

²⁶ And the priest shall pour of the oil into his, the priest's, left hand,

²⁷ and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Jehovah.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

² This is the rite of a leper, when he is to be cleansed: he shall be brought to the priest:

³ Who going out of the camp when he shall And that the leprosy is cleansed,

⁴ Shall command him that is to be purified, to offer for himself two living sparrows, which it is lawful to eat, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.

⁵ And he shall command one of the sparrows to be immolated in an earthen vessel over living waters:

⁶ But the other that is alive he shall dip, with the cedar wood, and the scarlet and the hyssop, in the blood of the sparrow that is immolated:

⁷ Wherewith he shall sprinkle him that is to be cleansed seven times, that he may be rightly purified: and he shall let go the living sparrow, that it may fly into the field.

⁸ And when the man hath washed his clothes, he shall shave all the hair of his body, and shall be washed with water: and being purified, he shall enter into the camp, yet so that he tarry without his own tent seven days:

⁹ And on the seventh day he shall shave the hair of his head, and his beard and his eyebrows, and the hair of all his body. And having washed again his clothes, and his body,

¹⁰ On the eighth day he shall take two lambs without blemish, and an ewe of a year old without blemish, and three tenths of flour tempered with oil for a sacrifice, and a sextary of oil apart.

¹¹ And when the priest that purifieth the man, hath presented him, and all these things before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony,

¹² He shall take a. lamb, and offer it for a trespass offering with the sextary of oil: and having offered all before the Lord,

¹³ He shall immolate the lamb, where the victim for sin is wont to be immolated, and the holocaust, that is, in the holy place: for as that which is for sin, so also the victim for a trespass offering pertaineth to the priest: it is holy of holies.

¹⁴ And the priest taking of the blood of the victim that was immolated for trespass, shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand and the great toe of his right foot:

¹⁵ And he shall pour of the sextary of oil into his own left. hand,

¹⁶ And shall dip his right finger in it, and sprinkle it before the Lord seven times.

¹⁷ And the rest of the oil in his left band, he shall pour upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand and the great toe of his right foot, and upon the blood that was shed for trespass,

¹⁸ And upon his head.

¹⁹ And he shall pray for him before the Lord, and shall offer the sacrifice for sin: then shall he immolate the holocaust,

²⁰ And put it on the altar with the libations thereof, and the man shall be rightly cleansed.

²¹ But if he be poor, and his hand cannot find the things aforesaid: he shall take a lamb for an offering for trespass, that the priest may pray for him, and a tenth part of hour tempered with oil for a sacrifice, and a sextary of oil,

²² And two turtles or two young pigeons, of which one may be for sin, and the other for a holocaust:

²³ And he shall offer them on the eighth day of his purification to the priest, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony before the Lord.

²⁴ And the priest receiving the lamb for trespass, and the sextary of oil, shall elevate them together.

²⁵ And the lamb being immolated, he shall put of the blood thereof upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and the great toe of his right foot:

²⁶ But he shall pour part of the oil into his own left hand,

²⁷ And dipping the finger of his right hand in it, he shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord:

¹ The Lord told Moses,

² “These are the regulations regarding those who have had a skin disease when they are declared clean having been brought to the priest.

³ The priest must go outside the camp and inspect the person. If the skin disease has healed,

⁴ the priest shall have two ceremonially clean birds brought to him, also some cedar wood, crimson thread, and hyssop, on behalf of the person to be made clean.

⁵ The priest will order one of the birds to be killed over a clay pot filled with fresh water.

⁶ He will take the live bird together with the cedar wood, crimson thread, and hyssop, and dip them in the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water.

⁷ He will use the blood to sprinkle seven times the person being made clean of the skin disease. Then the priest will declare them clean and let the live bird fly away.

⁸ The one being made clean must wash their clothes, shave off all their hair, and wash themselves with water; then they will be will be ceremonially clean. After that they can enter the camp, but they must stay outside their tent for seven days.

⁹ On the seventh day they must shave off all their hair: their head, beard, eyebrows, and the rest of their hair. They must wash their clothes and wash themselves with water, and they will be clean.

¹⁰ On the eighth day they are to bring two male lambs and one female lamb, all a year old and without defects; a grain offering consisting of three-tenths of an ephah of best flour mixed with olive oil, and one ‘log’ of olive oil.

¹¹ The priest who conducts the ceremony will present the person to be made clean to the Lord, along with these offerings, at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

¹² The priest will take one of the male lambs and present it as a guilt offering, together with the log of olive oil; and he will wave them before the Lord as a wave offering.

¹³ Then he will kill the lamb near the sanctuary where the sin offering and burnt offering are killed. The sin offering and the guilt offering belong to the priest; it is most holy.

¹⁴ The priest will put some of the blood from the guilt offering on their right earlobe, on their right thumb, and on the big toe of their right foot of the person being made clean.

¹⁵ The priest will pour some of the log of olive oil into his left palm,

¹⁶ dip his right index finger in it, and using his finger, sprinkle some of the olive oil seven times before the Lord.

¹⁷ The priest will then use some of the rest of the olive oil remaining in his palm on the person being made clean, and put it on top of the blood of the guilt offering. This will be on their right earlobe, on their right thumb, and on the big toe of their right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.

¹⁸ What is left of the olive oil in his palm, the priest will put on the head of the person being made clean and then make them right before the Lord.

¹⁹ The priest will sacrifice the sin offering to make the person right, so that they are now clean from their uncleanness. After that, the priest will kill the burnt offering

²⁰ and offer it on the altar, together with the grain offering, to make them right, and they will be clean.

²¹ But those who are poor and can't afford these offerings must bring one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to make them right, together with a tenth an ephah of best flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of olive oil,

²² and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever they can afford. One is to be used as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering.

²³ On the eighth day they are to take them to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the Lord so they can be made clean.

²⁴ The priest will take the lamb for the guilt offering, together with the log of olive oil, and wave them as a wave offering before the Lord.

²⁵ After he kills the lamb for the guilt offering, the priest will take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one being made clean, on their right thumb, and on the big toe of their right foot.

²⁶ Then the priest will pour some of the olive oil into his left palm

²⁷ and using his right index finger, will sprinkle some of the oil from his left palm seven times before the Lord.

¹ And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

² This is the law of the leper in the day of his clensing: that is, he shall be brought vnto the Priest,

³ And the Priest shall go out of the campe, and the Priest shall consider him: and if the plague of leprosie be healed in the leper,

⁴ Then shall the Priest commaund to take for him that is clensed, two sparrowes aliue and cleane, and cedar wood and a skarlet lace, and hyssope.

⁵ And the Priest shall commaund to kill one of the birdes ouer pure water in an earthen vessell.

⁶ After, he shall take the liue sparowe with the cedar wood, and the skarlet lace, and the hyssope, and shall dip them and the liuing sparowe in the blood of the sparowe slaine, ouer the pure water,

⁷ And hee shall sprinkle vpon him, that must be clensed of his leprosie, seuen times, and clense him, and shall let goe the liue sparowe into the broad fielde.

⁸ Then he that shall be clensed, shall wash his clothes, and shaue off all his heare, and wash himselfe in water, so he shalbe cleane: after that shall he come into the host, but shall tary without his tent seuen dayes.

⁹ So in the seuenth day hee shall shaue off all his heare, both his head, and his beard, and his eye browes: euen all his heare shall he shaue, and shall wash his clothes and shall wash his flesh in water: so he shalbe cleane.

¹⁰ Then in the eight day he shall take two hee lambes without blemish, and an ewe lambe of a yere olde without blemish, and three tenth deales of fine flower for a meate offering, mingled with oyle, and a pint of oyle.

¹¹ And the Priest that maketh him cleane shall bring the man which is to bee made cleane, and those things, before the Lord, at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

¹² Then the Priest shall take one lambe, and offer him for a trespasse offering, and the pint of oyle, and shake the to and from before the Lord.

¹³ And hee shall kill the lambe in the place where the sinne offring and the burnt offring are slaine, euen in the holy place: for as the sinne offring is the Priests, so is the trespasse offring: for it is most holy.

¹⁴ So the Priest shall take of the blood of the trespasse offring, and put it vpon the lappe of the right eare of him that shalbe clensed, and vpon the thumbe of his right hand, and vpon the great toe of his right foote.

¹⁵ The Priest shall also take of ye pint of oyle, and powre it into the palme of his left hand,

¹⁶ And the Priest shall dip his right finger in the oyle that is in his left hand, and sprinkle of the oyle with his finger seuen times before the Lord.

¹⁷ And of the rest of the oyle that is in his hand, shall the Priest put vpon the lap of the right eare of him that is to bee clensed, and vpon the thumbe of his right hand, and vpon the great toe of his right foote, where the blood of the trespasse offring was put.

¹⁸ But the remnant of the oyle that is in the Priests hand, he shall powre vpon the head of him that is to be clensed: so the Priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord.

¹⁹ And the Priest shall offer the sinne offring and make an atonement for him that is to bee clensed of his vncleannesse: then after shall he kill the burnt offring.

²⁰ So the Priest shall offer ye burnt offring and the meat offring vpon ye altar and the Priest shall make an atonement for him: so he shalbe cleane.

²⁷ So ye Priest shall with his right finger sprinkle of the oyle that is in his left hand, seuen times before the Lord.

⁶ As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the string of scarlet yarn, and the hyssop, and he shall dip these and the living bird into the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

⁴ And the priest shall give directions, and they shall take for him that is cleansed two clean live birds, and cedar wood, and spun scarlet, and hyssop.

⁵ And the priest shall give direction, and they shall kill one bird over an earthen vessel over running water.

⁶ And as for the living bird he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the spun scarlet, and the hyssop, and he shall dip them and the living bird into the blood of the bird that was slain over running water.

⁷ And he shall sprinkle seven times upon him that was cleansed of his leprosy, and he shall be clean; and he shall let go the living bird into the field.

⁸ And the man that has been cleansed shall wash his garments, and shall shave off all his hair, and shall wash himself in water, and shall be clean; and after that he shall go into the camp, and shall remain out of his house seven days.

⁹ And it shall come to pass on the seventh day, he shall shave off all his hair, his head and his beard, and his eyebrows, even all his hair shall he shave; and he shall wash his garments, and wash his body with water, and shall be clean.

¹⁰ And on the eighth day he shall take two lambs without spot of a year old, and one ewe lamb without spot of a year old, and three-tenths of fine flour for sacrifice kneaded with oil, and one small cup of oil.

¹¹ And the priest that cleanses shall present the man under purification, and these offerings before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of witness.

¹² And the priest shall take one lamb, and offer him for a trespass offering, and the cup of oil, and set them apart for a special offering before the Lord.

¹³ And they shall kill the lamb in the place where they kill the whole burnt offerings, and the sin offerings, in the holy places; for it is a sin offering: as the trespass offering, it belongs to the priest, it is most holy.

¹⁴ And the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of the person under cleansing, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot.

¹⁵ And the priest shall take of the cup of oil, and shall pour it upon his own left hand.

¹⁶ And he shall dip with the finger of his right hand into some of the oil that is in his left hand, and he shall sprinkle with his finger seven times before the Lord.

¹⁷ And the remaining oil that is in his hand, the priest shall put on the tip of the right ear of him that is under cleansing, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass offering.

¹⁸ And the remaining oil that is on the hand of the priest, the priest shall put on the head of the cleansed leper, and the priest shall make atonement for him before the Lord.

¹⁹ And the priest shall sacrifice the sin offering, and the priest shall make atonement for the person under purification to cleanse him from his sin, and afterward the priest shall slay the whole burnt offering.

²⁰ And the priest shall offer the whole burnt offering, and the sacrifice upon the altar before the Lord; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be cleansed.

²¹ And if he should be poor, and cannot afford so much, he shall take one lamb for his transgression for a separate offering, so as to make propitiation for him, and a tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a sacrifice, and one cup of oil,

²² and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, as he can afford; and the one shall be for a sin offering, and the other for a whole burnt offering.

²³ And he shall bring them on the eighth day, to purify him, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of witness before the Lord.

²⁴ And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the cup of oil, and place them for a set offering before the Lord.

²⁵ And he shall slay the lamb of the trespass offering; and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass offering, and put it on the tip of the right ear of him that is under purification, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot.

⁵ And the priest shall direct that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel with spring water.

⁶ And he shall take the living bird with the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that had been killed over the spring water.

⁷ And he shall sprinkle it on him who is to be cleansed form leprosy seven times, and he shall be clean: and the living bird he shall send forth upon the face of the field.

⁸ And he who is cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself clean with water, and afterward he may come into the camp; but he shall dwell without his tent seven days.

⁹ And on the seventh day he shall (again) shave off all the hair of his head, and his beard and his eyebrows, the whole of his hair shall he shave off, and wash his clothes, and wash his flesh with water, and he shall be clean.

¹⁰ And on the eighth day let him take two (he) lambs unblemished, and one ewe lamb of the year unblemished, and three tenths of flour sprinkled with oil for a mincha, and one loga of oil.

¹¹ And the priest who maketh him clean shall make the man who is cleansed to stand with them before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of ordinance.

¹² And the priest shall take one lamb and offer him for a trespass offering, and the loga of oil, and shall uplift them an elevation before the Lord.

¹³ And he shall slay the lamb on the place where the sin offering is killed, and the burnt offering, (namely,) in the holy place; for as the sin, so the trespass, offering is the priest’s: it is most sacred.

¹⁴ And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him who is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the tow of his right foot.

¹⁹ And the priest shall perform the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is cleansed from his defilement, and afterwards shall he kill the burnt offering.

²⁰ And the priest shall sacrifice the burnt offering with the mincha at the altar, and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

²¹ But should he be a poor man, and his hand have not (so much) pertaining (to him), let him take one lamb for the trespass offering for the elevation to atone for him, and one-tenth of flour sprinkled with oil for the mincha, and a loga of oil

²² And two turtle doves or two young pigeons which his hand may possess; and one shall be the sin offering, and one the burnt offering.

⁴ then the priest shall enjoin them to take for him who is to be cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.

⁵ The priest shall enjoin them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

⁶ As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.

¹⁰ “On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without defect, and one ewe lamb a year old without defect, and three tenths of an ephah three omers; 6.9 q; 6.6 L of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil, and one log 0.65 qt; 0.31 L of oil.

¹¹ The priest who cleanses him shall set the man who is to be cleansed, and those things, before Adonai , at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁹ “The priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness: and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering;

² “This will be the law for the diseased person on the day of his cleansing. He must be brought to the priest.

³ The priest will go out of the camp to examine the person to see if the infectious skin disease is healed.

⁴ Then the priest will command that the one to be cleansed must take two live, clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop.

⁵ The priest will command him to kill one of the birds over fresh water that is in a clay pot.

⁶ The priest will then take the live bird and the cedar wood, and the scarlet yarn and the hyssop, and he will dip all these things, including the live bird, in the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water.

⁷ Then the priest will sprinkle this water seven times onto the person who is to be cleansed from the disease, and then the priest will pronounce him to be clean. Then the priest will release the living bird into the open fields.

⁸ The person who is being cleansed will wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water, and then he will be clean. After that he must come into the camp, but he will live outside his tent for seven days.

⁹ On the seventh day he must shave all his hair off his head, and he must also shave off his beard and eyebrows. He must shave off all his hair, and he must wash his clothes and bathe himself in water; then he will be clean.

¹⁰ On the eighth day he must take two male lambs without blemish, one female lamb a year old without blemish, and three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and one log of oil.

¹¹ The priest who cleanses him will stand the person who is to be cleansed, along with those things, before Yahweh at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

¹² The priest will take one of the male lambs and offer it as a guilt offering, together with the log of oil; he will wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh.

¹³ He must kill the male lamb in the place where they kill the sin offerings and the burnt offerings, in the area of the tabernacle, for the sin offering belongs to the priest, as does the guilt offering, because it is most holy.

¹⁴ The priest will take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of the person who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

¹⁵ Then the priest will take oil from the log and pour it into the palm of his own left hand,

¹⁶ and dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before Yahweh.

¹⁷ The priest will put the rest of the oil in his hand on the tip of the right ear of the person to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. He must put this oil on top of the blood from the guilt offering.

¹⁸ As for the rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand, he will put it on the head of the person who is to be cleansed, and the priest will make atonement for him before Yahweh.

¹⁹ Then the priest will offer the sin offering and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness, and afterward he will kill the burnt offering.

²⁰ Then the priest will offer the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. The priest will make atonement for the person, and then he will be clean.

²¹ However, if the person is poor and cannot afford these sacrifices, then he may take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved, to make atonement for himself, and one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and a log of oil,

²² together with two doves or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; one bird will be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering.

²³ On the eighth day he must bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the entrance to the tent of meeting, before Yahweh.

²⁴ The priest will take the lamb for an offering, and he will take with it the log of olive oil, and he will lift them high as he presents them to Yahweh.

²⁵ He will kill the lamb for the guilt offering, and he will take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of the one who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

²⁶ Then the priest will pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand,

²⁷ and he will sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Yahweh.

²⁵ And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass-offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass-offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

²⁶ And the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand.

²⁷ And the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the LORD:

¹ The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

² “This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought to the priest,

³ and the priest shall go out of the camp. The priest shall examine him. Behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper,

⁴ then the priest shall command them to take for him who is to be cleansed two living clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop.

⁵ The priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

⁶ As for the living bird, he shall take it, the cedar wood, the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.

⁷ He shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird go into the open field.

⁸ “He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days.

⁹ It shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows. He shall shave off all his hair. He shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his body in water. Then he shall be clean.

¹⁰ “On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without defect, one ewe lamb a year old without defect, three tenths of an efah of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with oil, and one log of oil.

¹¹ The priest who cleanses him shall set the man who is to be cleansed, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

¹² “The priest shall take one of the male lambs, and offer him for a trespass offering, with the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.

¹³ He shall kill the male lamb in the place where they kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the place of the sanctuary; for as the sin offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass offering. It is most holy.

¹⁴ The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

¹⁵ The priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand.

¹⁶ The priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD.

¹⁷ The priest shall put some of the rest of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering.

¹⁸ The rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD.

¹⁹ “The priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness. Afterward he shall kill the burnt offering;

²⁰ then the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meal offering on the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

²¹ “If he is poor, and can’t afford so much, then he shall take one male lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth of an efah of fine flour mixed with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil;

²² and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.

²³ “On the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before the LORD.

²⁴ The priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.

³ the which priest shall go out of the tents, and when he shall find that the leprosy is cleansed,

⁴ he shall command to the man that is cleansed, that he offer for himself two quick sparrows, which is leaveful to eat, and cedar wood, and vermilion, that is, a red thread, and hyssop.

⁵ And the priest shall command that one of the sparrows be offered in an earthen vessel upon quick waters;

⁶ soothly he shall dip the tother sparrow quick, with the cedar wood, and with the red thread, and hyssop, in the blood of the sparrow offered,

⁷ with which he shall sprinkle seven times him that shall be cleansed, that he be purged rightfully; and he shall deliver the quick sparrow, that it fly away into the field.

⁸ And when the man hath washed his clothes, he shall shave all the hairs of his body, and he shall be washed in water, and he shall be cleansed, and he shall enter into the tents; so only that he dwell without his tabernacle by seven days;

⁹ and that in the seventh day, he shave the hairs of the head, and his beard, and his brows, and the hairs of all his body. And when his clothes and his body be washed again,

¹⁰ in the eighth day he shall take two lambs without wem, and a sheep of one year without wem, and three dimes, or three tenth parts, of tried wheat flour, into sacrifice, which be sprinkled with oil, and by itself a sextary, or a pint, of oil.

¹¹ And when the priest that purgeth the man, hath set him and all his things before the Lord, in the door of the tabernacle of witnessing,

¹² he shall take a lamb, and shall offer it for trespass, and shall offer the pint of oil; and when all things be offered before the Lord,

¹³ he shall offer the lamb, where the sacrifice for sin and the burnt sacrifice is wont to be offered, that is, in the holy place; for as for sin, so and for trespass, the offering pertaineth to the priest; it is holy of holy things.

¹⁴ And the priest shall take of the blood of the sacrifice which is offered for trespass, and shall put on the last part of the right ear of him which is cleansed, and on the thumbs of the right hand and foot.

¹⁵ And he shall put of the pint of oil into his left hand,

¹⁶ and the priest shall dip his right finger therein, and he shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord.

¹⁷ Soothly he shall pour that that is left of the oil in the left hand, on the last part of the right ear of him which is cleansed, and on the thumbs of the right hand and foot, and on the blood which is shed for trespass,

¹⁸ and on his head.

¹⁹ And the priest shall pray for him before the Lord, and shall make sacrifice for sin;

²⁰ then the priest shall offer the burnt sacrifice, and he shall put it in the altar with his flowing sacrifices, and the man shall be cleansed rightfully.

²¹ That if he is poor, and his hand may not find those things that be said, he shall take for his trespass a lamb to the offering, that the priest pray for him, and the tenth part of tried wheat flour sprinkled altogether with oil, into sacrifice, and a pint of oil,

²² and two turtles, either two culver birds, of which one shall be for sin, and the tother into burnt sacrifice;

²³ and he shall offer those or them in the eighth day of his cleansing to the priest, at the door of the tabernacle of witnessing, before the Lord.

²⁴ And the priest shall take the lamb offered for trespass, and the pint of oil, and he shall raise or rear them up together;

²⁵ and when the lamb is offered, he shall put of the blood thereof on the last part of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and on the thumbs of his right hand and foot.

²⁶ Soothly the priest put the part of oil into his own left hand,

²⁷ in which he shall dip the finger of his right hand, and he shall sprinkle it seven times against or before the Lord;

¹ And the Lord spake to Moses, and said,

³ the which priest shall go out of the tents, and when he shall find that the leprosy is cleansed, (which priest shall take him away from the tents, and examine him, and if he shall find that the leprosy is healed,)

⁴ he shall command to the man that is (to be) cleansed, that he offer for himself two quick sparrows, which is leaveful to eat, and cedar wood, and vermilion, that is, a red thread, and hyssop. (he shall command to the man who is to be pronounced clean, that he offer for himself two living sparrows, which be lawful to eat, and cedar wood, and a red thread, and hyssop.)

⁵ And the priest shall command that one of the sparrows be offered in an earthen vessel upon quick waters; (And the priest shall command that one of the sparrows be offered in an earthen, or a clay, vessel filled with fresh water;)

⁶ soothly he shall dip the tother sparrow quick, with the cedar wood, and with the red thread, and hyssop, in the blood of the sparrow (that was) offered, (and then he shall dip the other living sparrow, and the cedar wood, and the red thread, and the hyssop, in the blood of the sparrow that was offered,)

⁷ with which he shall sprinkle seven times him that shall be cleansed, that he be purged rightfully; and he shall deliver the quick sparrow, that it fly away into the field. (with which he shall sprinkle seven times him who shall be pronounced clean, so that by this rite he be cleansed; and then he shall release the living sparrow, so that it can fly away into the field.)

⁸ And when the man hath washed his clothes, he shall shave all the hairs of his body, and he shall be washed in water, and he shall be cleansed, and he shall enter into the tents; so only that he dwell without his tabernacle by seven days; (And when the man hath washed his clothes, he shall shave off all the hair of his body, and he shall wash in water, and so he shall be made clean, and then he can return to the tents; but he must live outside his own tent for seven days;)

⁹ and that in the seventh day (or and then on the seventh day), he (shall) shave (again) the hairs of the head, and his beard, and his brows, and the hairs of all his body. And when his clothes and his body be washed again,

¹⁰ in the eighth day he shall take two lambs without wem, and a sheep of one year without wem, and three dimes, or three tenth parts, of tried wheat flour, into sacrifice, which be sprinkled with oil, and (also take) by itself a sextary, or a pint, of oil. (on the eighth day he shall take two lambs without blemish, or without fault, and a sheep of one year without blemish, or without fault, and three tenths of an ephah of fine wheat flour for a grain offering, which shall be sprinkled with oil, and also a pint of oil.)

¹¹ And when the priest that purgeth the man, hath set him and all his things before the Lord, in the door of the tabernacle of witnessing (or at the entrance to the Tabernacle of the Witnessing),

¹² he shall take a lamb, and shall offer it for trespass, and shall (also) offer the sextary of oil; and when all things be offered before the Lord, (he shall take the lamb for the trespass offering, and also the pint of oil; and when all these things be presented as a special gift before the Lord,)

¹³ he shall offer the lamb, where the sacrifice for sin and the burnt sacrifice is wont to be offered, that is, in the holy place; for as for sin, so and for trespass, the offering pertaineth to the priest; it is holy of holy things. (he shall offer the lamb, where the sin offering and the burnt sacrifice be offered, that is, in the holy place; for the trespass offering, like the sin offering, belongeth to the priest; it is a most holy, or sacred, thing.)

¹⁴ And the priest shall take of the blood of the sacrifice which is offered for trespass, and shall put on the last part of the right ear of him which is (to be) cleansed, and on the thumbs of the right hand and foot. (And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and shall put it on the lobe of the right ear of him who is to be pronounced clean, and on the thumb of his right hand, and the great toe of his right foot.)

¹⁵ And he shall put (some) of the pint of oil into his (own) left hand,

¹⁶ and the priest shall dip his right finger therein, and he shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord.

¹⁷ Soothly he shall pour that that is left of the oil in the left hand, on the last part of the right ear of him which is (to be) cleansed, and on the thumbs of the right hand and foot, and on the blood which is shed for trespass, (And he shall put some of the oil that is still in his left hand, on the lobe of the right ear of him who is to be pronounced clean, and on the thumb of his right hand, and the great toe of his right foot, on top of the blood of the trespass offering,)

¹⁸ and (then pour the rest of the oil) on(to) his head.

¹⁹ And the priest shall pray for him before the Lord, and shall make sacrifice for sin (or and shall offer the sin offering);

²⁰ then the priest shall offer the burnt sacrifice, and he shall put it in the altar with his flowing sacrifices, and the man shall be cleansed rightfully. (then the priest shall offer the burnt sacrifice, and he shall put it on the altar with the grain offering, and by this rite the man shall be made clean.)

²¹ That if he is poor, and his hand may not find those things that be said, he shall take for his trespass a lamb to the offering, that the priest pray for him, and the tenth part of tried wheat flour sprinkled (al)together with oil, into sacrifice, and a sextary of oil, (But if he is poor, and his hand cannot find those things that be said above, he shall take a lamb for his trespass offering, as a special gift to the Lord, for the priest who shall pray for him, and the tenth part of an ephah of fine wheat flour sprinkled with oil, for the grain offering, and a pint of oil,)

²² and two turtles, either two culver birds, of which one shall be for sin, and the tother into burnt sacrifice; (and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, of which one shall be for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt sacrifice;)

²³ and he shall offer those in the eighth day of his cleansing to the priest, at the door of the tabernacle of witnessing, before the Lord. (and he shall bring them on the eighth day of his cleansing to the priest, at the entrance to the Tabernacle of the Witnessing, before the Lord.)

²⁴ And the priest shall take the lamb offered for trespass, and the sextary of oil, and shall raise (them up) together; (And the priest shall take the lamb for the trespass offering, and the pint of oil, and shall raise them up as a special gift before the Lord;)

²⁵ and when the lamb is offered, he shall put of the blood thereof on the last part of the right ear of him that is (to be) cleansed, and on the thumbs of his right hand and foot. (and when the lamb is offered, he shall put some of its blood on the lobe of the right ear of him who is to be pronounced clean, and on the thumb of his right hand, and the great toe of his right foot.)

²⁶ Soothly the priest (shall) put the part of (the) oil into his own left hand, (Then the priest shall put some of the oil into his own left hand,)

²⁷ in which he shall dip the finger of his right hand, and he shall sprinkle it seven times against the Lord (or and he shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord);

¹ And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, This is the custom of a leprouse man,

² whanne he schal be clensid. He schal be brouyt to the preest,

³ which preest schal go out of the castels, and whanne he schal fynde that the lepre is clensid,

⁴ he schal comaunde to the man which is clensid, that he offre for hym silf twei quyke sparewis, whiche it is leueful to ete, and a `tree of cedre, and vermylyoun, and isope.

⁵ And the preest schal comaunde that oon of the sparewes be offrid in `a vessel of erthe,

⁶ on quyke watris; sotheli he schal dippe the tother sparewe quyk with the `tre of cedre, and with a reed threed and ysope, in the blood of the sparewe offrid,

⁷ with which he schal sprenge seuensithis hym that schal be clensid, that he be purgid riytfuli; and he schal delyuere the quyk sparewe, that it fle in to the feeld.

⁸ And whanne the man hath waische hise clothis, he schal schaue alle the heeris of the bodi, and he schal be waischun in watir, and he schal be clensid, and he schal entre in to the castels; so oneli that he dwelle without his tabernacle bi seuene daies;

⁹ and that in the seuenthe dai he schaue the heeris of the heed, and the beerd, and brewis, and the heeris of al the bodi. And whanne the clothis and bodi ben waischun,

¹⁰ eft in the eiyetithe dai he schal take twei lambren without wem, and a scheep of o yeer without wem, and thre dymes of wheete flour, in to sacrifice, which be spreynte with oile, and bi it silf a sextarie of oyle.

¹¹ And whanne the preest, that purgith the man, hath set hym and alle hise thingis bifor the Lord, in the dore of the tabernacle of witnessyng, he schal take a lomb,

¹² and schal offre it for trespas, and schal offre the sextarie of oyle; and whanne alle thingis ben offrid bifor the Lord,

¹³ he schal offre the lomb, where the sacrifice for synne and the brent sacrifice is wont to be offrid, that is, in the hooli place; for as for synne so and for trespas the offryng perteyneth to the preest; it is hooli of the noumbre of hooli thingis.

¹⁴ And the preest schal take of the blood of sacrifice which is offrid for trespas, and schal putte on the laste part of the riyt eere `of hym which is clensid, and on the thumbis of the riyt hond and foot.

¹⁵ And he schal putte of the sextarie of oyle in to his left hond,

¹⁶ and he schal dippe the riyt fyngur therynne, and schal sprynge seuensithis bifor the Lord.

¹⁷ Sotheli he schal schede that that is residue of the oile in the left hond, on the laste part of the riyt eere `of hym which is clensid, and on the thombis of the riyt hond and foot, and on the blood which is sched for trespas,

¹⁸ and on the heed `of hym.

¹⁹ And the preest schal preye for hym bifor the Lord, and schal make sacrifice for synne; thanne he schal offre brent sacrifice,

²⁰ and schal putte it in the auter with hise fletynge sacrifices, and the man schal be clensid riytfuli.

²¹ That if he is pore, and his hoond may not fynde tho thingis that ben seid, he schal take for trespas a lomb to offryng, that the preest preie for him, and the tenthe part of wheete flour spreynt togidire with oile in to sacrifice, and a sextarie of oile,

²² and twei turtlis, ethir twei `briddis of culueris, of whiche oon be for synne, and the tothir in to brent sacrifice;

²³ and he schal offre tho in the eiytthe dai of his clensyng to the preest, at the dore of tabernacle of witnessyng bifor the Lord.

²⁴ And the preest schal take the lomb for trespas, and the sextarie of oile, and schal reise togidere;

²⁵ and whanne the lomb is offrid, he schal putte of the blood therof on the laste part of the riyt eere `of hym that is clensid, and on the thumbis of his riyt hond and foot.

²⁶ Sotheli the preest putte the part of oile in to his left hond,

²⁷ in which he schal dippe the fyngur of the riyt hond, and schal sprynge seuensithes ayens the Lord;

¹ And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

² 'This is a law of the leper, in the day of his cleansing, that he hath been brought in unto the priest,

³ and the priest hath gone out unto the outside of the camp, and the priest hath seen, and lo, the plague of leprosy hath ceased from the leper,

⁴ and the priest hath commanded, and he hath taken for him who is to be cleansed, two clean living birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.

⁵ 'And the priest hath commanded, and he hath slaughtered the one bird upon an earthen vessel, over running water;

⁶ as to the living bird, he taketh it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and hath dipped them and the living bird in the blood of the slaughtered bird, over the running water,

⁷ and he hath sprinkled on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and hath pronounced him clean, and hath sent out the living bird on the face of the field.

⁸ 'And he who is to be cleansed hath washed his garments, and hath shaved all his hair, and hath bathed with water, and hath been clean, and afterwards he doth come in unto the camp, and hath dwelt at the outside of his tent seven days.

⁹ 'And it hath been, on the seventh day — he shaveth all his hair, his head, and his beard, and his eyebrows, even all his hair he doth shave, and he hath washed his garments, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and hath been clean.

¹⁰ 'And on the eighth day he taketh two lambs, perfect ones, and one ewe-lamb, daughter of a year, a perfect one, and three tenth deals of flour for a present, mixed with oil, and one log of oil.

¹¹ 'And the priest who is cleansing hath caused the man who is to be cleansed to stand with them before Jehovah, at the opening of the tent of meeting,

¹² and the priest hath taken the one he-lamb, and hath brought it near for a guilt-offering, also the log of oil, and hath waved them — a wave offering before Jehovah.

¹³ 'And he hath slaughtered the lamb in the place where he slaughtereth the sin-offering and the burnt-offering, in the holy place; for like the sin-offering the guilt-offering is to the priest; it is most holy.

¹⁴ 'And the priest hath taken of the blood of the guilt-offering, and the priest hath put on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot;

¹⁵ and the priest hath taken of the log of oil, and hath poured on the left palm of the priest,

¹⁶ and the priest hath dipped his right finger in the oil which is on his left palm, and hath sprinkled of the oil with his finger seven times before Jehovah.

¹⁷ 'And of the residue of the oil which is on his palm, the priest putteth on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, on the blood of the guilt-offering;

¹⁸ and the remnant of the oil which is on the palm of the priest, he putteth on the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest hath made atonement for him before Jehovah.

¹⁹ 'And the priest hath made the sin-offering, and hath made atonement for him who is to be cleansed from his uncleanness, and afterwards he doth slaughter the burnt-offering;

²⁰ and the priest hath caused the burnt-offering to ascend, also the present, on the altar, and the priest hath made atonement for him, and he hath been clean.

²¹ 'And if he is poor, and his hand is not reaching these things, then he hath taken one lamb — a guilt-offering, for a wave-offering, to make atonement for him, and one-tenth deal of flour mixed with oil for a present, and a log of oil,

²² and two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, which his hand reacheth to, and one hath been a sin-offering, and the one a burnt-offering;

²³ and he hath brought them in on the eighth day for his cleansing unto the priest, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, before Jehovah.

²⁴ 'And the priest hath taken the lamb of the guilt-offering, and the log of oil, and the priest hath waved them — a wave-offering before Jehovah;

²⁵ and he hath slaughtered the lamb of the guilt-offering, and the priest hath taken of the blood of the guilt-offering, and hath put on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot;

²⁶ and the priest doth pour of the oil on the left palm of the priest;

²⁷ and the priest hath sprinkled with his right finger of the oil which is on his left palm, seven times before Jehovah.
