Colossians 2:6-8 in English

⁶ As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him,

⁷ rooted and builded up in him, and established in your faith, even as ye were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

⁸ Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:

⁶ As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

⁷ Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

⁸ Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

⁶ In a way that is ◄consistent/in harmony► with the message that you received about Christ Jesus, who is our Lord, conduct yourselves as you should, since you have a close relationship with him.

⁷ Specifically, continue believing and practicing MET, DOU what you were first taught about Christ. Continue to do this more and more; continue to fIrmly believe all the true teaching, just like Epaphras taught it to you. And continue thanking God, our Father, very much for all that he has done for you.

⁸ Make sure that no one forces you (pl) to become his disciples MET by his teaching you a religious philosophy/doctrine that is worthless and false. Such a philosophy is false because it teaches what mere human beings think, because it teaches people elementary regulations/rules that are concerned merely with what is external/physical, and because it teaches what is contrary to the true teaching about Christ.

⁶ As, then, you took Christ Jesus the Lord, so go on in him,

⁷ Rooted and based together in him, strong in the faith which the teaching gave you, giving praise to God at all times.

⁸ Take care that no one takes you away by force, through man's wisdom and deceit, going after the beliefs of men and the theories of the world, and not after Christ:

⁶ As therefore ye have received the Christ, Jesus the Lord, walk in him,

⁷ rooted and built up in him, and assured in the faith, even as ye have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

⁸ See that there be no one who shall lead you away as a prey through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the teaching of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.

⁶ As therefore you have received Jesus Christ the Lord, walk ye in him;

⁷ Rooted and built up in him, and confirmed in the faith, as also you have learned, abounding in him in thanksgiving.

⁸ Beware lest any man cheat you by philosophy, and vain deceit; according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ:

⁶ Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

⁷ having been rooted and built up in Him and being established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

⁸ See that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

⁶ So then, keep on walking in the Christ, Jesus the Sovereign, just as you received Him,

⁷ having been rooted and being built up in Him and being established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

⁸ Be careful that no one captures you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ.

⁶ Just as you accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, go on following him,

⁷ grounded in him and built up by him. May your trust in him continue to grow strong, following what you were taught, full of gratitude to God.

⁸ Watch out that nobody enslaves you through their philosophy and worthless delusions, following human traditions and concepts of this world, and not following Christ.

⁷ rooted in him, building up your characters through union with him, growing stronger through your faith, as you were taught, overflowing with faith and thanksgiving.

⁸ Take care there is not someone who will carry you away by his ‘philosophy’ — a hollow sham! — following, as it does, mere human traditions, and dealing with puerile questions of this world, and not with Christ.

⁶ Since, therefore, you have received Jesus, the Christ, as your Lord, live your lives in union with him —

⁷ rooted in him, building up your characters through union with him, growing stronger through your faith, as you were taught, overflowing with faith and thanksgiving.

⁸ Take care there is not someone who will carry you away by his ‘philosophy’ — a hollow sham! — following, as it does, mere human traditions, and dealing with puerile questions of this world, and not with Christ.

⁶ You believe in Jesus Christ now, and you let him be your boss, so you have to keep living his way.

⁷ Keep on believing that message about Jesus Christ, and keep on getting to know him better all the time. Keep on strongly believing the things that we taught you. And always thank God very much for everything.

⁸ Some people might try to make you believe some ideas about God that are wrong. Those ideas didn’t come from Jesus Christ, but they came from the people of this world. A long time ago the bad spirits in this world gave them these ideas, and they taught them to their kids and grand-kids. But they are not true. They might sound good, but they are tricky lies. Be careful. Don’t believe them.

⁶ As ye have therfore receaved Christ Iesu the Lorde even so walke

⁷ roted and bylt in him and stedfaste in the fayth as ye have learned: and therin be plenteous in gevynge thankes.

⁸ Beware lest eny man come and spoyle you thorow philosophy and disceatfull vanitie, thorow the tradicions of me and ordinaunces after the worlde and not after christ.

⁶ As you received Christ the Lord, walk in him.

⁷ Be rooted in him, be built on him, be established in faith just as you were taught, and abound in thanksgiving.

⁸ See that no one captures you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, conforming to the elements of the world, and not conforming to Christ.

⁸ See ye that no man deceive you by philosophy and vain fallacy, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ.

⁶ Therefore as ye have taken Jesus Christ our Lord, walk ye in him, (And so as ye have received Jesus Christ our Lord, now walk in him, or now live in him,)

⁷ and be ye rooted and builded above in him, (that is, in Christ, or the Messiah), and confirmed in the belief, as ye have learned, abounding in him in (the) doing of thankings, (or and abounding in thanksgiving, or in the giving of thanks, to him).

⁸ See ye that no man deceive you by philosophy and vain, (or empty and futile), fallacy, after the tradition(s) of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ.

⁶ as, then, ye did receive Christ Jesus the Lord, in him walk ye,

⁷ being rooted and built up in him, and confirmed in the faith, as ye were taught — abounding in it in thanksgiving.

⁸ See that no one shall be carrying you away as spoil through the philosophy and vain deceit, according to the deliverance of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not according to Christ,
