³ She hath sent forth her maidens; She crieth upon the highest places of the city:

⁴ Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: As for him that is void of understanding, she saith to him,

⁵ Come, eat ye of my bread, And drink of the wine which I have mingled.

⁶ Leave off, ye simple ones, and live; And walk in the way of understanding.

⁷ He that correcteth a scoffer getteth to himself reviling; And he that reproveth a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

⁸ Reprove not a scoffer, lest he hate thee: Reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.

⁹ Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

¹⁰ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

¹¹ For by me thy days shall be multiplied, And the years of thy life shall be increased.

⁴ Whoso is foolish, let him turn aside to me: and to them that want understanding she says,

⁶ Leave folly, that ye may reign for ever; and seek wisdom, and improve understanding by knowledge.

⁷ He that reproves evil men shall get dishonour to himself; and he that rebukes an ungodly man shall disgrace himself.

⁸ Rebuke not evil men, lest they should hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

⁹ Give an opportunity to a wise man, and he will be wiser: instruct a just man, and he will receive more instruction.

¹⁰ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the counsel of saints is understanding:

^10a for to know the law is the character of a sound mind.

³ It is as though then she sent out her servant women to call out from the highest place in the town,

⁴ “You people who need to understand more, come in!” And to those who are ignorant, it is as though she calls out,

⁵ “Come and eat the food that I have prepared, and drink the good wine that I have mixed!

⁶ ◄Leave/Go away from► other foolish people, and if you do that, you will continue to live. Walk on the road that will enable you to ◄have knowledge/know what is true and what is not true►.”

⁷ If you rebuke someone who will not allow others to correct him, he will insult you. If you reprove/scold an evil man, he will hurt you.

⁸ Do not rebuke someone who will not allow others to ◄correct him/tell him what he has done is wrong►, because he will hate you for doing that. But if you rebuke a wise person, he will respect you.

⁹ If you give instruction to wise people, they will become wiser. And if you teach righteous people, they will learn more.

¹⁰ If you want to be wise, you must start by revering Yahweh, and if you know God, the Holy One, you will understand which teachings are wise/true.

¹¹ If you become wise, you will live many years DOU.

⁶ Give up the simple ones and have life, and go in the way of knowledge.

⁷ He who gives teaching to a man of pride gets shame for himself; he who says sharp words to a sinner gets a bad name.

⁸ Do not say sharp words to a man of pride, or he will have hate for you; make them clear to a wise man, and you will be dear to him.

⁹ Give teaching to a wise man, and he will become wiser; give training to an upright man, and his learning will be increased.

¹⁰ The fear of the Lord is the start of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One gives a wise mind

¹¹ For by me your days will be increased, and the years of your life will be long.

⁴ Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither. To him that is void of understanding, she saith,

⁵ Come, eat ye of my bread, and drink of the wine that I have mingled.

⁶ Forsake follies and live, and go in the way of intelligence.

⁷ He that instructeth a scorner getteth to himself shame; and he that reproveth a wicked man getteth to himself a blot.

⁸ Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee; reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.

⁹ Impart to a wise man, and he will become yet wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase learning.

⁴ Whosoever is a little one, let him come to me. And to the unwise she said:

⁵ Come, eat my bread, and drink the wine which I have mingled for you.

⁶ Forsake childishness, and live, and walk by the ways of prudence.

⁷ He that teacheth a scorner, doth an injury to himself: and he that rebuketh a wicked man, getteth himself a blot.

⁸ Rebuke not a scorner lest he hate thee. Rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

⁹ Give an occasion to a wise man, and wisdom shall be added to him. Teach a just man, and he shall make haste to receive it.

¹⁰ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is prudence.

¹¹ For by me shall thy days be multiplied, and years of life shall be added to thee.

³ She has sent out her servant girls with invitations. She calls out from the highest places of the town,

⁴ “Everybody who needs to learn, come and see me!” To people who don't have any sense she says,

⁵ “Come, eat my food, and drink the wine I have mixed.

⁶ Leave your foolish ways and you will live; follow the path that makes sense.”

⁷ If you correct a mocker all you get are insults; if you argue with the wicked all you get is abuse.

⁸ So don't argue with mockers or they'll only hate you; argue with the wise and they'll love you.

⁹ Educate the wise and they'll become even wiser; teach those who live right and they will increase their learning.

¹⁰ Honoring the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; knowledge of the Holy One brings insight.

¹¹ Through wisdom you'll have many more days, increasing the years of your life.

³ She hath sent forth her maydens and cryeth vpon the highest places of the citie, saying,

⁴ Who so is simple, let him come hither, and to him that is destitute of wisedome, she sayth,

⁵ Come, and eate of my meate, and drinke of the wine that I haue drawen.

⁶ Forsake your way, ye foolish, and ye shall liue: and walke in the way of vnderstanding.

⁷ He that reproueth a scorner, purchaseth to himselfe shame: and he that rebuketh the wicked, getteth himselfe a blot.

⁸ Rebuke not a scorner, least he hate thee: but rebuke a wise man, and he will loue thee.

⁹ Giue admonition to the wise, and he will be the wiser: teache a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

¹⁰ The beginning of wisedome is the feare of the Lord, and the knowledge of holy things, is vnderstanding.

¹¹ For thy dayes shalbe multiplied by me, and the yeeres of thy life shalbe augmented.

⁷ Whoever disciplines a mocker receives abuse, and whoever rebukes a wicked person receives insults.

⁸ Do not reprove a mocker, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

⁹ Give to a wise person, and he will become even wiser; teach a righteous person, and he will add to his learning.

⁶ Forsake ye young childhood, and live ye; and go ye by the way of prudence. (Abandon ye foolishness, and have life; and go ye on the way of understanding.)

⁷ He that teacheth a scorner, doeth wrong to himself; and he that reproveth a wicked man, engendereth a wem to himself. (He who trieth to teach a mocker, only wrongeth himself; and he who reproveth the wicked, begetteth a wound for himself.)

⁸ Do not thou reprove a scorner; lest he hate thee. Reprove thou a wise man; and he shall love thee. (Do not thou rebuke a mocker; lest he hate thee. Rebuke thou a wise person; and he shall love thee.)

⁹ Give thou occasion to a wise man; and wisdom shall be increased to him. Teach thou a just man; and he shall hasten to take it (to heart). (Give thou advice, or instruction, to a wise person; and his wisdom shall be increased. Teach thou a righteous person; and he shall hasten to take it to heart.)

¹⁰ The beginning of wisdom is the dread of the Lord; and prudence is the knowing of saints. (The beginning of wisdom (is) the fear of the Lord; and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding./The beginning of wisdom (is) reverence for the Lord; and to know the Holy One is to have understanding.)

¹¹ For thy days shall be multiplied by me; and the years of (thy) life shall be increased to thee.

³ She hath sent forth her damsels, She crieth on the tops of the high places of the city:

⁴ 'Who is simple? let him turn aside hither.' Whoso lacketh heart: she hath said to him,

⁵ 'Come, eat of my bread, And drink of the wine I have mingled.

⁶ Forsake ye, the simple, and live, And be happy in the way of understanding.

⁷ The instructor of a scorner Is receiving for it — shame, And a reprover of the wicked — his blemish.

⁸ Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee, Give reproof to the wise, and he loveth thee.

⁹ Give to the wise, and he is wiser still, Make known to the righteous, And he increaseth learning.

¹⁰ The commencement of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah, And a knowledge of the Holy Ones is understanding.

¹¹ For by me do thy days multiply, And added to thee are years of life.
