³ And they laid hands on them, and put them in ward unto the morrow: for it was now eventide.

⁴ But many of them that heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

⁵ And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;

⁶ and Annas the high priest was there, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest.

⁷ And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, By what power, or in what name, have ye done this?

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders,

⁹ if we this day are examined concerning a good deed done to an impotent man, by what means this man is made whole;

¹⁰ be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth this man stand here before you whole.

¹¹ He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.

¹² And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.

⁷ And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

⁹ If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

¹⁰ Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

¹¹ This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

¹² Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

¹¹ He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.

¹² And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.

³ So those officials seized Peter and John. Then they put them in jail. They had to wait until the next day to question Peter and John, because it was already evening and it was contrary to their Jewish law to question people at night.

⁴ However, many people who had heard the message from Peter believed in Jesus. (OR, But many people had already believed in Jesus, because they had heard the message from Peter.) So the number of men who believed in Jesus increased to about five thousand.

⁵ The next day the supreme priest summoned the other chief priests, the teachers of the Jewish laws, and the other members of the Jewish Council, and they gathered together in one place in Jerusalem.

⁶ Annas, the former supreme priest, Caiaphas who was the new supreme priest, two other former supreme priests whose names were John and Alexander, and other men who were related to the supreme priest were there.

⁷ They commanded guards to bring Peter and John into the courtroom MTY and have them stand in front of them. Then one of the leaders questioned the two of them, saying, “Who do you two claim gave you the power to heal this man? And who authorized MTY you to do this DOU?”

⁸ So as the Holy Spirit completely controlled Peter, he said to them, “You fellow Israelites who rule us and all of you other elders, listen!

⁹ Today you are questioning us concerning our doing something good for a man who was crippled, and you asked us how he was healed.

¹⁰ So we(exc) want you and all of our other fellow Israelites to know this: It is because Jesus the Messiah MTY from Nazareth healed this man that he is able to stand here. God considers that it was you who nailed Jesus to a cross, but God caused him to become alive again.

¹¹ In the Psalms this was written about the Messiah: He is like MET the stone that was rejected by the builders {that the builders rejected}. But that stone became the most important stone in the building that they were building. Jesus is that stone, and you are those builders who threw away the stone that was the most important one.

¹² So he alone can save us MTY. God has sent only one person MTY into the world who can save us from the guilt of our sins, and that person is Jesus!”

⁴ But a number of those who gave hearing to the word had faith; and they were now about five thousand.

⁵ And on the day after, the rulers and those in authority and the scribes came together in Jerusalem;

⁶ And Annas, the high priest, was there, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all the relations of the high priest.

⁷ Then sending for Peter and John, they said, By what power and in whose name have you done this?

⁸ Then Peter, being full of the Holy Spirit, said to them, O you rulers of the people and men of authority,

⁹ If we are questioned today about a good work done to a man who was ill, as to how he has been made well,

¹⁰ Take note, all of you, and all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you put to death on the cross, whom God gave back from the dead, even through him is this man now before you completely well.

¹¹ He is the stone which you builders had no use for, but which has been made the chief stone of the building.

¹² And in no other is there salvation: for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, through which we may have salvation.

⁷ and having placed them in the midst they inquired, In what power or in what name have ye done this?

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people and elders of Israel,

⁹ if we this day are called upon to answer as to the good deed done to the infirm man, how he has been healed,

¹⁰ be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, whom ye have crucified, whom God has raised from among the dead, by him this man stands here before you sound in body.

¹¹ He is the stone which has been set at nought by you the builders, which is become the corner stone.

¹² And salvation is in none other, for neither is there another name under heaven which is given among men by which we must be saved.

³ And they laid hands upon them, and put them in hold till the next day; for it was now evening.

⁴ But many of them who had heard the word, believed; and the number of the men was made five thousand.

⁵ And it came to pass on the morrow, that their princes, and ancients, and scribes, were gathered together in Jerusalem;

⁶ And Annas the high priest, and Caiphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest.

⁷ And setting them in the midst, they asked: By what power, or by what name, have you done this?

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them: Ye princes of the people, and ancients, hear:

⁹ If we this day are examined concerning the good deed done to the infirm man, by what means he hath been made whole:

¹⁰ Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, even by him this man standeth here before you whole.

¹¹ This is the stone which was rejected by you the builders, which is become the head of the corner.

¹² Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.

³ And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.

⁶ as well as Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of high priestly descent.

⁷ And they brought them forward and began to inquire, “By what power or by what name have you done this?”

⁸ Then Peter, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel:

⁹ If we today are being judged for a good work to a weak man, by what means he has been made well,

¹⁰ let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by this name this man stands here before you whole.

¹¹ This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you, the builders, which became the chief cornerstone.’

¹² Nor is there salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven which has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

³ And they laid hands on them and put them in custody until the next day, because it was already evening.

⁴ (However, many of those who heard the message believed; the number of the men came to be about five thousand.)

⁵ So the next day an assembly of their rulers, both elders and scribes, occurred in Jerusalem,

⁶ along with Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, John and Alexander, and as many as were of high-priestly descent.

⁷ And having placed them in the middle of the assembly they started questioning: “By what power, or by what name did you do this?”

⁸ Then Peter, full of Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel:

⁹ If we are being examined today about a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well,

¹⁰ be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Natsorean, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.

¹¹ This is ‘the stone which was despised by you, the builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’

¹² Also, the salvation does not exist in anyone else, because there is no other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved.”

³ They arrested them and placed them under guard until the following day since it was already evening.

⁴ But many who had heard the message believed it, and the total number of believers grew to about five thousand.

⁵ The next day, the rulers, elders, and religious leaders met together in Jerusalem.

⁶ They included the high priest Annas, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and others of the high priest's family.

⁷ They brought Peter and John before them and asked, “By what power or by whose authority have you done this?”

⁸ Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, answered them. “Rulers of the people, and elders:

⁹ Are we being interrogated regarding a good deed done to a man who couldn't help himself, and how he came to be healed?

¹⁰ If so, all of you should know, and all the people of Israel, that it was in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the one you killed on a cross and whom God raised from the dead—it's because of him that this man stands before you completely healed.

¹¹ ‘He is the stone you builders rejected, but he has been made the chief cornerstone.’

¹² There is no salvation in anyone else; there is no other name under heaven given to humanity that can possibly save us.”

³ And they layde handes on them, and put them in holde, vntill the next day: for it was now euentide.

⁴ Howbeit, many of them which heard the word, beleeued, and the number of the men was about fiue thousand.

⁵ And it came to passe on the morow, that their rulers, and Elders, and Scribes, were gathered together at Hierusalem,

⁶ And Annas the chiefe Priest, and Caiaphas, and Iohn, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the hie Priestes.

⁷ And whe they had set them before them, they asked, By what power, or in what Name haue ye done this?

⁸ Then Peter ful of the holy Ghost, said vnto them, Ye rulers of the people, and Elders of Israel,

⁹ For as much as we this day are examined of the good deede done to the impotent man, to wit, by what meanes he is made whole,

¹⁰ Be it knowen vnto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye haue crucified, whome God raised againe from the dead, euen by him doth this man stand here before you, whole.

¹¹ This is the stone cast aside of you builders which is become the head of the corner.

¹² Neither is there saluation in any other: for among men there is giuen none other Name vnder heauen, whereby we must be saued.

¹¹ This is the stone which was set at nought by you the builders, which is become a cornerstone.

¹² And there is salvation in no other; for there is not another name under heaven, that hath been given among men, by which we must be saved.

³ They arrested the apostles and, as it was already evening, had them placed in custody until the next day.

⁴ Many, however, of those who had heard the apostles' message became believers in Christ, the number of the men alone amounting to about five thousand.

⁵ The next day, a meeting of the leaders of the people, the elders, and the teachers of the Law was held in Jerusalem.

⁶ There were present Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and all who were of High-Priestly rank.

⁷ They had Peter and John brought before them, and questioned them. “By what power,” they asked, “Or in whose name have men like you done this thing?”

⁸ Then, Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said, “Leaders of the people and elders,

⁹ since we are on our trial today for a kind act done to a helpless man, and are asked in what way the man here before you has been cured,

¹⁰ let me tell you all and all the people of Israel, that it is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead — it is, I say, by his name that this man stands here before you lame no longer.

¹¹ Jesus is ‘the stone which, scorned by you the builders, has yet become the corner stone.’

¹² And salvation is in him alone; for there is no other name in the whole world, given to people, to which we must look for our salvation.”

³ They arrested the apostles and, as it was already evening, had them placed in custody until the next day.

⁴ Many, however, of those who had heard the apostles' message became believers in Christ, the number of the men alone amounting to about five thousand.

⁵ The next day, a meeting of the leaders of the people, the elders, and the teachers of the Law was held in Jerusalem.

⁶ There were present Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and all who were of High-Priestly rank.

⁷ They had Peter and John brought before them, and questioned them. “By what power,” they asked, “Or in whose name have men like you done this thing?”

⁸ Then, Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said, “Leaders of the people and elders,

⁹ since we are on our trial today for a kind act done to a helpless man, and are asked in what way the man here before you has been cured,

¹⁰ let me tell you all and all the people of Israel, that it is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead — it is, I say, by his name that this man stands here before you lame no longer.

¹¹ Jesus is ‘the stone which, scorned by you the builders, has yet become the corner stone.’

¹² And salvation is in him alone; for there is no other name in the whole world, given to people, to which we must look for our salvation.”

³ So they grabbed Peter and John. Those boss men wanted to take them to court, but it was already late in the afternoon, so the soldiers locked up Peter and John in jail to wait until the next day.

⁴ But already a lot of the people listened to Peter and John, and they believed everything those 2 men said, and they started to follow Jesus. More and more people started to follow Jesus until there were about 5,000 men following him at that time.

⁵ The next day all the Jewish leaders met together for a court in the city called Jerusalem. They were the Jewish bosses, and the leaders of the Jewish ceremonies, and the men that taught about Jewish law.

⁶ The big boss of all the Jewish ceremonies, called Annas, was there. Some of his family were there, the men called Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and some other men too.

⁷ That boss mob got Peter and John to stand there in the middle of them, and they said, “This man couldn’t walk. He was crippled. What power did you use to make this man better? And who told you to do that?”

⁸ The Holy Spirit was in Peter and told him what to say. He said, “Listen, all you leaders and bosses.

⁹ You are asking us now about the good thing we did for this crippled man. You are asking us about the way we made him better.

¹⁰ We used the power of Jesus Christ to make this man better. We want you, and all our Israel countrymen, to know about Jesus, the man from Nazareth. You nailed him to a cross and killed him, but God made him alive again.

¹¹ You know, a long time ago one of God’s men told a picture story about you boss mob, and about Jesus. He wrote this in God’s book, ‘You boss builders reckoned that a stone was rubbish, so you threw it away. But now that stone is the most important one of all.’

¹² You see, Jesus is the only one that can save people. God didn’t send anyone else to save us. Jesus is the only one in the world that has power to save people.”

³ And they layde hondes on them and put them in holde vntill the nexte daye: for it was now even tyde.

⁴ How be it many of them which hearde the wordes beleved and the noumbre of the men was aboute fyve thousande.

⁵ And it chaunsed on the morowe that their rulars and elders and Scribes

⁶ as Annas the chefe Prest and Cayphas and Iohn and Alexander and as many as were of the kynred of the hye prestes gadered to geder at Ierusalem

⁷ and set the other before them and axed: by what power or what name have ye done this syrs?

⁸ Then Peter full of the holy goost sayd vnto them: ye rulars of the people and elders of Israel

⁹ yf we this daye are examined of the good dede done to the sycke man by what meanes he is made whoale:

¹⁰ be that knowen vnto you all and to the people of Israel that in the name of Iesus Christ of Nazareth whom ye crucified and whom God raysed agayne from deeth: even by him doth this man stonde here present before you whoale.

¹¹ This is the stone cast a syde of you bylders which is set in the chefe place of the corner.

¹² Nether is ther salvacion in eny other. Nor yet also is ther eny other name geven to men wherin we must be saved.

¹² There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given amongst men, by which we must be saved!”

³ And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody to the next day: for it was now evening.

⁴ But many of them who heard the word, believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

⁵ And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,

⁶ And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were assembled at Jerusalem.

⁷ And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name have ye done this?

⁸ Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

⁹ If we this day are examined concerning the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made sound.

¹⁰ Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you sound.

¹¹ This is the stone which was set at naught by you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

¹⁰ may it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands here before you whole in him.

¹¹ He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’

⁷ And they set them in the middle, and asked, In what virtue, either in what name, have ye done this thing?

⁸ Then Peter filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them, Ye princes of the people, and ye elder men, hear ye.

⁹ If we today be deemed in the good deed of a sick man, in whom or in which this man is made safe,

¹⁰ be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from death, in this or in him this man standeth whole before you.

¹¹ This is the stone, which was reproved of you building, which is made into the head of the corner;

¹² and health is not in any other. For neither other name under heaven is given to men, in which it behooveth us to be made safe.

³ And they laid (their) hands on them, and putted them into (the) ward or into (the) keeping into the morrow (or and put them in the prison until the morning); for it was then eventide.

⁵ And amorrow it was done or Forsooth in the morrow it was done, that the princes of them, and elder men and scribes were gathered in Jerusalem; (And the next morning it was done, that their high priests, and elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;)

⁶ and Annas, (the) prince of priests, (or and Annas, the former High Priest), and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and how many ever were of the kind or of the kindred of priests.

⁹ If we today be deemed in the good deed of a sick man, in whom or in which this man is made safe, (If today we be judged for this good deed for a sick man, by which this man is saved,)

¹⁰ be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from death or whom God raised from (the) dead, in this (man) or in him, this man standeth whole before you.

¹¹ This is the stone, which was reproved of (or rejected by) you (when) building, which is made into the head of the corner;

¹² and health is not in any other. For neither (any) other name under heaven is given to men, in which it behooveth us to be made safe. (and salvation, or deliverance, is not by any other. For no other name under heaven is given to men, by which it behooveth us to be saved.)

³ and they laid hands upon them, and did put them in custody unto the morrow, for it was evening already;

⁴ and many of those hearing the word did believe, and the number of the men became, as it were, five thousand.

⁵ And it came to pass upon the morrow, there were gathered together of them the rulers, and elders, and scribes, to Jerusalem,

⁶ and Annas the chief priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the chief priest,

⁷ and having set them in the midst, they were inquiring, 'In what power, or in what name did ye do this?'

⁸ Then Peter, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them: 'Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

⁹ if we to-day are examined concerning the good deed to the ailing man, by whom he hath been saved,

¹⁰ be it known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye did crucify, whom God did raise out of the dead, in him hath this one stood by before you whole.

¹¹ 'This is the stone that was set at nought by you — the builders, that became head of a corner;

¹² and there is not salvation in any other, for there is no other name under the heaven that hath been given among men, in which it behoveth us to be saved.'
