²⁷ Peter therefore denied again: and straightway the cock crew.

²⁸ They lead Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Prætorium: and it was early; and they themselves entered not into the Prætorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the passover.

²⁹ Pilate therefore went out unto them, and saith, What accusation bring ye against this man?

³⁰ They answered and said unto him, If this man were not an evil-doer, we should not have delivered him up unto thee.

³¹ Pilate therefore said unto them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

³² that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should die.

²⁷ Peter then denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed.

²⁸ Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium. It was early morning. They themselves didn’t go into the Praetorium, so that they wouldn’t be defiled, and so that they might eat the Passover supper.

²⁹ So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges do you bring against this man?”

³⁰ They answered, “If this man wasn’t a criminal, we wouldn’t have handed him over to you.”

³¹ Then Pilate told them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your Law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It’s illegal for us to put anyone to death.”

³² This happened so that the words would be fulfilled which Jesus had spoken indicating the kind of death he was going to die.

²⁷ Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.

²⁸ Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.

²⁹ Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?

³⁰ They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.

³¹ Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

³² That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.

²⁹ Pilate therefore went out unto them, and saith, What accusation bring ye against this man?

³¹ Pilate therefore said unto them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

²⁷ Peter again denied it. Immediately a rooster crowed, as Jesus had said would happen.

²⁸ Then the Jewish leaders SYN led Jesus from the home of Caiaphas to the headquarters of Pilate, the Roman governor. It was before dawn. Pilate was a non-Jew, and they thought that if they entered his headquarters, they would become unacceptable to God {God would reject them}, and as a result they would not be able to eat the food during the Passover celebration. Because of that, they did not want to enter Pilate's headquarters.

²⁹ So Pilate came out to talk to them. He said, “What law do you say that this man has disobeyed?”

³⁰ They knew that Jesus had not disobeyed any Roman law, so they did not want to answer him. Instead, they said, “If this man were not a criminal, we would not have brought him to you!”

³¹ Then Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your own laws!” Then the Jewish leaders SYN said, “ No! We want him executed, but we want you Romans to execute him, because we Jews have no right to execute anyone!”

³² The Romans executed people by nailing them to a cross. So, as a result of what the Jewish leaders said, it was fulfilled { the Romans would fulfill} what Jesus had said previously about the way he was going to die.

²⁸ They led Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn’t enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

²⁸ So they took Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the Praetorium. It was early. They themselves did not go into the Praetorium, so that they might not become unclean, but might take the Passover.

²⁹ So Pilate came out to them and put the question: What have you to say against this man?

³⁰ They said to him in answer, If the man was not a wrongdoer we would not have given him up to you.

³¹ Then Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and let him be judged by your law. But the Jews said to him, We have no right to put any man to death.

³² (That the word of Jesus might come true, pointing to the sort of death he would have.)

²⁷ Peter denied therefore again, and immediately the cock crew.

²⁸ They lead therefore Jesus from Caiaphas to the praetorium; and it was early morn. And they entered not into the praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but eat the passover.

²⁸ Early in the morning they took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. The Jewish leaders didn't enter the palace because if they did they would be ceremonially defiled, and they wanted to be able to eat the Passover meal.

²⁹ So Pilate came out to meet them. “What charge are you bringing against this man?” he asked.

³⁰ “If he wasn't a criminal, we would not have handed him over to you,” they answered.

³¹ “Then you take him and judge him according to your law,” Pilate told them. “We're not permitted to execute anyone,” the Jews answered.

³² This fulfilled what Jesus had said about how he would die.

²⁷ Peter then denied againe, and immediatly the cocke crewe.

²⁸ Then led they Iesus from Caiaphas into the common hall. Nowe it was morning, and they themselues went not into the common hall, least they should be defiled, but that they might eate the Passeouer.

²⁹ Pilate then went out vnto them, and said, What accusation bring yee against this man?

³⁰ They answered, and saide vnto him, If hee were not an euill doer, we woulde not haue deliuered him vnto thee.

³¹ Then sayde Pilate vnto them, Take yee him, and iudge him after your owne Lawe. Then the Iewes sayde vnto him, It is not lawfull for vs to put any man to death.

³² It was that the worde of Iesus might be fulfilled which he spake, signifying what death he should die.

²⁸ They led Yeshua Salvation therefore from Caiaphas Rock that hollows itself out into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn’t enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Pesac ·Passover· meal (Nissan 14).

²⁹ Pilate Armed with javelin therefore went out to them, and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?”

³⁰ They answered him, “If this man was not an evildoer, we wouldn’t have delivered him up to you.”

³¹ Pilate Armed with javelin therefore said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews Praisers said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,”

³² that the word of Yeshua Salvation might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.

²⁷ One of the servauntes of the hye preste (his cosyn whose eare Peter smote of) sayde vnto him: dyd not I se the in the garden with him?

²⁸ Peter denyed it agayne: and immediatly the cocke crewe.

²⁹ Then led they Iesus from Cayphas into the hall of iudgement. It was in the mornynge and they them selves went not into the iudgement hall lest they shuld be defyled but that they myght eate the paschall lambe.

³⁰ Pylate then went out vnto the and sayde: what accusacion bringe ye agaynste this man?

³¹ They answered and sayd vnto him. If he were not an evyll doar we wolde not have delyvered him vnto the.

³¹ Then Pilate saith to them, Take ye him, and deem ye him, after your law. And the Jews said to him, It is not leaveful to us, to slay any man;

³² that the word of Jesus should be fulfilled, which he said, signifying by what death he should die.

²⁷ And Peter again denied, and anon the cock crew. (And again Peter denied it, and at once the cock crowed.)

²⁸ Then they led Jesus to Caiaphas, into the moot hall; and it was early, and they entered not into the moot hall, that they should not be defouled, but that they should eat pask. (And then they led Jesus from Caiaphas, to the Hall of Judgement, at the Governor’s palace; and it was early in the morning, and they did not enter into the Hall of Judgement at the Governor’s palace, so that they would not be defiled, and then they could still eat the Passover.)

²⁹ Therefore Pilate went out withoutforth to them, and said, What accusing bring ye against this man? (And so Pilate went outside to them, and said, What accusation, or what charge, do ye make against this man?)

³⁰ They answered, and said to him, If this were not a mis-doer, we had not betaken him to thee. (They said to him, If he were not a wrong-doer, we would not have delivered him, or we would not have brought him, to thee.)

³¹ Then Pilate saith to them, Take ye him, and deem ye him, after your law. And the Jews said to him, It is not leaveful to us, to slay any man; (Then Pilate said to them, Take him, and judge him yourselves, according to your Law. And the Jews said to him, It is not lawful for us, to kill any man;)

³² (so) that the word of Jesus should be fulfilled, which he said, signifying by what death he should die.

²⁷ And Petre eftsoone denyede, and anoon the cok crew.

²⁸ Thanne thei ledden Jhesu to Cayfas, in to the moot halle; and it was eerli, and thei entriden not in to the moot halle, that thei schulden not be defoulid, but that thei schulden ete pask.

²⁹ Therfor Pilat wente out with outforth to hem, and seide, What accusyng brynge ye ayens this man?

³⁰ Thei answeriden, and seiden to hym, If this were not a mysdoere, we hadden not bitakun hym to thee.

³¹ Thanne Pilat seith to hem, Take ye hym, and deme ye him, after youre lawe. And the Jewis seiden to hym, It is not leueful to vs to sle ony man;

³² that the word of Jhesu schulde be fulfillid, whiche he seide, signifiynge bi what deth he schulde die.
