John 17:7-18 in English

⁷ Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee:

⁸ for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them, and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me.

⁹ I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:

¹⁰ and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.

¹¹ And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are.

¹² While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

¹³ But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.

¹⁴ I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.

¹⁶ They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁷ Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth.

¹⁸ As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world.

⁷ Now they know that everything You’ve given me comes from You,

⁸ for I have spoken to them the words You’ve given me. They have received Your words, and have come to know for certain that I came forth from You. They have believed that You sent me.

⁹ It is for them I pray. I’m not praying for the world, but for those who You’ve given me, because they belong to You.

¹⁰ All of mine are Yours, and Yours are mine. I am glorified in them.

¹¹ Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world. I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those who You’ve given me, that they may be one just as we are one.

¹² I kept them in Your name while I was with them in the world. I have kept the people You gave me; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

¹³ Now I am coming to You, and I speak these things in the world, so that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

¹⁴ I have given them Your word. The world has hated them because they don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.

¹⁵ I don’t pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.

¹⁶ They don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.

¹⁷ Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

¹⁸ As You sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

⁷ Now they know that everything you have given me, your message and your work, comes from you.

⁸ I gave them the message that you gave me, and they have accepted it. They now know for certain that I came from you. They now believe that you sent me.

⁹ I am praying for them. I am not praying for those who do not belong to you MTY. Instead, I am praying for those whom you have brought to me, because they belong to you.

¹⁰ All the disciples that I have belong to you, and all those who belong to you also belong to me. They have shown how great I am.

¹¹ I will not be staying in the world any longer. I will be coming back to you. They, however, will be here in the world among those who are opposed to you. My Holy Father, protect them from spiritual harm by your power MTY, the power that you gave me, in order that they may be united as we are united.

¹² While I have been with them, I have completely protected them by the power MTY that you gave me. As a result, only one of them will be eternally separated from you. He is the one who was doomed to be eternally separated from you. That has happened to fulfill what a prophet wrote in the Scriptures would happen.

¹³ Father, now I am about to return to you. I have said these things while I am still here in the world in order that my disciples may fully experience being joyful, as I have been joyful.

¹⁴ I have given them your message. As a result, those who are opposed to you MTY have hated them, because my disciples do not belong to those who oppose you MTY, just like I do not belong to those who oppose you MTY.

¹⁵ I am asking you, not that you take them out of this world, but instead that you protect them from Satan, the evil one.

¹⁶ They do not belong to those who are opposed to you MTY, just like I also do not belong to them.

¹⁷ Set my disciples apart so that they may ◄completely belong to/serve► you, by enabling them to live in accordance with what is true. Your message is true.

¹⁸ Just like you sent me here into this world, now I surely will be sending them to other places in MTY the world.

⁷ Now they have known that all things whatever you have given me are from you,

⁸ for the words which you have given me I have given to them; and they received them, and knew for sure that I came from you. They have believed that you sent me.

⁷ Now it is clear to them that whatever you have given to me comes from you:

⁸ Because I have given them the words which you gave to me; and they have taken them to heart, and have certain knowledge that I came from you, and they have faith that you sent me.

⁹ My prayer is for them: my prayer is not for the world, but for those whom you have given to me, because they are yours

¹⁰ (All mine are yours, and yours are mine) and I have glory in them.

¹¹ And now I will be no longer in the world, but they are in the world and I come to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name which you have given to me, so that they may be one even as we are one.

¹² While I was with them I kept them safe in your name which you have given to me: I took care of them and not one of them has come to destruction, but only the son of destruction, so that the Writings might come true.

¹³ And now I come to you; and these things I say in the world so that they may have my joy complete in them.

¹⁴ I have given your word to them; and they are hated by the world, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ My prayer is not that you will take them out of the world, but that you will keep them from the Evil One.

¹⁶ They are not of the world any more than I am of the world.

¹⁷ Make them holy by the true word: your word is the true word.

¹⁸ Even as you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

⁷ Now they have known that all things that thou hast given me are of thee;

⁸ for the words which thou hast given me I have given them, and they have received them, and have known truly that I came out from thee, and have believed that thou sentest me.

⁹ I demand concerning them; I do not demand concerning the world, but concerning those whom thou hast given me, for they are thine,

¹⁰ (and all that is mine is thine, and all that is thine mine,) and I am glorified in them.

¹¹ And I am no longer in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one as we.

¹² When I was with them I kept them in thy name; those thou hast given me I have guarded, and not one of them has perished, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.

¹³ And now I come to thee. And these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in them.

¹⁴ I have given them thy word, and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ I do not demand that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them out of evil.

¹¹ I am leaving the world, but they will remain in the world; I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name, the name that you gave to me, so that they may be one, just as we are one.

¹² While I was with them, I protected them in your name that you gave to me. I watched over them so that no one was lost except the ‘son of the lost,’ so Scripture was fulfilled.

¹³ Now I'm coming to you, and I say these things while I am still here in the world so they may share completely in my joy.

¹⁰ And al mine are thine, and thine are mine, and I am glorified in them.

¹¹ And nowe am I no more in the world, but these are in the worlde, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keepe them in thy Name, euen them whome thou hast giuen mee, that they may bee one, as we are.

¹² While I was with them in the worlde, I kept them in thy Name: those that thou gauest me, haue I kept, and none of them is lost, but the childe of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

¹³ And now come I to thee, and these things speake I in the worlde, that they might haue my ioy fulfilled in themselues.

¹⁴ I haue giuen them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou keepe them from euill.

¹⁶ They are not of the worlde, as I am not of the world.

⁸ for I have given them the teaching which you gave me, and they received it, and clearly understood that I came from you, and they believed that you has sent me as your messenger.

⁹ I intercede for them; I am not interceding for the world, but for those whom you has given me, for they are your own —

¹⁰ All that is mine is yours, and all that is yours is mine — and I am honoured in them.

¹¹ Now I am to be in this world no longer, but they are still to be in the world, and I am to come to you. Holy Father, keep them by that revelation of your name which you has given me, so that they may be one, as we are.

¹² Whilst I was with them, I kept them by that revelation, and I have guarded them; and not one of them has been lost, except that lost soul — in fulfilment of scripture.

¹³ But now I am to come to you; and I am speaking like this, while still in the world, so that they may have my own joy, in all its fullness, in their hearts.

¹⁴ I have given them your message; and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world, even as I do not belong to the world.

¹⁵ I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but to keep them from evil.

¹⁶ They do not belong to the world, even as I do not belong to the world.

¹⁷ Consecrate them by the truth; your message is truth.

¹⁸ Just as you has sent me as your messenger to the world, so I send them as my messengers to the world.

¹¹ Now I am to be in this world no longer, but they are still to be in the world, and I am to come to you. Holy Father, keep them by that revelation of your name which you has given me, so that they may be one, as we are.

¹¹ And now am I no moare in the worlde but they are in the worlde and I come to the. Wholy father kepe in thyne awne name the which thou hast geven me that they maye be one as we are.

¹² Whyll I was with the in the worlde I kepte the in thy name. Those that thou gavest me have I kepte and none of the is lost but that lost chylde that the scripture myght be fulfilled.

¹³ Now come I to the and these wordes speake I in the worlde that they myght have my ioye full in them.

¹⁴ I have geven them thy wordes and the worlde hath hated them because they are not of the worlde even as I am not of the worlde.

¹⁵ I desyre not that thou shuldest take the out of the worlde: but that thou kepe them from evyll.

¹⁶ They are not of the worlde as I am not of the worlde.

¹¹ I am no longer in the world, but these people are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me so that they will be one, just as we are one.

¹² While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I protected them, and not one of them was destroyed, except for the son of destruction, so that the scriptures would be fulfilled.

¹³ Now I am coming to you, but I am saying these things in the world so that they will have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

¹⁴ I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ I do not ask for you to take them away from the world, but for you to keep them from the evil one.

¹⁶ They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

¹⁷ Set them apart by the truth. Your word is truth.

¹⁸ Just as you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

⁷ Now they have known that all things whatever you have given me are from you,

⁸ for the words which you have given me I have given to them; and they received them, and knew for sure that I came from you. They have believed that you sent me.

⁹ Y preie for hem, Y preye not for the world, but for hem that thou hast youun to me, for thei ben thine.

¹⁰ And alle my thingis ben thine, and thi thingis ben myne; and Y am clarified in hem.

¹¹ And now Y am not in the world, and these ben in the world, and Y come to thee. Hooli fadir, kepe hem in thi name, whiche thou yauest to me, that thei ben oon, as we ben.

¹² While Y was with hem, Y kepte hem in thi name; thilke that thou yauest to me, Y kepte, and noon of hem perischide, but the sone of perdicioun, that the scripture be fulfillid.

¹³ But now Y come to thee, and Y speke these thingis in the world, that thei haue my ioie fulfillid in hem silf.

¹⁴ Y yaf to hem thi word, and the world hadde hem in hate; for thei ben not of the world, as Y am not of the world.

¹⁵ Y preye not, that thou take hem awei fro the world, but that thou kepe hem fro yuel.

¹⁶ They ben not of the world, as Y am not of the world.

¹⁷ Halewe thou hem in treuth; thi word is treuthe.

¹⁸ As thou sentist me in to the world, also Y sente hem `in to the world.

⁷ now they have known that all things, as many as Thou hast given to me, are from Thee,

⁸ because the sayings that Thou hast given to me, I have given to them, and they themselves received, and have known truly, that from Thee I came forth, and they did believe that Thou didst send me.

⁹ 'I ask in regard to them; not in regard to the world do I ask, but in regard to those whom Thou hast given to me, because Thine they are,

¹⁰ and all mine are Thine, and Thine are mine, and I have been glorified in them;

¹¹ and no more am I in the world, and these are in the world, and I come unto Thee. Holy Father, keep them in Thy name, whom Thou hast given to me, that they may be one as we;

¹² when I was with them in the world, I was keeping them in Thy name; those whom Thou hast given to me I did guard, and none of them was destroyed, except the son of the destruction, that the Writing may be fulfilled.

¹³ 'And now unto Thee I come, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves;

¹⁴ I have given to them Thy word, and the world did hate them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world;

¹⁵ I do not ask that Thou mayest take them out of the world, but that Thou mayest keep them out of the evil.
