¹ A soft answer turneth away wrath; But a grievous word stirreth up anger.

² The tongue of the wise uttereth knowledge aright; But the mouth of fools poureth out folly.

³ The eyes of Jehovah are in every place, Keeping watch upon the evil and the good.

⁴ A gentle tongue is a tree of life; But perverseness therein is a breaking of the spirit.

⁵ A fool despiseth his father’s correction; But he that regardeth reproof getteth prudence.

⁶ In the house of the righteous is much treasure; But in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

⁷ The lips of the wise disperse knowledge; But the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; But the prayer of the upright is his delight.

⁹ The way of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; But he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

¹⁰ There is grievous correction for him that forsaketh the way; And he that hateth reproof shall die.

¹¹ Sheol and Abaddon are before Jehovah; How much more then the hearts of the children of men!

¹² A scoffer loveth not to be reproved; He will not go unto the wise.

¹³ A glad heart maketh a cheerful countenance; But by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.

¹⁴ The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge; But the mouth of fools feedeth on folly.

⁷ The lips of the wise are bound by discretion: but the hearts of the foolish are not safe.

⁸ The sacrifices of the ungodly are an abomination to the Lord; but the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable with him.

⁹ The ways of an ungodly man are an abomination to the Lord; but he loves those that follow after righteousness.

¹⁰ The instruction of the simple is known by them that pass by; but they that hate reproofs die disgracefully.

¹¹ Hell and destruction are manifest to the Lord; how shall not also be the hearts of men?

¹² An uninstructed person will not love those that reprove him; neither will he associate with the wise.

¹³ When the heart rejoices the countenance is cheerful; but when it is in sorrow, the countenance is sad.

¹ When people are angry with you, reply to them gently, and it will calm them; but if you reply harshly to them, it causes them to become more angry.

² When wise people speak MTY, it causes those who hear what they say to want to know more; foolish people continually say MTY what is foolish.

³ Yahweh sees MTY what is happening everywhere; he observes what bad people do as well as what good people do.

⁴ Those who speak MTY kindly to people are like MET trees whose fruit gives life; speaking what is false causes people to ◄despair/feel very discouraged►.

⁵ Foolish children despise their parents when their parents correct/discipline them; wise children accept it.

⁶ There are many valuable things in the houses of righteous people; the wealth of wicked people causes them to have troubles/difficulties.

⁷ What wise people teach MTY causes others to know much more, but foolish people cannot teach others what is useful.

⁸ Yahweh detests the sacrifices that are offered by wicked people; what delights/pleases him very much are the prayers of righteous/good people.

⁹ Yahweh hates/detests the behavior of wicked people, but he loves those who always do what is righteous/just/fair.

¹⁰ Those who do what is wrong will be severely punished; those who do not want to be corrected will die.

¹¹ Yahweh knows what is happening in the place where dead people DOU are, so he certainly knows RHQ what people are thinking.

¹² Some people do not want to be corrected; they never go to wise people to seek good advice from them.

¹³ When people are happy, they have smiles on their faces; but when they are sad, by looking at their faces we can see that they are sad.

¹⁴ Those who have good sense want to learn more; foolish people MTY are very satisfied with being foolish/ignorant.

⁷ The lips of the wise keep knowledge, but the heart of the foolish man is not right.

⁸ The offering of the evil-doer is disgusting to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright man is his delight.

⁹ The way of the evil-doer is disgusting to the Lord, but he who goes after righteousness is dear to him.

¹⁰ There is bitter punishment for him who is turned from the way; and death will be the fate of the hater of teaching.

¹¹ Before the Lord are the underworld and destruction: how much more, then, the hearts of the children of men!

¹² The hater of authority has no love for teaching: he will not go to the wise.

¹³ A glad heart makes a shining face, but by the sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

¹⁴ The heart of the man of good sense goes in search of knowledge, but foolish things are the food of the unwise.

⁴ A peaceable tongue is a tree of life: but that which is immoderate, shall crush the spirit.

⁵ A fool laugheth at the instruction of his father: but he that regardeth reproofs shall become prudent. In abundant justice there is the greatest strength: but the devices of the wicked shall be rooted out.

⁶ The house of the just is very much strength: and in the fruits of the wicked is trouble.

⁷ The lips of the wise shall disperse knowledge: the heart of fools shall be unlike.

⁸ The victims of the wicked are abominable to the Lord: the vows of the just are acceptable.

⁹ The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: he that followeth justice is beloved by him.

¹² A corrupt man loveth not one that reproveth him: nor will he go to the wise.

¹³ A glad heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by grief of mind the spirit is cast down.

¹⁴ The heart of the wise seeketh instruction: and the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

¹ A kind reply wards off anger, but hurtful words make people mad.

² What wise people say makes knowledge attractive, but stupid people talk a lot of nonsense.

³ The Lord sees everywhere, watching the evil and the good.

⁴ Gentle words are a source of life, but telling lies does a lot of damage.

⁵ Only a foolish son despises his father's instruction, but one who accepts correction is sensible.

⁶ There's plenty of treasure where good people live, but the income of the wicked brings them trouble.

⁷ Wise people share their knowledge, but stupid people don't think like that.

⁸ The Lord hates the sacrifices of the wicked, but he loves the prayers of the good.

⁹ The Lord hates the ways of the wicked, but he loves those who do what is right.

¹⁰ If you leave the right path you will be severely disciplined; anyone who hates correction will die.

¹¹ Those already dead have no secrets from the Lord—how much more does he know our thoughts!

¹² Scoffers don't like to be corrected, so they don't go to the wise for advice.

¹³ If you're happy inside, you'll have a cheerful face, but if you're sad, you look crushed.

¹⁴ An insightful mind looks for knowledge, but stupid people feed on foolishness.
