Romans 11:8-24 in American Standard Version (1901)

8 according as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this very day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, And a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, And bow thou down their back always.
11 I say then, Did they stumble that they might fall? God forbid: but by their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if their fall is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 But I speak to you that are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I glorify my ministry;
14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy them that are my flesh, and may save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them is the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 And if the firstfruit is holy, so is the lump: and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root of the fatness of the olive tree;
18 glory not over the branches: but if thou gloriest, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 for if God spared not the natural branches, neither will he spare thee.
22 Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God’s goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Romans 11:8-24 in King James (Authorized) Version

8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

Romans 11:8-24 in Translation for Translators

8 Our fellow Jews are just like the ones about whom Isaiah wrote, God ◄caused their senses to be dull/made them unable to think clearly►. Up to this very day, they have eyes but they cannot see spiritually MET. They have ears, but they cannot understand spiritually what they hear.
9 And they remind me of what King David said, when he asked God to cause his enemies' senses to be dull MET, Make them stupid MTY, like animals that are caught in snares! May they feel secure because of the things that they enjoy but which will catch them like a trap DOU, MET, with the result that you will destroy them.
10 May their ability to perceive danger be dulled {Dull their ability to perceive spiritually} MET, with the result that they will not become alarmed MET when there is danger. May you cause them to carry heavy loads on their backs continually as slaves do MTY.
11 Perhaps someone will ask, “ When the Jews sinned by not believing in Christ, did it result in their separating themselves from God permanently?” Then I would reply, No, they have certainly not separated themselves from God permanently!add*! What is happening is that because they sinned, God is saving non-Jews in order to cause the Jews to envy the way he blesses non-Jews and so ask Christ to save them.
12 When the Jews sinned (OR, rejected Christ), the result was that God abundantly blessed other people in MTY the world by offering them the opportunity to believe. And when the Jews failed spiritually, the result was that God abundantly blessed the non-Jews. Since that is true, think how wonderful it will be when the complete number of the Jews whom God has chosen will believe in Christ RHQ!
13 Now it is to you non-Jews that I am saying what follows. I am the one who is the apostle to non-Jews, and I highly esteem this work that God appointed me to do.
14 But I also hope that by my labors I will make my fellow Jews ◄jealous/want what you non-Jews have►, with the result that some of them will believe and be saved.
15 God has rejected most of my fellow Jews because they refused to believe, with the result that he reconciled many other people in the world MTY to himself. But he will accept my fellow Jews again when they trust in Christ! And ◄this is what the result will be./do you know what the result will be?► RHQ It will be as though God is making them alive again after they have been dead!
16 Just like the whole lump of dough will belong to God if people offer to God MET the bread baked from the first part of it MET, so the Jews will belong to God because their ancestors belonged to God. And just like the branches of a tree will be good if the roots aregood MET, so the descendants of our great Jewish ancestors who belonged to God will also some day belong to God.
17 God has rejected many of the Jews MET, like branches of a tree are broken off { like people break off dead branches of a tree}. And each of you non-Jews whom God has accepted is like MET a branch of a wild/uncultivated olive tree that was { that someone} grafted among the branches (OR, onto one of the branches) that were left on a cultivated olive tree. God has caused you to benefit from how he blessed our(exc) first Jewish ancestors, as branches benefit from the nutritious sap from the roots of a cultivated olive tree MET.
18 However, you non-Jews must not despise the Jews whom God rejected MET, who are like the branches that were broken off from the tree If any of you wants to boast about having received blessings from God, remember this: Branches do not nourish the roots. Instead the roots nourish the branches MET. Similarly, you are blessed by God because of what you have received from the Jews! It is not what the Jews have received from you that blesses them MET!
19 If one of you then says, “ God rejected the Jews MET like branches MET that are broken {that people broke} off a tree and rejected, in order that he might accept us non-Jews, as branches MET of a tree are grafted in { as people graft in branches of a tree},”
20 I would reply that this is true. However, it is because the Jews did not believe in Christ that they were rejected MET {that God rejected MET them}. As for you, it is only because you believe in Christ that God has accepted you! So do not any of you become proud, but instead beware of what could happen to you
21 Since God did not spare the unbelieving Jews MET who were like a tree's natural branches, he will not spare any of you if you do not keep trusting in him!
22 Note then, that God acts kindly, but he also acts severely. He has acted severely toward the Jews who have stopped trusting in him. On the other hand, he acts kindly toward each of you non-Jews only if you continue to appreciate his acting kindly toward you. However, you will be rejected { he will reject you} if you do not keep trusting in him.
23 And if the Jews believe in Christ LIT, God also will reunite them to himself as branches are grafted { as people graft branches} into a tree again, because God is able to do that.
24 Each of you non-Jews who were previously separated from God has benefited from the ways in which God blessed the Jews MET. That is like taking branches that have been cut {that someone has cut} from a wild olive tree that just grew without being planted { someone planting it} and, contrary to what people usually do, grafting them into a cultivated olive tree. So God will much more readily receive back the Jews because they belonged to him before MET! That will be like the original branches that had been cut off being grafted {like grafting the original branches that someone cut off,} back into the olive tree to which they originally belonged!

Romans 11:8-24 in Bible in Basic English

8 As it was said in the holy Writings, God gave them a spirit of sleep, eyes which might not see, and ears which have no hearing, to this day.
9 And David says, Let their table be made a net for taking them, and a stone in their way, and a punishment:
10 Let their eyes be made dark so that they may not see, and let their back be bent down at all times.
11 So I say, Were their steps made hard in order that they might have a fall? In no way: but by their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, so that they might be moved to envy.
12 Now, if their fall is the wealth of the world, and their loss the wealth of the Gentiles, how much greater will be the glory when they are made full?
13 But I say to you, Gentiles, in so far as I am the Apostle of the Gentiles, I make much of my position:
14 If in any way those who are of my flesh may be moved to envy, so that some of them may get salvation by me.
15 For, if by their putting away, the rest of men have been made friends with God, what will their coming back again be, but life from the dead?
16 And if the first-fruit is holy, so is the mass: and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, an olive-tree of the fields, were put in among them, and were given a part with them in the root by which the olive-tree is made fertile,
18 Do not be uplifted in pride over the branches: because it is not you who are the support of the root, but it is by the root that you are supported.
19 You will say, Branches were broken off so that I might be put in.
20 Truly, because they had no faith they were broken off, and you have your place by reason of your faith. Do not be lifted up in pride, but have fear;
21 For, if God did not have mercy on the natural branches, he will not have mercy on you.
22 See then that God is good but his rules are fixed: to those who were put away he was hard, but to you he has been good, on the condition that you keep in his mercy; if not, you will be cut off as they were.
23 And they, if they do not go on without faith, will be united to the tree again, because God is able to put them in again.
24 For if you were cut out of a field olive-tree, and against the natural use were united to a good olive-tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be united again with the olive-tree which was theirs?

Romans 11:8-24 in Darby Translation

8 according as it is written, God has given to them a spirit of slumber, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear, unto this day.
9 And David says, Let their table be for a snare, and for a gin, and for a fall-trap, and for a recompense to them:
10 let their eyes be darkened not to see, and bow down their back alway.
11 I say then, Have they stumbled in order that they might fall? Far be the thought: but by their fall there is salvation to the nations to provoke them to jealousy.
12 But if their fall be the world's wealth, and their loss the wealth of the nations, how much rather their fulness?
13 For I speak to you, the nations, inasmuch as I am apostle of nations, I glorify my ministry;
14 if by any means I shall provoke to jealousy them which are my flesh, and shall save some from among them.
15 For if their casting away be the world's reconciliation, what their reception but life from among the dead?
16 Now if the first-fruit be holy, the lump also; and if the root be holy, the branches also.
17 Now if some of the branches have been broken out, and thou, being a wild olive tree, hast been grafted in amongst them, and hast become a fellow-partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree,
18 boast not against the branches; but if thou boast, it is not thou bearest the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches have been broken out in order that I might be grafted in.
20 Right: they have been broken out through unbelief, and thou standest through faith. Be not high-minded, but fear:
21 if God indeed has not spared the natural branches; lest it might be he spare not thee either.
22 Behold then the goodness and severity of God: upon them who have fallen, severity; upon thee goodness of God, if thou shalt abide in goodness, since otherwise thou also wilt be cut away.
23 And they too, if they abide not in unbelief, shall be grafted in; for God is able again to graft them in.
24 For if thou hast been cut out of the olive tree wild by nature, and, contrary to nature, hast been grafted into the good olive tree, how much rather shall they, who are according to nature be grafted into their own olive tree?

Romans 11:8-24 in Douay-Rheims 1899

8 As it is written: God hath given them the spirit of insensibility; eyes that they should not see; and ears that they should not hear, until this present day.
9 And David saith: Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompense unto them.
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see: and bow down their back always.
11 I say then, have they so stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid. But by their offence, salvation is come to the Gentiles, that they may be emulous of them.
12 Now if the offence of them be the riches of the world, and the diminution of them, the riches of the Gentiles; how much more the fulness of them?
13 For I say to you, Gentiles: as long indeed as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I will honour my ministry,
14 If, by any means, I may provoke to emulation them who are my flesh, and may save some of them.
15 For if the loss of them be the reconciliation of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, so is the lump also: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches be broken, and thou, being a wild olive, art ingrafted in them, and art made partaker of the root, and of the fatness of the olive tree,
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then: The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Well: because of unbelief they were broken off. But thou standest by faith: be not highminded, but fear.
21 For if God hath not spared the natural branches, fear lest perhaps he also spare not thee.
22 See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God, if thou abide in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if thou wert cut out of the wild olive tree, which is natural to thee; and, contrary to nature, were grafted into the good olive tree; how much more shall they that are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

8 Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, down to this very day.”
9 And David says: “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a recompense to them.
10 Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever!”
11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? By no means! But by their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
12 But if their transgression is riches for the world, and their defeat is riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness be!
13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am indeed an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,
14 if somehow I may provoke to jealousy my fellow Jews, and thus save some of them.
15 For if their casting away means reconciliation for the world, what will their acceptance be, if not life from the dead?

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”
20 That is true. By unbelief they were broken off, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but fear.
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, perhaps He may not spare you either.
22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God: upon those that fell, severity; but upon you, kindness, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also shall be cut off.
23 And they also, if they do not remain in unbelief, shall be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more shall these, the natural ones, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Romans 11:8-24 in The New Testament with Commentary

8 Just as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that were not to see and ears that were not to hear, to this very day.”
9 And David says: “Let their table be made into a snare and into a trap, into a stumbling block and into a retribution to them.
10 Let their eyes be darkened so as not to see, and their back always be bowed down.”
11 So now I say, surely they have not stumbled so as to fall and stay fallen? Of course not! Rather, through their transgression the salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss riches for the nations, how much more their fulfillment!
13 So I am speaking to you Gentiles (inasmuch as I am ‘apostle to the Gentiles’, I magnify my ministry),
14 if somehow I can provoke my own people to jealousy and save some of them.
15 For if their being rejected means reconciliation for the world, what will their restoration be but life from the dead?
16 Now if the ‘firstfruit’ is holy, so is the whole batch; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 Now if some of the branches were broken off, while you, being a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among them, and with them have become a partaker of the root and the rich sap of the cultivated olive,
18 do not boast against those branches (since if you do boast—it is not you who support the root but the root you).
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”
20 Granted. Because of unbelief they were broken off, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but fear!
21 Because if God did not spare the natural branches, perhaps He will not spare you either!
22 So consider the kindness and severity of God: upon those who fell, severity; but toward you, kindness, if you continue in that kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off.
23 And even they, if they do not persist in the unbelief, will be grafted back in, because God has the power to graft them in again.
24 For if you were cut out of a wild by nature olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

8 As Scripture says, “God dulled their minds so their eyes could not see and their ears could not hear, to this very day.”

10 May their eyes become blind so they cannot see, and may their backs always be bent low in dejection.”
11 So am I saying that they stumbled and consequently failed completely? Not at all! But as a result of their mistakes, salvation came to other nations, to “make them jealous.”
12 Now if even their failure benefits the world, and their loss profits the foreigners, how much more beneficial it would be if they were to completely fulfill what they were meant to be.
13 Now let me speak to you foreigners. Insofar as I'm a missionary to foreigners, I promote what I'm doing
14 that somehow I might make my people jealous and save some of them.
15 If the result of God's rejection of them is that the world becomes God's friends, the result of God's acceptance of them would be like the dead coming back to life!
16 If the first part of the bread dough given as an offering is holy, then so is all the rest; if the roots of a tree are holy, then so are the branches.
17 Now if some of the branches have been broken off, and you—a wild olive shoot—have been grafted in, and have shared with them the benefit of nourishment from the olive tree's roots,
18 then you shouldn't look down on the other branches. If you're tempted to boast, remember it's not you who are supporting the roots, but the roots that are supporting you.
19 You could make the claim, “Branches were broken off so I could be grafted in.”
20 All well and good—but they were broken off because of their failure to trust in God, and you stay there because you trust in God. So don't think highly of yourselves, but be respectful,
21 because if God didn't spare the original branches, he won't spare you either.
22 You should recognize both God's kindness and toughness—he was tough on the fallen, but God is kind to you so long as you trust in his kindness—otherwise you'll be removed too.
23 If they no longer refuse to trust in God, they can be grafted in as well, for God is able to graft them back in again.
24 If you could be cut from a wild olive tree, and then be grafted artificially onto a cultivated olive tree, how much more easily they could be grafted back naturally to their own tree.

8 According as it is written, God hath giuen them the spirit of slumber: eyes that they should not see, and eares that they should not heare vnto this day.
9 And Dauid sayth, Let their table be made a snare, and a net, and a stumbling blocke, euen for a recompence vnto them.
10 Let their eyes be darkened that they see not, and bowe downe their backe alwayes.
11 I demaund then, Haue they stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid: but through their fall, saluation commeth vnto the Gentiles, to prouoke them to follow them.
12 Wherefore if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles, how much more shall their aboundance be?
13 For in that I speake to you Gentiles, in as much as I am the Apostle of ye Gentiles, I magnifie mine office,
14 To trie if by any meanes I might prouoke them of my flesh to follow them, and might saue some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiuing be, but life from the dead?
16 For if the first fruites be holy, so is the whole lumpe: and if the roote be holy, so are the branches.
17 And though some of the branches be broken off, and thou being a wilde Oliue tree, wast graft in for them, and made partaker of the roote, and fatnesse of the Oliue tree.

22 Beholde therefore the bountifulnesse, and seueritie of God: towarde them which haue fallen, seueritie: but toward thee, bountifulnesse, if thou continue in his bountifulnesse: or els thou shalt also be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in vnbeliefe, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graffe them in againe.
24 For if thou wast cut out of the Oliue tree, which was wilde by nature, and wast graffed contrary to nature in a right Oliue tree, how much more shall they that are by nature, bee graffed in their owne Oliue tree?

11 I ask then — ‘Was their stumbling to result in their fall?’ Heaven forbid! On the contrary, through their falling away salvation has reached the Gentiles, to stir the rivalry of Israel.
12 And, if their falling away has enriched the world, and their failure has enriched the Gentiles, how much more will result from their full restoration!
13 But I am speaking to you who were Gentiles.

8 As it is written, God gave to them a spirit of compunction, eyes that they see not, and ears, that they hear not, into this day.
9 And David saith, Be the board of them made into a snare before them, and into catching, and into cause of stumbling, and into yielding again to them.
10 Be the eyes of them made dark, that they see not; and bow thou down always the back of them.
11 Therefore I say, Whether they offended so, that they should fall down? God forbid. But by the guilt of them health is made to heathen men, that they pursue them.
12 That if the guilt of them be riches of the world, and the making less or the diminishing of them be riches of heathen men, how much more the plenty of them?
13 But I say to you, heathen men, for as long as I am apostle of heathen men, I shall honour my ministry or my service,
14 if in any manner I stir my flesh for to follow, and that I make some of them safe.
15 For if the loss of them is the reconciling of the world, what is the taking up of them, but life of dead men? or but life to dead?
16 For if a little part of that that is tasted be holy, the whole gobbet is holy; and if the root is holy, also the branches.
17 What if any of the branches be broken, when thou were a wild olive tree, art grafted or art set in among them, and art made fellow of the root, and of the fatness of the olive tree,
18 do not thou have glory against the branches. For if thou gloriest, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Therefore thou sayest, The branches be broken, that I be grafted in or I be inset.
20 Well, for unbelief the branches be broken; but thou standest by faith. Do not thou understand or savour high things, but dread thou,
21 for if God spared not the kindly branches, see thou lest peradventure he spare not thee.
22 Therefore see the goodness, and the fierceness of God; yea, the fierceness into them that fell down, but the goodness of God into thee, if thou dwellest in goodness, else also thou shalt be cut down.
23 Yea, and they shall be set in or shall be inset, if they dwell not in unbelief. For God is mighty, to set them in again.
24 For if thou art cut down of the kindly wild olive tree, and against kind art set into a good olive tree, how much more they that be by kind, shall be set in their olive tree?

Romans 11:8-24 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling (Enhanced)

8 As it is written, God gave to them a spirit of compunction, eyes that they see not, and ears, that they hear not, into this day.
9 And David saith, Be the board of them made into a snare before them (or Let their table, or their feasts, be made into a snare for them), and into catching, and into (a) cause of stumbling, and into yielding again to them.
10 Be the eyes of them made dark, (so) that they see not; and bow thou down always the back of them.
11 Therefore I say, Whether they offended so, that they should fall down? God forbid. But by the guilt of them health is made to heathen men, that they, (the Israelites), (pur)sue them, (or But because of their guilt, salvation hath come to the Gentiles, so that they, the Israelites, follow them).
12 (So) That if the guilt of them be (the) riches of the world, and the making less or the diminishing of them be (the) riches of heathen men (or of the Gentiles), how much more the plenty of them?
13 But I say to you, heathen men, for as long as I am (an) apostle of heathen men, I shall honour my ministry or my service, (But I say to you, Gentiles, that as long as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I shall give honour to my ministry,)
14 if in any manner I stir my flesh for to follow, and that I make some of them safe (or and that I save some of them).
15 For if the loss of them is the reconciling of the world, what is the taking up of them, but (the giving of) life of dead men? +or no but (the giving of) life to (the) dead? (or nothing less than the giving of life to the dead! or the giving of life from the dead!)
16 For if a little part of that that is tasted be holy, the whole gobbet is holy; and if the root is holy, also the branches.
17 What if any of the branches be broken, when thou were a wild olive tree, art grafted or art set in among them, and art made (a) fellow of the root, and of the fatness of the olive tree,
18 do not thou have glory (or boast) against the branches. For if thou gloriest (or For if thou boastest), thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Therefore thou sayest, The branches be broken, (so) that I be grafted in or so that I be inset.
20 Well, for unbelief the branches be broken; but thou standest by faith. Do not thou understand or savour high things, but dread thou (them), (or fear them),
21 for if God spared not the kindly branches (or for if God did not spare the natural branches), see thou lest peradventure he spare not thee.
22 Therefore see the goodness, and the fierceness of God; yea, the fierceness into them that fell down, but the goodness of God into thee, if thou dwellest in goodness, else also thou shalt be cut down.
23 Yea, and they shall be set in or they shall be inset, if they dwell not in unbelief. For God is mighty, to set them in again.
24 For if thou art cut down of the kindly wild olive tree, and against kind art set into a good olive tree, how much more they that be by kind, shall be set in their olive tree? (For if thou art cut down from the naturally wild olive tree, and against nature art grafted into a good or a cultivated olive tree, how much more then they who be of that very nature, shall be able to be grafted into their olive tree?)

Romans 11:8-24 in Young's Literal Translation

8 according as it hath been written, 'God gave to them a spirit of deep sleep, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear,' — unto this very day,
9 and David saith, 'Let their table become for a snare, and for a trap, and for a stumbling-block, and for a recompense to them;
10 let their eyes be darkened — not to behold, and their back do Thou always bow down.'
11 I say, then, Did they stumble that they might fall? let it not be! but by their fall the salvation is to the nations, to arouse them to jealousy;
12 and if the fall of them is the riches of a world, and the diminution of them the riches of nations, how much more the fulness of them?
13 For to you I speak — to the nations — inasmuch as I am indeed an apostle of nations, my ministration I do glorify;
14 if by any means I shall arouse to jealousy mine own flesh, and shall save some of them,
15 for if the casting away of them is a reconciliation of the world, what the reception — if not life out of the dead?
16 and if the first-fruit is holy, the lump also; and if the root is holy, the branches also.
17 And if certain of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wast graffed in among them, and a fellow-partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree didst become —
18 do not boast against the branches; and if thou dost boast, thou dost not bear the root, but the root thee!
19 Thou wilt say, then, 'The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in;' right!
20 by unbelief they were broken off, and thou hast stood by faith; be not high-minded, but be fearing;
21 for if God the natural branches did not spare — lest perhaps He also shall not spare thee.
22 Lo, then, goodness and severity of God — upon those indeed who fell, severity; and upon thee, goodness, if thou mayest remain in the goodness, otherwise, thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And those also, if they may not remain in unbelief, shall be graffed in, for God is able again to graff them in;
24 for if thou, out of the olive tree, wild by nature, wast cut out, and, contrary to nature, wast graffed into a good olive tree, how much rather shall they, who are according to nature, be graffed into their own olive tree?
