²⁰ All winged creeping things that go upon all fours are an abomination unto you.

²¹ Yet these may ye eat of all winged creeping things that go upon all fours, which have legs above their feet, wherewith to leap upon the earth;

²² even these of them ye may eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind.

²³ But all winged creeping things, which have four feet, are an abomination unto you.

²⁴ And by these ye shall become unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcass of them shall be unclean until the even;

²⁵ and whosoever beareth aught of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

²⁰ And all winged creatures that creep, which go upon four feet, are abominations to you.

²¹ But these ye shall eat of the creeping winged animals, which go upon four feet, which have legs above their feet, to leap with on the earth.

²² And these of them ye shall eat: the caterpillar and his like, and the attacus and his like, and the cantharus and his like, and the locust and his like.

²³ Every creeping thing from among the birds, which has four feet, is an abomination to you.

²⁴ And by these ye shall be defiled; every one that touches their carcases shall be unclean till the evening.

²⁵ And every one that takes of their dead bodies shall wash his garments, and shall be unclean till the evening.

²⁰ All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

²¹ But you are permitted to eat creatures with wings that sometimes walk on the ground if they have jointed legs for hopping around.

²² They include locusts, crickets, and grasshoppers.

²³ But you must detest and not eat other insects with wings that have four legs.

²⁴ There are certain creatures that if you touch their carcasses you will become defiled. Anyone who touches their carcasses must not touch other people until that evening.

²⁵ Anyone who picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes and not touch other people until that evening.

²⁰ And all winged creatures that creep, which go upon four feet, are abominations to you.

²⁴ By these you will be made unclean; anyone touching their dead bodies will be unclean till evening:

²⁵ Whoever takes away the dead body of one of them is to have his clothing washed, and will be unclean till evening.

²⁰ Every winged crawling thing that goeth upon all four shall be an abomination unto you.

²¹ Yet these shall ye eat of every winged crawling thing that goeth upon all four: those which have legs above their feet with which to leap upon the earth.

²² These shall ye eat of them: the arbeh after its kind, and the solam after its kind, and the hargol after its kind, and the hargab after its kind.

²³ But every winged crawling thing that hath four feet shall be an abomination unto you.

²⁴ And by these ye shall make yourselves unclean; whoever toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

²⁵ And whoever carrieth ought of their carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even.

²⁰ Of things that fly, whatsoever goeth upon four feet, shall be abominable to you.

²¹ But whatsoever walketh upon four feet, but hath the legs behind longer, wherewith it hoppeth upon the earth,

²² That you shall eat, as the bruchus in its kind, the attacus, and ophiomachus, and the locust, every one according to their kind.

²³ But of dying things whatsoever hath four feet only, shall be an abomination to you:

²⁴ And whosoever shall touch the carcasses of them, shall be defiled, and shall be unclean until the evening:

²⁵ And if it be necessary that he carry any of these things when they are dead, he shall wash his clothes, and shall be unclean until the sun set.

²⁰ All flying insects that crawl are repulsive to you.

²¹ But you can eat the following kinds of flying insects that crawl: those that have jointed legs they use to jump.

²² So in this category you can eat any kind of locust, bald locust, cricket, or grasshopper.

²³ All other flying insects that crawl are repulsive to you,

²⁴ and will make you unclean. If you touch their dead bodies you will be unclean until the evening,

²⁵ and if you pick up one of their dead bodies you must wash your clothes, and you will be unclean until the evening.

²⁰ Also euery foule that creepeth and goeth vpon all foure, such shalbe an abomination vnto you.

²¹ Yet these shall ye eate: of euery foule that creepeth, and goeth vpon all foure which haue their feete and legs all of one to leape withal vpon the earth,

²² Of them ye shall eate these, the grashopper after his kinde, and the solean after his kinde, the hargol after his kinde, and the hagab after his kind.

²³ But al other foules that creepe and haue foure feete, they shalbe abomination vnto you.

²⁴ For by such ye shalbe polluted: whosoeuer toucheth their carkeis, shalbe vncleane vnto the euening.

²⁵ Whosoeuer also beareth of their carkeis, shall wash his clothes, and be vncleane vntil euen.

²⁰ All winged swarming things that go upon all fours are a detestable thing unto you.

²¹ Yet these may ye eat of all winged swarming things that go upon all fours, which have jointed legs above their feet, wherewith to leap upon the earth;

²² even these of them ye may eat: the locust after its kinds, and the bald locust after its kinds, and the cricket after its kinds, and the grasshopper after its kinds.

²³ But all winged swarming things, which have four feet, are a detestable thing unto you.

²⁴ And by these ye shall become unclean; whosoever toucheth the carcass of them shall be unclean until even.

²⁵ And whosoever beareth aught of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

²⁴ And through these shall ye be rendered unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcass of them shall be unclean until the evening;

²⁵ And whosoever beareth aught of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.

²⁴ and whoever toucheth their bodies dead by themselves, shall be polluted, or defouled, and shall be unclean till to eventide;

²⁵ and if it is need, that he bear any dead thing of these or them, he shall wash his clothes, and he shall be unclean till to the going down of the sun.

²⁰ All thing of fowls that goeth on four feet, shall be abominable to you; (All creatures with wings, that is, insects, that go upon four feet, shall be abominable to you;)

²¹ soothly whatever thing goeth on four feet, but hath longer hips behind, by which it skippeth on the earth (or by which it leapeth upon the ground), ye shall eat;

²² as is a bruchus, that is, the fruit of locusts before it hath wings, in his kind, and (an) accatus, that is, the fruit of locusts when it beginneth to have wings, and (an) ophimachus, that is, a foul enemy to serpents, and a locust, all by their kind.

²³ Forsooth whatever thing of birds (that) hath four feet only, it shall be abominable to you; (But all other creatures with wings that hath four feet, they shall be abominable to you;)

²¹ sotheli what euer thing goith on foure feet, but hath lengere hipis bihynde, bi whiche it skippith on the erthe, ye schulen ete;

²² as is a bruke in his kynde, and acatus, and opymacus, and a locuste, alle bi her kynde.

²³ Forsothe what euer thing of briddis hath foure feet oneli, it schal be abhomynable to you;

²⁴ and who euer touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be defoulid, and `schal be vnclene `til to euentid;

²⁵ and if it is nede, that he bere ony deed thing of these, he schal waische his clothis, and he schal be vnclene til to the goyng doun of the sunne.

²⁰ 'Every teeming creature which is flying, which is going on four — an abomination it is to you.

²¹ 'Only — this ye do eat of any teeming thing which is flying, which is going on four, which hath legs above its feet, to move with them on the earth;

²² these of them ye do eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the beetle after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind;

²³ and every teeming thing which is flying, which hath four feet — an abomination it is to you.

²⁴ 'And by these ye are made unclean, any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean till the evening;

²⁵ and anyone who is lifting up aught of their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening: —
