Therefore Mary took a pound of ointment of true nard or spikenard precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hairs; and the house was full-filled with the savour of the ointment.
Therefore Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, that was to betray him, said,
Why is not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to poor men? (Why is this ointment not sold for three hundred pennies, and that given to the poor?)
But he said this thing, not for it pertained to him of needy men, but for he was a thief, and had the purses, and bare those things that were sent (into them), (or and carried off whatever was put into them).
Therefore Jesus said, Suffer ye her, that into the day of my burying she keep that (which is left); (And so Jesus said, Allow her, or Let her, do this, so that on the day of my burial she can use what is left;)
for ye shall (for)evermore have poor men with you, but ye shall not (for)evermore have me. (for ye shall always have the poor with you, but ye shall not always have me.)
