¹² But when they believed Philip preaching good tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹³ And Simon also himself believed: and being baptized, he continued with Philip; and beholding signs and great miracles wrought, he was amazed.

¹⁴ Now when the apostles that were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

¹⁵ who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit:

¹⁶ for as yet it was fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,

¹⁹ saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay my hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ But Peter said unto him, Thy silver perish with thee, because thou hast thought to obtain the gift of God with money.

²¹ Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God.

²² Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee.

²³ For I see that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.

²¹ Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

²² Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

¹² But then they believed Philip's message when he preached to them about how God desires to rule MET the lives of people who believe in him, and about Jesus being the Messiah MTY. Both the men and the women who believed in Jesus were baptized. { Philip was baptizing both the men and the women who had come to believe in Jesus}.

¹³ Simon himself believed Philip's message and, after he was baptized {after Philip baptized him}, he began to constantly accompany Philip. Simon was continually amazed because he often saw Philip doing many kinds of miraculous things.

¹⁴ When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that many people PRS throughout Samaria district had believed the message from God about Jesus, they sent Peter and John there.

¹⁵ When Peter and John arrived in Samaria, they prayed for those new believers in order that the Holy Spirit's power would come to them.

¹⁶ Peter and John realized that the Holy Spirit had not yet begun to empower any of them. They had been baptized { Philip had baptized them} because they had believed in MTY the Lord Jesus, but they did not know about the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ Then Peter and John placed their hands on the heads of each person, and they received the power of MTY the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ Simon saw things that convinced him that God had given the Spirit's power to people as a result of the apostles placing their hands on them. So he offered to give money to the apostles,

¹⁹ saying, “Enable me also to do what you are doing, so that everyone on whom I place/put my hands may receive the Holy Spirit's power.”

²⁰ But Peter said to him, “May you (sg) and your money go to hell, because you mistakenly think that you can buy from us what God alone gives to people

²¹ God has not authorized you to have any part of this ministry of giving the Holy Spirit's power, because he knows that you are not thinking rightly! (OR, because he knows that you are thinking completely wrongly.)

²² So stop thinking wickedly like that, and plead that the Lord, if he is willing, will forgive you for what you wickedly thought/planned to do

²³ Turn away from your evil ways, because I perceive that you (sg) are extremely envious of us, and you are a slave of your continual desire to do evil! God will certainly punish you severely!”

¹² But when they had faith in the good news given by Philip about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, a number of men and women had baptism.

¹³ And Simon himself had faith and, having had baptism, he went with Philip and, seeing the signs and the great wonders which he did, he was full of surprise.

¹⁴ Now when the Apostles at Jerusalem had news that the people of Samaria had taken the word of God into their hearts, they sent to them Peter and John;

¹⁵ Who, when they came there, made prayer for them, that the Holy Spirit might be given to them:

¹⁶ For up to that time he had not come on any of them; only baptism had been given to them in the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ Then they put their hands on them, and the Holy Spirit came on them.

¹⁸ Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the touch of the Apostles' hands, he made them an offering of money, saying,

¹⁹ Give me this power, so that when I put my hands on anyone he may get the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ But Peter said, May your money come to destruction with you, because you had the idea that what is freely given by God may be got for a price.

²¹ You have no part in this business, because your heart is not right before God.

²² Let your heart be changed, and make prayer to God that you may have forgiveness for your evil thoughts.

²³ For I see that you are prisoned in bitter envy and the chains of sin.

¹² But when they believed Philip announcing the glad tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptised, both men and women.

¹³ And Simon also himself believed; and, having been baptised, continued constantly with Philip; and, beholding the signs and great works of power which took place, was astonished.

¹⁴ And the apostles who were in Jerusalem, having heard that Samaria had received the word of God, sent to them Peter and John;

¹⁵ who, having come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit;

¹⁶ for he was not yet fallen upon any of them, only they were baptised to the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ Then they laid their hands upon them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ But Simon, having seen that by the laying on of the hands of the apostles the Holy Spirit was given, offered them money,

¹⁹ saying, Give to me also this power, in order that on whomsoever I may lay hands he may receive the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ And Peter said to him, Thy money go with thee to destruction, because thou hast thought that the gift of God can be obtained by money.

²¹ Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter, for thy heart is not upright before God.

²² Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and supplicate the Lord, if indeed the thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee;

²³ for I see thee to be in the gall of bitterness, and bond of unrighteousness.

¹² But when they had believed Philip preaching of the kingdom of God, in the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹³ Then Simon himself believed also; and being baptized, he adhered to Philip. And being astonished, wondered to see the signs and exceeding great miracles which were done.

¹⁴ Now when the apostles, who were in Jerusalem, had heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John.

¹⁵ Who, when they were come, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost.

¹⁶ For he was not as yet come upon any of them; but they were only baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ Then they laid their hands upon them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

¹⁸ And when Simon saw, that by the imposition of the hands of the apostles, the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

¹⁹ Saying: Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I shall lay my hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said to him:

²⁰ Keep thy money to thyself, to perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

²¹ Thou hast no part nor lot in this matter. For thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

²² Do penance therefore for this thy wickedness; and pray to God, that perhaps this thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee.

²³ For I see thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bonds of iniquity.

¹² But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹³ Then Simon himself also believed; and having been baptized, he was continuing with Philip, and observing miracles and signs occurring, he was astounded.

¹⁴ Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John,

¹⁵ who, coming down, prayed concerning them in order that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ For He had not yet fallen upon any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of Christ Jesus.

¹⁷ Then they laid hands upon them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ Now when Simon observed that by the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,

¹⁹ saying, “Give me this power also, that on whom ever I lay my hands he may receive the Holy Spirit.”

²⁰ But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought to acquire the gift of God with money!

²¹ You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.

²² Repent therefore from this your wickedness, and make petition to God, if perhaps the intent of your heart will be forgiven you.

²³ For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and the bond of unrighteousness.”

¹² But, when they believed Philip, as he proclaimed the good news concerning the Kingdom of God and the name, Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹³ Even Simon himself believed, and having been baptized he stayed right with Philip; observing miracles and signs occurring, he was amazed.

¹⁴ Now when the Apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,

¹⁵ who upon coming down prayed about them, so that they might receive Holy Spirit,

¹⁶ because He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized into the name of Jesus, the Christ.

¹⁷ Then they laid their hands upon them and they received Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ Well, upon observing that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the Apostles' hands, Simon offered them money

¹⁹ saying, “Give this power to me also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive Holy Spirit.”

²⁰ But Peter said to him: “May your silver go with you into perdition, for thinking that the gift of God could be acquired with money!

²¹ You have neither part nor portion in this matter, because your heart is not right before God.

²² Turn away therefore from this your wickedness and make petition to God, in case the intent of your heart may be forgiven you;

²³ for I see you being into a gall of bitterness and a fetter of unrighteousness.”

¹² But when they believed in what Philip told them about the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹³ Simon too believed and was baptized. He accompanied Philip, amazed at the miraculous signs and wonders he saw.

¹⁴ When the apostles back in Jerusalem heard that the people of Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to visit them.

¹⁵ When they arrived they prayed for the converts in Samaria to receive the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ The Holy Spirit hadn't come to any of these converts yet—they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ The apostles placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ When Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given when the apostles placed their hands on people, he offered them money.

¹⁹ “Give me this power, too,” he asked them, “so that anyone I place my hands on will receive the Holy Spirit.”

²⁰ “May your money be destroyed together with you for thinking God's gift is something that can be bought!” Peter replied.

²¹ “You're not part of any of this. None of this work belongs to you, because in God's eyes your attitude is totally wrong.

²² Repent of your evil ways! Pray to the Lord and ask forgiveness for thinking like this.

²³ I can see that you are full of bitter envy, and chained down by your sin.”

¹² But assoone as they beleeued Philip, which preached the thinges that concerned the kingdome of God, and the Name of Iesus Christ, they were baptized both men and women.

¹³ Then Simon himselfe beleeued also and was baptized, and continued with Philippe, and wondred, when he sawe the signes and great miracles which were done.

¹⁴ Nowe when the Apostles, which were at Hierusalem, heard say, that Samaria had receiued the worde of God, they sent vnto them Peter and Iohn.

¹⁵ Which whe they were come downe, prayed for them, that they might receiue the holy Ghost.

¹⁶ (For as yet, hee was fallen downe on none of them, but they were baptized onely in the Name of the Lord Iesus.)

¹⁷ Then layd they their handes on them, and they receiued the holy Ghost.

¹⁸ And when Simon sawe, that through laying on of the Apostles hands the holy Ghost was giuen, he offred them money,

¹⁹ Saying, Giue mee also this power, that on whomsoeuer I lay the handes, he may receiue the holy Ghost.

²⁰ Then saide Peter vnto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou thinkest that the gift of God may be obteined with money.

²¹ Thou hast neither part nor fellowship in this businesse: for thine heart is not right in the sight of God.

²² Repent therefore of this thy wickednes, and pray God, that if it be possible, the thought of thine heart may be forgiuen thee.

²³ For I see that thou art in the gall of bitternes, and in the bonde of iniquitie.

¹⁴ And the apostles at Jerusalem, hearing that Samaria had received the word of God, sent to them Peter and John;

¹⁵ who, having come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ For it had not yet fallen upon any of them; but they had only been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ But Simon, seeing that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, offered them money,

¹⁹ saying, Give me also this power, that on whomever I lay my hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ But Peter said to him, Thy money perish with thee! because thou didst think to obtain the gift of God with money.

²¹ Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter; for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

²³ For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

¹² However, when they came to believe Philip, as he told them the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptised, both men and women.

¹³ Even Simon believed, and after his baptism attached himself to Philip, and was in his turn mystified at seeing signs and great miracles constantly occurring.

¹⁴ When the apostles at Jerusalem heard that the Samaritans had welcomed God's message, they sent Peter and John to them;

¹⁵ and they, on their arrival, prayed that the Samaritans might receive the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ (As yet the Spirit had not descended on any of them; they had only been baptised into the faith of the Lord Jesus).

¹⁷ Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ When Simon saw that it was through the placing of the apostles' hands on them that the Spirit was given, he brought them a sum of money and said,

¹⁹ “Give me also this power of yours, so that, if I place my hands on anyone, he may receive the Holy Spirit.”

²⁰ “A curse on you and on your money,” Peter exclaimed, “for thinking that God's free gift can be bought with gold!

²¹ You have no share or part in our message, for your heart is not right with God.

²² Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord, that, if possible, you may be forgiven for such a thought;

²³ for I see that you have fallen into the bitterness of envy and the fetters of sin.”

¹² However, when they came to believe Philip, as he told them the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹³ Even Simon believed, and after his baptism attached himself to Philip, and was in his turn mystified at seeing signs and great miracles constantly occurring.

¹⁴ When the apostles at Jerusalem heard that the Samaritans had welcomed God's message, they sent Peter and John to them;

¹⁵ and they, on their arrival, prayed that the Samaritans might receive the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ (As yet the Spirit had not descended on any of them; they had only been baptized into the faith of the Lord Jesus).

¹⁷ Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ When Simon saw that it was through the placing of the apostles' hands on them that the Spirit was given, he brought them a sum of money and said,

¹⁹ “Give me also this power of yours, so that, if I place my hands on anyone, he may receive the Holy Spirit.”

²⁰ “A curse on you and on your money,” Peter exclaimed, “for thinking that God's free gift can be bought with gold!

²¹ You have no share or part in our message, for your heart is not right with God.

²² Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord, that, if possible, you may be forgiven for such a thought;

²³ for I see that you have fallen into the bitterness of envy and the fetters of sin.”

¹² But then Philip came and told them the good news about Jesus, and about God’s family, and he told them that God sent Jesus Christ to save people. A lot of men and women listened to Philip and believed in Jesus, and then Philip baptised them.

¹³ Simon believed in Jesus too, so Philip baptised him. After that Simon followed Philip everywhere and watched him doing powerful things. Simon was very surprised by those powerful things that Philip did.

¹⁴ But at that time the Holy Spirit didn’t go into any of those Samaria people. Philip only baptised the people to show they belonged to Jesus. Then the close followers of Jesus in Jerusalem heard that the people in Samaria believed God’s word, so they sent Peter and John to Samaria. After those 2 men got there, they put their hands on the people that believed in Jesus, and prayed for them. Then the Holy Spirit came into those people.

¹⁸ Simon watched Peter and John. He saw them put their hands on people, and he saw the Holy Spirit go into those people. So Simon said to Peter, “Let me have that power too. I will pay you money if you give me that power, so that if I put my hands on people the Holy Spirit will go into them.”

²⁰ But Peter said to him, “You think you can buy God’s power with money, but you are wrong. No way. God can see that you are not thinking the right way. You are just thinking about money. If you are like that you can’t be with us. Look out, God can finish you up, and finish up your money too.

²² Stop thinking in that really bad way. Turn around and think God’s way. Pray to him and ask him to not punish you for thinking like that.

²³ I can see that you are jealous, and you want to do bad things, and those bad things are controlling you.”

¹² But assone as they beleved Philippes preachynge of the kyngdome of God and of the name of Iesu Christ they were baptised bothe men and wemen.

¹³ Then Simon him selfe beleved also and was baptised and cotinued with Phillip and wondered beholdynge the miracles and signes which were shewed.

¹⁴ When the Apostles which were at Ierusalem hearde saye that Samaria had receaved the worde of God: they sent vnto them Peter and Iohn

¹⁵ which when they were come prayed for the that they myght receave the holy goost

¹⁶ For as yet he was come on none of them: But they were baptised only in the name of Christ Iesu.

¹⁷ Then layde they their hondes on them and they receaved the holy goost.

¹⁸ When Simon sawe that thorowe layinge on of the Apostles hondes on them the holy goost was geven: he offered the money sayinge:

¹⁹ Geve me also this power that on whom soever I put the hondes he maye receave the holy goost.

²⁰ Then sayde Peter vnto him: thy monye perysh with the because thou wenest that the gifte of God maye be obteyned with money.

²¹ Thou hast nether parte nor felloushippe in this busines. For thy hert is not ryght in the syght of God.

²² Repent therfore of this thy wickednes and praye God that the thought of thyne hert maye be forgeven the.

²³ For I perceave that thou arte full of bitter gall and wrapped in iniquite.

¹² But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹³ Even Simon himself believed, and after he was baptized he stayed with Philip constantly. When he saw signs and mighty deeds taking place, he was amazed.

¹⁴ Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John.

¹⁵ When they had come down, they prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ For until that time, the Holy Spirit had not come upon any of them; they had only been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money.

¹⁹ He said, “Give me this power, too, that whoever I place my hands on might receive the Holy Spirit.”

²⁰ But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish along with you, because you thought to obtain the gift of God with money.

²¹ You have no part or share in this matter, because your heart is not right with God.

²² Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord, so that he might perhaps forgive you for the intention of your heart.

²³ For I see that you are in the poison of bitterness and in the bonds of sin.”

¹⁴ But when the apostles that were at Jerusalem, had heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John.

¹⁵ And when they came, they prayed for them, that they should receive the Holy Ghost;

¹⁶ for he came not yet into any of them, but they were baptized only in the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

¹⁸ And when Simon had seen, that the Holy Ghost was given by laying on of the hands of the apostles, and he proffered or offered to them money,

¹⁹ and said, Give ye also to me this power, that whomever I shall lay on mine hands or that on whomever I shall put on hands, that he receive the Holy Ghost.

²⁰ But Peter said to him, Thy money be with thee into perdition, for thou guessedest that the gift of God should be had for money or for thou guessedest the gift of God to be had, or wielded, by money.

²¹ There is no part, nor lot to thee, in this word, for thine heart is not rightful before God.

²² Therefore do thou penance for this wickedness of thee, and pray God, if peradventure this thought of thine heart be forgiven to thee.

²³ For I see that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of wickedness.

¹² But when they had believed to Philip, preaching of the kingdom of God, men and women were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Soothly when they had believed to Philip, evangelizing of the kingdom of God, in the name of Jesus Christ, men and women were baptized.

¹³ And then also Simon himself believed; and when he was baptized, he drew (himself) (un)to Philip; and he saw also that signs and great virtues were done, he was astonied, and wondered, (or and when he saw that miracles and great works of power were done, he was astonished, and wondered).

¹⁴ But when the apostles that were at Jerusalem, had heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John.

¹⁵ And when they came (there), they prayed for them, that they should receive the Holy Ghost (or so that they would receive the Holy Spirit);

¹⁶ for he came not yet into any of them or forsooth not yet he came into any of them, but they were baptized only in the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ Then they laid (their) hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost (or and they received the Holy Spirit).

¹⁸ And when Simon had seen, that the Holy Ghost was given by (the) laying on of the hands of the apostles, and he proffered or he offered to them money, (And when Simon had seen, that the Holy Spirit was given by the laying on of the hands of the apostles, then he offered them money,)

¹⁹ and said, Give ye also to me this power, that whomever I shall lay on mine hands or that on whomever I shall put on hands, that he receive the Holy Ghost. (and said, Give also to me this power, so that whomever I shall lay my hands on, he shall receive the Holy Spirit.)

¹⁴ And the apostles in Jerusalem having heard that Samaria hath received the word of God, did send unto them Peter and John,

¹⁵ who having come down did pray concerning them, that they may receive the Holy Spirit, —

¹⁶ for as yet he was fallen upon none of them, and only they have been baptized — to the name of the Lord Jesus;

¹⁷ then were they laying hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ And Simon, having beheld that through the laying on of the hands of the apostles, the Holy Spirit is given, brought before them money,

¹⁹ saying, 'Give also to me this authority, that on whomsoever I may lay the hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.'

²⁰ And Peter said unto him, 'Thy silver with thee — may it be to destruction! because the gift of God thou didst think to possess through money;

²¹ thou hast neither part nor lot in this thing, for thy heart is not right before God;

²² reform, therefore, from this thy wickedness, and beseech God, if then the purpose of thy heart may be forgiven thee,

²³ for in the gall of bitterness, and bond of unrighteousness, I perceive thee being.'
