Romans 15:7-30 in English

⁷ Wherefore receive ye one another, even as Christ also received you, to the glory of God.

⁸ For I say that Christ hath been made a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises given unto the fathers,

⁹ and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, Therefore will I give praise unto thee among the Gentiles, And sing unto thy name.

¹⁰ And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

¹¹ And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; And let all the peoples praise him.

¹² And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; On him shall the Gentiles hope.

¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

¹⁵ But I write the more boldly unto you in some measure, as putting you again in remembrance, because of the grace that was given me of God,

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus unto the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ I have therefore my glorying in Christ Jesus in things pertaining to God.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any things save those which Christ wrought through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,

¹⁹ in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and round about even unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ;

²⁰ yea, making it my aim so to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build upon another man’s foundation;

²¹ but, as it is written, They shall see, to whom no tidings of him came, And they who have not heard shall understand.

²² Wherefore also I was hindered these many times from coming to you:

²³ but now, having no more any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come unto you,

²⁴ whensoever I go unto Spain (for I hope to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first in some measure I shall have been satisfied with your company)—

²⁵ but now, I say, I go unto Jerusalem, ministering unto the saints.

²⁶ For it hath been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints that are at Jerusalem.

²⁷ Yea, it hath been their good pleasure; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to minister unto them in carnal things.

²⁸ When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by you unto Spain.

²⁹ And I know that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of Christ.

³⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

¹⁰ And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

¹¹ And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.

¹² And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

¹⁴ And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

¹⁵ Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,

¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

¹⁷ I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,

¹⁹ Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

²⁰ Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:

²¹ But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

²² For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.

²³ But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you;

²⁴ Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.

²⁵ But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.

²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.

²⁷ It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

²⁸ When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.

²⁹ And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

³⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

⁷ So I say to all of you believers at Rome, accept each other. If you do that, people will praise God as they see you behaving like Christ. Accept each other just like Christ accepted you!

⁸ I want you to remember that Christ helped us Jews MTY by what he did, in order to show that God ◄is faithful/does what he says he will do►. That is, his coming as our Messiah fulfilled what God promised to our Jewish ancestors.

⁹ And by acting mercifully to them, he also caused non-Jews to praise him. What he has done for non-Jews fulfills what is written in the Scriptures that David said to God: “So I will praise you (sg) when I am among the non-Jews, and I will sing to you MTY.”

¹⁰ David also wrote, “ You non-Jews, rejoice with us who are God's people.”

¹¹ And Moses wrote in the Scriptures, “Praise the Lord, all you non-Jews, and may everyone praise him DOU.”

¹² And Isaiah wrote in the Scriptures, “There will be a descendant MET of King David who will begin to rule the non-Jews. They will confidently expect him to fulfill what he has promised.”

¹³ God is the one who causes you to confidently expect him to do what he has promised. I pray/ask that he will cause you to be completely joyful and peaceful as you trust in him. As you do that, the Holy Spirit will enable you to more and more confidently expect to receive what God has promised you.

¹⁴ My fellow believers, I myself am completely sure that you yourselves have acted toward others in a completely good way. You have done that because you have known completely all that God wants you to know HYP, and because you are able to teach each other.

¹⁵ However, I have written to you quite frankly in this letter about some things in order to remind you about those things. I have written this letter because I have been appointed by God {God has appointed me}, which I did not deserve,

¹⁶ in order that I would work for Jesus Christ among non-Jews. God has appointed me to act like a priest as I proclaim his good message in order that he will accept the non-Jews who believe in Christ. They will be like an offering MET to God as a result of their being dedicated to him by the Holy Spirit {the Holy Spirit dedicating them to God}.

¹⁷ It follows that, because of my relationship with (OR, because I belong to) Christ Jesus, I am happy about my work for God.

¹⁸ I will speak boldly only LIT about the work that Christ has enabled me to do. I do that work in order that non-Jews might pay attention to the message about Christ as a result of what I have said and done,

¹⁹ specifically, by my performing many powerful miracles DOU. I have done those things as a result of God's Spirit powerfully enabling me. As a result of doing those things, while traveling all the way around from Jerusalem to Illyricum province, I have completed my work of proclaiming the message about Christ in those places.

²⁰ As I proclaim that message, I am always eagerly trying to proclaim it in places where people have not already heard about Christ. I do that in order that as I work for God I might not be continuing the work for him that someone else already started MET. I do not want to be like a man who builds a house on someone else's foundation.

²¹ On the contrary, I teach non-Jews, so that what happens may be like what was written {the prophet Isaiah wrote} in the Scriptures about the Messiah: “Those who did not hear about him previously will know the truth about him. Truly, those who have not heard about him will hear and understand his message DOU.”

²² Because I have attempted to preach the message about Christ in places where they have not heard about him, I have been hindered {things have hindered me} many times from being able to visit you.

²³ But now there are no more places in these regions where people have not heard about Christ. Furthermore, for several years I have wanted to visit you.

²⁴ So I hope to go/come to see you. I hope to do that as soon as I am on my way to the provinces in Spain. I hope to see you as I journey through your area, and I hope that by whatever you give me EUP you will help me on my journey to Spain. But before I go there, I want to enjoy being with you for a little while, although I would like to stay with you longer.

²⁵ But I cannot visit you now, because I am about to go to Jerusalem in order to take money EUP for God's people there.

²⁶ The believers in Macedonia and Achaia provinces MTY decided to contribute some money EUP for those of God's people in Jerusalem who are poor.

²⁷ They themselves decided to do this, but truly they owe something to God's people in Jerusalem. The non-Jewish believers benefited spiritually from Jewish believers as a result of hearing the message about Christ from them, so the non-Jews should also help the Jewish believers in Jerusalem by giving them material things (OR, money) EUP.

²⁸ So when I have finished this task by safely delivering all this money MET, EUP that the believers in Macedonia and Achaia have given, I will leave Jerusalem and visit you in Rome while I am on my way to Spain.

²⁹ And I know that when I visit you, Christ will abundantly bless us (OR, enable me to bless you).

³⁰ Because we belong to our Lord Jesus Christ and because the Spirit of God causes us to love each other, I urge you all that you help me by fervently/intensely praying to God for me.

⁸ Now I say that Christ has been made a servant of the circumcision to give effect to the undertakings given by God to the fathers,

⁹ And so that the Gentiles might give glory to God for his mercy; as it is said, For this reason I will give praise to you among the Gentiles, and I will make a song to your name.

¹⁰ And again he says, Take part, you Gentiles, in the joy of his people.

¹¹ And again, Give praise to the Lord, all you Gentiles; and let all the nations give praise to him.

¹² And again Isaiah says, There will be the root of Jesse, and he who comes to be the ruler over the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles put their hope.

¹³ Now may the God of hope make you full of joy and peace through faith, so that all hope may be yours in the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ And I myself am certain of you, brothers, that you are full of what is good, complete in all knowledge, able to give direction to one another.

¹⁵ But I have, in some measure, less fear in writing to you to put these things before you again, because of the grace which was given to me by God,

¹⁶ To be a servant of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, doing the work of a priest in the good news of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles might be pleasing to God, being made holy by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ So I have pride in Christ Jesus in the things which are God's.

¹⁸ And I will keep myself from talking of anything but those things which Christ has done by me to put the Gentiles under his rule in word and in act,

¹⁹ By signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have given all the good news of Christ;

²⁰ Making it my purpose not to take the good news where Christ was named, so that my work might not be resting on that of others;

²¹ But as it is said in the holy Writings, They will see, to whom the news of him had not been given, and those to whose ears it had not come will have knowledge.

²² For which reason I was frequently kept from coming to you:

²³ But now, having no longer any place in these parts and having had for a number of years a great desire to come to you,

²⁴ Whenever I go to Spain (for it is my hope to see you on my way, and to be sent on there by you, if first I may in some measure have been comforted by your company) —

²⁵ But now I go to Jerusalem, taking help for the saints.

²⁶ For it has been the good pleasure of those of Macedonia and Achaia to send a certain amount of money for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem.

²⁷ Yes, it has been their good pleasure; and they are in their debt. For if the Gentiles have had a part in the things of the Spirit which were theirs, it is right for them, in the same way, to give them help in the things of the flesh.

²⁸ So when I have done this, and have given them this fruit of love, I will go on by you into Spain.

²⁹ And I am certain that when I come, I will be full of the blessing of Christ.

³⁰ Now I make request to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you will be working together with me in your prayers to God for me;

¹⁴ But I am persuaded, my brethren, I myself also, concerning you, that yourselves also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

¹⁵ But I have written to you the more boldly, brethren, in part, as putting you in mind, because of the grace given to me by God,

¹⁶ for me to be minister of Christ Jesus to the nations, carrying on as a sacrificial service the message of glad tidings of God, in order that the offering up of the nations might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ I have therefore whereof to boast in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak anything of the things which Christ has not wrought by me, for the obedience of the nations, by word and deed,

¹⁹ in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God; so that I, from Jerusalem, and in a circuit round to Illyricum, have fully preached the glad tidings of the Christ;

²⁰ and so aiming to announce the glad tidings, not where Christ has been named, that I might not build upon another's foundation;

²¹ but according as it is written, To whom there was nothing told concerning him, they shall see; and they that have not heard shall understand.

²² Wherefore also I have been often hindered from coming to you.

²³ But now, having no longer place in these regions, and having great desire to come to you these many years,

²⁴ whenever I should go to Spain; (for I hope to see you as I go through, and by you to be set forward thither, if first I shall have been in part filled with your company;)

²⁵ but now I go to Jerusalem, ministering to the saints;

²⁶ for Macedonia and Achaia have been well pleased to make a certain contribution for the poor of the saints who are in Jerusalem.

²⁷ They have been well pleased indeed, and they are their debtors; for if the nations have participated in their spiritual things, they ought also in fleshly to minister to them.

²⁸ Having finished this therefore, and having sealed to them this fruit, I will set off by you into Spain.

²⁹ But I know that, coming to you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of Christ.

³⁰ But I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in prayers for me to God;

⁷ Wherefore receive one another, as Christ also hath received you unto the honour of God.

⁸ For I say that Christ Jesus was minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.

⁹ But that the Gentiles are to glorify God for his mercy, as it is written: Therefore will I confess to thee, O Lord, among the Gentiles, and will sing to thy name.

¹⁰ And again he saith: Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

¹¹ And again: Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and magnify him, all ye people.

¹² And again Isaias saith: There shall be a root of Jesse; and he that shall rise up to rule the Gentiles, in him the Gentiles shall hope.

¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing; that you may abound in hope, and in the power of the Holy Ghost.

¹⁴ And I myself also, my brethren, am assured of you, that you also are full of love, replenished with all knowledge, so that you are able to admonish one another.

¹⁵ But I have written to you, brethren, more boldly in some sort, as it were putting you in mind: because of the grace which is given me from God.

¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Christ Jesus among the Gentiles; sanctifying the gospel of God, that the oblation of the Gentiles may be made acceptable and sanctified in the Holy Ghost.

¹⁷ I have therefore glory in Christ Jesus towards God.

¹⁸ For I dare not to speak of any of those things which Christ worketh not by me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,

¹⁹ By the virtue of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Ghost, so that from Jerusalem round about as far as unto Illyricum, I have replenished the gospel of Christ.

²⁰ And I have so preached this gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation.

²¹ But as it is written: They to whom he was not spoken of, shall see, and they that have not heard shall understand.

²² For which cause also I was hindered very much from coming to you, and have been kept away till now.

²³ But now having no more place in these countries, and having a great desire these many years past to come unto you,

²⁴ When I shall begin to take my journey into Spain, I hope that as I pass, I shall see you, and be brought on my way thither by you, if first, in part, I shall have enjoyed you:

²⁵ But now I shall go to Jerusalem, to minister unto the saints.

²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a contribution for the poor of the saints that are in Jerusalem.

²⁷ For it hath pleased them; and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they ought also in carnal things to minister to them.

²⁸ When therefore I shall have accomplished this, and consigned to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.

²⁹ And I know, that when I come to you, I shall come in the abundance of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

³⁰ I beseech you therefore, brethren, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the charity of the Holy Ghost, that you help me in your prayers for me to God,

⁷ Therefore receive one another, just as also Christ received you, to the glory of God.

⁸ Now I say that Christ Jesus has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, in order to confirm the promises given to the fathers,

⁹ and that the Gentiles might glorify God on behalf of His mercy, as it is written: “For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and I will sing praise to Your name.”

¹⁰ And again he says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!”

¹¹ And again: “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Praise Him, all you peoples!”

¹² And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be the root of Jesse; and He that shall rise to rule over the Gentiles, in Him the Gentiles shall hope.”

¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, having been filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

¹⁵ And I write more boldly to you brothers, in part, as reminding you, because of the grace given to me by God,

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God as a priest, so that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ Therefore I have something to boast of in Christ Jesus in the things pertaining to God.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ did not work out through me, in word and deed, for the obedience of the Gentiles—

¹⁹ in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

²⁰ And so eagerly striving to evangelize not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon the foundation of another,

²¹ but as it is written: “To whom He was not announced, they shall see, and those who have not heard shall understand.”

²² For this reason I also have been hindered many times from coming to you.

²³ But now no longer having a place in these regions, and having a longing to come to you for many years,

²⁴ whenever I travel to Spain, I shall come to you. For I hope while traveling through to see you, and to be sent forward there by you, if I may be filled in part from you first.

²⁵ But now I am traveling to Jerusalem, ministering to the saints.

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia thought it good to make some contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

²⁷ For they thought it good, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles shared in spiritual things, they are obligated also to minister to them in material things.

²⁸ Therefore, having finished and having sealed to them this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain.

²⁹ But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

³⁰ Now I beseech you, brothers, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in prayers to God on my behalf,

⁷ Therefore accept one another, just as the Christ also accepted us, to the glory of God.

¹² And again, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, even He who rises up to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will place their hope on Him.”

¹³ Now may the God of the hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in that hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ Now I myself am really confident about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others.

¹⁵ Nevertheless I have written to you quite boldly on some points, brothers, as a reminder to you, because of the grace given to me by God,

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Jesus Christ to the nations, serving the Gospel of God as a priest so that the Gentiles might become an acceptable offering, sanctified by Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ So in Christ Jesus I do have a boast in things pertaining to God;

¹⁸ because I do not presume to speak of anything except those things that Christ has accomplished through me to make the Gentiles obedient—by word and deed,

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of God's Spirit, so that I have fully proclaimed the Gospel of the Christ from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum.

²⁰ It has always been my aim to evangelize where Christ has not been named, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation;

²¹ rather, as it is written: “Those to whom He was not announced will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”

²² That is why I have been hindered these many times from coming to you.

²³ But now, no longer having a place in these parts, and having a longing these many years to come to you,

²⁴ whenever I travel to Spain I will come to you. Because I hope to see you while passing through, and to be sent on my way there by you, if I may first enjoy your company for a while.

²⁵ Now, however, I am traveling to Jerusalem, serving the saints.

²⁶ Because Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

²⁷ Yes, they were pleased, and they are indebted to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are also obligated to minister to them in physical things.

²⁸ So when I have finished this and have sealed to them this ‘fruit’, I will go by way of you to Spain.

²⁹ And I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel of the Christ.

³⁰ Now I implore you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in prayers to God on my behalf,

⁷ So accept one another, just as Christ accepted you, and give God the glory.

⁸ I maintain that Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show God tells the truth, keeping the promises he made to their forefathers.

⁹ He also came that foreigners could praise God for his mercy, as Scripture says, “Therefore I will praise you among the foreigners; I will sing praises to your name.”

¹⁰ And also: “Foreigners, celebrate with his people!”

¹¹ And again: “All you foreigners, praise the Lord, let all peoples praise him.”

¹² And again, Isaiah says, “Jesse's descendant will come to rule the nations, and foreigners will put their hope in him.”

¹³ May the God of hope completely fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you will overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit!

¹⁴ I'm convinced that you, my brothers and sisters, are full of goodness, and that you are filled with every kind of knowledge, so you are well able to teach one another.

¹⁵ I've been blunt in the way I have written to you about some of these things, but this is just to remind you. For God gave me grace

¹⁶ to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the foreigners, like a priest sharing God's good news, so that they could become an acceptable offering, made holy by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ So even though I have something to boast about because of my service for God,

¹⁸ (I wouldn't dare talk about any of this except as Christ has done it through me), I have led foreigners to obedience through my teaching and demonstration,

¹⁹ through the power of signs and miracles done with the Holy Spirit's power. From Jerusalem all the way over to Illyricum, everywhere I've shared fully the good news of Christ.

²⁰ In fact I was keen to spread the good news in places that hadn't heard the name of Christ, so that I wouldn't be building on what others have done.

²¹ As Scripture says, “Those who haven't been told the good news will discover him, and those who haven't heard will understand.”

²² That's why I was prevented so many times from coming to see you.

²³ But now, as there's nowhere left here to work, and since I've looked forward to visiting you for many years,

²⁴ when I go to Spain I hope to see you when I pass through. Maybe you can give me some help for my journey once we've enjoyed some time together.

²⁵ At the moment I'm on my way to Jerusalem to help the believers there,

²⁶ because the believers in Macedonia and Achaia thought it was a good idea to send a contribution to the poor among the believers in Jerusalem.

²⁷ They were happy to do this because they're in their debt. Now that foreigners are sharing their spiritual benefits, they owe it to the Jewish believers to help them in material things.

²⁸ So once I've done this, and have safely delivered this contribution to them, I'll visit you on my way to Spain.

²⁹ I know that when I come, Christ will give us his full blessing.

³⁰ I want to encourage you, my brothers and sisters through our Lord Jesus Christ and through the love of the Spirit, to join together in praying hard for me.

⁷ Wherefore receiue ye one another, as Christ also receiued vs to the glory of God.

⁸ Nowe I say, that Iesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision, for the trueth of God, to confirme the promises made vnto the fathers.

⁹ And let the Gentiles prayse God, for his mercie, as it is written, For this cause I wil confesse thee among the Gentiles, and sing vnto thy Name.

¹⁰ And againe he saith, Reioyce, ye Gentiles with his people.

¹¹ And againe, Prayse the Lord, all ye Gentiles, and laude ye him, all people together.

¹² And againe Esaias sayth, There shall be a roote of Iesse, and hee that shall rise to reigne ouer the Gentiles, in him shall the Gentiles trust.

¹³ Nowe the God of hope fill you with all ioye, and peace in beleeuing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the holy Ghost.

¹⁴ And I my selfe also am perswaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodnes, and filled with all knowledge, and are able to admonish one another.

¹⁵ Neuerthelesse, brethren, I haue somewhat boldly after a sort written vnto you, as one that putteth you in remembrance, through the grace that is giuen me of God,

¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Iesus Christ toward the Gentiles, ministring the Gospel of God, that the offering vp of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the holy Ghost.

¹⁷ I haue therefore whereof I may reioyce in Christ Iesus in those things which pertaine to God.

¹⁸ For I dare not speake of any thing, which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient in worde and deede,

¹⁹ With the power of signes and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God: so that from Hierusalem, and round about vnto Illyricum, I haue caused to abound the Gospel of Christ.

²⁰ Yea, so I enforced my selfe to preach the Gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should haue built on another mans foundation.

²¹ But as it is written, To whome hee was not spoken of, they shall see him, and they that heard not, shall vnderstand him.

²² Therefore also I haue bene oft let to come vnto you:

²³ But nowe seeing I haue no more place in these quarters, and also haue bene desirous many yeeres agone to come vnto you,

²⁴ When I shall take my iourney into Spaine, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my iourney, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, after that I haue bene somewhat filled with your company.

²⁵ But now go I to Hierusalem, to minister vnto the Saints.

²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certaine distribution vnto the poore Saints which are at Hierusalem.

²⁷ For it hath pleased them, and their detters are they: for if the Gentiles be made partakers of their spirituall things, their duetie is also to minister vnto them in carnall things.

²⁸ When I haue therefore performed this, and haue sealed them this fruite, I will passe by you into Spaine.

²⁹ And I knowe when I come, that I shall come to you with abundance of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ.

³⁰ Also brethren, I beseeche you for our Lord Iesus Christes sake, and for the loue of the spirit, that ye would striue with me by prayers to God for me,

⁹ and that the gentiles glorified God for his mercy, as it is written, “For this cause I will give praise to thee among the gentiles, and sing to thy name.”

¹⁰ And again he saith: “Rejoice, ye gentiles, with his people.”

¹¹ And again: “Praise the Lord, all ye gentiles, and let every people praise him.”

¹² And again Isaiah saith: “There shall be the shoot from Jesse, and he that riseth up to rule the gentiles; in him shall the gentiles hope.”

¹³ And may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ But I myself am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye are even of yourselves full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

¹⁵ But I have written to you, brethren, in a manner somewhat bold on some subjects, as putting you in mind, on account of the grace given me by God

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus to the gentiles, performing the office of a priest in respect to the gospel of God, that the oblation of the gentiles may be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ I have then ground for glorying in Christ Jesus in regard to the things pertaining m God.

¹⁸ For I will not be bold to say anything hut of what Christ hath actually wrought by me to bring the gentiles to obedience by word and deed,

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and in the country around even to Illyricum, I have fully made known the gospel of Christ;

²⁰ but always earnestly desirous to preach it in this manner,—not where Christ had been named, that I might not build on another's foundation,

²¹ but, as it is written: “They, to whom no tidings concerning him came, shall see; and they that have not heard shall understand.”

²² For which cause also, for the most part, I have been hindered from coming to you.

²³ But now having no more opportunity in these regions, and having had for many years a great desire to come to you,

²⁴ when I go to Spain, I will come to you; for I hope to see you on my way, and to be helped forward thither by you, after I have in some degree satisfied myself with your company.

²⁵ But now I am going to Jerusalem on a service of relief to the saints.

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia have thought it good to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

²⁷ They have thought it good, and they owed it to them. For if the gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they ought in return to minister to them in temporal things.

²⁸ When therefore I have completed this business, and secured to them this fruit, I shall set out to pass through you to Spain.

²⁹ And I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.

³⁰ But I beseech you, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love produced by the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in prayers to God for me;

⁷ Therefore always receive one another as friends, just as the Christ himself received us, to the glory of God.

⁸ For I tell you that Christ, in vindication of God's truthfulness, has become a minister of the covenant of circumcision, so that he may fulfil the promises made to our ancestors,

⁹ and that the Gentiles also may praise God for his mercy. As scripture says — ‘Therefore will I make acknowledgment to you amongst the Gentiles and sing in honour of your name.’

¹⁰ And again it says — ‘Rejoice, you Gentiles, with God's people.’

¹¹ And yet again — ‘Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all Peoples sing his praises.’

¹² Again, Isaiah says — ‘There will be a Scion of the house of Jesse, One who is to arise to rule the Gentiles; on him will the Gentiles rest their hopes.’

¹³ May God, who inspires our hope, grant you perfect happiness and peace in your faith, until you are filled with this hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ I am persuaded, my friends — yes, I Paul, with regard to you — that you are yourselves full of kindness, furnished with all Christian learning, and well able to give advice to one another.

¹⁵ But in parts of this letter I have expressed myself somewhat boldly — by way of refreshing your memories —

¹⁶ because of the charge with which God has entrusted me, that I should be an assistant of Christ Jesus to go to the Gentiles — that I should act as a priest of God's good news, so that the offering up of the Gentiles may be an acceptable sacrifice, consecrated by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ It is, then, through my union with Christ Jesus that I have a proud confidence in my work for God.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of anything but what Christ has done through me to win the obedience of the Gentiles —

¹⁹ by my words and actions, through the power displayed in signs and marvels, and through the power of the Holy Spirit. And so, starting from Jerusalem and going as far as Illyria, I have told in full the good news of the Christ;

²⁰ yet always with the ambition to tell the good news where Christ's name had not previously been heard, so as to avoid building on another's foundations.

²¹ But as scripture says — ‘They to whom he had never been proclaimed will see; and they who have never heard will understand!’

²² That is why I have so often been prevented from coming to you.

²³ But now there are no further openings for me in these parts, and I have for several years been longing to come to you whenever I may be going to Spain.

²⁴ For my hope is to visit you on my journey, and then to be sent on my way by you, after I have first partly satisfied myself by seeing something of you.

²⁵ Just now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem, to take help to Christ's people there.

²⁶ For Macedonia and Greece have been glad to make a collection for the poor amongst Christ's people at Jerusalem.

²⁷ Yes, they were glad to do so; and indeed it is a duty which they owe to them. For the Gentile converts who have shared their spiritual blessings are in duty bound to minister to them in the things of this world.

²⁸ When I have settled this matter, and have secured to the poor at Jerusalem the enjoyment of these benefits, I will go, by way of you, to Spain.

²⁹ And I know that, when I come to you, it will be with a full measure of blessing from Christ.

³⁰ I beg you, then, friends, by Jesus Christ, our Lord, and by the love inspired by the Spirit, to join me in earnest prayer to God on my behalf.

⁷ Therefore always receive one another as friends, just as the Christ himself received us, to the glory of God.

⁸ For I tell you that Christ, in vindication of God's truthfulness, has become a minister of the covenant of circumcision, so that he may fulfill the promises made to our ancestors,

⁹ and that the Gentiles also may praise God for his mercy. As scripture says — ‘Therefore will I make acknowledgment to you among the Gentiles and sing in honor of your name.’

¹⁰ And again it says — ‘Rejoice, you Gentiles, with God's people.’

¹⁶ because of the charge with which God has entrusted me, that I should be an assistant of Christ Jesus to go to the Gentiles — that I should act as a priest of God's good news, so that the offering up of the Gentiles may be an acceptable sacrifice, consecrated by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ It is, then, through my union with Christ Jesus that I have a proud confidence in my work for God.

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of anything but what Christ has done through me to win the obedience of the Gentiles —

¹⁹ by my words and actions, through the power displayed in signs and marvels, and through the power of the Holy Spirit. And so, starting from Jerusalem and going as far as Illyria, I have told in full the good news of the Christ;

²⁰ yet always with the ambition to tell the good news where Christ's name had not previously been heard, so as to avoid building on another's foundations.

²¹ But as scripture says — ‘They to whom he had never been proclaimed will see; and they who have never heard will understand!’

²² That is why I have so often been prevented from coming to you.

²³ But now there are no further openings for me in these parts, and I have for several years been longing to come to you whenever I may be going to Spain.

²⁴ For my hope is to visit you on my journey, and then to be sent on my way by you, after I have first partly satisfied myself by seeing something of you.

²⁵ Just now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem, to take help to Christ's people there.

²⁶ For Macedonia and Greece have been glad to make a collection for the poor among Christ's people at Jerusalem.

²⁷ Yes, they were glad to do so; and indeed it is a duty which they owe to them. For the Gentile converts who have shared their spiritual blessings are in duty bound to minister to them in the things of this world.

²⁸ When I have settled this matter, and have secured to the poor at Jerusalem the enjoyment of these benefits, I will go, by way of you, to Spain.

²⁹ And I know that, when I come to you, it will be with a full measure of blessing from Christ.

³⁰ I beg you, then, friends, by Jesus Christ, our Lord, and by the love inspired by the Spirit, to join me in earnest prayer to God on my behalf.

⁷ So be friendly to each other, just like Jesus Christ is friendly to you. Then people will say that God is really good.

⁸ Remember this. Jesus Christ came here and worked for his own tribe, the Jewish people. A long time ago God promised some things to their elders, and later, Jesus came to show them that God will do what he promised.

⁹ And he came for the people that are not Jews too, to show them that God is good to them, so that they will thank him and tell everybody, “God is really good.” God got his men to write about this, and their words are in God's book. One of them wrote, “Alright God, I will tell all the people that are not Jews about you, And I will sing to you and say, ‘You are really great.’”

¹⁰ And another one of God's men wrote, “You mob that are not Jews can be happy, together with God’s people.”

¹¹ And another one of God's men wrote, “All you mob that are not Jews can say, ‘God is really great,’ And all the people everywhere can say, ‘God is really good.’”

¹² And another one of God’s men, called Isaiah, wrote, “A Jewish man from Jesse’s family will get up and he will be the leader of all the people that are not Jews. They will be sure about him and trust him.”

¹³ You see, you can be sure about God. So now I ask him to help you trust him properly, and to make you really happy, and really quiet and settled inside yourselves. Then you will be really sure that God will do everything that he said he will do. The Holy Spirit will use his power to do that.

¹⁴ My friends, I’m sure that you know these things that I tell you now in this letter. Before I started to write this letter I remembered that you are good people and that you know a lot, and you even teach each other about these things. But I got brave and started to write to you anyway, to get you to think a bit more about some of these things. God is good to me

¹⁶ and he picked me out to be a special worker for Jesus Christ. My job is to tell the good news about Jesus to you mob that are not Jews. Then God’s spirit works in you to make you good and right, and God is really happy with you. It is like I give you to God, like a really good present.

¹⁷ So I’m happy to tell everybody about things that Jesus Christ has helped me do in my work for God.

¹⁸ But I’m not happy to tell about things that I did just by myself. I just want to tell about whatever Jesus Christ did. He used me, but he is the one who did it. He got me to tell his true message to people that don’t know God, and his Holy Spirit got me to do powerful things too. After they heard my message and saw the things I did they turned around and believed God. I started to tell people in Jerusalem the good message about Jesus Christ and I kept telling people that message everywhere I went, right out to Illyricum.

²⁰ I always want to tell that good story to people that have never heard about Jesus Christ. I don’t want to wait for somebody else to tell them first so that later I can tell them more. No, I want to go and tell them myself.

²¹ It is like this, like we read in God’s book, “There are people that have never heard about God. Nobody ever told them anything about him. But they will hear this message about him and they will understand it.”

³⁰ My friends, I want you to really pray to God with me. You believe in our leader, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit gets us to love each other, so please pray for me.

⁷ Wherfore receave ye one another as Christ receaved vs to the prayse of God.

⁸ And I saye that Iesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the trueth of god to conferme the promyses made vnto the fathers.

⁹ And let the gentyls prayse god for his mercy as it is written: For this cause I will prayse the amonge the gentyls and synge in thy name.

¹⁰ And agayne, he sayth: reioyse ye gentyles with his people.

¹¹ And agayne, prayse the Lorde all ye gentyls and laude him all nacions.

¹² And in another place Esaias sayth: ther shalbe the rote of Iesse and he that shall ryse to raygne over the gentyls: in him shall the gentyls trust.

¹³ The God of hope fyll you with all ioye and peace in belevynge: that ye maye be ryche in hope thorowe the power of the holy goost.

¹⁴ I my selfe am full certified of you my brethren that ye youre selves are full of goodnes and filled with all knowledge and are able to exhorte one another.

¹⁵ Neverthelesse brethren I have some what boldly written vnto you as one that putteth you in remembraunce thorow the grace that is geven me of God

¹⁶ that I shuld be the minister of Iesu Christ amonge the gentyls and shuld minister the gladde tydynges of God that the gentyls myght be an acceptable offerynge sanctyfied by the holy goost.

¹⁷ I have therfore wherof I maye reioyse in Christ Iesu in tho thinges which pertayne to God.

¹⁸ For I dare not speake of eny of tho thinges which Christ hath not wrought by me to make the gentyls obedient with worde and dede

¹⁹ in myghty signes and wonders by the power of the sprete of God: so that from Ierusalem and the costes rounde aboute vnto Illyricum I have fylled all countres with the gladde tydynges of Christ.

²⁰ So have I enforsed my selfe to preache the gospell not where Christ was named lest I shuld have bylt on another mannes foundacion:

²¹ but as it is written: To whom he was not spoken of they shall se: and they that hearde not shall vnderstonde.

²² For this cause I have bene ofte let to come vnto you:

²³ but now seynge I have no moare to do in these countres and also have bene desyrous many yeares to come vnto you

²⁴ when I shall take my iorney into spayne I will come to you. I trust to se you in my iorney and to be brought on my waye thither warde by you after that I have somwhat enioyed you.

²⁵ Now go I vnto Ierusalem and minister vnto the saynctes.

²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certayne distribucion vpo the poore saynctes which are at Ierusalem.

²⁷ It hath pleased them verely and their detters are they. For yf the getils be made partetakers of their spirituall thinges their dutie is to minister vnto the in carnall thinges.

²⁸ When I have performed this and have brought them this frute sealed. I will come backe agayne by you into Spayne.

²⁹ And I am sure when I come that I shall come with aboundaunce of the blessinge of the gospell of Christ.

³⁰ I beseche you brethren for oure Lorde Iesus Christes sake and for the love of the sprete that ye helpe me in my busynes with youre prayers to God for me

¹¹ And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the peoples praise him.”

¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace for believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will have hope.

¹⁴ I myself am also convinced about you, my brothers. I am convinced that also you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge. I am convinced that you are also able to exhort one another.

¹⁵ But I am writing more boldly to you about some things in order to remind you again, because of the grace given me by God.

¹⁶ This gift was that I should be a servant of Christ Jesus sent to the Gentiles, to offer as a priest the gospel of God. I should do this so that the offering of the Gentiles might become acceptable, consecrated by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ In Christ Jesus I have reason to boast of my service for God.

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Holy Spirit. This was so that from Jerusalem, and round about as far as Illyricum, I might fully carry out the gospel of Christ.

²⁰ In this way, my desire has been to proclaim the gospel, but not where Christ is known by name, in order that I might not build upon another man's foundation.

²¹ It is as it is written: “Those to whom no tidings of him came will see him, and those who have not heard will understand.”

²² Therefore I was also hindered many times from coming to you.

²³ But now, I no longer have any place in these regions, and I have been longing for many years to come to you.

²⁴ I am hopeful that I will see you in passing when I go to Spain, and to be helped by you along my journey there, once I have enjoyed your company for a while.

²⁵ But now I am going to Jerusalem, bringing aid to the believers.

²⁶ For it was the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution to the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem.

²⁷ Yes, it was their good pleasure, and, indeed, they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to serve them in material things.

²⁸ Therefore, when I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received what was collected, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way.

²⁹ I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.

³⁰ Now I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me.

¹⁰ And again he saith, Ye heathen men, be ye glad or joy with his people.

¹¹ And again, All heathen men, praise ye the Lord; and all peoples, magnify ye him.

¹² And again Isaiah saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, that shall rise up to govern heathen men, and heathen men shall hope in him.

¹³ And God of hope full-fill you in all joy and peace in believing, that ye increase or abound in hope and virtue of the Holy Ghost.

¹⁶ that I be the minister of Christ Jesus among heathen men. And I hallow the gospel of God, that the offering of heathen men be accepted or be made acceptable, and hallowed in the Holy Ghost.

¹⁷ Therefore I have glory in Christ Jesus to God.

¹⁸ For I dare not speak anything of those things, which Christ doeth not by me, into obedience of heathen men, in word and deeds,

¹⁹ in virtue of tokens and great wonders, in virtue of the Holy Ghost, so that from Jerusalem by compass to the Illyricum sea or till unto Illyricum, I have full-filled the gospel of Christ.

²⁰ And so I have preached this gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I build upon another’s ground,

²¹ but as it is written, For to whom it is not told of him, they shall see, and they that heard not, shall understand.

²² For which thing I was hindered full much to come to you, and I am hindered till to this time.

²³ And now I have not further place, or cause of longer dwelling, in these countries, but I have desire to come to you, of many years that now be passed.

²⁴ When I begin to pass into Spain, I hope that in my going I shall see you, and of you I shall be led thither, if I shall use you first in part.

²⁵ Therefore now I shall pass forth to Jerusalem, to minister to saints.

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia have assayed to make some gift, or some collection, or gathering of money, to poor men of saints, that be in Jerusalem.

²⁷ For it pleased to them, and they be debtors of them; for if heathen men be made partners of their ghostly things, they owe also in fleshly things to minister to them.

²⁸ Therefore when I have ended this thing, and have assigned to them this fruit, I shall pass by you into Spain.

²⁹ And I know, that I coming to you, shall come in the abundance, or plenty, of the blessing of Christ.

³⁰ Therefore, brethren, I beseech you by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the charity of the Holy Ghost, that ye help me in your prayers for me to the Lord,

⁷ For which thing take ye together, as also Christ took you into the honour of God. (For which thing accept one another, as also the Messiah hath accepted you, for the honour or the glory of God.)

⁸ For I say, that Jesus Christ was a minister (or a servant) of (the) circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises of (the) fathers.

⁹ And (the) heathen men owe to honour God for mercy (or And the Gentiles ought to honour God for his mercy); as it is written, Therefore, Lord, I shall acknowledge to thee among (the) heathen men, and I shall sing to thy name.

¹⁰ And again he saith, Ye heathen men, be ye glad or (make) joy with his people. (And again it saith, Ye Gentiles, rejoice with his people!)

¹¹ And again, All heathen men, praise ye the Lord; and all peoples, magnify ye him. (And again, All the Gentiles, praise the Lord; yea, all the peoples, praise him.)

¹² And again Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, that shall rise up to govern heathen men, and heathen men shall (have) hope in him. (And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, that shall rise up to govern the Gentiles, and the Gentiles shall have hope in him.)

¹³ And God of hope full-fill you in all joy and peace in believing, that ye increase or ye abound in hope and virtue of the Holy Ghost. (And may the God of hope fill you full with all joy and peace by your believing, or by your faith in him, so that ye increase or abound in the hope and the power of the Holy Spirit.)

¹⁴ And, brethren, I myself am certain of you, that also ye be full of love, and ye be full-filled with all cunning, (or with all knowing), or with all science, so that ye may admonish each other. (And, brothers, I myself am certain about you, that ye also be full of love, and that ye be filled full with all knowledge, so that ye can admonish one another.)

¹⁵ And, brethren, more boldly I wrote to you a part, as bringing you into mind, for the grace that is given to me of God, (And, brothers, more boldly I wrote to you in part, as bringing you into remembrance, of the gift that is given to me by God,)

¹⁶ that I be the minister of Christ Jesus among heathen men. And I hallow the gospel of God, that the offering of heathen men be accepted or be made acceptable, and hallowed in the Holy Ghost. (that I be the servant of the Messiah Jesus among the Gentiles. And I consecrate the Gospel, or the Good News, of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles be made acceptable, and consecrated by the Holy Spirit.)

¹⁷ Therefore I have glory in Christ Jesus to God. (And so I have glory in the Messiah Jesus to God.)

¹⁸ For I dare not speak anything of those things, which Christ doeth not by me, into obedience of (the) heathen men, in word and deeds, (For I dare not say anything about those things, which the Messiah doeth not by me, to bring the Gentiles into obedience to God, by word and deed,)

¹⁹ in virtue of tokens and great wonders, in virtue of the Holy Ghost, so that from Jerusalem by compass to the Illyricum sea or till unto Illyricum, I have full-filled the gospel of Christ. (by the power of miracles, or signs, and great wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit, so that from Jerusalem all around unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the Gospel, or the Good News, of the Messiah.)

²⁰ And so I have preached this gospel, not where Christ was named, (or not where the Messiah hath already been spoken of, or not where the Messiah hath already been heard of), lest I build upon another’s ground,

²¹ but as it is written, For to whom it is not told of him, they shall see, and they that heard not, shall understand.

²² For which thing I was hindered full much to come to you, and I am hindered till to this time.

²⁵ Therefore now I shall pass forth to Jerusalem, to minister to (the) saints. (But now I shall go forth to Jerusalem, to serve God’s people.)

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia have assayed to make some gift, or some collection, or (a) gathering of money, to (the) poor men of (the) saints, that be in Jerusalem. (For the churches in Macedonia and in Achaia have decided to make a gift of some money, for those of God’s people in Jerusalem who be poor.)

²⁷ For it pleased to them, and they be debtors of them; for if heathen men be made partners of their ghostly things, they owe also in fleshly things to minister to them. (For it pleased them to do this, and they be their debtors; for if the Gentiles be made the partners of their spiritual things, then they, the Gentiles, ought also to serve them with fleshly things.)

²⁸ Therefore when I have ended this thing, and have assigned to them this fruit, I shall pass by you into Spain (or I shall pass by you as I go to Spain).

²⁹ And I know, that I coming to you, shall come in the abundance, or (in the) plenty, of the blessing of Christ. (And I know, that when I come, I shall come with a full measure of the Messiah’s blessing.)

³⁰ Therefore, brethren, I beseech you by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the charity of the Holy Ghost, that ye help me in your prayers for me to the Lord, (And so, brothers, I beseech you by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Holy Spirit, that ye help me by your prayers for me to the Lord,)

⁷ wherefore receive ye one another, according as also the Christ did receive us, to the glory of God.

⁸ And I say Jesus Christ to have become a ministrant of circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises to the fathers,

⁹ and the nations for kindness to glorify God, according as it hath been written, 'Because of this I will confess to Thee among nations, and to Thy name I will sing praise,'

¹⁰ and again it saith, 'Rejoice ye nations, with His people;'

¹¹ and again, 'Praise the Lord, all ye nations; and laud Him, all ye peoples;'

¹² and again, Isaiah saith, 'There shall be the root of Jesse, and he who is rising to rule nations — upon him shall nations hope;'

¹³ and the God of the hope shall fill you with all joy and peace in the believing, for your abounding in the hope in power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ And I am persuaded, my brethren — I myself also — concerning you, that ye yourselves also are full of goodness, having been filled with all knowledge, able also one another to admonish;

¹⁵ and the more boldly I did write to you, brethren, in part, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me by God,

¹⁶ for my being a servant of Jesus Christ to the nations, acting as priest in the good news of God, that the offering up of the nations may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ I have, then, a boasting in Christ Jesus, in the things pertaining to God,

¹⁸ for I will not dare to speak anything of the things that Christ did not work through me, to obedience of nations, by word and deed,

¹⁹ in power of signs and wonders, in power of the Spirit of God; so that I, from Jerusalem, and in a circle as far as Illyricum, have fully preached the good news of the Christ;

²⁰ and so counting it honour to proclaim good news, not where Christ was named — that upon another's foundation I might not build —

²¹ but according as it hath been written, 'To whom it was not told concerning him, they shall see; and they who have not heard, shall understand.'

²² Wherefore, also, I was hindered many times from coming unto you,

²³ and now, no longer having place in these parts, and having a longing to come unto you for many years,

²⁴ when I may go on to Spain I will come unto you, for I hope in going through, to see you, and by you to be set forward thither, if of you first, in part, I shall be filled.

²⁵ And, now, I go on to Jerusalem, ministering to the saints;

²⁶ for it pleased Macedonia and Achaia well to make a certain contribution for the poor of the saints who are in Jerusalem;

²⁷ for it pleased well, and their debtors they are, for if in their spiritual things the nations did participate, they ought also, in the fleshly things, to minister to them.

²⁸ This, then, having finished, and having sealed to them this fruit, I will return through you, to Spain;

²⁹ and I have known that coming unto you — in the fulness of the blessing of the good news of Christ I shall come.

³⁰ And I call upon you, brethren, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in the prayers for me unto God,
