John 2:18-25 in American Standard Version (1901)

18 The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he spake this; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, many believed on his name, beholding his signs which he did.
24 But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,
25 and because he needed not that any one should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.

John 2:18-25 in God's Living Word

18 So the Jews answered and asked Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”
19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”
21 But the temple He had spoken of was His body.
22 After He was raised from the dead, His disciples recalled what He had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
23 Now while He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs He was doing and believed in His name.
24 But Jesus didn’t commit Himself to them, because He knew all people,
25 and had no need for anyone to testify about people, for He knew what was in people.

John 2:18-25 in King James (Authorized) Version

21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

John 2:18-25 in Translation for Translators

18 So one of the Jewish leaders SYN replied to him, “What miracle will you perform to show us that you have authority from God to do these things?”
19 Jesus replied to them, “If/When you destroy this temple, I will build it again within three days.”
20 So the Jewish leaders SYN said, “We have been building this Temple for forty-six years and it is not finished yet! So ◄there is no way you will build it within three days!/how will you build it within three days?► RHQ”
21 But when Jesus said that about the temple, he was really talking about his own body.
22 Later, after Jesus had died and had become alive again, we his disciples remembered the words he had said. As a result, we believed what had been prophesied in the Scriptures about the Messiah becoming alive again, and we believed that what Jesus said was true.
23 While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many people came to believe that he was the Messiah because they saw the miracles he was performing.
24 But he did not let them tell him what he should do as the Messiah, because he knew within himself what they were all thinking.
25 He did not need anyone to tell him what others were thinking, because he already knew what they were thinking and wanting.

John 2:18-25 in Bible in Basic English

18 Then the Jews put this question to him: What sign of authority have you to give us, seeing that you do these things?
19 And Jesus said to them, Send destruction on this Temple and I will put it up again in three days.
20 The Jews said, The building of this Temple took forty-six years; and you will put it up in three days!
21 But his words were about that holy building which was his body.
22 So when he had come back again from the dead, the memory of these words came back to the disciples, and they had faith in the holy Writings and in the word which Jesus had said.
23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the feast of the Passover, a great number of people came to have faith in his name, after seeing the signs which he did.
24 But Jesus did not have faith in them, because he had knowledge of them all.
25 He had no need for any witness about man; for he himself had knowledge of what was in man.
