⁷ For from many of those that had unclean spirits, they came out, crying with a loud voice: and many that were palsied, and that were lame, were healed.

⁸ And there was much joy in that city.

⁹ But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who beforetime in the city used sorcery, and amazed the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

¹⁰ to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is that power of God which is called Great.

¹¹ And they gave heed to him, because that of long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.

¹² But when they believed Philip preaching good tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

⁷ For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

⁸ And there was great joy in that city.

⁹ But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

¹⁰ To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

¹¹ And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

¹² But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

⁷ For example, when Philip commanded evil spirits who controlled many people that they should come out of them, they came out, while those spirits screamed. Also, many people who were paralyzed and many others who were lame were healed.

⁸ So many people MTY in that city greatly rejoiced.

⁹ There was a man in that city whose name was Simon. He had been practicing sorcery for a long time, and he had been amazing the people in Samaria province by doing that. He continually claimed that he was a great/important person.

¹⁰ All the people there, both ordinary and important people, listened to him. Various ones of them were saying, “This man works in extremely powerful ways because God has caused him to be a great person.”

¹¹ They continued to listen to him carefully, because for a long time he had astonished them by practicing sorcery.

¹² But then they believed Philip's message when he preached to them about how God desires to rule MET the lives of people who believe in him, and about Jesus being the Messiah MTY. Both the men and the women who believed in Jesus were baptized. { Philip was baptizing both the men and the women who had come to believe in Jesus}.

⁷ For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.

⁸ There was great joy in that city.

⁹ But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who used to practice sorcery in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, making himself out to be some great one,

¹⁰ to whom they all listened, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is that great power of God.”

¹¹ They listened to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.

¹² But when they believed Philip preaching good news concerning God’s Kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

⁸ And there was much joy in that town.

⁹ But there was a certain man named Simon, who in the past had been a wonder-worker and a cause of surprise to the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was a great man:

¹⁰ To whom they all gave attention, from the smallest to the greatest, saying, This man is that power of God which is named Great.

¹¹ And they gave attention to him, because for a long time his wonder-working powers had kept them under his control.

¹² But when they had faith in the good news given by Philip about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, a number of men and women had baptism.

⁷ For from many who had unclean spirits they went out, crying with a loud voice; and many that were paralysed and lame were healed.

⁸ And there was great joy in that city.

⁹ But a certain man, by name Simon, had been before in the city, using magic arts, and astonishing the nation of Samaria, saying that himself was some great one.

¹⁰ To whom they had all given heed, from small to great, saying, This is the power of God which is called great.

¹¹ And they gave heed to him, because that for a long time he had astonished them by his magic arts.

¹² But when they believed Philip announcing the glad tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptised, both men and women.

⁷ For many of them who had unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, went out.

⁸ And many, taken with the palsy, and that were lame, were healed.

⁹ There was therefore great joy in that city. Now there was a certain man named Simon, who before had been a magician in that city, seducing the people of Samaria, giving out that he was some great one:

¹⁰ To whom they all gave ear, from the least to the greatest, saying: This man is the power of God, which is called great.

¹¹ And they were attentive to him, because, for a long time, he had bewitched them with his magical practices.

¹² But when they had believed Philip preaching of the kingdom of God, in the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

⁷ For many of those having unclean spirits had cried out with a loud voice, and the spirits came out; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.

⁸ And there was great joy in that city.

⁹ Now a certain man named Simon was previously in the city practicing magic and astounding the people of Samaria, claiming himself to be someone great,

¹⁰ to whom they gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.”

¹¹ But they gave heed to him because of the long time that he had astonished them with the magic arts.

¹² But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

⁷ Because unclean spirits came out screaming from many who had them, and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.

⁸ Yes, there was great joy in that city!

⁹ Now a certain man named Simon was in the city first, practicing sorcery and astounding the people of Samaria, affirming himself to be someone great,

¹⁰ to whom they used to pay attention, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.”

¹¹ They listened to him because he had amazed them with his sorceries for a long time.

¹² But, when they believed Philip, as he proclaimed the good news concerning the Kingdom of God and the name, Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

⁷ Many were freed from possession by evil spirits that screamed as they came out, and many who were lame or disabled were healed.

⁸ The people who lived in the city were overjoyed.

⁹ Now there was a man named Simon who lived in the city. He practiced sorcery. He claimed that he was someone very important, and had astounded the people of Samaria

¹⁰ so they all paid attention to him. From the lowest to the highest in society they said, “This man is ‘God the Great Power.’”

¹¹ They were impressed by him because he had amazed them with his magic for so long.

¹² But when they believed in what Philip told them about the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

⁷ For vncleane spirits crying with a loud voyce, came out of many that were possessed of them: and many taken with palsies, and that halted, were healed.

⁸ And there was great ioy in that citie.

⁹ And there was before in the citie a certaine man called Simon, which vsed witchcraft, and bewitched the people of Samaria, saying that he himselfe was some great man.

¹⁰ To whome they gaue heede from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is that great power of God.

¹¹ And they gaue heed vnto him, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

¹² But assoone as they beleeued Philip, which preached the thinges that concerned the kingdome of God, and the Name of Iesus Christ, they were baptized both men and women.

⁷ For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

⁸ And there was great joy in that city.

¹² But when they believed Philip, publishing the glad tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

⁸ and many who were paralysed or lame were cured, so that there was great rejoicing throughout that city.

¹⁰ Everyone, high and low, paid attention to him. ‘This man,’ they used to say, ‘must be that power of God which people call “The Great Power.”’

⁷ You see, a lot of people had bad spirits in them, and Philip used God’s power to throw those bad spirits out of them. Those bad spirits screamed as they left those people. Philip also used God’s power to make a lot of crippled and weak people better.

⁸ The people in that town were very happy.

⁹ A man called Simon lived in that place, Samaria. He used to do magic tricks. He did these things for a long time before Philip went there. Everyone was surprised by the things he did. He used to say, “I am a great man,”

¹⁰ and the people looked at him and said, “This man is really great. He has God’s power.” The important people said that, as well as the other people.

¹¹ Simon did this for a long time, and everyone there used to listen to him.

¹² But then Philip came and told them the good news about Jesus, and about God’s family, and he told them that God sent Jesus Christ to save people. A lot of men and women listened to Philip and believed in Jesus, and then Philip baptised them.

⁹ And ther was a certayne man called Simon which before tyme in the same cite vsed witche crafte and bewitched the people of Samarie sayinge that he was a man that coulde do greate thinges

¹⁰ Whom they regarded from the lest to the greatest sayinge: this felow is the great power of God.

¹¹ And him they set moche by because of longe tyme with sorcery he had mocked them.

¹² But assone as they beleved Philippes preachynge of the kyngdome of God and of the name of Iesu Christ they were baptised bothe men and wemen.

¹⁰ To Whom all harkened, from the least to the most, and said, This is the virtue of God, which is called great.

¹¹ And they believed him, for long time he had madded them with his witchcrafts, or for this thing, that much time he had made them mad with his witchings.

¹² But when they had believed to Philip, preaching or evangelizing of the kingdom of God, men and women were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

⁷ For many of them that had unclean spirits, cried with (a) great voice, and (they) went out. And many sick in the palsy, and crooked (or and lame), were healed.

⁸ Therefore great joy was made in that city.

⁹ But there was a man in that city, whose name was Simon, a witch, that had deceived the folk of Samaria (or who had deceived the Samaritan people), saying, that himself was some great man.

¹⁰ To Whom all harkened, from the least to the most, and said, This is the virtue (or the power) of God, which is called great.

¹¹ And they believed him, for (a) long time he had madded them (or he had astonished them) with his witchcrafts. Forsooth they beheld him, for this thing, that much time he had made them mad with his witchings.

¹² But when they had believed to Philip, preaching of the kingdom of God, men and women were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Soothly when they had believed to Philip, evangelizing of the kingdom of God, in the name of Jesus Christ, men and women were baptized.

⁷ for unclean spirits came forth from many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice, and many who have been paralytic and lame were healed,

⁸ and there was great joy in that city.

⁹ And a certain man, by name Simon, was before in the city using magic, and amazing the nation of Samaria, saying himself to be a certain great one,

¹⁰ to whom they were all giving heed, from small unto great, saying, 'This one is the great power of God;'

¹¹ and they were giving heed to him, because of his having for a long time amazed them with deeds of magic.

¹² And when they believed Philip, proclaiming good news, the things concerning the reign of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized both men and women;
