¹² And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this man? or why fasten ye your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

¹⁴ But ye denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you,

¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

¹² And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

¹⁴ But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

¹⁵ And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

¹² And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this man? or why fasten ye your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

¹⁴ But ye denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you,

¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

¹² When Peter saw that, he said to the crowd, “Fellow Israelites, ◄you should not be surprised about what has happened to this man!/why are you so surprised about what has happened to this man?► RHQ And you should not stare at us, either! You seem to RHQ think that the two of us enabled this man to walk because we (exc) ourselves are powerful or because we please God very much!

¹³ So I will tell you what is really happening. Our ancestors, including Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, worshipped God. And now he has greatly honored Jesus, who always served him. Your leaders brought Jesus to the governor, Pilate, so that his soldiers would kill him. And God considers that in front of Pilate you were the ones who rejected Jesus as your king, after Pilate had decided that he should release Jesus.

¹⁴ Although Jesus always did what was right/just and good, you rejected him. Pilate wanted to release him, but you urgently asked Pilate to release ◄a murderer/someone who had killed people►!

¹⁵ God considers that you killed Jesus, the one who gives people eternal life. But God has greatly honored him ◄by causing him to become alive again after he died/by raising him from the dead►. Many of us saw him after that, and now we (exc) are telling you about it.

¹² When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

¹⁵ and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.

¹² And when Peter saw it he said to the people, You men of Israel, why are you so greatly surprised at this man? or why are you looking at us as if by our power or virtue we had given him the use of his legs?

¹³ The God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has given glory to his servant Jesus; whom you gave up, turning your backs on him, when Pilate had made the decision to let him go free.

¹⁴ But you would have nothing to do with the Holy and Upright One, and made request for a man of blood to be given to you,

¹⁵ And put to death the Lord of life; whom God gave back from the dead; of which fact we are witnesses.

¹² And Peter, seeing it, answered the people, Men of Israel, why are ye astonished at this? or why do ye gaze on us as if we had by our own power or piety made him to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he had judged that he should be let go.

¹⁴ But ye denied the holy and righteous one, and asked that a man that was a murderer should be granted to you;

¹⁵ but the originator of life ye slew, whom God raised from among the dead, whereof we are witnesses.

¹² But Peter seeing, made answer to the people: Ye men of Israel, why wonder you at this? or why look you upon us, as if by our strength or power we had made this man to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied before the face of Pilate, when he judged he should be released.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you.

¹⁵ But the author of life you killed, whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

¹² So when Peter saw this, he replied to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked that a murderer be released to you,

¹⁵ and killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

¹² So upon observing this Peter responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why are you marveling at this, or why are you staring at us as if we have made him walk by our own power or godliness?

¹³ The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up; and you repudiated Him to Pilate's face, when he was intending to release Him.

¹⁴ Yes you repudiated the holy and righteous One, and you asked that a murderer be granted to you,

¹⁵ while you killed the Originator of the Life, whom God raised from among the dead, to which we are witnesses.

¹² When Peter saw this opportunity he told them, “People of Israel, why are you surprised at what's happened to this man? Why are you staring at us as if it was by our own power or faith that we made him walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of our forefathers—has glorified his servant Jesus. He was the one you betrayed and rejected in the presence of Pilate, even after Pilate had decided to release him.

¹⁴ You rejected the one who is holy and good, and demanded a murderer be released to you.

¹⁵ You killed the author of life, the one God raised from the dead—and we are witnesses to this.

¹² So when Peter saw it, he answered vnto the people, Ye me of Israel, why marueile ye at this? or why looke ye so stedfastly on vs, as though by our owne power or godlines, we had made this man go?

¹³ The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Iacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his Sonne Iesus, whom ye betrayed, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had iudged him to be deliuered.

¹⁴ But ye denied the Holy one and the Iust, and desired a murtherer to be giuen you,

¹⁵ And killed the Lord of life, whome God hath raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses.

¹² And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

¹³ The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his servant Jesus, whom ye indeed delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.

¹⁴ But ye denied the holy and righteous one, and asked that a murderer should be granted to you.

¹⁵ But the author of life ye killed; whom God raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses.

¹² On seeing this, Peter said to the people, “People of Israel, why are you surprised at this? And why do you stare at us, as though we, by any power or piety of our own, had enabled this man to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has done honour to his servant Jesus — him whom you gave up and disowned before Pilate, when he had decided to set him free.

¹⁴ You, I say, disowned the holy and righteous one, and asked for the release of a murderer!

¹⁵ The guide to life you put to death! But God raised him from the dead — and of that we are ourselves witnesses.

¹² On seeing this, Peter said to the people, “People of Israel, why are you surprised at this? And why do you stare at us, as though we, by any power or piety of our own, had enabled this man to walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has done honor to his servant Jesus — him whom you gave up and disowned before Pilate, when he had decided to set him free.

¹⁴ You, I say, disowned the holy and righteous one, and asked for the release of a murderer!

¹⁵ The guide to life you put to death! But God raised him from the dead — and of that we are ourselves witnesses.

¹² Peter saw them and said to them, “Hey, all you Israel people, why are you surprised like this? Why are you looking at us? Do you think that we are really powerful and we made this man walk? Do you think that we are so good that we can do that? No. We are not.

¹³ God made this man better, so that everyone will know Jesus is really great. But you mob grabbed Jesus and gave him to the soldiers, for them to kill him. The judge, called Pilate, he wanted to let him go free, but all you mob kept shouting, ‘No, don’t let Jesus go. You have to kill him. You have to let another man go free instead, even though he is a murderer.’ Jesus was a properly good man that lived God’s way, but you said he wasn’t. But Jesus was God’s special workman, and God made him come alive again and God made him really powerful. This is the same God that our grand-fathers of a long time ago respected. They were called Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob.

¹⁵ So you killed Jesus, the one that gives life to people. But God made him alive again. Yes, both of us saw him alive again with our own eyes.

¹² When Peter sawe that he answered vnto the people. Ye men of Israel why marvayle ye at this or why looke ye so stedfastly on vs as though by oure awne power or holynes we had made this man goo?

¹³ The God of Abraham Isaac and Iacob the God of oure fathers hath glorified his sonne Iesus whom ye delyvered and denyed in the presence of Pylate when he had iudged him to be lowsed.

¹⁴ But ye denyed the holy and iust and desyred a mortherar to be geven you

¹⁵ and kylled the Lorde of lyfe whom God hath raysed from deeth of the which we are wytnesses.

¹² When Peter saw this, he answered the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel? Why do you fix your eyes on us, as if we had made him to walk by our own power or godliness?

¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. He is the one whom you delivered up and rejected before the face of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.

¹⁴ You rejected the Holy and Righteous One, and you asked instead for a murderer to be released to you.

¹⁵ You killed the Founder of life, whom God raised from the dead—and we are witnesses of this.

¹² When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.

¹² And Peter saw, and answered to the people, Men of Israel, what wonder ye in this thing? either what behold ye us, as by our virtue, either power, either piety, we made this man for to walk?

¹³ God of Abraham, and God of Isaac, and God of Jacob, and God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom ye betrayed, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he deemed him to be delivered.

¹⁴ But ye denied the holy and the rightful or just man, and asked a manslayer to be given to you.

¹⁵ And ye slew the maker of life, whom God raised from death, of whom we be witnesses.

¹² And Peter saw, and answered to the people, Men of Israel, what wonder ye in this thing? either what behold ye us, as (if) by our (own) virtue, either power, we made this man for to walk? +or as (if) by our virtue, either piety, we make this man to walk? (And Peter saw them, and said to the people, Israelites, why wonder ye at this thing? or why look at us, as if by our own power, we made this man to walk?)

¹³ God of Abraham, and God of Isaac, and God of Jacob, and God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom ye betrayed, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he deemed him to be delivered, or left, (or to be let go), (or when he judged him, and would have released him).

¹⁴ But ye denied the holy and the rightful (man), or Ye forsooth denied the holy and just man, and asked (for) a manslayer to be given to you. (But ye rejected this holy and just man, and asked for a murderer to be given to you.)

¹⁵ And ye slew the maker of life, whom God raised from death or whom God raised from (the) dead, of whom we be witnesses.

¹² and Peter having seen, answered unto the people, 'Men, Israelites! why wonder ye at this? or on us why look ye so earnestly, as if by our own power or piety we have made him to walk?

¹³ 'The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, did glorify His child Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, he having given judgment to release him,

¹⁴ and ye the Holy and Righteous One did deny, and desired a man — a murderer — to be granted to you,

¹⁵ and the Prince of the life ye did kill, whom God did raise out of the dead, of which we are witnesses;
