2 And (the) knights wreathed a crown of thorns, and set (it), or put (it), on his head, and did about him a cloth of purple, and came to him, (And the soldiers wove, or plaited, a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and did about him a cloak of purple, and came to him,)
3 and said, Hail, king of Jews. And they gave to him buffets. (and said, Hail, King of the Jews! And they gave him blows on his head and his body.)
4 Again Pilate went out, and said to them, Lo! I bring him out to you, that ye know, that I find no cause (or crime worthy of death) in him. (And Pilate went out again, and said to them, Behold! I bring him back out to you now, so that ye know, that I find no case against him.)
