John 6:14-22 in American Standard Version (1901)

14 When therefore the people saw the sign which he did, they said, This is of a truth the prophet that cometh into the world.
15 Jesus therefore perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain himself alone.
16 And when evening came, his disciples went down unto the sea;
17 and they entered into a boat, and were going over the sea unto Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
18 And the sea was rising by reason of a great wind that blew.
19 When therefore they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they behold Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the boat: and they were afraid.
20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
21 They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat: and straightway the boat was at the land whither they were going.
22 On the morrow the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, save one, and that Jesus entered not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples went away alone

John 6:14-22 in God's Living Word

14 When the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
15 When Jesus perceived that they meant to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He withdrew again to the mountain by Himself.
16 When evening came, Jesus’ disciples went down to the sea,
17 got into the boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
18 The sea arose because a great wind was blowing.
19 When they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat. They were terrified,
20 but He told them, “It’s me. Don’t be afraid.”
21 Then they willingly took Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.
22 The next day, the crowd that had stayed on the other side of the sea saw that there had been only one boat there. They also saw that Jesus had not gone in the boat with His disciples, but that His disciples had gone away alone.

19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

John 6:14-22 in Translation for Translators

14 After the people saw that miracle that Jesus had performed, many of them started to say, “Surely this is the prophet like Moses that God promised to send to the world!”
15 So, because Jesus realized that they were about to come and seize him to make him their king, he left them again and went up into the hills by himself.
16 When it was evening, we disciples went down to Galilee Lake.
17 When it became dark and Jesus had still not joined us, we got into a boat and went across the lake towards Capernaum city.
18 A strong wind started to blow and caused the water ◄to become very rough/to have high waves►.
19 After we had rowed ◄three or four miles/five or six kilometers►, we saw Jesus coming near the boat; he was walking on the water! So we were terrified!
20 But he said to us, “Do not be afraid! It is I!”
21 We were glad to take him into the boat. As soon as we did that, the boat reached the shore where we were going!
22 The next day the crowd of people that had stayed on the other side of the lake were perplexed about how Jesus had left that area. They knew that there had been only one boat there the previous day. They knew that we had gone away in it by ourselves. They knew that Jesus had not gone with us.

14 And when the people saw the sign which he had done, they said, Truly, this is the prophet who is to come into the world.
15 Now when Jesus saw that the people were about to come and take him by force to make him a king, he went away again up the mountain by himself.
16 When evening came the disciples went down to the sea;
17 And they took a boat and went across the sea in the direction of Capernaum. By then it was dark and still Jesus had not come to them.
18 The sea was getting rough because of a strong wind which was blowing.
19 After they had gone three or four miles they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near to the boat; and they had great fear.
20 But he said to them, It is I, have no fear.
21 Then they readily took him into the boat: and straight away the boat was at the land to which they were going.
22 The day after, the people who were on the other side of the sea saw that only one small boat had been there, that Jesus had not gone in that boat with the disciples, but that the disciples had gone away by themselves.

17 They entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Yeshua had not come to them.
18 The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.
19 When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they saw Yeshua walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid.
20 But he said to them, “It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
21 They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat. Immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.
22 On the next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except the one in which his disciples had embarked, and that Yeshua hadn’t entered with his disciples into the boat, but his disciples had gone away alone.

16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea.

14 Therefore those men, when they had seen the sign or the token, or miracle, that he had done, said, For this is verily the prophet, that is to come into the world.
15 And when Jesus had known, that they were to come to take him, and make him king, he flew or fled alone again into an hill.
16 And when eventide was come, his disciples went down to the sea.
17 And they went up into a boat, and they came over the sea into Capernaum. And darknesses were made then, and Jesus was not or had not come to them.
18 And for a great wind blew, the sea rose up.
