¹ A soft answer turneth away wrath; But a grievous word stirreth up anger.

² The tongue of the wise uttereth knowledge aright; But the mouth of fools poureth out folly.

³ The eyes of Jehovah are in every place, Keeping watch upon the evil and the good.

⁴ A gentle tongue is a tree of life; But perverseness therein is a breaking of the spirit.

¹ Anger slays even wise men; yet a submissive answer turns away wrath: but a grievous word stirs up anger.

² The tongue of the wise knows what is good: but the mouth of the foolish tells out evil things.

³ The eyes of the Lord behold both the evil and the good in every place.

⁴ The wholesome tongue is a tree of life, and he that keeps it shall be filled with understanding.

¹ When people are angry with you, reply to them gently, and it will calm them; but if you reply harshly to them, it causes them to become more angry.

² When wise people speak MTY, it causes those who hear what they say to want to know more; foolish people continually say MTY what is foolish.

³ Yahweh sees MTY what is happening everywhere; he observes what bad people do as well as what good people do.

⁴ Those who speak MTY kindly to people are like MET trees whose fruit gives life; speaking what is false causes people to ◄despair/feel very discouraged►.

³ The eyes of the Lord in every place behold the good and the evil.

⁴ A peaceable tongue is a tree of life: but that which is immoderate, shall crush the spirit.

¹ A kind reply wards off anger, but hurtful words make people mad.

² What wise people say makes knowledge attractive, but stupid people talk a lot of nonsense.

³ The Lord sees everywhere, watching the evil and the good.

⁴ Gentle words are a source of life, but telling lies does a lot of damage.

¹ A soft answere putteth away wrath: but grieuous wordes stirre vp anger.

² The tongue of the wise vseth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fooles babbleth out foolishnesse.

³ The eyes of the Lord in euery place beholde the euill and the good.

⁴ A wholesome tongue is as a tree of life: but the frowardnes therof is the breaking of ye minde.
