John 10:25-40 in American Standard Version (1901)

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believe not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, these bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father, who hath given them unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
30 I and the Father are one.
31 The Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),
36 say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.
39 They sought again to take him: and he went forth out of their hand.
40 And he went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was at the first baptizing; and there he abode.

John 10:25-40 in God's Living Word

25 Jesus answered, “I told you, but you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name testify about me,
26 but you don’t believe, because you aren’t of my sheep.
27 My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow me.
28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one is able to snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and my Father are one.”
31 Therefore the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.
32 Jesus answered, “I showed you many good works from the Father. For which of them are you stoning me?”
33 The Jews answered Him, “We aren’t stoning you for a good work, but for blasphemy, because You, being a man, claim to be God.”
34 Jesus answered, “Isn’t it written in your Law, ‘I said, “You are gods”’?
35 If he, who God’s word came to, called them gods, (and the Scripture can’t be broken),
36 do you say of Him who the Father set apart and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?
37 If I don’t do my Father’s works, then don’t believe me.
38 But if I do them, even if you don’t believe me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”
39 Therefore they were trying again to seize Him, and He escaped from their grasp.
40 Jesus went away again across the Jordan to the place where John was first baptizing, and He was staying there.

John 10:25-40 in Translation for Translators

25 Jesus answered them, “I have told you that I am the Messiah, but you do not believe me! You should know who I am because of the miracles I do with my Father's authority MTY.
26 But instead, you do not believe in me because you do not belong to me. You are like MET sheep who belong to a different shepherd.
27 Just like sheep heed the voice of their true shepherd MET, my people pay attention to what I say. I know them, and they have become my disciples.
28 I will give them eternal life. No one will separate them from me, not ever. No one shall ever pull them away from belonging to me.
29 Those that my Father has given to me are more precious than anything else (OR, My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than anything that opposes them). So no one can pull them away from belonging to him MTY.
30 My father and I are equal.”
31 The Jewish leaders SYN again picked up stones to throw at Jesus and kill him because they were angry at his saying that he was equal with God.
32 But Jesus said to them, “You have seen me perform many miracles that my Father told me to do. You should realize from seeing them that I am equal with God. So, because of which of these miracles IRO are you wanting to kill me by throwing stones at me?”
33 The Jewish leaders SYN replied, “We are wanting to throw stones at you not because you performed a great miracle. Instead, we are wanting to do it because you are dishonoring God. You are just a man, but you are saying that you are God!”
34 Jesus replied to them, “In the Scriptures it is written {◄ someone/the Psalmist► has written} RHQ what God said to the rulers whom he had appointed, ‘I have said that you are like gods.’
35 God said that to those leaders when he appointed them. No one objected to that. And nothing that is in Scripture can be set aside {no one can set aside anything that is in Scripture}.
36 But I am the one my Father set apart to completely belong to him. He sent me here into this world. So ◄why are you angry with me for saying that I am equal with God when I say that I am the man who is also God?/you should not be angry with me for saying that I am equal with God when I say that I am the person who is both God and man!► RHQ
37 If I were not doing the miracles that my Father told me to do, I would not expect you to believe in me.
38 But because I perform these miracles, believe what these miracles show about me, even though you do not believe what I say. If you do that, then you will know and understand that my Father has a close relationship with me, and I have a close relationship with my Father.”
39 After they heard that, they tried to seize him again, but he got away from them.
40 Then Jesus went, along with us, back across to the east side of the Jordan River. We went to the place where John was previously baptizing people. He/We stayed there for a few weeks.

John 10:25-40 in Bible in Basic English

25 Jesus said in answer, I have said it and you have no belief: the works which I do in my Father's name, these give witness about me.
26 But you have no belief because you are not of my sheep.
27 My sheep give ear to my voice, and I have knowledge of them, and they come after me:
28 And I give them eternal life; they will never come to destruction, and no one will ever take them out of my hand.
29 That which my Father has given to me has more value than all; and no one is able to take anything out of the Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to send at him.
32 Jesus said to them in answer, I have let you see a number of good works from the Father; for which of those works are you stoning me?
33 This was their answer: We are not stoning you for a good work but for evil words; because being a man you make yourself God.
34 In answer, Jesus said, Is there not a saying in your law, I said, You are gods?
35 If he said they were gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Writings may not be broken),
36 Do you say of him whom the Father made holy and sent into the world, Your words are evil; because I said, I am God's Son?
37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not have belief in me;
38 But if I am doing them, then have belief in the works even if you have no belief in me; so that you may see clearly and be certain that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.
39 Then again they made an attempt to take him; but he got away from them.
40 And he went again to the other side of the Jordan, to the place where John first gave baptism; and he was there for a time.

25 Jesus answered them: “I did tell you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name—these testify concerning me.
26 But you do not believe because you are not among my sheep, just like I told you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

30 I and the Father are one.”
31 Therefore the Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.
32 Jesus answered them: “Many good works I have shown you from my Father. For which one of them are you stoning me?”
33 The Jews answered Him saying, “It is not for a good work that we are stoning you, but for blasphemy; precisely because you, being a man, make yourself God!”
34 Jesus answered them: “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’?
35 If He called them ‘gods’ to whom the Word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken—

John 10:25-40 in Free Bible Version

25 Jesus replied, “I already told you but you refuse to believe it. The miracles I do in my Father's name prove who I am.
26 You don't believe me because you are not my sheep.
27 My sheep recognize my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
28 I give them eternal life; they shall never be lost, and no one can snatch them from me.
29 My Father who gave them to me is greater than anyone else; no one can snatch them from him.
30 I and the Father are one.”
31 Once again the Jews picked up stones to stone him.
32 Jesus said to them, “You've seen many good deeds that I've done from the Father. Which one are you stoning me for?”
33 The Jews replied, “We're not stoning you for a good deed, but for blasphemy because you are just a man but you're claiming to be God.”
34 Jesus answered them, “Isn't it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’?
35 He called those people ‘gods,’ the people to whom the word of God came—and Scripture can't be altered.
36 So why are you saying the one whom the Father set apart and sent into the world is blaspheming because I said ‘I am the Son of God’?
37 If I'm not doing what my Father does, then don't believe me.
38 But if that is what I'm doing, even though you don't believe me, you should believe because of the evidence of what I've done. That way you can know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”
39 Once again they tried to arrest him, but he escaped from them.
40 He went back across the Jordan River to the place where John had begun baptizing, and he stayed there.

31 The Jews again took up stones to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shown you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, Not for a good work do we stone thee, but for blasphemy, and because thou, who art a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your Law, “I said, ye are gods”?
35 If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be made void,
36 say ye of him whom the Father sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works; that ye may learn and know that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.
39 They sought therefore to seize him; and he went forth out of their hands.
40 And he went away again beyond the Jordan, to the place where John was at first baptizing; and there he abode.

25 “I have told you so,” replied Jesus, “and you do not believe me. The work that I am doing in my Father's name bears testimony to me.
26 But you do not believe me, because you are not of my flock.

31 Some of the people again brought stones to throw at him;

33 “It is not for any good action that we would stone you,” they answered, “but for blasphemy; and because you, who are only a man, make yourself out to be God.”
34 “Are there not,” replied Jesus, “these words in your Law — ‘I said, You are gods’?
35 If those to whom God's word were addressed were said to be ‘gods’ — and scripture cannot be set aside —
36 do you say of one whom the Father has consecrated and sent as his messenger to the world ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said ‘I am God's Son’?

John 10:25-40 in Young's Literal Translation

25 Jesus answered them, 'I told you, and ye do not believe; the works that I do in the name of my Father, these testify concerning me;
26 but ye do not believe, for ye are not of my sheep,
27 according as I said to you: My sheep my voice do hear, and I know them, and they follow me,

29 my Father, who hath given to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck out of the hand of my Father;
30 I and the Father are one.'
31 Therefore, again, did the Jews take up stones that they may stone him;
32 Jesus answered them, 'Many good works did I shew you from my Father; because of which work of them do ye stone me?'
33 The Jews answered him, saying, 'For a good work we do not stone thee, but for evil speaking, and because thou, being a man, dost make thyself God.'
34 Jesus answered them, 'Is it not having been written in your law: I said, ye are gods?
35 if them he did call gods unto whom the word of God came, (and the Writing is not able to be broken,)
36 of him whom the Father did sanctify, and send to the world, do ye say — Thou speakest evil, because I said, Son of God I am?
37 if I do not the works of my Father, do not believe me;
38 and if I do, even if me ye may not believe, the works believe, that ye may know and may believe that in me is the Father, and I in Him.'
