³⁸ And as Lydda was nigh unto Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men unto him, entreating him, Delay not to come on unto us.

³⁹ And Peter arose and went with them. And when he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

⁴⁰ But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning to the body, he said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹ And he gave her his hand, and raised her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

³⁸ And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

³⁹ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

⁴⁰ But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹ And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

⁴¹ And he gave her his hand, and raised her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

³⁸ Lydda was near Joppa, so when the believers heard that Peter was still in Lydda, they sent two men to go to Peter. When they arrived where Peter was, they repeatedly urged/begged him, “Please come immediately with us to Joppa!”

³⁹ So right away Peter got ready and went with them. When they arrived at the house in Joppa, the two men took Peter to the upstairs room where Dorcas' body was lying. All the widows therecrowded around Peter. They were crying and showing him the cloaks and other garments that Dorcas had made for people while she was still alive.

⁴⁰ But Peter sent them all out of the room. Then he got down on his knees and prayed. Then, turning toward Tabitha's body, he said, “Tabitha, stand up!” Immediately she opened her eyes and, when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹ He grasped one of her hands and helped her to stand up. After he had summoned the believers and especially the widows among them to come back in, he showed them that Tabitha was alive again.

³⁸ As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.

³⁹ Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the tunics and other garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

⁴⁰ Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹ He gave her his hand and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

³⁹ And Peter went with them. And when he had come, they took him into the room: and all the widows were there, weeping and putting before him the coats and clothing which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

⁴⁰ But Peter made them all go outside, and went down on his knees in prayer; and turning to the body, he said, Tabitha, get up. And, opening her eyes, she saw Peter and got up.

⁴¹ And he took her hand, lifting her up; and, sending for the saints and widows, he gave her to them, living.

³⁸ But Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, beseeching him, Thou must not delay coming to us.

³⁹ And Peter rising up went with them, whom, when arrived, they brought up into the upper chamber; and all the widows stood by him weeping and shewing him the body-coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

⁴⁰ But Peter, putting them all out, and kneeling down, prayed. And, turning to the body, he said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes, and, seeing Peter, sat up.

⁴¹ And having given her his hand, he raised her up, and having called the saints and the widows, presented her living.

³⁸ And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppe, the disciples hearing that Peter was there, sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not be slack to come unto them.

³⁹ And Peter rising up, went with them. And when he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber. And all the widows stood about him weeping, and shewing him the coats and garments which Dorcas made them.

⁴⁰ And they all being put forth, Peter kneeling down prayed, and turning to the body, he said: Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and seeing Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹ And giving her his hand, he lifted her up. And when he had called the saints and the widows, he presented her alive.

³⁸ Now since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was in Joppa, sent to him, urging him not to delay in coming to them.

³⁹ And arising, Peter went with them. When he arrived, they took him into the upper room, and all the widows stood beside him weeping, showing him tunics and cloaks which Dorcas was making, while she was with them.

⁴⁰ But Peter, having put them all outside, knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹ And giving to her his hand, he raised her up; and when he called the saints and the widows, he presented her alive.

³⁸ Lydda was near Joppa, so the disciples in Joppa, hearing that Peter was in Lydda, sent two men to him with the message, “Please come to us right away.”

³⁹ So Peter got ready and left with them. When he arrived they took him upstairs. All the widows were there crying, and they showed him the coats and clothes that Dorcas had made while she was with them.

⁴⁰ Peter told them all to leave, kneeled down, and prayed. He turned to the body and said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

⁴¹ He took her by the hand and lifted her up. He called in the believers and the widows, and presented her to them alive.

³⁸ Now forasmuch as Lydda was neere to Ioppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent vnto him two men, desiring that he would not delay to come vnto them.

³⁹ Then Peter arose and came with them: and when hee was come, they brought him into the vpper chamber, where all the widowes stoode by him weeping, and shewing the coates and garments, which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

⁴⁰ But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled downe, and prayed, and turned him to the body, and sayd, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes, and when she sawe Peter, sate vp.

⁴¹ Then he gaue her the hand and lift her vp, and called the Saints and widowes, and restored her aliue.

³⁸ Jaffa was near Lydda, and the disciples, having heard that Peter was at Lydda, sent two men with the request that he come to them without delay.

³⁹ Peter returned with them at once. On his arrival, he was taken upstairs, and all the widows came around him in tears, showing the coats and other clothing which Dorcas had made while she was amongst them.

⁴⁰ But Peter sent everybody out of the room, and knelt down and prayed. Then, turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha! Stand up.” She opened her eyes, and, seeing Peter, sat up.

⁴¹ Giving her his hand, Peter raised her up, and, calling in the widows and others of Christ's people, presented her to them alive.

³⁹ Peter returned with them at once. On his arrival, he was taken upstairs, and all the widows came around him in tears, showing the coats and other clothing which Dorcas had made while she was among them.

⁴⁰ But Peter sent everybody out of the room, and knelt down and prayed. Then, turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha! Stand up.” She opened her eyes, and, seeing Peter, sat up.

⁴¹ Giving her his hand, Peter raised her up, and, calling in the widows and others of Christ's people, presented her to them alive.

³⁸ Joppa was near Lydda, and the people in Joppa that followed Jesus heard that Peter was in Lydda. So they sent 2 men to Lydda and they asked him, “Please come to Joppa with us right now.”

³⁹ So Peter went with those 2 men. After he got there the Christians took him to the house and then they all went upstairs. They stood there with Peter, and the widows cried and showed him the shirts and other clothes that Dorcas made for them while she was still alive.

⁴⁰ Peter told everyone to go outside. Then he got down on his knees, to show respect to God, and he prayed, then he turned and looked at the body, and said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, then she saw Peter and sat up.

⁴¹ Peter held out his hand for her and helped her to stand up. Then he called God’s people and the widows to come, and he showed them that Tabitha was alive.

³⁸ Because Lydda was nye to Ioppa and the disciples had hearde that Peter was there they sent vnto hym desyrynge him that he wolde not be greved to come vnto them.

³⁹ Peter arose and came with them and when he was come they brought him in to the chamber. And all the wydowes stode roude aboute hym wepynge and shewynge the cotes and garmentes which Dorcas made whill she was with them.

⁴⁰ And Peter put the all forth and kneled doune and prayde and turned him to the body and sayde: Tabitha aryse. And she opened her eyes and when she sawe Peter she sat vp.

⁴¹ And he gave her the honde and lyft her up and called the sainctes and wydowes and shewed her alyve.

³⁸ Since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, begging him, “Come to us without delay.”

³⁹ Peter arose and went with them. When he had arrived, they brought him to the upper room, and all the widows stood by him weeping, showing him the coats and garments that Dorcas had made while she had been with them.

⁴⁰ Peter put them all out of the room, knelt down, and prayed; then, turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, arise.” Then she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.

⁴⁰ And when all men were put with-outforth, Peter kneeled, and prayed. And he turned to the body, and said, Tabitha, arise thou. And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹ And he took her by the hand, and raised her. And when he had called the holy men and widows, he assigned her alive.

³⁸ And for Lydda was nigh Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was therein, and sent two men to him, and prayed (or beseeched), That thou tarry not to come to us.

³⁹ And Peter rose up, and came with them. And when he was come, they led him into the solar (or into the upper room). And all the widows stood about him, weeping, and showing coats and clothes, which Dorcas made to them (or which Dorcas had made for them).

⁴⁰ And when all men were put withoutforth (or And after everyone was sent out of the room), Peter kneeled, and prayed. And he turned to the body, and said, Tabitha, arise thou. And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁴¹ And he took her by the hand, and raised her (up). And when he had called the holy men and widows, he assigned her alive.

³⁸ and Lydda being nigh to Joppa, the disciples having heard that Peter is in that place, sent two men unto him, calling on him not to delay to come through unto them.

³⁹ And Peter having risen, went with them, whom having come, they brought into the upper chamber, and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing coats and garments, as many as Dorcas was making while she was with them.

⁴⁰ And Peter having put them all forth without, having bowed the knees, did pray, and having turned unto the body said, 'Tabitha, arise;' and she opened her eyes, and having seen Peter, she sat up,

⁴¹ and having given her his hand, he lifted her up, and having called the saints and the widows, he presented her alive,
