²⁸ These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

²⁹ On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man who is become before me: for he was before me.

³¹ And I knew him not; but that he should be made manifest to Israel, for this cause came I baptizing in water.

³² And John bare witness, saying, I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven; and it abode upon him.

³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize in water, he said unto me, Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding upon him, the same is he that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.

³⁴ And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.

³⁵ Again on the morrow John was standing, and two of his disciples;

³⁶ and he looked upon Jesus as he walked, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God!

³⁷ And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

³⁸ And Jesus turned, and beheld them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? And they said unto him, Rabbi (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), where abidest thou?

³⁹ He saith unto them, Come, and ye shall see. They came therefore and saw where he abode; and they abode with him that day: it was about the tenth hour.

⁴⁰ One of the two that heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

⁴¹ He findeth first his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being interpreted, Christ).

⁴² He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of John: thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, Peter).

⁴³ On the morrow he was minded to go forth into Galilee, and he findeth Philip: and Jesus saith unto him, Follow me.

⁴⁴ Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

²⁸ This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

²⁹ The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Look! God’s Lamb who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is the One I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me is preferred before me because He existed before me.’

³¹ I didn’t know Him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that He might be revealed to Israel.”

³² John testified, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from Heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.

³³ I wouldn’t have known Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘Whoever you see the Spirit descending upon, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Son.”

³⁵ The next day, John again stood with two of His disciples.

³⁶ When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, God’s Lamb!”

³⁷ The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.

³⁸ Jesus turned, and seeing them following, asked them, “What are you looking for?” They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which, when translated, means Teacher), “Where are You staying?”

³⁹ He told them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and spent that day with Him. It was about the tenth hour.

⁴⁰ Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus.

⁴¹ The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother, Simon, and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, translated, the Christ).

⁴² Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You will be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter).

⁴³ The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he told him, “Follow me.”

⁴⁴ Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found Him who Moses in the Law, and also the prophets, wrote about — Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

⁴⁶ Nathanael asked Philip, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip told Nathanael, “Come and see.”

²⁸ Those things happened at a place called Bethany, on the east side of the Jordan River, where John was baptizing people.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him. He said to the people, “Look! Here is the man whom God has appointed to be a sacrifice MET, like the lambs that the people of Israel sacrificed! By sacrificing himself he will make it possible for everyone in the world to be no longer guilty for having sinned.

³⁰ He is the one about whom I said before, ‘Someone will come later who is more important than I am, since he existed long before me.’

³¹ I myself did not previously recognize that he was the Messiah. But now I know who he is, and I have baptized people with water to enable you people of Israel to recognize who he is.”

³² John spoke clearly what God had shown him about Jesus. He said, “I saw God's Spirit as he was descending from heaven in the form of a dove. The Spirit remained on Jesus.

³³ I myself did not know previously that he was the Messiah. However, God sent me to baptize people with water, people who said they wanted to turn from their sinful ways. While I was doing that, God told me, ‘The man on whom you will see my Spirit descend and remain is the one who will put the Holy Spirit within you (pl) to truly change your lives.’

³⁴ I saw the Spirit descend on him, and I tell you that he is ◄the Son of God/the person who is both God and man►.”

³⁵ The next day John was at the same place again ◄with two of us/with two of his disciples►.

³⁶ When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look! There is the man God has appointed to be a sacrifice, like the lambs MET the people of Israel have sacrificed!”

³⁷ ◄When we/those two disciples► heard John say this, we/they went with Jesus.

³⁸ Jesus turned around and saw us/them coming behind him. So he asked us/them, “What do you want?” We/They replied, “Teacher, tell us where you are staying, because we want to talk with you.”

³⁹ He replied, “Come with me, and you will see where I am staying!” So we/they went with him and saw where he was staying. We/They stayed with him until about 4 o'clock (OR, from about 4 PM until the next day).

⁴⁰ ◄One of us/One of the two men► who heard what John had said and who went with Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter's younger brother.

⁴¹ After Andrew left Jesus, the first thing he did was to find his own older brother Simon and say to him, “We have found the Messiah!”

⁴² Then he took Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked intently at him, and then said, “You are Simon. Your father's name is John. You will be given { I will give you} the name Cephas.” Cephas is an Aramaic name that means ❛solid rock❜. It means the same in Greek as the name Peter.

⁴³ The next day Jesus decided to leave the Jordan River valley. He went to Galilee district and (OR, on the way there he) found a man named Philip. Jesus said to him, “Come with me!”

⁴⁴ Philip and Andrew and Peter were all from Bethsaida town.

⁴⁵ Then Philip searched for Nathaniel and found him, and said to him, “We have met the Messiah, the one Moses wrote about! The prophets also prophesied that he would come. He is Jesus, from Nazareth town. His father's name is Joseph.”

⁴⁶ Nathaniel replied, “Nazareth? ◄Nothing good can come from such an unimportant place!/Can anything good come from such an unimportant place?► RHQ” Philip replied, “Come and see!”

³¹ I myself had no knowledge of him, but I came giving baptism with water so that he might be seen openly by Israel.

³² And John gave this witness, saying, I saw the Spirit coming down from heaven like a dove and resting on him.

³³ I had no knowledge who he was, but he who sent me to give baptism with water said to me, The one on whom you see the Spirit coming down and resting, it is he who gives baptism with the Holy Spirit.

³⁴ This I saw myself and my witness is that he is the Son of God.

³⁵ The day after, John was there again with two of his disciples;

³⁶ And looking at Jesus while he was walking he said, See, there is the Lamb of God!

³⁷ Hearing what he said, the two disciples went after Jesus.

³⁸ And Jesus, turning round, saw them coming after him and said to them, What are you looking for? They said to him, Rabbi (which is to say, Master), where are you living?

³⁹ He said to them, Come and see. They went with him then and saw where he was living; and they were with him all that day: it was then about the tenth hour of the day.

⁴⁰ Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two men who, hearing what John said, went after Jesus.

⁴¹ Early in the morning he came across his brother and said to him, We have made discovery! It is the Messiah! (which is to say, the Christ).

⁴² And he took him to Jesus. Looking at him fixedly Jesus said, You are Simon, the son of John; your name will be Cephas (which is to say, Peter).

⁴³ The day after this, Jesus had a desire to go into Galilee. He came across Philip and said to him, Come and be my disciple.

⁴⁴ Now Philip's town was Beth-saida, where Andrew and Peter came from.

⁴⁵ Philip came across Nathanael and said to him, We have made a discovery! It is he of whom Moses, in the law, and the prophets were writing, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

⁴⁶ Nazareth! said Nathanael, Is it possible for any good to come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him, Come and see.

³⁹ He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and they stayed with Him that day. It was about the tenth hour.

⁴⁰ One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ).

⁴² And he led him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which means Peter).

⁴³ On the next day He wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.”

⁴⁴ Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found the One about whom Moses wrote in the Law and the Prophets—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

²⁸ These things happened in Bithabara, across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

²⁹ The next day John sees Jesus coming toward him and says: “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is now ahead of me, because He existed before I did.’

³¹ I did not know Him; but so that He should be revealed to Israel, that is why I came baptizing with water.”

³² And John testified saying: “I observed the Spirit coming down like a dove out of heaven, and He rested upon Him.

³³ Now I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water, He said to me, ‘The One upon whom you see the Spirit coming down and resting—this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ So I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

³⁵ Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples.

³⁶ And seeing Jesus walking by, he says, “Look, the Lamb of God!”

³⁷ The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

³⁸ So turning and observing them following Jesus says to them, “What do you want?” So they said to Him, “Rabbi” (which translated means ‘Teacher’), “where are You staying?”

³⁹ He says to them, “Come and see.” So they went and saw where He was staying, and stayed with Him that day—it was about the tenth hour.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus approaching him, and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man who is coming after me is more important than me, for before I ever existed he already was.’

³¹ I didn't know myself who he was, but I came baptizing with water so that he could be revealed to Israel.”

³² John gave his evidence about him, saying, “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove and rest upon him.

³³ I wouldn't have known him except he who sent me to baptize with water had told me, ‘The one you see the Spirit descend to and rest upon, he is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ I saw it happen and I declare that this is the Son of God.”

³⁵ The next day John was standing there with two of his disciples.

³⁶ He saw Jesus passing by, and said, “Look! This is the Lamb of God!”

³⁷ When the two disciples heard what he said they went and followed Jesus.

³⁸ Jesus turned round and saw them following him. “What are you looking for?” he asked them. “Rabbi (which means ‘Teacher’), where are you staying?” they asked in reply.

³⁹ “Come and see,” he told them. So they went with him and saw where he was staying. It was about four p.m., and they spent the rest of the day with him.

⁴⁰ Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of these two disciples who had heard what John said and followed Jesus.

⁴¹ He went at once to find his brother Simon and told him, “We've found the Messiah!” (which means “Christ”).

⁴² He took him to Jesus. Looking directly at Simon, Jesus said, “You are Simon, son of John. But now you will be called Cephas,” (which means “Peter”).

⁴³ The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. Jesus found Philip there, and told him, “Follow me.”

⁴⁴ Philip was from Bethsaida, the same town that Andrew and Peter came from.

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We've found the one that Moses wrote about in the law and that the prophets did too—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

⁴⁶ “From Nazareth? Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael wondered. “Just come and see,” Philip replied.

⁴¹ He first found his own brother, Simeon Hearing, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah Anointed one!” (which is, being interpreted, Moshiach ·Anointed one·).

⁴² He brought him to Yeshua Salvation. Yeshua Salvation looked at him, and said, “You are Simeon Hearing the son of Jonah Dove. You shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, Peter Rock).

⁴³ On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee District, Circuit, and he found Philip Loves horses. Yeshua Salvation said to him, “Follow me.”

⁴⁴ Now Philip Loves horses was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew Manly and Peter Rock.

⁴⁵ Philip Loves horses found Nathanael Given by God, and said to him, “We have found the one that Moses Drawn out wrote about in the Torah ·Teaching·, and the Prophets— it is Yeshua Salvation son of Joseph May he add from Nazareth Branch, Separated one.”

⁴⁶ Nathanael Given by God said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth Branch, Separated one?” Philip Loves horses said to him, “Come and see.”

³¹ I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came baptising in water, that he would be revealed to Israel.”

³² John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.

³³ I didn’t recognise him, but he who sent me to baptise in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptises in the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

³⁵ Again, the next day, John was standing with two of his disciples,

³⁶ and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”

³⁷ The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

³⁸ Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”

³⁹ He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.

⁴⁰ One of the two who heard John and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

⁴¹ He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is, being interpreted, Christ).

⁴² He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, Peter).

⁴³ On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”

⁴⁴ Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

⁴⁶ Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

²⁸ These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming to him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world.

³⁹ He saith to them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

⁴¹ He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith to him, We have found the Messiah; which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

⁴³ The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith to him, follow me.

⁴⁴ Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him, We have found him described by Moses in the law, and by the prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith to him, Come and see.

²⁹ The next day, he saw Yeshua coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

And they came, and saw where he lived; and remained with him that day. And it was about four o’clock in the afternoon.)

⁴⁰ And Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the twain, that heard of John, and had (pur)sued him. (And Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two, who had heard that from John, and had followed him.)

⁴¹ This found first his brother Simon, and he said to him, We have found Messias, that is to say, Christ; (And at once he found his brother Simon, and he said to him, We have found the Messiah, that is to say, the Christ;)

⁴² and he led him to Jesus. And Jesus beheld him, and said, Thou art Simon, the son of Johanna (or the son of John); thou shalt be called Cephas, that is to say, Peter.

³⁸ And Jesus having turned, and having beheld them following, saith to them, 'What seek ye?' and they said to them, 'Rabbi, (which is, being interpreted, Teacher,) where remainest thou?'

³⁹ He saith to them, 'Come and see;' they came, and saw where he doth remain, and with him they remained that day and the hour was about the tenth.

⁴⁰ Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard from John, and followed him;

⁴¹ this one doth first find his own brother Simon, and saith to him, 'We have found the Messiah,' (which is, being interpreted, The Anointed,)

⁴² and he brought him unto Jesus: and having looked upon him, Jesus saith, 'Thou art Simon, the son of Jonas, thou shalt be called Cephas,' (which is interpreted, A rock.)

⁴³ On the morrow, he willed to go forth to Galilee, and he findeth Philip, and saith to him, 'Be following me.'

⁴⁴ And Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter;

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him, 'Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the prophets, we have found, Jesus the son of Joseph, who is from Nazareth;'

⁴⁶ and Nathanael said to him, 'Out of Nazareth is any good thing able to be?' Philip said to him, 'Come and see.'
