Proverbs 23:33-35 in English

³³ Thine eyes shall behold strange things, And thy heart shall utter perverse things.

³⁴ Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, Or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.

³⁵ They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not hurt; They have beaten me, and I felt it not: When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

³³ Whenever thine eyes shall behold a strange woman, then thy mouth shall speak perverse things.

³⁴ And thou shalt lie as in the midst of the sea, and as a pilot in a great storm.

³⁵ And thou shalt say, They smote me, and I was not pained; and they mocked me, and I knew it not: when will it be morning, that I may go and seek those with whom I may go in company?

³³ Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.

³³ You SYN will think that you are seeing strange/weird things, and you SYN will not be able to think clearly or speak clearly.

³⁴ You will think you are in a ship that is tossing on the sea; you be like SIM someone who is trying to sleep when the ship is rolling from one side to the other.

³⁵ You will say, “ I think that someone struck me, but he did not hurt me; he hit me, but I did not feel it. When will I ◄wake up/feel normal again► in order that I can drink some more wine?”

³⁵ “They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I don’t feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I will look for more.”

³³ Your eyes will see strange things, and your mind will imagine confusing things.

³⁴ Yes, you will be as he who lies down in the middle of the sea, or as he who lies on top of the rigging:

³⁵ “They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I don’t feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I will look for more.”

³³ Your eyes will see strange things, and you will say twisted things.

³⁴ Yes, you will be like him who takes his rest on the sea, or on the top of a sail-support.

³⁵ They have overcome me, you will say, and I have no pain; they gave me blows without my feeling them: when will I be awake from my wine? I will go after it again.

³³ Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thy heart shall speak froward things;

³⁴ and thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, and as he that lieth down upon the top of a mast:

³⁵ — “They have smitten me, and I am not sore; they have beaten me, and I knew it not. When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.”

³³ Thy eyes shall behold strange women, and thy heart shall utter perverse things.

³⁴ And thou shalt be as one sleeping in the midst of the sea, and as a pilot fast asleep, when the stern is lost.

³⁵ And thou shalt say: They have beaten me, but I was not sensible of pain: they drew me, and I felt not: when shall I awake, and find wine again?

³³ You'll hallucinate, seeing strange things, and your confused mind will make you say all kinds of craziness.

³⁴ You'll stumble around like you're on the rolling ocean, you'll be tossed about like someone lying down at the top of a ship's mast, saying,

³⁵ “People punched me, but it didn't hurt me; they beat me, but I didn't feel a thing. I've got to get up because I need another drink.”

³³ Thine eyes shall looke vpon strange women, and thine heart shall speake lewde things.

³⁴ And thou shalt bee as one that sleepeth in the middes of the sea, and as hee that sleepeth in the toppe of the maste.

³⁵ They haue stricken mee, shalt thou say, but I was not sicke: they haue beaten mee, but I knew not, when I awoke: therefore will I seeke it yet still.

³⁵ “They hit me,” you will say, “but I was not hurt. They beat me, but I did not feel it. When will I wake up? I will seek another drink.”

³³ Your eyes will see strange things, and your mind will imagine confusing things.

³⁴ Yes, you will be as he who lies down in the middle of the sea, or as he who lies on top of the rigging:

³⁵ “They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I don’t feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I will look for more.”

³⁴ And thou shalt be as a man sleeping in the midst of the sea, and as a governor asleeped or sleeping, when the steering, either the instrument of governance, is lost.

³⁵ And thou shalt say, They beat me, but I had not sorrow; they drew me, and I feeled not; when shall I wake out, and I shall find wines again?

³³ Thine eyes shall see strange, (or unknown), women, and thy heart shall speak wayward things.

³⁴ And thou shalt be as a man sleeping in the midst of the sea, and as a governor asleeped, when the steer(ing), either the instrument of governance, is lost.

³⁵ And thou shalt say, They beat me, but I had not sorrow; they drew me, and I feeled not; when shall I wake out, and I shall find wines again? (or when shall I wake up, and I can drink more wine again?)

³³ Thine eyes see strange women, And thy heart speaketh perverse things.

³⁴ And thou hast been as one lying down in the heart of the sea, And as one lying down on the top of a mast.

³⁵ 'They smote me, I have not been sick, They beat me, I have not known. When I awake — I seek it yet again!'
