Romans 3:20-23 in English

²⁰ because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

²² even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction;

²³ for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

²² Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

²³ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

²⁰ because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

²² even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction;

²⁰ It is not because people have done the things that God's laws require that God will ◄erase the record of their sins/declare them no longer guilty for sin►, because no one has done those things completely. In fact, the result of our knowing God's laws is that we know clearly that we have sinned (OR, are sinful).

²¹ But God's ◄erasing the record of our sins/declaring us no longer guilty► does not depend on our obeying the laws that he gave Moses. It has now been { God has now} revealed to us how he erases the record of our sins by a different way. It was written about by Moses { Moses wrote about it} in the laws PRS God gave him, and it was also written about by the prophets {the prophets also wrote about it}.

²² God erases the record of our sins because we trust in what Jesus Christ has done for us. God does this for every person who trusts in Christ, because he considers that there is no difference between Jews and non-Jews.

²³ All people have done evil, and all people have failed to accomplish the glorious goals that God set for them.

²⁰ Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the law and the prophets;

²² even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe. For there is no distinction,

²³ for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

²³ For all have done wrong and are far from the glory of God;

²⁰ Wherefore by works of law no flesh shall be justified before him; for by law is knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now without law righteousness of God is manifested, borne witness to by the law and the prophets;

²² righteousness of God by faith of Jesus Christ towards all, and upon all those who believe: for there is no difference;

²³ for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

²⁰ Because by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified before him. For by the law is the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now without the law the justice of God is made manifest, being witnessed by the law and the prophets.

²² Even the justice of God, by faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all them that believe in him: for there is no distinction:

²³ For all have sinned, and do need the glory of God.

²⁰ Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now the righteousness of God apart from the law has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,

²² even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and upon all those that believe. For there is no distinction;

²³ for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,

²⁰ It follows that no flesh will be justified in His sight by the works of the law, because through the law comes the real knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now, apart from law, a righteousness from God has been revealed, being attested by the Law and the Prophets,

²² namely, a righteousness from God through faith in Jesus Christ, into all and upon all those who believe. There is no difference:

²³ all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

²⁰ For no one is made right before God by doing what the law requires. The law only helps us recognize what sin really is.

²¹ But now God's character of goodness and right has been demonstrated. It has nothing to do with law-keeping, even though it was spoken of by the law and the prophets.

²² This character of God that is good and right comes to everyone who trusts in Jesus Christ, those who place their confidence in him. It doesn't matter who we are:

²³ We have all sinned, and we fall far short of God's glorious ideal.

²⁰ Therefore by the woorkes of the Lawe shall no flesh be iustified in his sight: for by the Lawe commeth the knowledge of sinne.

²¹ But nowe is the righteousnesse, of God made manifest without the Lawe, hauing witnes of the Lawe and of the Prophets,

²² To wit, the righteousnesse of God by the faith of Iesus Christ, vnto all, and vpon all that beleeue.

²³ For there is no difference: for all haue sinned, and are depriued of the glorie of God,

²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

²² even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

²³ for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

²⁰ Because by works of the Law no flesh shall be accepted as righteous: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now, apart from the Law, the righteousness which is of God, to which the Law and the Prophets bear testimony,

²² even the righteousness which is of God through faith in Jesus Christ, hath been made manifest to all and for all believers. For there is no distinction.

²³ For all have sinned, and fail of obtaining the glory which cometh from God;

²⁰ For no human being will be pronounced righteous before God as the result of obedience to Law; for it is Law that shows what sin is.

²¹ But now, quite apart from Law, the divine righteousness stands revealed, and to it the Law and the prophets bear witness —

²² the divine righteousness which is bestowed, through faith in Jesus Christ, on all, without distinction, who believe in him.

²³ For all have sinned, and all fall short of God's glorious ideal,

²⁰ For no human being will be pronounced righteous before God as the result of obedience to Law; for it is Law that shows what sin is.

²¹ But now, quite apart from Law, the divine righteousness stands revealed, and to it the Law and the prophets bear witness —

²² the divine righteousness which is bestowed, through faith in Jesus Christ, on all, without distinction, who believe in him.

²³ For all have sinned, and all fall short of God's glorious ideal,

²¹ But now God shows us a different way. If we follow this way he will be happy with us. It is not about that law, whether we follow it or not, but it is about Jesus Christ, whether we believe in him or not. God tells us about this in his book. (We can read it in the part that has his law as well as in the other part that he got his men to write.) God will save us if we trust in Jesus. It doesn’t matter who we are. God treats everybody the same.

²³ We all went wrong and did bad things. None of us is as good as God wants us to be.

²⁰ For by the lawe commeth the knowledge of synne.

²¹ Now verely is the rightewesnes that cometh of God declared without the fulfillinge of the lawe havinge witnes yet of the lawe and of the Prophetes.

²² The rightewesnes no dout which is good before God cometh by the fayth of Iesus Christ vnto all and vpon all that beleve. Ther is no difference:

²³ for all have synned and lacke the prayse that is of valoure before God:

²⁰ This is because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

²¹ But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known. It was witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,

²² that is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe. For there is no distinction.

²³ For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,

²³ For all men sinned, and have need to the glory of God;

²⁰ For of the works of the law each flesh shall not be justified before him; for by the law there is knowing of sin.

²¹ But now without the law the rightwiseness of God is showed, that is witnessed of the law and the prophets. (But now without the Law God’s righteousness is shown, which is testified to by the Law and the prophets.)

²² And the rightwiseness of God is by the faith of Jesus Christ into all men and on all men that believe in him; for there is no parting or distinction.

²³ For all men sinned, and have need to the glory of God; (For all have sinned, and have need of God’s glory;)

²⁰ wherefore by works of law shall no flesh be declared righteous before Him, for through law is a knowledge of sin.

²¹ And now apart from law hath the righteousness of God been manifested, testified to by the law and the prophets,

²² and the righteousness of God is through the faith of Jesus Christ to all, and upon all those believing, — for there is no difference,
