Proverbs 7:13-17 in English

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him, And with an impudent face she said unto him:

¹⁴ Sacrifices of peace-offerings are with me; This day have I paid my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore came I forth to meet thee, Diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, With striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,

¹⁴ I have a peace-offering; to-day I pay my vows:

¹⁵ therefore I came forth to meet thee, desiring thy face; and I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.

¹⁷ I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

¹⁴ I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

¹³ When she saw that young man, she put her arms around him and kissed him. Then without being a bit ashamed, she said,

¹⁴ “I have some meat that is left over from a sacrifice that I made today to maintain fellowship with Yahweh; I have fulfilled/done what I promised him that I would do.

¹⁵ And now I have come out to meet/see you. I was searching for you, and now I have found you!

¹⁶ I have put on my bed sheets/bedspreads that were made from very fine linen that were imported { people brought} from Egypt.

¹⁷ I have sprinkled sweet-smelling perfumes on my bed— myrrh and aloes and cinnamon.

¹³ Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,

¹⁴ I have a peace-offering; today I pay my vows:

¹⁵ therefore I came forth to meet you, desiring your face; and I have found you.

¹⁶ I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.

¹⁷ I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:

¹⁴ “Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. Today I have paid my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.

¹⁶ I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ So she took him by his hand, kissing him, and without a sign of shame she said to him:

¹⁴ I have a feast of peace-offerings, for today my oaths have been effected.

¹⁵ So I came out in the hope of meeting you, looking for you with care, and now I have you.

¹⁶ My bed is covered with cushions of needlework, with coloured cloths of the cotton thread of Egypt;

¹⁷ I have made my bed sweet with perfumes and spices.

¹³ And she caught him and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

¹⁴ I have peace-offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows:

¹⁵ therefore came I forth to meet thee, to seek earnestly thy face, and I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have decked my bed with tapestry coverlets of variegated linen from Egypt;

¹⁷ I have perfumed my couch with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ And catching the young man, she kisseth him, and with an impudent face, flattereth, saying:

¹⁴ I vowed victims for prosperity, this day I have paid my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore I am come out to meet thee, desirous to see thee, and I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have woven my bed with cords, I have covered it with painted tapestry, brought from Egypt.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ She grabbed hold of him and kissed him, and with a bold face she told him,

¹⁴ “I sacrificed my peace offering today, and paid my vows.

¹⁵ That's why I came out to meet you. I was looking for you and now I've found you!

¹⁶ My bed is made, covered with colorful linens from Egypt.

¹⁷ I've sprinkled perfume on my bed—myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ So she caught him and kissed him and with an impudent face said vnto him,

¹⁴ I haue peace offerings: this day haue I payed my vowes.

¹⁵ Therefore came I forth to meete thee, that I might seeke thy face: and I haue found thee.

¹⁶ I haue deckt my bed with ornaments, carpets and laces of Egypt.

¹⁷ I haue perfumed my bedde with myrrhe, aloes, and cynamom.

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face she said unto him:

¹⁴ 'Sacrifices of peace-offerings were due from me; this day have I paid my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore came I forth to meet thee, to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have decked my couch with coverlets, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him, And with an impudent face said unto him,

¹⁴ I have peace offerings with me; This day have I payed my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore came I forth to meet thee, Diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have deckt my bed with coverings of tapestry, With carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ And she caught hold of him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face she said to him,

¹⁴ “I had bound myself to bring peace-offerings; this day have I paid my vows:

¹⁵ Therefore am I come forth to meet thee, to seek thy presence diligently, and I have found thee.

¹⁶ With tapestry coverings have I decked my bed, with embroidered coverlids of the fine linen of Egypt.

¹⁷ I have sprinkled my couch with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ Then she caught him, and kissed him, And with an impudent face said to him,

¹⁴ I have a peace offering; Today I pay my vows:

¹⁵ Therefore I came forth to meet thee, desiring thy face; And I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have spread my bed with sheets, And I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.

¹⁷ I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, And my house with cinnamon.

¹³ She caught hold of him and kissed him, And with a shameless face said to him,

¹⁴ “Thank-offerings have been upon me, And this day have I performed my vows;

¹⁵ Therefore came I forth to meet thee,—Diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee!

¹⁶ I have spread my bed with coverlets, With tapestry of the thread of Egypt.

¹⁷ I have sprinkled my bed With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:

¹⁴ “Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. Today I have paid my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.

¹⁶ I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt Abode of slavery.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ So she grabbed him and kissed him, with a strong face she said to him,

¹⁴ “I made my peace offering today, I paid my vows,

¹⁵ so came I out to meet you, to eagerly seek your face, and I have found you.

¹⁶ I have spread coverings on my bed, colored linens from Egypt.

¹⁷ I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:

¹⁴ “Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. Today I have paid my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.

¹⁶ I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:

¹³ So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:

¹⁴ “Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. Today I have paid my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.

¹⁶ I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.

¹⁷ I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

¹³ And she taketh, and kisseth the young man; and flattereth with wooing cheer, that is, unrestfully, and without shame, and saith,

¹⁴ I owed sacrifices for health; today I have yielded my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore I went out into thy meeting, and I desired to see thee; and I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have made my bed with cords, I have arrayed it with tapets painted or with painted tapets of Egypt;

¹⁷ I have besprinkled my bed with myrrh, and aloes, and canel.

¹³ And she taketh (hold of), and kisseth the young man; and flattereth (him) with wooing cheer, that is, unrestful (ly), and without shame, and saith,

¹⁴ I owed sacrifices for health (or I have paid my offerings for my deliverance); today I have yielded my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore I went out into thy meeting, and I desired to see thee; and I have found thee.

¹⁶ I have made (ready) my bed with cords, I have arrayed it with tapets painted of Egypt; (I have prepared my bed, yea, I have arrayed it with coloured tapestries from Egypt;)

¹⁷ I have besprinkled my bed with myrrh, and aloes, and canel (or and cinnamon).

¹³ And she laid hold on him, and kissed him, She hath hardened her face, and saith to him,

¹⁴ 'Sacrifices of peace-offerings are by me, To-day I have completed my vows.

¹⁵ Therefore I have come forth to meet thee, To seek earnestly thy face, and I find thee.

¹⁶ With ornamental coverings I decked my couch, Carved works — cotton of Egypt.

¹⁷ I sprinkled my bed — myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
