³ He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; But he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

⁴ The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

⁵ A righteous man hateth lying; But a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

⁶ Righteousness guardeth him that is upright in the way; But wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

⁷ There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: There is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great wealth.

³ He that keeps his own mouth keeps his own life: but he that is hasty with his lips shall bring terror upon himself.

⁴ Every slothful man desires, but the hands of the active are diligent.

⁵ A righteous man hates an unjust word: but an ungodly man is ashamed, and will have no confidence.

⁷ There are some who, having nothing, enrich themselves: and there are some who bring themselves down in the midst of much wealth.

⁴ People who are lazy want things very much, but they will not get anything HYP. People who work hard will get all that they want.

⁵ Righteous/Honest people hate/detest lies, but what wicked people do ◄is very disgraceful/stinks► DOU.

⁶ The behavior PRS of those who always do what is right will protect them, but sinful behavior will ruin wicked people.

⁷ Some people who have nothing pretend to be rich, but other people who are very rich pretend to be poor.

⁴ A sluggard's soul desireth and hath nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

⁵ A righteous man hateth lying; but the wicked maketh himself odious and cometh to shame.

⁶ Righteousness preserveth him that is perfect in the way; but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

⁷ There is that feigneth himself rich, and hath nothing; there is that maketh himself poor, and hath great wealth.

³ He that keepeth his mouth, keepeth his soul: but he that hath no guard on his speech shall meet with evils.

⁴ The sluggard willeth and willeth not: but the soul of them that work, shall be made fat.

⁵ The just shall hate a lying word: but the wicked confoundeth, and shall be confounded.

⁶ Justice keepeth the way of the innocent: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

⁷ One is as it were rich, when he hath nothing: and another is as it were poor, when he hath great riches.

³ Watch what you say and save your life—saying too much leads to disaster.

⁴ Lazy people want a lot, but get nothing; if you work hard you'll be well rewarded.

⁵ Good people hate lies, but the wicked cause a stink and bring disgrace.

⁶ Goodness protects those who live right, but sin overcomes the wicked.

⁷ Some pretend to be rich, but don't have anything, while others pretend to be poor and are very rich.

³ Hee that keepeth his mouth, keepeth his life: but he that openeth his lips, destruction shall be to him.

⁴ The sluggard lusteth, but his soule hath nought: but the soule of the diligent shall haue plentie.

⁵ A righteous man hateth lying wordes: but the wicked causeth slander and shame.

⁶ Righteousnesse preserueth the vpright of life: but wickednes ouerthroweth the sinner.

⁷ There is that maketh himselfe riche, and hath nothing, and that maketh himselfe poore, hauing great riches.

³ He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; but for him that openeth wide his lips there shall be ruin.

⁵ A just or rightwise man shall loathe a false word; but a wicked man shameth, and shall be shamed.

⁶ Rightfulness or Rightwiseness keepeth the way of an innocent man; but wickedness deceiveth a sinner.

⁷ A man is as rich, when he hath nothing; and a man is as poor, when he is in many riches.

³ He that keepeth his mouth, keepeth his soul; but he that is unwary to speak, shall feel evils. (He who guardeth his mouth, keepeth his soul safe; but he who is careless when he speaketh, shall experience evil.)

⁴ A slow man will, and will not; but the soul of them that work shall be made fat. (A lazy person desireth, and desireth not; but those who do work shall prosper.)

⁵ A just man shall loathe a false word; but a wicked man shameth, and shall be shamed. (The righteous loathe a lie; but the wicked shame, and shall be shamed.)

⁶ Rightfulness keepeth (safe) the way of an innocent man; but wickedness deceiveth a sinner.

⁷ A man is as rich, when he hath nothing; and a man is as poor, when he is in many riches. (A person can be rich, even when he hath nothing; and a person can be poor, even when he hath many riches.)

³ Whoso is keeping his mouth, is keeping his soul, Whoso is opening wide his lips — ruin to him!

⁴ The soul of the slothful is desiring, and hath not. And the soul of the diligent is made fat.

⁵ A false word the righteous hateth, And the wicked causeth abhorrence, and is confounded.

⁶ Righteousness keepeth him who is perfect in the way, And wickedness overthroweth a sin offering.

⁷ There is who is making himself rich, and hath nothing, Who is making himself poor, and wealth is abundant.
