John 19:4-8 in English

⁴ And Pilate went out again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him out to you, that ye may know that I find no crime in him.

⁵ Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold, the man!

⁶ When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him! Pilate saith unto them, Take him yourselves, and crucify him: for I find no crime in him.

⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

⁸ When Pilate therefore heard this saying, he was the more afraid;

⁴ Pilate then went out again, and told the Jews, “Look, I’m bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against Him.”

⁵ Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, and Pilate said to them, “Look! Here is the man!”

⁶ When the chief priests and officers saw Him, they shouted “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate told them, “You take Him and crucify Him, because I find no basis for a charge against Him.”

⁷ The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He claimed to be God’s Son.”

⁸ When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid,

⁴ Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

⁵ Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

⁴ Once more Pilate came outside and said to the crowd, “Look! I am bringing him out to you so that you may know that I do not find that he has done anything for which we should punish him anymore.”

⁵ When Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Look at this wretched man!”

⁶ When the chief priests and Temple guards saw him, they shouted, “Command your soldiers to kill him by nailing him to a cross! Crucify him!” Pilate, knowing that they could not legally do it themselves, said to them, “You yourselves take him and nail him to a cross! As for me, I do not find that he has done anything for which we should punish him.”

⁷ The Jewish leaders SYN replied, “ Our ancestor Moses gave us the law that says we must kill anyone who claims to be God. This man claims that he is ◄the Son of/the man who is also► God, so you must have him killed { command your soldiers to kill him}.”

⁸ When Pilate heard that, he was more afraid of what would happen to himself if he commanded the soldiers to kill Jesus.

⁴ Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

⁵ Then Jesus came out with the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, Here is the man!

⁶ So when the chief priests and the police saw him they gave a loud cry, To the cross! to the cross! Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and put him on the cross: I see no crime in him.

⁷ And the Jews made answer, We have a law, and by that law it is right for him to be put to death because he said he was the Son of God.

⁸ When this saying came to Pilate's ears his fear became greater;

⁴ And Pilate went out again and says to them, Lo, I bring him out to you, that ye may know that I find in him no fault whatever.

⁵ (Jesus therefore went forth without, wearing the crown of thorn, and the purple robe.) And he says to them, Behold the man!

⁶ When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him they cried out saying, Crucify, crucify him. Pilate says to them, Take him ye and crucify him, for I find no fault in him.

⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law, and according to our law he ought to die, because he made himself Son of God.

⁸ When Pilate therefore heard this word, he was the rather afraid,

⁴ Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith to them: Behold, I bring him forth unto you, that you may know that I find no cause in him.

⁵ (Jesus therefore came forth, bearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment.) And he saith to them: Behold the Man.

⁶ When the chief priests, therefore, and the servants, had seen him, they cried out, saying: Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith to them: Take him you, and crucify him: for I find no cause in him.

⁷ The Jews answered him: We have a law; and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

⁸ When Pilate therefore had heard this saying, he feared the more.

⁴ Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, so that you may know that I find no fault in Him.”

⁵ Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, “Behold, the Man!”

⁶ Therefore, when the chief priests and the attendants saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”

⁷ The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.”

⁸ Therefore, when Pilate heard this saying, he was even more afraid,

⁴ Pilate then went out again and says to them, “Look, I am bringing him out to you so that you may know that I find no crime in him at all.”

⁵ Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe; and Pilate says to them, “Look at the man!”

⁶ Well when the chief priests and the operatives saw Him they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify him!” Pilate says to them, “You take and crucify him, because I find no crime in him.”

⁷ The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our law he ought to die, because he made himself ‘Son of God’!”

⁸ Hey, when Pilate heard this statement he was more afraid than ever!

⁴ Pilate went outside once more and said to them, “I'm bringing him out here to you so you'll know I find him not guilty of any crime.”

⁵ Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. “Look, here's the man,” said Pilate.

⁶ When the chief priests and the guards saw Jesus, they shouted out, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” “You take him and crucify him,” Pilate answered. “I find him not guilty.”

⁷ The Jewish leaders replied, “We have a law, and according to that law he must die because he claimed to be the Son of God.”

⁸ When Pilate heard this he was more afraid than ever,

⁴ Then Pilate went foorth againe, and said vnto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may knowe, that I finde no fault in him at all.

⁵ Then came Iesus foorth wearing a crowne of thornes, and a purple garment. And Pilate said vnto them, Beholde the man.

⁶ Then when the hie Priests and officers sawe him, they cried, saying, Crucifie, crucifie him. Pilate said vnto them, Take yee him and crucifie him: for I finde no fault in him.

⁷ The Iewes answered him, We haue a lawe, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himselfe the Sonne of God.

⁸ When Pilate then heard that woorde, he was the more afraide,

⁴ Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

⁴ Then Pilate Armed with javelin went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

⁵ Yeshua Salvation therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate Armed with javelin said to them, “Behold, the man!”

⁶ When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate Armed with javelin said to them, “Take him yourselves, and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”

⁷ The Jews answered him, “We have a law (of God), and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Ben-Elohim ·Son of Elohim God·.”

⁸ When therefore Pilate Armed with javelin heard this saying, he was more afraid.

⁴ Pylate went forthe agayne and sayde vnto them: beholde I bringe him forth to you that ye maye knowe that I fynde no faute in him.

⁵ Then came Iesus forthe wearynge a croune of thorne and a robe of purple. And Pylate sayd vnto them: beholde the man.

⁶ When the hye Prestes and ministres sawe him they cryed sayinge: crucify him crucify him. Pylate sayde vnto them. Take ye him and crucify him: for I fynde no cause in him.

⁷ The Iewes answered him. We have a lawe and by oure lawe he ought to dye: because he made him selfe the sonne of God.

⁸ When Pylate hearde that sayinge he was the moare afrayde

⁴ Then Pilate went outside again and said to them, “See, I am bringing him outside to you so that you will know that I find no guilt in him.”

⁴ Again Pilate went out, and said to them, Lo! I bring him out to you, that ye know, that I find no cause (or crime worthy of death) in him. (And Pilate went out again, and said to them, Behold! I bring him back out to you now, so that ye know, that I find no case against him.)

⁵ And so Jesus went out, bearing a crown of thorns, and a cloth of purple (or and a cloak of purple). And he saith to them, Lo! the man.

⁶ But when the bishops and ministers had seen him, they cried, and said, Crucify, crucify him. Pilate saith to them, Take ye him, and crucify ye him, for I find no cause (or crime worthy of death) in him. (But when the high priests, and their servants, or their officers, had seen him, they cried, and said, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate said to them, You take him, and you crucify him, for I find no case against him.)

⁷ The Jews answered to him, We have a law, and by the law he oweth to die (or and by that law he ought to die), for he made him(self) God’s Son.

⁸ Therefore when Pilate had heard this word, he dreaded the more, or he dreaded more, (or he was more fearful, or he was even more afraid).

⁴ Eftsoone Pilat wente out, and seide to hem, Lo! Y brynge hym out to you, that ye knowe, that Y fynde no cause in him.

⁵ And so Jhesus wente out, berynge a coroun of thornes, and a cloth of purpur. And he seith to hem, Lo! the man.

⁶ But whanne the bischopis and mynystris hadden seyn hym, thei crieden, and seiden, Crucifie, crucifie hym. Pilat seith to hem, Take ye hym, and crucifie ye, for Y fynde no cause in hym.

⁷ The Jewis answeriden to hym. We han a lawe, and bi the lawe he owith to die, for he made hym Goddis sone.

⁸ Therfor whanne Pilat hadde herd this word, he dredde the more.

⁴ Pilate, therefore, again went forth without, and saith to them, 'Lo, I do bring him to you without, that ye may know that in him I find no fault;'

⁵ Jesus, therefore, came forth without, bearing the thorny crown and the purple garment; and he saith to them, 'Lo, the man!'

⁶ When, therefore, the chief priests and the officers did see him, they cried out, saying, 'Crucify, crucify;' Pilate saith to them, 'Take ye him — ye, and crucify; for I find no fault in him;'

⁷ the Jews answered him, 'We have a law, and according to our law he ought to die, for he made himself Son of God.'

⁸ When, therefore, Pilate heard this word, he was the more afraid,
