¹¹ The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life; But violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

¹² Hatred stirreth up strifes; But love covereth all transgressions.

¹³ In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found; But a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

¹⁴ Wise men lay up knowledge; But the mouth of the foolish is a present destruction.

¹⁵ The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

¹⁶ The labor of the righteous tendeth to life; The increase of the wicked, to sin.

¹⁷ He is in the way of life that heedeth correction; But he that forsaketh reproof erreth.

¹⁸ He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; And he that uttereth a slander is a fool.

¹⁹ In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; But he that refraineth his lips doeth wisely.

²⁰ The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver: The heart of the wicked is little worth.

²¹ The lips of the righteous feed many; But the foolish die for lack of understanding.

²² The blessing of Jehovah, it maketh rich; And he addeth no sorrow therewith.

²³ It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness; And so is wisdom to a man of understanding.

¹¹ What righteous people say MTY is like a fountain that ◄gives life/enables people to live many years► MET, but what wicked people say MTY hides the fact that they intend to act violently.

¹² When we hate others, it causes quarrels, but if we love others, we forgive them for the wrong things that they do.

¹³ Those who have good sense say MTY what is wise, but people who do not have good sense must be punished.

¹⁴ Wise people continue to learn all that they can, but when foolish people speak, they soon cause trouble.

¹⁵ The wealth that rich people have protects them like a city is protected by a strong wall around it MET, but people who are poor suffer much because they have no one to help them.

¹⁶ If you are righteous, your reward will be a good life, but all that sinful people gain is to sin more.

¹⁷ Those who pay attention when others try to ◄correct them/teach them what they are doing that is wrong► will live ◄happily/for many years►; but those who reject being rebuked will not find the road to life (OR, cause others to go astray).

¹⁸ Those who will not admit that they hate others are liars, and those who slander others are foolish.

¹⁹ When people talk a lot, that will lead them to sin a lot by what they say; if you are wise, you will refuse to say very much.

²⁰ What righteous/good people say MTY is as valuable as pure silver MET; what wicked people think is worthless.

²¹ What righteous people say MTY benefits many people, but foolish people die because of the stupid things that they do.

²² Yahweh blesses some people by enabling them to become rich, and working hard will not make them to become richer (OR, and he will not also cause them to become sad).

²³ Foolish people ◄have fun/enjoy► doing what is wrong, but wise/sensible people enjoy doing what is wise.

²⁴ Righteous people will get the good things that they want/desire, but what wicked people are afraid of is what will happen to them.

²⁵ When storms come, the wicked will ◄be blown away/never be safe►, but righteous people will be safe forever.

²⁶ We do not like a lazy person who refuses to do the job that he is given to do, just like we do not like vinegar in our mouths or smoke in our eyes.

²⁷ If you revere Yahweh, you will live for a long time; but wicked people die before they become old.

²⁸ Righteous people confidently expect that good things will happen to them, and that causes them to be happy/joyful; but when wicked people confidently expect something good to happen, it does not happen.

²⁹ Yahweh protects MET those who live righteously, but he destroys those who do what is evil.

³⁰ Righteous people will always be secure LIT, but wicked people will be removed from their land (OR, from this earth).

¹⁶ The work of a just or rightwise man is to life; but the fruit of a wicked man is to sin.

¹⁷ The way of life is to him that keepeth chastising or discipline; but he that forsaketh blamings, erreth.

¹⁸ False lips hide hatred; he that bringeth forth despising is unwise.

¹⁹ Sin shall not fail in much speaking; but he that measureth his lips, is most prudent.

²⁰ Chosen silver is the tongue of a just or rightwise man; the heart of wicked men is for nought.

²¹ The lips of a just or rightwise man teach full many men; but they that be unlearned shall die in neediness of heart.

²² The blessing of the Lord maketh rich men; and torment shall not be fellowshipped to them.

²³ A fool worketh wickedness as by laughing; but wisdom is prudence to a man or but prudence is to a wise man.

²⁴ That that a wicked man dreadeth, shall come up on him; the desire of just or rightwise men shall be given to them.

²⁵ As a tempest passing, a wicked man shall not be; but a just or rightwise man shall be as an ever-lasting foundament.

²⁶ As vinegar annoyeth the teeth, and smoke the eyes; so a slow man annoyeth them that sent him in the way.

²⁷ The dread of the Lord increaseth days; and the years of wicked men shall be made short.

²⁸ Abiding of just or rightwise men is gladness; but the hope of wicked men shall perish.

²⁹ The strength of a simple man is the way of the Lord; and dread to them that work evil.

³⁰ A just or rightwise man shall not be moved without end; but wicked men shall not dwell on the earth.

¹¹ The vein of life is the mouth of a just man; but the mouth of wicked men covereth wickedness. (The words of the righteous be a fountain of life; but wickedness covereth the mouths of the wicked.)

¹² Hatred raiseth up chidings; and charity covereth all sins. (Hatred raiseth up arguments, or strife; but love covereth all sins.)

¹³ Wisdom is found in the lips of a wise man; and a rod in the back of him that is needy of heart. (Wisdom is found on the lips of the wise; and a rod on the back of him who is foolish.)

¹⁴ Wise men hide knowing (or The wise store up knowledge); but the mouth of a fool is next to confusion.

¹⁵ The chattel of a rich man is the city of his strength; the dread of poor men is the neediness of them. (The substance of a rich man is his strong city; the fear of the poor is their own neediness.)

²³ A fool worketh wickedness as by laughing; but wisdom is prudence to a man, or but prudence is to a wise man. (A fool worketh wickedness with laughter; but wisdom is a delight to those with understanding.)

²⁴ That that a wicked man dreadeth, shall come up on him; the desire of just men shall be given to them. (That which the wicked fear, shall come upon them; and the desire of the righteous shall be given to them.)

²⁵ As a tempest passing, a wicked man shall not be; but a just man shall be as an everlasting foundament. (Like a tempest passing by, a wicked person shall soon not be; but the foundations of the righteous be everlasting.)

²⁶ As vinegar harmeth the teeth, and smoke harmeth the eyes; so a slow man harmeth them that sent him in the way. (Like vinegar harmeth the teeth, and smoke harmeth the eyes; so a lazy man harmeth those who sent him on the way.)

²⁷ The dread of the Lord increaseth days; and the years of wicked men shall be made short. (The fear of the Lord or Reverence for the Lord increaseth days; and the years of the wicked shall be made short.)

²⁸ Abiding of just men is gladness; but the hope of wicked men shall perish. (Hopeful waiting by the righteous shall lead to gladness; but all the hopes of the wicked shall perish.)

²⁹ The strength of a simple man is the way of the Lord; and dread to them that work evil. (The way of the Lord giveth strength to an honest person; but fear to those who work evil.)

³⁰ A just man shall not be moved into without end; but wicked men shall not dwell on the earth. (The righteous shall not be moved forever; but the wicked shall not remain on the earth, or in the land.)

¹¹ A fountain of life is the mouth of the righteous, And the mouth of the wicked cover doth violence.

¹² Hatred awaketh contentions, And over all transgressions love covereth.

¹³ In the lips of the intelligent is wisdom found, And a rod is for the back of him who is lacking understanding.

¹⁴ The wise lay up knowledge, and the mouth of a fool is near ruin.

¹⁵ The wealth of the rich is his strong city, The ruin of the poor is their poverty.

¹⁶ The wage of the righteous is for life, The increase of the wicked for sin.

¹⁷ A traveller to life is he who is keeping instruction, And whoso is forsaking rebuke is erring.

¹⁸ Whoso is covering hatred with lying lips, And whoso is bringing out an evil report is a fool.

¹⁹ In the abundance of words transgression ceaseth not, And whoso is restraining his lips is wise.

²⁰ The tongue of the righteous is chosen silver, The heart of the wicked — as a little thing.

²¹ The lips of the righteous delight many, And fools for lack of heart die.

²² The blessing of Jehovah — it maketh rich, And He addeth no grief with it.

²³ To execute inventions is as play to a fool, And wisdom to a man of understanding.

²⁴ The feared thing of the wicked it meeteth him, And the desire of the righteous is given.

²⁵ As the passing by of a hurricane, So the wicked is not, And the righteous is a foundation age-during.

²⁶ As vinegar to the teeth, And as smoke to the eyes, So is the slothful to those sending him.

²⁷ The fear of Jehovah addeth days, And the years of the wicked are shortened.

²⁸ The hope of the righteous is joyful, And the expectation of the wicked perisheth.

²⁹ The way of Jehovah is strength to the perfect, And ruin to workers of iniquity.

³⁰ The righteous to the age is not moved, And the wicked inhabit not the earth.
