John 5:22-36 in American Standard Version (1901)

22 For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son;
23 that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:
27 and he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice,
29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.
30 I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
32 It is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
33 Ye have sent unto John, and he hath borne witness unto the truth.
34 But the witness which I receive is not from man: howbeit I say these things, that ye may be saved.
35 He was the lamp that burneth and shineth; and ye were willing to rejoice for a season in his light.
36 But the witness which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given me to accomplish, the very works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
John 5 in American Standard Version (1901)

John 5:22-36 in God's Living Word

22 The Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,
23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent Him.
24 “Most assuredly, I tell you, the person who hears my words and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life, and won’t come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
25 Most assuredly, I tell you, the time is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of God’s Son, and those who hear will live.
26 For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,
27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.
28 Don’t marvel at this, for the time is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice
29 and come out — those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
30 I can do nothing by myself. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of the Father who sent me.
31 “If I testify about myself, my testimony isn’t valid.
32 There is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that his testimony about me is valid.
33 You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.
34 Not that I accept human testimony, but I tell you this so that you may be saved.
35 John was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.
36 I have a greater testimony than John’s. The works that the Father has given me to finish — the very works that I do — testify about me, that the Father has sent me.

John 5:22-36 in King James (Authorized) Version

22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

John 5:22-36 in Translation for Translators

22 Furthermore, my Father is not the one who judges people concerning their sins. Instead, he has given to me the work of judging people,
23 in order that all people may honor me, just like they honor my Father. My Father considers that anyone who does not honor me is not honoring him, the one who sent me.
24 Listen to this carefully: Those who hear my message and believe that God is the one who sent me have eternal life. God will not ◄condemn them/say that he will punish them►. They are no longer separated from God. Instead, they have eternal life.
25 Listen to this carefully: There will be a time when those who are ◄spiritually dead/separated from God► will hear the voice of me, ◄the Son of God/the man who is also God►. In fact, it is that time already. Those who hear and pay attention to my message will have eternal life.
26 My Father has power to make things live. Similarly, he has given me the power to enable people to live eternally.
27 Because I am the one who came from heaven, he has given me the authority to judge people concerning their sins.
28 Do not be surprised about that, because there will be a time when all people who have died will hear my voice,
29 and they will become alive again. Those who have lived good lives will rise from their graves and live forever. But those who have lived evil lives will rise, and I will ◄condemn them/declare that I will punish them for their sins►.
30 I do not do anything like that by my own authority. I judge people only according to what I hear my Father tell me. I will judge people fairly, because I do not want to please only myself. Instead, I want to please my Father, who sent me.
31 If I were the only one to tell people about myself, people could rightly say that what I say is not true.
32 But there is someone else who tells people about me. And I know that what he tells people about me is true.
33 As for you, when you sent messengers to John the Baptizer to ask about me, he told the truth about me.
34 I do not need that people tell others about me. But instead, I am reminding you about what John told people about me, in order that you will believe it and be saved { God will save you}.
35 John's message about me (OR, John) MET was like a lamp that shines brightly. For a short while you were willing to be made happy by that message {to let that message make you happy}.
36 But there is something else that tells you about me. It should prove who I am more than what John said about me. The miracles PRS that my Father told me to do, the miracles that I am performing, show (OR, prove) to people that my Father sent me.

John 5:22-36 in Bible in Basic English

22 The Father is not the judge of men, but he has given all decisions into the hands of the Son;
23 So that all men may give honour to the Son even as they give honour to the Father. He who gives no honour to the Son gives no honour to the Father who sent him.
24 Truly I say to you, The man whose ears are open to my word and who has faith in him who sent me, has eternal life; he will not be judged, but has come from death into life.
25 Truly I say to you, The time is coming, it has even now come, when the voice of the Son of God will come to the ears of the dead, and those hearing it will have life.
26 For even as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son to have life in himself.
27 And he has given him authority to be judge because he is the Son of man.
28 Do not be surprised at this: for the time is coming when his voice will come to all who are in the place of the dead,
29 And they will come out; those who have done good, into the new life; and those who have done evil, to be judged.
30 Of myself I am unable to do anything: as the voice comes to me so I give a decision: and my decision is right because I have no desire to do what is pleasing to myself, but only what is pleasing to him who sent me.
31 If I gave witness about myself, my witness would not be true.
32 There is another who gives witness about me and I am certain that the witness he gives about me is true.
33 You sent to John and he gave true witness.
34 But I have no need of a man's witness: I only say these things so that you may have salvation.
35 He was a burning and shining light, and for a time you were ready to be happy in his light.
36 But the witness which I have is greater than that of John: the work which the Father has given me to do, the very work which I am now doing, is a witness that the Father has sent me.

22 In fact the Father does not judge anyone but has committed all the judging to the Son,
23 so that all will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
24 “Most assuredly I say to you that the one listening to my word and believing on Him who sent me has eternal life; he will not go into judging but has moved out of the death into the Life.
25 “Most assuredly I say to you that a time is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of the God, and those who listen will live.
26 Because just as the Father has life in Himself, just so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;
27 furthermore He gave Him the authority to pass judgment, because He is Son of Man.
28 Do not marvel at this, because a time is coming in which all those in the graves will hear His voice
29 and will come out—those who did good things into the resurrection of life, but those who practiced evil things into the resurrection of condemnation.

John 5:22-36 in Free Bible Version

22 The Father judges no one. He has given to the Son all the authority to judge,
23 so that everyone may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who doesn't honor the Son doesn't honor the Father who sent him.
24 I tell you the truth: those who follow what I say and trust the one who sent me have eternal life. They won't be condemned, but have gone from death to life.
25 I tell you the truth: The time is coming—in fact it's here already—when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live!
26 Just as the Father has life-giving power in himself, so has he given the Son the same life-giving power in himself.
27 The Father also granted the authority for judgment to him, for he is the Son of man.
28 Don't be surprised at this, for the time is coming when all those in the grave will hear his voice
29 and will rise again: those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation.
30 I can do nothing by myself. I judge based on what I'm told, and my decision is right, for I'm not doing my own will but the will of the one who sent me.
31 If I were to make claims about myself, such claims wouldn't be valid;
32 but someone else gives evidence about me, and I know what he says about me is true.
33 You asked John about me, and he told the truth,
34 but I don't need any human endorsement. I'm explaining this to you so you can be saved.
35 John was like a brightly-burning light, and you were willing to enjoy his light for a while.
36 But the evidence I'm giving is greater than John's. For I am doing the work that the Father gave me to do,

John 5:22-36 in Geneva Bible 1599

22 For the Father iudgeth no man, but hath committed all iudgement vnto the Sonne,
23 Because that all men shoulde honour the Sonne, as they honour the Father: he that honoureth not the Sonne, the same honoureth not the Father, which hath sent him.
24 Verely, verely I say vnto you, he that heareth my worde, and beleeueth him that sent me, hath euerlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but hath passed from death vnto life.
25 Verely, verely I say vnto you, the houre shall come, and now is, when the dead shall heare the voyce of the Sonne of God: and they that heare it, shall liue.
26 For as the Father hath life in himselfe, so likewise hath he giuen to the Sonne to haue life in himselfe,
27 And hath giuen him power also to execute iudgement, in that he is the Sonne of man.
28 Marueile not at this: for the houre shall come, in the which all that are in the graues, shall heare his voyce.
29 And they shall come foorth, that haue done good, vnto ye resurrection of life: but they that haue done euil, vnto the resurrection of condemnation.
30 I can doe nothing of mine owne selfe: as I heare, I iudge: and my iudgement is iust, because I seeke not mine owne will, but the will of the Father who hath sent me.
31 If I should beare witnesse of my selfe, my witnesse were not true.
32 There is another that beareth witnesse of me, and I know that the witnesse, which he beareth of me, is true.
33 Ye sent vnto Iohn, and he bare witnesse vnto the trueth.
34 But I receiue not the record of man: neuerthelesse these things I say, that ye might be saued.
35 He was a burning, and a shining candle: and ye would for a season haue reioyced in his light.
36 But I haue greater witnesse then the witnesse of Iohn: for the workes which the Father hath giuen me to finish, the same workes that I doe, beare witnesse of me, that the Father sent me.

John 5:22-36 in George Noyes Bible

22 For neither doth the Father judge any one, but hath committed all judgment to the Son;
23 that all may honor the Son, as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son, honoreth not the Father, who sent him.
24 Truly, truly do I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and cometh not into condemnation, but hath passed out of death into life.
25 Truly, truly do I say to you, The hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear will live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself, so did he give to the Son also to have life in himself.
27 And he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
28 Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice,
29 and will come forth, they that have done good, to a resurrection of life; they that have done evil, to a resurrection of condemnation.
30 I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

22 The Father himself does not judge any one, but has entrusted the work of judging entirely to his Son,
23 so that everyone may honour the Son, just as they honour the Father. The person who does not honour the Son fails to honour the Father who sent him.
24 In truth I tell you that the person who listens to my message and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and does not come under condemnation, but has already passed out of death into life.
25 In truth I tell you that a time is coming, indeed it is already here, when the dead will listen to the voice of the Son of God, and when those who listen will live.
26 For, just as the Father has inherent life within him, so also he has granted to the Son to have inherent life within him;
27 and, because he is Son of Man, he has also given him authority to act as judge.
28 Do not wonder at this; for the time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice,
29 and will come out — those who have done good rising to life, and those who have lived evil lives rising for condemnation.
30 I can do nothing of myself; I judge as I am taught; and the judgement that I give is just, because my aim is not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
31 “If I bear testimony to myself, my testimony is not trustworthy;
32 it is another who bears testimony to me, and I know that the testimony which he bears to me is trustworthy.
33 You have yourselves sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.

35 He was the Lamp that was burning and shining, and you were ready to rejoice, for a time, in his light.

22 for neither doth the Father judge any one, but all the judgment He hath given to the Son,
23 that all may honour the Son according as they honour the Father; he who is not honouring the Son, doth not honour the Father who sent him.
24 'Verily, verily, I say to you — He who is hearing my word, and is believing Him who sent me, hath life age-during, and to judgment he doth not come, but hath passed out of the death to the life.
25 'Verily, verily, I say to you — There cometh an hour, and it now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and those having heard shall live;
26 for, as the Father hath life in himself, so He gave also to the Son to have life in himself,
