Proverbs 10:2-6 in English

² Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; But righteousness delivereth from death.

³ Jehovah will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; But he thrusteth away the desire of the wicked.

⁴ He becometh poor that worketh with a slack hand; But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

⁵ He that gathereth in summer is a wise son; But he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

⁶ Blessings are upon the head of the righteous; But violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

⁴ Poverty brings a man low: but the hands of the vigorous make rich.

² Money that you get by doing dishonest/wicked things will really not benefit you; but by living righteously you will live for ◄a long time/many years►.

³ Yahweh does not allow righteous people to starve, but he will prevent wicked people from getting what they want.

⁴ Lazy people soon become poor; it is those who work hard who become rich.

⁵ Those who are wise, harvest the crops when they are ripe; it is shameful/disgraceful to sleep and not work during harvest time.

⁶ Righteous people will be blessed by God; the nice things that wicked people say MTY sometimes conceal the fact that they are planning to act violently.

⁴ The slothful hand hath wrought poverty: but the hand of the industrious getteth riches. He that trusteth to lies feedeth the winds: and the same runneth after birds that fly away.

⁵ He that gathered in the harvest is a wise son: but he that snorteth in the summer, is the son of confusion.

² Wealth gained through evil does you no good; but living right saves you from death.

³ The Lord doesn't let good people go hungry, but he stops the wicked from getting what they want.

⁴ Lazy hands make you poor, but hard-working hands make you rich.

⁵ A son who gathers crops during the summer is sensible, but the one who sleeps during harvest brings disgrace.

⁶ Those who are good are blessed, but what the wicked say hides their violent nature.

³ The Lord shall not torment the soul of a just or rightwise man with hunger; and he shall destroy the treasons of unpious men.

⁴ A slow hand hath wrought needi-ness; but the hand of strong men maketh ready riches. Forsooth he that enforceth or endeavoureth to get any-thing by leasings, feedeth the winds; soothly the same man pursueth birds flying or followeth flying birds.

⁵ He that gathereth together in harvest, is a wise son; but he that sleepeth in summer, is a son of confusion.

⁶ The blessing of God is over the head of a just or rightwise man; but wickedness covereth the mouth of wicked men.

³ The Lord shall not torment the soul of a just man with hunger; and he shall destroy the treasons of unpious men. (The Lord shall not torment the righteous with hunger; but he shall destroy the desires of the wicked.)

⁴ A slow hand hath wrought neediness; but the hand of strong men maketh ready riches. Forsooth he that enforceth to get anything by leasings, feedeth the winds; soothly the same man followeth birds flying. (Lazy hands create neediness; but strong hands create riches. He who endeavoureth to get anything by lying, feedeth the wind; yea, that person runneth after birds in flight.)

⁵ He that gathereth together in harvest, is a wise son; but he that sleepeth in summer, is a son of confusion. (He who gathereth together at harvest time, is wise; but he who sleepeth in summer, is a disgrace.)

⁶ The blessing of God is over the head of a just man; but wickedness covereth the mouth of wicked men. (The blessing of God is upon the heads of the righteous; but wickedness covereth the mouths of the wicked.)

⁴ Poor is he who is working — a slothful hand, And the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

⁵ Whoso is gathering in summer is a wise son, Whoso is sleeping in harvest is a son causing shame.

⁶ Blessings are for the head of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked cover doth violence.
