²³ Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, And thy foot shall not stumble.

²⁴ When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

²⁵ Be not afraid of sudden fear, Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh:

²⁶ For Jehovah will be thy confidence, And will keep thy foot from being taken.

²⁷ Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, When it is in the power of thy hand to do it.

²⁸ Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and come again, And to-morrow I will give; When thou hast it by thee.

²³ that thou mayest go confidently in peace in all thy ways, and that thy foot may not stumble.

²⁴ For if thou rest, thou shalt be undismayed; and if thou sleep, thou shalt slumber sweetly.

²⁵ And thou shalt not be afraid of alarm coming upon thee, neither of approaching attacks of ungodly men.

²⁶ For the Lord shall be over all thy ways, and shall establish thy foot that thou be not moved.

²⁷ Forbear not to do good to the poor, whensoever thy hand may have power to help him.

²⁸ Say not, Come back another time, to-morrow I will give; while thou art able to do him good: for thou knowest not what the next day will bring forth.

²⁵ You will not be afraid that something disastrous will happen to you or that storms that strike the wicked will strike you,

²⁶ because you will be confident that Yahweh will take care of you. He will not let your foot be caught in a trap/snare.

²⁷ If you are able to help people who deserve it, do not refuse to help them.

²⁸ If you are able to help someone you interact with, do not say, “Come back later; perhaps I can help you tomorrow.”

²⁷ Do not keep back good from those who have a right to it, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.

²⁸ Say not to your neighbour, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when you have it by you at the time.

²³ You will be able to walk confidently on your way, and you won't trip up.

²⁵ You won't be afraid of a sudden panic, or of disasters that hit the wicked,

²⁶ for the Lord will be the one you can trust in, and he will prevent you being caught in a trap.

²⁷ Don't hold back good from those who deserve it when it's something you have the power to do.

²⁸ Don't tell your neighbor, “Go away. Come back tomorrow and then I'll give it to you,” when you've already got it.

²³ Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.

²⁸ Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.

²⁷ Do not thou forbid to do well him that may; if thou mayest, also do thou well.

²⁸ Say thou not to thy friend, Go, and turn again, and tomorrow I shall give to thee; when thou mayest give anon.

²³ Then thou shalt go trustily in thy way (or Then thou shalt go with trust on thy way); and thy foot shall not stumble.

²⁴ If thou shalt sleep, thou shalt not dread; thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be soft or and sweet shall be thy sleep. (When thou shalt sleep, thou shalt not fear; thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be sweet.)

²⁵ Dread thou not of sudden fear, and the powers of wicked men falling in on thee. (Fear thou not sudden disaster, and the power, or the might, of the wicked falling in upon thee.)

²⁶ For the Lord shall be at thy side; and he shall keep thy foot (safe), that thou be not taken.

²⁷ Do not thou forbid to do well him that may; if thou mayest, also do thou well. (Do not thou forbid anyone to do good who can; and if thou be able, thou do good as well.)

²⁸ Say thou not to thy friend, Go, and turn again, and tomorrow I shall give to thee; when thou mayest give anon. (Say thou not to thy friend, Go away, and return tomorrow, and then I shall give you what you need; when thou can give it to him at once.)

²³ Then thou goest thy way confidently, And thy foot doth not stumble.

²⁴ If thou liest down, thou art not afraid, Yea, thou hast lain down, And sweet hath been thy sleep.

²⁵ Be not afraid of sudden fear, And of the desolation of the wicked when it cometh.

²⁶ For Jehovah is at thy side, And He hath kept thy foot from capture.

²⁷ Withhold not good from its owners, When thy hand is toward God to do it.

²⁸ Say not thou to thy friend, 'Go, and return, and to-morrow I give,' And substance with thee.
