Proverbs 3:11-30 in American Standard Version (1901)

11 My son, despise not the chastening of Jehovah; Neither be weary of his reproof:
12 For whom Jehovah loveth he reproveth, Even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, And the man that getteth understanding.
14 For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, And the profit thereof than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies: And none of the things thou canst desire are to be compared unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand; In her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: And happy is every one that retaineth her.
19 Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding he established the heavens.
20 By his knowledge the depths were broken up, And the skies drop down the dew.
21 My son, let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, And grace to thy neck.
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, And thy foot shall not stumble.
24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh:
26 For Jehovah will be thy confidence, And will keep thy foot from being taken.
27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, When it is in the power of thy hand to do it.
28 Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and come again, And to-morrow I will give; When thou hast it by thee.
29 Devise not evil against thy neighbor, Seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 Strive not with a man without cause, If he have done thee no harm.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Brenton Septuagint Translation

11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
12 for whom the Lord loves, he rebukes, and scourges every son whom he receives.
13 Blessed is the man who has found wisdom, and the mortal who knows prudence.
14 For it is better to traffic for her, than for treasures of gold and silver.
15 And she is more valuable than precious stones: no evil thing shall resist her: she is well known to all that approach her, and no precious thing is equal to her in value.
16 For length of existence and years of life are in her right hand; and in her left hand are wealth and glory:
16a out of her mouth proceeds righteousness, and she carries law and mercy upon her tongue.
17 Her ways are good ways, and all her paths are peaceful.
18 She is a tree of life to all that lay hold upon her; and she is a secure help to all that stay themselves on her, as on the Lord.
19 God by wisdom founded the earth, and by prudence he prepared the heavens.
20 By understanding were the depths broken up, and the clouds dropped water.
21 My son, let them not pass from thee, but keep my counsel and understanding:
22 that thy soul may live, and that there may be grace round thy neck;
22a and it shall be health to thy flesh, and safety to thy bones:
23 that thou mayest go confidently in peace in all thy ways, and that thy foot may not stumble.
24 For if thou rest, thou shalt be undismayed; and if thou sleep, thou shalt slumber sweetly.
25 And thou shalt not be afraid of alarm coming upon thee, neither of approaching attacks of ungodly men.
26 For the Lord shall be over all thy ways, and shall establish thy foot that thou be not moved.
27 Forbear not to do good to the poor, whensoever thy hand may have power to help him.
28 Say not, Come back another time, to-morrow I will give; while thou art able to do him good: for thou knowest not what the next day will bring forth.
29 Devise not evil against thy friend, living near thee and trusting in thee.
30 Be not ready to quarrel with a man without a cause, lest he do thee some harm.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Translation for Translators

11 My son, when Yahweh disciplines/corrects you, do not despise it, and if he rebukes you, do not resent it.
12 I say that because it is the people whom Yahweh loves that he corrects/reproves, just like parents correct/reprove their sons whom they love.
13 Yahweh is pleased with those who become wise and have good understanding.
14 Being wise and having good understanding is worth more than silver, better than gold.
15 Being wise is more precious than ◄jewels/precious stones►; there is nothing that you could desire that would be as valuable as wisdom.
16 On the one hand, wisdom PRS enables you to live a long life, and on the other hand, wisdom enables you to become rich and to be honored.
17 If you are wise, your life will be pleasant, and things will go well for you.
18 Wisdom is like a tree that gives long life to those who eagerly take hold of it, and Yahweh is pleased with those who hold onto it tightly.
19 By his wisdom Yahweh created the earth, and by his understanding he put everything in the skies.
20 By his knowledge he caused the water that was beneath the earth to burst forth, and he caused rain to fall from the clouds.
21 My son, always keep doing things that are right and things that are smart. If you do that,
22 you will live many years and be honored and respected {people will honor and respect you}.
23 If you do what is right and wise, you will be able to walk safely, and you will not ◄stumble/do things that are wrong► MET.
24 You will be able to lie down at night and not be afraid of anything, and you will sleep peacefully.
25 You will not be afraid that something disastrous will happen to you or that storms that strike the wicked will strike you,
26 because you will be confident that Yahweh will take care of you. He will not let your foot be caught in a trap/snare.
27 If you are able to help people who deserve it, do not refuse to help them.
28 If you are able to help someone you interact with, do not say, “Come back later; perhaps I can help you tomorrow.”
29 Do not make plans to harm those you interact with regularly, because they live near you, and they trust you.
30 If someone has not harmed you, do not accuse him by saying that he has harmed you.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Bible in Basic English

11 My son, do not make your heart hard against the Lord's teaching; do not be made angry by his training:
12 For to those who are dear to him the Lord says sharp words, and makes the son in whom he has delight undergo pain.
13 Happy is the man who makes discovery of wisdom, and he who gets knowledge.
14 For trading in it is better than trading in silver, and its profit greater than bright gold.
15 She is of more value than jewels, and nothing for which you may have a desire is fair in comparison with her.
16 Long life is in her right hand, and in her left are wealth and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of delight, and all her goings are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to all who take her in their hands, and happy is everyone who keeps her.
19 The Lord by wisdom put in position the bases of the earth; by reason he put the heavens in their place.
20 By his knowledge the deep was parted, and dew came dropping from the skies.
21 My son, keep good sense, and do not let wise purpose go from your eyes.
22 So they will be life for your soul, and grace for your neck.
23 Then you will go safely on your way, and your feet will have no cause for slipping.
24 When you take your rest you will have no fear, and on your bed sleep will be sweet to you.
25 Have no fear of sudden danger, or of the storm which will come on evil-doers:
26 For the Lord will be your hope, and will keep your foot from being taken in the net.
27 Do not keep back good from those who have a right to it, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
28 Say not to your neighbour, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when you have it by you at the time.
29 Do not make evil designs against your neighbour, when he is living with you without fear.
30 Do not take up a cause at law against a man for nothing, if he has done you no wrong.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Douay-Rheims 1899

11 My son, reject not the correction of the Lord: and do not faint when thou art chastised by him:
12 For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth: and as a father in the son he pleaseth himself.
13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisdom and is rich in prudence:
14 The purchasing thereof is better than the merchandise of silver, and her fruit than the chiefest and purest gold:
15 She is more precious than all riches: and all the things that are desired, are not to be compared with her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
17 Her ways are beautiful ways, and all her paths are peaceable.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her: and he that shall retain her is blessed.
19 The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth, hath established the heavens by prudence.
20 By his wisdom the depths have broken out, and the clouds grow thick with dew.
21 My son, let not these things depart from thy eyes: keep the law and counsel:
22 And there shall be life to thy soul, and grace to thy mouth.
23 Then shalt thou walk confidently in thy way, and thy foot shall not stumble:
24 If thou sleep, thou shalt not fear: thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, nor of the power of the wicked falling upon thee.
26 For the Lord will be at thy side, and will keep thy foot that thou be not taken.
27 Do not withhold him from doing good, who is able: if thou art able, do good thyself also.
28 Say not to thy friend: Go, and come again: and tomorrow I will give to thee: when thou canst give at present.
29 Practise not evil against thy friend, when he hath confidence in thee.
30 Strive not against a man without cause, when he hath done thee no evil.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Free Bible Version

11 My son, don't reject the Lord's discipline or resent it when he corrects you,
12 for the Lord corrects those he loves, as a father corrects a son who pleases him.
13 Happy are those who find wisdom and gain understanding,
14 for wisdom is worth more than silver, and pays better than gold.
15 She is more valuable than rubies—everything you could ever want just doesn't compare!
16 She offers long life in one hand, and riches and honor in the other.
17 She brings true happiness, and leads to peaceful prosperity.
18 Wisdom is a tree of life to everyone who embraces her, blessing those who accept her.
19 It was through wisdom that the Lord created the earth, and through understanding he set the heavens in place.
20 It was through his knowledge the waters of the deep were broken open, and the clouds sent down the dew.
21 My son, hold on to good judgment and wise decisions—don't let them out of your sight,
22 for they will be life to you, and an ornament for your neck.
23 You will be able to walk confidently on your way, and you won't trip up.
24 When you rest, you won't be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 You won't be afraid of a sudden panic, or of disasters that hit the wicked,
26 for the Lord will be the one you can trust in, and he will prevent you being caught in a trap.
27 Don't hold back good from those who deserve it when it's something you have the power to do.
28 Don't tell your neighbor, “Go away. Come back tomorrow and then I'll give it to you,” when you've already got it.
29 Don't plan to harm your neighbor who lives nearby and trusts you.
30 Don't quarrel with anybody for no reason, when they haven't done anything to hurt you.

11 My sonne, refuse not the chastening of the Lord, neither be grieued with his correction.
12 For the Lord correcteth him, whome he loueth, euen as the father doeth the childe in whom he deliteth.
13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisedome, and the man that getteth vnderstanding.
14 For the marchandise thereof is better then the marchandise of siluer, and the gaine thereof is better then golde.
15 It is more precious then pearles: and all things that thou canst desire, are not to be compared vnto her.
16 Length of dayes is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and glory.
17 Her wayes are wayes of pleasure, and all her pathes prosperitie.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay holde on her, and blessed is he that retaineth her.
19 The Lord by wisdome hath layde the foundation of the earth, and hath stablished the heauens through vnderstanding.
20 By his knowledge the depthes are broken vp, and the cloudes droppe downe the dewe.
21 My sonne, let not these things depart from thine eyes, but obserue wisdome, and counsell.
22 So they shalbe life to thy soule, and grace vnto thy necke.
23 Then shalt thou walke safely by thy way: and thy foote shall not stumble.
24 If thou sleepest, thou shalt not bee afraide, and when thou sleepest, thy sleepe shalbe sweete.
25 Thou shalt not feare for any sudden feare, neither for the destruction of the wicked, when it commeth.
26 For the Lord shall be for thine assurance, and shall preserue thy foote from taking.
27 Withhold not the good from the owners thereof, though there be power in thine hand to doe it.
28 Say not vnto thy neighbour, Go and come againe, and to morow wil I giue thee, if thou now haue it.
29 Intend none hurt against thy neighbour, seeing he doeth dwell without feare by thee.
30 Striue not with a man causelesse, when he hath done thee no harme.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in JPS TaNaKH 1917

11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD, neither spurn thou His correction;
12 For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth, even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that obtaineth understanding.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her, and happy is every one that holdest her fast.
19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens.
20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.
21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion;
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, and thou shalt not dash thy foot.
24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid; yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Be not afraid of sudden terror, neither of the destruction of the wicked, when it cometh;
26 For the LORD will be thy confidence, and will keep thy foot from being caught.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Isaac Leeser Tanakh

11 The correction of the Lord, my son, do not despise; and feel no loathing for his admonition;
12 Because whomever the Lord loveth he admonisheth; and as a father who delighteth in his son.
13 Happy the man that hath found wisdom, and the man that acquireth understanding.
14 For the obtaining of her is better than the obtaining of silver, and better than fine gold is her product.
15 She is more precious than pearls; and all the things thou valuest are not equal unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand: in her left are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 A tree of life is she to those that lay hold on her: and every one that firmly graspeth her will be made happy.
19 The Lord hath through wisdom founded the earth: he hath established the heavens through understanding.
20 By his knowledge were the depths split open, and the skies drop down the dew.
21 My son, let them not be removed from thy eyes; keep before thee sound wisdom and discretion:
22 And they will be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy throat.
23 Then wilt thou walk in safety on thy way, and thy foot will not strike against aught:
24 When thou layest thyself down, thou shalt feel no dread; and as thou liest down, thy sleep shall be pleasant.
25 Thou needest not to be afraid of sudden dread, neither of the unlooked-for tempest over the wicked, when it cometh.
26 For the Lord will be thy confidence, and he will guard thy foot from being caught.
27 Withhold not a benefit from him who is deserving it, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it.
28 Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and return, and tomorrow will I give: when thou hast it by thee.
29 Contrive not against thy neighbor any evil, when he dwelleth in safety with thee.
30 Quarrel not with any man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Updated Brenton English Septuagint

22 That thy soul may live, And that there may be grace round thy neck;
28 Say not, Come back another time, tomorrow I will give; While thou art able to do him good: For thou knowest not what the next day will bring forth.
29 Devise not evil against thy friend, Living near thee and trusting in thee.
30 Be not ready to quarrel with a man without a cause, Lest he do thee some harm.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Unlocked Literal Bible

11 My son, do not despise Yahweh's instruction and do not hate his rebuke,
12 for Yahweh disciplines those he loves, as a father deals with a son who pleases him.
13 The one who finds wisdom is blessed; he also gets understanding.
14 What you gain from wisdom is better than what silver will give in return and its profit is better than gold.
15 Wisdom is more precious than jewels and nothing you desire can compare to her.
16 She has length of days in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of kindness and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of it, those who hold on to it are happy.
19 By wisdom Yahweh founded the earth, by understanding he established the heavens.
20 By his knowledge the depths broke open and the clouds dropped their dew.
21 My son, keep sound judgment and discernment, and do not lose sight of them.
22 They will be life to your soul and an adornment of favor to wear around your neck.
23 Then you will walk on your way in safety and your foot will not stumble;
24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror or devastation caused by the wicked, when it comes,
26 for Yahweh will be on your side and will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.
27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.
28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give it,” when you have the money with you.
29 Do not make a plan to harm your neighbor— the one who lives close and trusts you.
30 Do not argue with a person without a reason, when he has done nothing to harm you.

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling

11 My son, cast thou not away the teaching of the Lord; and fail thou not, when thou art chastised of him.
12 For the Lord chastiseth him, whom he loveth; and as a father in the son he pleaseth him.
13 Blessed is the man that findeth wisdom, and that floweth with prudence.
14 The getting thereof is better than the merchandise or chaffering of gold and of silver; the fruits thereof be the first and the cleanest.
15 It is more precious than all riches; and all things that be desired, may not be comparisoned to this.
16 Length of days is in the right half thereof, and riches and glory be in the left half thereof.
17 The ways thereof be fair ways, and all the paths thereof be peaceable.
18 It is a tree of life to them that take it; and he that holdeth it, is blessed.
19 The Lord founded the earth by wisdom; he stablished heavens by prudence.
20 The depths of waters brake out by his wisdom; and clouds waxed alto-gether with dew.
21 My son, these things float not away or not flow away from thine eyes; keep thou my law, and my counsel;
22 and life shall be to thy soul, and grace to thy cheeks.
23 Then thou shalt go trustily in thy way; and thy foot shall not stumble.
24 If thou shalt sleep, thou shalt not dread; thou shalt rest, and thy sleep shall be soft or and sweet shall be thy sleep.
25 Dread thou not of sudden fear, and the powers of wicked men falling in on thee.
26 For the Lord shall be at thy side; and he shall keep thy foot, that thou be not taken.
27 Do not thou forbid to do well him that may; if thou mayest, also do thou well.
28 Say thou not to thy friend, Go, and turn again, and tomorrow I shall give to thee; when thou mayest give anon.
29 Imagine thou not evil to thy friend, when he hath trust in thee.
30 Strive thou not against a man without cause, when he doeth none evil to thee.

28 Say thou not to thy friend, Go, and turn again, and tomorrow I shall give to thee; when thou mayest give anon. (Say thou not to thy friend, Go away, and return tomorrow, and then I shall give you what you need; when thou can give it to him at once.)
29 Imagine thou not evil to thy friend (or Imagine thou not evil against thy friend), when he hath trust in thee.
30 Strive thou not against a man without cause, when he doeth none evil to thee. (Do not thou argue with someone for no reason, when he hath done nothing wrong to thee.)

Proverbs 3:11-30 in Young's Literal Translation

11 Chastisement of Jehovah, my son, despise not, And be not vexed with His reproof,
12 For whom Jehovah loveth He reproveth, Even as a father the son He is pleased with.
13 O the happiness of a man who hath found wisdom, And of a man who bringeth forth understanding.
14 For better is her merchandise Than the merchandise of silver, And than gold — her increase.
15 Precious she is above rubies, And all thy pleasures are not comparable to her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left are wealth and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.
18 A tree of life she is to those laying hold on her, And whoso is retaining her is happy.
19 Jehovah by wisdom did found the earth, He prepared the heavens by understanding.
20 By His knowledge depths have been rent, And clouds do drop dew.
21 My son! let them not turn from thine eyes, Keep thou wisdom and thoughtfulness,
22 And they are life to thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Then thou goest thy way confidently, And thy foot doth not stumble.
24 If thou liest down, thou art not afraid, Yea, thou hast lain down, And sweet hath been thy sleep.
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, And of the desolation of the wicked when it cometh.
26 For Jehovah is at thy side, And He hath kept thy foot from capture.
27 Withhold not good from its owners, When thy hand is toward God to do it.
28 Say not thou to thy friend, 'Go, and return, and to-morrow I give,' And substance with thee.
29 Devise not against thy neighbour evil, And he sitting confidently with thee.
30 Strive not with a man without cause, If he have not done thee evil.
