¹⁸ Chasten thy son, seeing there is hope; And set not thy heart on his destruction.

¹⁹ A man of great wrath shall bear the penalty; For if thou deliver him, thou must do it yet again.

²⁰ Hear counsel, and receive instruction, That thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

²¹ There are many devices in a man’s heart; But the counsel of Jehovah, that shall stand.

¹⁸ Chasten thy son, for so he shall be hopeful; and be not exalted in thy soul to haughtiness.

¹⁹ A malicious man shall be severely punished, and if he commit injury, he shall also lose his life.

²⁰ Pay attention when people give you good advice and learn from them, in order that you will become wise for the rest of your life.

²¹ People plan to do many kinds of things, but what will happen is what Yahweh has decided will happen.

²¹ Many thoughts there be in the heart of a man; but the will of the Lord shall dwell. (There (be) many plans in a person’s heart; but the Lord’s purpose shall stand, (yea, it shall prevail).)
