John 4:3-6 in English

³ he left Judæa, and departed again into Galilee.

⁴ And he must needs pass through Samaria.

⁵ So he cometh to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph:

⁶ and Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

³ He left Judea, and went back towards Galilee.

⁴ He had to go through Samaria.

⁵ He came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph,

⁶ and Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being tired from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

³ He left Judæa, and departed again into Galilee.

³ When the Lord Jesus heard about that, so that the Pharisees would not cause trouble for him, he left Judea district, and went again with us disciples to Galilee district.

⁴ He knew that God wanted him to travel through Samaria district.

⁵ So we arrived at a town named Sychar in Samaria district. That was near the plot of ground that our ancestor Jacob had given to his son Joseph long ago.

⁶ The well that used to belong to Jacob was on that plot of ground. Jesus was tired from walking. So while we disciples went into the town to buy some food, he sat down alongside the well. It was about noontime. A woman who lived there in Samaria came to get some water from the well. Jesus said to her, “Will you give me from the well some water to drink?” The woman knew that Jews did not like ◄ to touch things that belong to Samaritans/ to come near Samaritans►, (OR, Jews did not like to associate with Samaritans,)

⁵ So he came to a town of Samaria which was named Sychar, near to the bit of land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph:

⁶ Now Jacob's fountain was there. Jesus, being tired after his journey, was resting by the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.

³ he left Judaea and went away again unto Galilee.

⁴ And he must needs pass through Samaria.

⁵ He comes therefore to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near to the land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

⁶ Now a fountain of Jacob's was there; Jesus therefore, being wearied with the way he had come, sat just as he was at the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.

³ He left Judea, and went again into Galilee.

⁴ And he was of necessity to pass through Samaria.

⁵ He cometh therefore to a city of Samaria, which is called Sichar, near the land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

⁶ Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well. It was about the sixth hour.

³ He left Judea and went away into Galilee.

⁴ But He needed to pass through Samaria.

⁵ Therefore He came to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near the piece of land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

⁶ Now Jacob's well was there. Therefore Jesus, having become tired from the journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.

³ He left Judea and went away into Galilee.

⁴ Now He needed to go through Samaria;

⁵ so He comes to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

⁶ Now Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, being worn out from the journey, sat as He was by the well. It was about 6 p.m.

³ he left Judea and returned to Galilee.

⁴ On the way he had to pass through Samaria.

⁵ So he came to the Samaritan city of Sychar, near to the field that Jacob had given his son Joseph.

⁶ Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, who was tired from the journey, sat straight down beside the well. It was around noon.

³ Hee left Iudea, and departed againe into Galile.

⁴ And he must needes goe through Samaria.

⁵ Then came hee to a citie of Samaria called Sychar, neere vnto the possession that Iacob gaue to his sonne Ioseph.

⁶ And there was Iacobs well. Iesus then wearied in the iourney, sate thus on the well: it was about the sixt houre.

³ he left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.

⁴ And he must needs go through Samaria.

⁵ and, on his way, he came to a Samaritan town called Shechem, near the plot of land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

⁴ He needed to pass through Samaria Watch-mountain.

⁵ So he came to a city of Samaria Watch-mountain, called Sychar Shoulder, near the parcel of ground that Jacob Supplanter gave to his son, Joseph May he add.

⁶ Jacob Supplanter’s well was there. Yeshua Salvation therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.

³ he lefte Iewry and departed agayne into Galile.

⁴ And it was so that he must nedes goo thorowe Samaria.

⁵ Then came he to a cyte of Samaria called Sichar besydes the possession that Iacob gave to his sonne Ioseph.

⁶ And there was Iacobs well. Iesus then weryed in his iorney sate thus on the well. And it was about the sixte houre:

⁵ Therefore Jesus came into a city of Samaria, that is called Sychar, beside the place or the field that Jacob gave to Joseph, his son.

⁶ And the well of Jacob was there; and Jesus was weary of the journey, and sat thus upon the well. And the hour was, as it were the sixth. (And Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus was weary from the journey, and sat down by the well. And it was about noon.)

³ and wente ayen in to Galilee.

⁴ And it bihofte hym to passe bi Samarie.

⁵ Therfor Jhesus cam in to a citee of Samarie, that is seid Sicar, bisidis the place, that Jacob yaf to Joseph, his sone.

⁶ And the welle of Jacob was there; and Jhesus was weri of the iourney, and sat thus vpon the welle. And the our was, as it were the sixte.

³ he left Judea and went away again to Galilee,

⁴ and it was behoving him to go through Samaria.

⁵ He cometh, therefore, to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near to the place that Jacob gave to Joseph his son;

⁶ and there was there a well of Jacob. Jesus therefore having been weary from the journeying, was sitting thus on the well; it was as it were the sixth hour;
