²⁵ Smite a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; And reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

²⁶ He that doeth violence to his father, and chaseth away his mother, Is a son that causeth shame and bringeth reproach.

²⁷ Cease, my son, to hear instruction Only to err from the words of knowledge.

²⁸ A worthless witness mocketh at justice; And the mouth of the wicked swalloweth iniquity.

²⁹ Judgments are prepared for scoffers, And stripes for the back of fools.

²⁵ When a pestilent character is scourged, a simple man is made wiser: and if thou reprove a wise man, he will understand discretion.

²⁷ My son, if you stop learning things, you will soon forget what you already know.

²⁸ Worthless witnesses in court make fun of judges who try to make fair decisions, and wicked people enjoy doing evil like they enjoy eating good food MET.

²⁹ God is ready to punish those who make fun of him/religion; those who do foolish things deserve to be flogged/whipped.

²⁸ A wicked witness scorneth doom; and the mouth of unpious men devoureth wickedness. (A false witness perverteth justice; and the mouths of the wicked devour wickedness.)

²⁹ Dooms be made ready to scorners; and hammers smiting be made ready to the bodies of fools. (Justice, or judgement, is prepared for mockers; and striking hammers be prepared for the bodies of fools.)

²⁵ A scorner smite, and the simple acts prudently, And give reproof to the intelligent, He understandeth knowledge.
