⁷ But if the truth of God through my lie abounded unto his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

⁸ and why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil, that good may come? whose condemnation is just.

⁹ What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we before laid to the charge both of Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin;

¹⁰ as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one;

¹¹ There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God;

¹² They have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not so much as one:

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips:

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood;

¹⁶ Destruction and misery are in their ways;

¹⁷ And the way of peace have they not known:

¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.

⁷ For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

⁸ And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

⁹ What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

¹⁰ As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

¹¹ There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

¹² They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood:

¹⁶ Destruction and misery are in their ways:

¹⁷ And the way of peace have they not known:

¹² They have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not so much as one:

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips:

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood;

¹⁶ Destruction and misery are in their ways;

¹⁷ And the way of peace have they not known:

¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.

⁷ But someone might object and say to me, “The fact that God truly keeps his promises becomes very clear/evident because of my not doing what God has commanded. But the result is that people praise God! So ◄God should no longer say that I should be punished {that he should punish me} on account of my having sinned!/why should God still say that I should be punished {that he should punish me} on account of my having sinned?► RHQ

⁸ If what you, Paul, say is true, then ◄we might as well/it is all right for us to► do evil things in order that good things like that will result! For example, then people will praise God!” Some people speak evil about me by their falsely saying that I say such things. God will fairly/justly punish people who say such things about me!

⁹ If someone would ask, “ Shall we conclude that God will treat us Jews more favorably and will treat the non-Jews less favorably RHQ?” I would reply that we can certainly not conclude that! I have already shown you that all people, the Jews and also the non-Jews, have sinned and so they deserve to be punished { that God will punish them} PRS.

¹⁰ The following words that are written {prophets have written} in the Scriptures support this, No person is righteous. There is not even one righteous person!

¹¹ There is no one who understands how to live properly (OR, about God). There is no one who seeks/desires to know God!

¹² Absolutely everyone has turned away MET from God. God considers them depraved (OR, Everyone has become useless to God). There is no one who acts righteously; no, there is not even one!

¹³ What people say MTY is foul/bad, like the smell that comes from a grave that has been {that people have} opened MET. By what people say MTY, they deceive people. By what they say MTY they injure people, just like the poison of snakes injures people MET.

¹⁴ They are continually ◄cursing/asking God to do harmful things to► others and saying ◄cruel/harsh/hateful► things MTY.

¹⁵ They ◄go quickly/are eager► to murder people MTY.

¹⁶ Wherever they go, they ruin everything and make people miserable MTY.

¹⁷ They have not/never known how to live peacefully with other people.

¹⁸ They absolutely refuse to fear/reverence God SYN!

⁸ Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), “Let’s do evil, that good may come?” Those who say so are justly condemned.

⁹ What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

¹⁰ As it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one.

¹¹ There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.

¹² They have all turned away. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, no, not so much as one.”

¹³ “Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit.” “The poison of vipers is under their lips.”

¹⁴ “Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”

⁷ But if, because I am untrue, God being seen to be true gets more glory, why am I to be judged as a sinner?

⁸ Let us not do evil so that good may come (a statement which we are falsely said by some to have made), because such behaviour will have its right punishment.

⁹ What then? are we worse off than they? In no way: because we have before made it clear that Jews as well as Greeks are all under the power of sin;

¹⁰ As it is said in the holy Writings, There is not one who does righteousness;

¹¹ Not one who has the knowledge of what is right, not one who is a searcher after God;

¹² They have all gone out of the way, there is no profit in any of them; there is not one who does good, not so much as one:

¹³ Their throat is like an open place of death; with their tongues they have said what is not true: the poison of snakes is under their lips:

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of curses and bitter words:

¹⁵ Their feet are quick in running after blood;

¹⁶ Destruction and trouble are in their ways;

¹⁷ And of the way of peace they have no knowledge:

¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.

⁷ For if the truth of God, in my lie, has more abounded to his glory, why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

⁸ and not, according as we are injuriously charged, and according as some affirm that we say, Let us practise evil things, that good ones may come? whose judgment is just.

⁹ What then? are we better? No, in no wise: for we have before charged both Jews and Greeks with being all under sin:

¹⁰ according as it is written, There is not a righteous man, not even one;

¹¹ there is not the man that understands, there is not one that seeks after God.

¹² All have gone out of the way, they have together become unprofitable; there is not one that practises goodness, there is not so much as one:

¹³ their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; asps' poison is under their lips:

¹⁴ whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness;

¹⁵ swift their feet to shed blood;

¹⁶ ruin and misery are in their ways,

¹⁷ and way of peace they have not known:

¹⁸ there is no fear of God before their eyes.

⁷ For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie, unto his glory, why am I also yet judged as a sinner?

⁸ And not rather (as we are slandered, and as some affirm that we say) let us do evil, that there may come good? whose damnation is just.

⁹ What then? Do we excel them? No, not so. For we have charged both Jews, and Greeks, that they are all under sin.

¹⁰ As it is written: There is not any man just.

¹¹ There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

¹² All have turned out of the way; they are become unprofitable together: there is none that doth good, there is not so much as one.

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have dealt deceitfully. The venom of asps is under their lips.

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

¹⁵ Their feet swift to shed blood:

¹⁶ Destruction and misery in their ways:

¹⁷ And the way of peace they have not known:

¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.

⁷ For if by my lie the truth of God has abounded to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

⁸ And why not say, “Let us do evil so that good may come”?—just as we are slandered, and just as some affirm that we say. The judgment of whom is just.

⁹ What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

¹⁰ Just as it is written: “There is none righteous, no not one.

¹¹ There is none who understands; there is none who seeks God.

¹² All have turned aside; together they became unprofitable; there is not one doing kindness, there is not so much as one.

¹³ Their throat is an opened grave; with their tongues they deceived; the poison of asps is under their lips;

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood;

¹⁶ Ruin and misery are in their ways;

¹⁷ and the way of peace they did not know.

¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

⁷ Still, if the truth of God abounded to His glory by my falsehood, just why am I still judged as a sinner?

⁸ However, we must not say, “Let us do evil so that good may come” (as some people slanderously claim that we do)—their condemnation is well deserved!

⁹ What then? Are we any better? Not at all! For we have already charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

¹⁰ Just as it is written: “No one is righteous, not even one;

¹¹ there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.

¹² All have turned aside, together they have been made useless; there is no one who shows kindness, no, not so much as one.”

¹³ “Their throat is an opened grave; they habitually deceive with their tongues.” “Viper's venom is under their lips”;

¹⁴ “whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”

¹⁵ “Their feet are swift to shed blood;

¹⁶ ruin and wretchedness are in their paths,

¹⁷ and the way of peace they have not known.”

¹⁸ “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

⁷ Someone could say, “Why am I still condemned as a sinner if my lies make the truth of God and his glory more obvious in contrast?”

⁸ Is it a case of, “Let's sin to bring about good”? That's what some people have slanderously accused us of saying. They should be rightly condemned!

⁹ So then, are we Jews better than others? Definitely not! Remember that we've already argued that both Jews and foreigners are under the control of sin.

¹⁰ As Scripture says, “No one does what is right, not even one.

¹¹ No one understands; no one seeks God.

¹² Everyone has turned their backs on him; everyone does what is totally wrong. No one does what is good, not a single one.

¹³ Their throats are like an open grave; their tongues spread deceit; their lips ooze with the venom of snakes.

¹⁴ Their mouths are full of bitterness and curses,

¹⁵ and they are quick to cause pain and death.

¹⁶ Their way leads to disaster and misery;

¹⁷ they don't know how to live in peace.

¹⁸ They don't care about respecting God at all.”

⁷ For if the veritie of God hath more abounded through my lye vnto his glorie, why am I yet condemned as a sinner?

⁸ And (as we are blamed, and as some affirme, that we say) why doe we not euil, that good may come thereof? whose damnation is iust.

⁹ What then? are we more excellent? No, in no wise: for we haue alreadie prooued, that all, both Iewes and Gentiles are vnder sinne,

¹⁰ As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one.

¹¹ There is none that vnderstandeth: there is none that seeketh God.

¹² They haue all gone out of the way: they haue bene made altogether vnprofitable: there is none that doeth good, no not one.

¹³ Their throte is an open sepulchre: they haue vsed their tongues to deceit: the poyson of aspes is vnder their lippes.

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitternesse.

¹⁵ Their feete are swift to shead blood.

¹⁶ Destruction and calamity are in their waies,

¹⁷ And ye way of peace they haue not knowen.

¹⁸ The feare of God is not before their eies.

⁷ For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

⁸ And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

⁸ And why do you not say, as some slanderously charge us with saying, Let us do evil, that good may come? The condemnation of such men is just.

⁹ What then? Are we better than others? By no means! For we have already brought a charge both against Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin.

¹⁰ As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;

¹¹ there is none that hath understanding, there is none that diligently seeketh God;

¹² they have all turned aside from the right way, they have become worthless together; there is none that doeth good, not even one.

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have practised deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips.

¹⁴ Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

¹⁵ Swift are their feet to shed blood;

¹⁶ destruction and misery are in their ways;

¹⁷ and the way of peace they know not.

¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

⁷ But, if my falsehood redounds to the glory of God, by making his truthfulness more apparent, why am I like others, still condemned as a sinner?

⁸ Why should we not say — as some people slanderously assert that we do say — ‘Let us do evil that good may come’? The condemnation of such people is indeed just!

⁹ What follows, then? Are we Jews in any way superior to others? Not at all. Our indictment against both Jews and Greeks was that all alike were in subjection to sin.

¹⁰ As scripture says — ‘There is not even one who is righteous,

¹¹ not one who understands, not one who is searching for God!

¹² They have all gone astray; they have one and all become depraved; there is no one who is doing good — no, not one!’

¹³ ‘Their throats are like opened graves; they deceive with their tongues.’ ‘The venom of snakes lies behind their lips,’

¹⁴ ‘And their mouths are full of bitter curses.’

¹⁵ ‘Swift are their feet to shed blood.

¹⁶ Distress and trouble dog their steps,

¹⁷ and the path of peace they do not know.’

¹⁸ ‘The fear of God is not before their eyes.’

⁷ But, if my falsehood redounds to the glory of God, by making his truthfulness more apparent, why am I like others, still condemned as a sinner?

⁹ So what about those of us that are Jewish people? Will we get a better deal than other people? No way. Both Jewish people and other people do bad things, just like I already said. We just can’t help it.

¹⁰ Like we read in God’s book, “Nobody is really good, not even one person,

¹¹ Nobody understands about God, nobody even tries to get to know him.

¹² Everybody turns away from God, They all go wrong, Not even one of them does good things.

¹³ They say things that make big trouble for other people, Whenever they talk, they tell lies and trick people. Their mouths are like the mouths of a cheeky snakes.

¹⁴ They just swear at other people and say bad things about them.

¹⁵ They quickly get up and to kill other people,

¹⁶ Wherever they go they hurt people and make them really sad.

¹⁷ They can’t live without fighting.

¹⁸ They don’t respect God or take any notice of him.”

⁷ Yf the veritie of God appere moare excellent thorow my lye vnto his prayse why am I hence forth iudged as a synner?

⁸ and saye not rather (as men evyll speake of vs and as some affirme that we saye) let vs do evyll that good maye come therof. Whose damnacion is iuste.

⁹ What saye we then? Are we better then they? No in no wyse. For we have all ready proved how that both Iewes and Gentils are all vnder synne

¹⁰ as it is writte: There is none righteous no not one:

¹¹ There is none that vnderstondith there is none that seketh after God

¹² they are all gone out of the waye they are all made vnprofytable ther is none that doeth good no not one.

¹³ Their throte is an open sepulchre with their tounges they have disceaved: the poyson of Aspes is vnder their lippes.

¹⁴ Whose mouthes are full of coursynge and bitternes.

¹⁵ Their fete are swyfte to sheed bloud.

¹⁶ Destruccion and wretchednes are in their wayes.

¹⁷ And the waye of peace they have not knowen.

¹⁸ There is no feare of God before their eyes.

⁷ But if the truth of God through my lie provides abundant praise for him, why am I still being judged as a sinner?

⁸ Why not say, as we are falsely reported to say, and as some affirm that we say, “Let us do evil, so that good may come”? The judgment on them is just.

⁹ What then? Are we excusing ourselves? Not at all. For we have already accused both Jews and Greeks, all of them, of being under sin.

¹⁰ This is as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not one.

¹¹ There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.

¹² They have all turned away. They together have become useless. There is no one who does good, no, not even one.”

¹³ “Their throat is an open grave. Their tongues have deceived. The poison of snakes is under their lips.”

¹⁴ “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”

¹⁵ “Their feet are swift to pour out blood.

¹⁶ Destruction and suffering are in their paths.

¹⁷ These people have not known a way of peace.”

¹⁸ “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

⁷ For if the truth of God hath abounded in my leasing, into the glory of him, what yet am I deemed as a sinner?

⁸ And not as we be blasphemed, and as some say that we say, Do we evil things, that good things come. Whose damnation is just.

⁹ What then? Surpass we them? Nay; for we have showed by skill, that all both Jews and Greeks be under sin or the Jews and Greeks all to be under sin,

¹⁰ as it is written, For there is no man just;

¹¹ there is no man understanding, neither seeking God.

¹² All bowed away, together they be made unprofitable; there is none that doeth good thing, there is none till to one.

¹³ The throat of them is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they did guilefully, or treacherously; the venom of snakes is under their lips.

¹⁴ The mouth of whom is full of cursing and bitterness;

¹⁵ the feet of them be swift to shed blood.

¹⁶ Sorrow and cursedness be in the ways of them,

¹⁷ and they knew not the way of peace;

¹⁸ the dread of God is not before their eyes.

⁷ For if the truth of God hath abounded in my leasing (or in my lying), into the glory of him, what yet am I deemed as a sinner? (For if God’s truth hath abounded in my lies, unto his glory, why am I still judged like a sinner?)

⁸ And not as we be blasphemed, and as some say that we say, Do we evil things, (so) that good things come. Whose damnation is just.

⁹ What then? (Sur)pass we them? Nay; for we have showed by skill, that all both Jews and Greeks be under sin, What therefore? Pass we them? Nay; soothly we have showed by skill, the Jews and Greeks all to be under sin,

¹⁰ as it is written, For there is no man (that is) just; (as it is written, For there is no one who is righteous;)

¹¹ there is no man understanding, neither seeking God.

¹² All bowed away, together they be made unprofitable; there is none that doeth (any) good thing, there is none till to one.

¹⁶ Sorrow and cursedness be in the ways of them, +Contrition, or defouling together, and infelicity/unhappiness be in the ways of them,

¹⁷ and they knew not the way of peace;

¹⁸ the dread of God is not before their eyes. (the fear of God, or fearful reverence for God, is not in their thoughts.)

⁷ for if the truth of God in my falsehood did more abound to His glory, why yet am I also as a sinner judged?

⁸ and not, as we are evil spoken of, and as certain affirm us to say — 'We may do the evil things, that the good ones may come?' whose judgment is righteous.

⁹ What, then? are we better? not at all! for we did before charge both Jews and Greeks with being all under sin,

¹⁰ according as it hath been written — 'There is none righteous, not even one;

¹¹ There is none who is understanding, there is none who is seeking after God.

¹² All did go out of the way, together they became unprofitable, there is none doing good, there is not even one.

¹³ A sepulchre opened is their throat; with their tongues they used deceit; poison of asps is under their lips.

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

¹⁵ Swift are their feet to shed blood.

¹⁶ Ruin and misery are in their ways.

¹⁷ And a way of peace they did not know.

¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.'
