John 1:29-34 in English

²⁹ On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man who is become before me: for he was before me.

³¹ And I knew him not; but that he should be made manifest to Israel, for this cause came I baptizing in water.

³² And John bare witness, saying, I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven; and it abode upon him.

³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize in water, he said unto me, Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding upon him, the same is he that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.

³⁴ And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.

²⁹ The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Look! God’s Lamb who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is the One I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me is preferred before me because He existed before me.’

³¹ I didn’t know Him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that He might be revealed to Israel.”

³² John testified, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from Heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.

³³ I wouldn’t have known Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘Whoever you see the Spirit descending upon, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Son.”

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him. He said to the people, “Look! Here is the man whom God has appointed to be a sacrifice MET, like the lambs that the people of Israel sacrificed! By sacrificing himself he will make it possible for everyone in the world to be no longer guilty for having sinned.

³⁰ He is the one about whom I said before, ‘Someone will come later who is more important than I am, since he existed long before me.’

³¹ I myself did not previously recognize that he was the Messiah. But now I know who he is, and I have baptized people with water to enable you people of Israel to recognize who he is.”

³² John spoke clearly what God had shown him about Jesus. He said, “I saw God's Spirit as he was descending from heaven in the form of a dove. The Spirit remained on Jesus.

³³ I myself did not know previously that he was the Messiah. However, God sent me to baptize people with water, people who said they wanted to turn from their sinful ways. While I was doing that, God told me, ‘The man on whom you will see my Spirit descend and remain is the one who will put the Holy Spirit within you (pl) to truly change your lives.’

³⁴ I saw the Spirit descend on him, and I tell you that he is ◄the Son of God/the person who is both God and man►.”

²⁹ The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is preferred before me, for he was before me.’

³¹ I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water, that he would be revealed to Israel.”

³² John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.

³³ I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

²⁹ The day after, John sees Jesus coming to him and says, See, here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is he of whom I said, One is coming after me who is put over me because he was in existence before me.

³¹ I myself had no knowledge of him, but I came giving baptism with water so that he might be seen openly by Israel.

³² And John gave this witness, saying, I saw the Spirit coming down from heaven like a dove and resting on him.

³³ I had no knowledge who he was, but he who sent me to give baptism with water said to me, The one on whom you see the Spirit coming down and resting, it is he who gives baptism with the Holy Spirit.

³⁴ This I saw myself and my witness is that he is the Son of God.

²⁹ On the morrow he sees Jesus coming to him, and says, Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

³² And John gave testimony, saying: I saw the Spirit coming down, as a dove from heaven, and he remained upon him.

³³ And I knew him not; but he who sent me to baptize with water, said to me: He upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining upon him, he it is that baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

³⁴ And I saw, and I gave testimony, that this is the Son of God.

³⁴ And I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

²⁹ The next day John sees Jesus coming toward him and says: “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is now ahead of me, because He existed before I did.’

³¹ I did not know Him; but so that He should be revealed to Israel, that is why I came baptizing with water.”

³² And John testified saying: “I observed the Spirit coming down like a dove out of heaven, and He rested upon Him.

³³ Now I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water, He said to me, ‘The One upon whom you see the Spirit coming down and resting—this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ So I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus approaching him, and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man who is coming after me is more important than me, for before I ever existed he already was.’

³¹ I didn't know myself who he was, but I came baptizing with water so that he could be revealed to Israel.”

³² John gave his evidence about him, saying, “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove and rest upon him.

³³ I wouldn't have known him except he who sent me to baptize with water had told me, ‘The one you see the Spirit descend to and rest upon, he is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ I saw it happen and I declare that this is the Son of God.”

²⁹ The next day Iohn, seeth Iesus comming vnto him, and saith, Beholde that Lambe of God, which taketh away the sinne of the world.

³⁰ This is he of whom I saide, After me commeth a man, which was before me: for he was better then I.

³¹ And I knewe him not: but because he should be declared to Israel, therefore am I come, baptizing with water.

³² So Iohn bare recorde, saying, I behelde that Spirit come downe from heauen, like a doue, and it abode vpon him,

³³ And I knewe him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, he saide vnto me, Vpon whom thou shalt see that Spirit come downe, and tary still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the holy Ghost.

³⁴ And I sawe, and bare record that this is that Sonne of God.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him, and exclaimed, “Here is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

³¹ I did not know who he was, but I have come baptizing with water to make him known to Israel.”

³² John also said: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven like a dove and rest on him.

³³ I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water, he said to me ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him — he it is who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ This I have seen myself, and I have declared my belief that he is the Son of God.”

²⁹ The next day, he saw Yeshua Salvation coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is preferred before me, for he was before me.’

³¹ I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water: that he would be revealed to Israel God prevails.”

³² John Yah is gracious testified, saying, “I have seen haRuach the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.

³³ I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water, he said to me, ‘On whomever you will see haRuach the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he who baptizes in Ruach haKodesh Spirit of the Holiness.’

³⁴ I have seen, and have testified that this is the Ben-Elohim ·Son of Elohim God·.”

²⁹ The nexte daye Iohn sawe Iesus commyge vnto him and sayde: beholde the lambe of God which taketh awaye the synne of the worlde.

³⁰ This is he of whom I sayde. After me cometh a man which was before me for he was yer then I

³¹ and I knew him not: but that he shuld be declared to Israell therfore am I come baptisynge with water.

³² And Iohn bare recorde sayinge: I sawe the sprete descende from heven lyke vnto a dove and abyde apon him

³³ and I knewe him not. But he that sent me to baptise in water the same sayde vnto me: apon whom thou shalt se the sprete descende and tary styll on him the same is he which baptiseth with the holy goost.

³⁴ And I sawe and bare recorde that this is the sonne of God.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Look, there is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰ This is the one of whom I said, 'The one who comes after me is more than me, for he was before me.'

³¹ I did not know him, but it was so that he could be revealed to Israel that I came baptizing with water.”

³² John testified, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven, and it stayed upon him.

³³ I did not recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water said to me, 'Upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending and remaining on him, he is the one baptizing in the Holy Spirit.'

³⁴ I have both seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

³⁴ I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

²⁹ The next day, he saw Yeshua coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

³¹ I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came immersing in water, that he would be revealed to Israel.”

³² Yochanan testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.

³³ I didn’t recognise him, but he who sent me to immerse in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who immerses in the Holy Spirit.’

³⁴ I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

³³ And I knew him not; but he that sent me to baptize in water, said to me, On whom thou seest the Spirit coming down, and dwelling on him, this is he, that baptizeth in the Holy Ghost.

³⁴ And I saw, and bare witnessing, that this is the Son of God.

²⁹ Another (or The next) day John saw Jesus coming to him, and he said, Lo! the lamb of God; lo! he that doeth away the sins of the world.

³⁰ This is he, that I said of, After me is come a man or After me cometh a man, which was made before me; for he was rather or former than I (or for he already was, before that I was).

³¹ And I knew him not, but that he be showed in Israel, therefore I came baptizing in water.

³² And John bare witnessing, and said, I saw the Spirit coming down as a culver from heaven, and (it) dwelled on him or and dwelling upon him. (And John testified, and said, I saw the Spirit coming down like a dove from heaven, and dwelling upon him.)

³³ And I knew him not; but he that sent me to baptize in water, said to me, On whom thou seest the Spirit coming down, and dwelling on him, this is he, that baptizeth in the Holy Ghost, (or this is he, who baptizeth with the Holy Spirit).

³⁴ And I saw, and bare witnessing (or and I testify), that this is the Son of God.

²⁹ Anothir day Joon say Jhesu comynge to hym, and he seide, Lo! the lomb of God; lo! he that doith awei the synnes of the world.

³⁰ This is he, that Y seide of, Aftir me is comun a man, which was maad bifor me; for he was rather than Y.

³¹ And Y knew hym not, but that he be schewid in Israel, therfor Y cam baptisynge in watir.

³² And Joon bar witnessyng, and seide, That Y saiy the spirit comynge doun as a culuer fro heuene, and dwellide on hym.

³³ And Y knew hym not; but he that sente me to baptise in watir, seide to me, On whom thou seest the Spirit comynge doun, and dwellynge on hym, this is he, that baptisith in the Hooli Goost.

³⁴ And Y say, and bar witnessyng, that this is the sone of God.

³² And John testified, saying — 'I have seen the Spirit coming down, as a dove, out of heaven, and it remained on him;

³³ and I did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water, He said to me, On whomsoever thou mayest see the Spirit coming down, and remaining on him, this is he who is baptizing with the Holy Spirit;

³⁴ and I have seen, and have testified, that this is the Son of God.'
