¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand; In her left hand are riches and honor.

¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: And happy is every one that retaineth her.

¹⁹ Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding he established the heavens.

²⁰ By his knowledge the depths were broken up, And the skies drop down the dew.

²¹ My son, let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep sound wisdom and discretion:

²² So shall they be life unto thy soul, And grace to thy neck.

²³ Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, And thy foot shall not stumble.

²⁴ When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

²⁵ Be not afraid of sudden fear, Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh:

¹⁶ For length of existence and years of life are in her right hand; and in her left hand are wealth and glory:

^16a out of her mouth proceeds righteousness, and she carries law and mercy upon her tongue.

¹⁷ Her ways are good ways, and all her paths are peaceful.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to all that lay hold upon her; and she is a secure help to all that stay themselves on her, as on the Lord.

¹⁶ On the one hand, wisdom PRS enables you to live a long life, and on the other hand, wisdom enables you to become rich and to be honored.

¹⁷ If you are wise, your life will be pleasant, and things will go well for you.

¹⁸ Wisdom is like a tree that gives long life to those who eagerly take hold of it, and Yahweh is pleased with those who hold onto it tightly.

¹⁹ By his wisdom Yahweh created the earth, and by his understanding he put everything in the skies.

²⁰ By his knowledge he caused the water that was beneath the earth to burst forth, and he caused rain to fall from the clouds.

²¹ My son, always keep doing things that are right and things that are smart. If you do that,

²² you will live many years and be honored and respected {people will honor and respect you}.

²³ If you do what is right and wise, you will be able to walk safely, and you will not ◄stumble/do things that are wrong► MET.

²⁴ You will be able to lie down at night and not be afraid of anything, and you will sleep peacefully.

²⁵ You will not be afraid that something disastrous will happen to you or that storms that strike the wicked will strike you,

²¹ My son, keep good sense, and do not let wise purpose go from your eyes.

²² So they will be life for your soul, and grace for your neck.

²³ Then you will go safely on your way, and your feet will have no cause for slipping.

²⁴ When you take your rest you will have no fear, and on your bed sleep will be sweet to you.

²⁵ Have no fear of sudden danger, or of the storm which will come on evil-doers:

²⁰ By his wisdom the depths have broken out, and the clouds grow thick with dew.

²¹ My son, let not these things depart from thy eyes: keep the law and counsel:

²² And there shall be life to thy soul, and grace to thy mouth.

²³ Then shalt thou walk confidently in thy way, and thy foot shall not stumble:

²⁴ If thou sleep, thou shalt not fear: thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

²⁵ Be not afraid of sudden fear, nor of the power of the wicked falling upon thee.

¹⁶ She offers long life in one hand, and riches and honor in the other.

¹⁷ She brings true happiness, and leads to peaceful prosperity.

¹⁸ Wisdom is a tree of life to everyone who embraces her, blessing those who accept her.

¹⁹ It was through wisdom that the Lord created the earth, and through understanding he set the heavens in place.

²⁰ It was through his knowledge the waters of the deep were broken open, and the clouds sent down the dew.

²¹ My son, hold on to good judgment and wise decisions—don't let them out of your sight,

²² for they will be life to you, and an ornament for your neck.

²³ You will be able to walk confidently on your way, and you won't trip up.

²⁴ When you rest, you won't be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

²⁵ You won't be afraid of a sudden panic, or of disasters that hit the wicked,

¹⁶ Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.

¹⁷ Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.

¹⁹ The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.

²⁰ By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.

²¹ My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.

²² So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.

²⁴ If thou shalt sleep, thou shalt not dread; thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be soft or and sweet shall be thy sleep.

²⁵ Dread thou not of sudden fear, and the powers of wicked men falling in on thee.

¹⁶ Length of days is in the right half thereof, and riches and glory be in the left half thereof. (Length of days is in its right hand, and riches and glory be in its left hand.)

¹⁷ The ways thereof be fair ways, and all the paths thereof be peaceable. (Its way be fair ways, and all its paths be peaceful.)

¹⁸ It is a tree of life to them that take (hold of) it; and he that holdeth (onto) it, is blessed.

¹⁹ The Lord founded the earth by (his) wisdom; he stablished (the) heavens by (his) prudence.

²⁰ The depths of waters brake out by his wisdom; and (the) clouds waxed (al)together with dew.

²¹ My son, these things float not away from thine eyes; keep thou my law, and my counsel; (My son, let not these things float away from thine eyes; keep thou my instructions, and my advice, near to thee;)

²² and life shall be to thy soul, and grace to thy cheeks. (and thou shalt have life, and gain favour.)

²³ Then thou shalt go trustily in thy way (or Then thou shalt go with trust on thy way); and thy foot shall not stumble.

²⁴ If thou shalt sleep, thou shalt not dread; thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be soft or and sweet shall be thy sleep. (When thou shalt sleep, thou shalt not fear; thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be sweet.)

²⁵ Dread thou not of sudden fear, and the powers of wicked men falling in on thee. (Fear thou not sudden disaster, and the power, or the might, of the wicked falling in upon thee.)

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand, In her left are wealth and honour.

¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.

¹⁸ A tree of life she is to those laying hold on her, And whoso is retaining her is happy.

¹⁹ Jehovah by wisdom did found the earth, He prepared the heavens by understanding.

²⁰ By His knowledge depths have been rent, And clouds do drop dew.

²¹ My son! let them not turn from thine eyes, Keep thou wisdom and thoughtfulness,

²² And they are life to thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

²³ Then thou goest thy way confidently, And thy foot doth not stumble.

²⁴ If thou liest down, thou art not afraid, Yea, thou hast lain down, And sweet hath been thy sleep.

²⁵ Be not afraid of sudden fear, And of the desolation of the wicked when it cometh.
