Acts 2:23-43 in American Standard Version (1901)

23 him, being delivered up by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye by the hand of lawless men did crucify and slay:
24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pangs of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
25 For David saith concerning him, I beheld the Lord always before my face; For he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
26 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; Moreover my flesh also shall dwell in hope:
27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul unto Hades, Neither wilt thou give thy Holy One to see corruption.
28 Thou madest known unto me the ways of life; Thou shalt make me full of gladness with thy countenance.
29 Brethren, I may say unto you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us unto this day.
30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins he would set one upon his throne;
31 he foreseeing this spake of the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he left unto Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.
32 This Jesus did God raise up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear.
34 For David ascended not into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.
36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?
38 And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.
40 And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation.
41 They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and the prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

Acts 2:23-43 in King James (Authorized) Version

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

Acts 2:23-43 in Translation for Translators

23 Even though you knew that, you turned this man Jesus over to his enemies. However, God had already planned for that, and he knew all about it. Then you urged men SYN who do not obey God's law to kill Jesus. They did that by nailing him to a cross.
24 He suffered terribly when he died, but God caused him to become alive again. God did not let him continue to be dead, because it was not possible for him PRS to remain dead.”
25 “ Long ago King David wrote what the Messiah said, “I knew that you, Lord God, would always be near me. You are right beside MTY me, so I will not be afraid of those who want to harm me.
26 Because of that I SYN joyfully praise you, O God. And I am completely confident that you(sg) will ◄ cause my body to become alive again/ raise me from the dead►.
27 You will not allow my spirit to remain in the place where the dead are. You will not even let my body decay, because I am devoted to you and always obey you.
28 You have told me that you will cause my body to become alive again. You will make me very happy because you will be with me forever.”
29 Peter continued, “My fellow Jews, I can tell you confidently that our royal ancestor, King David, died, and that his body was buried {that people buried his body}. And the place where they buried his body is still here today.
30 So we(inc) know that David was not speaking those words about himself. But because he was a prophet, he spoke about the Messiah. David knew that God had strongly promised him that he would cause one of his descendants to become king MTY like David was king. (OR, to be the Messiah who would rule God's people like David had ruled them.)
31 David knew beforehand what God would do, so he was able to say that God would cause the Messiah to live again after he died. He said that God would not let the Messiah remain in the place of the dead, nor let his body decay.”
32 “ After this man Jesus had died, God caused him to become alive again. All of us(exc), his followers, have seen and tell people that Jesus has become alive again.
33 God has greatly honored Jesus by causing him to rule right beside him MTY in heaven. Jesus has received the Holy Spirit from God his Father, just like God promised. So Jesus has generously/abundantly given us the Holy Spirit, and he has shown that by what you are seeing and hearing.
34 We(inc) know that David was not speaking about himself because David did not go up into heaven as Jesus did. Besides that, David himself said this about the Messiah: The Lord God said to my Lord the Messiah, ‘Reign here beside me,
35 while I completely defeat MTY your enemies.’ ”
36 Peter concluded, “So I want you and all other Israelites MTY to acknowledge that God has caused this Jesus to be both our Lord/Ruler and the Messiah. But God considers that you are the ones who nailed Jesus to a cross.”
37 When the people heard what Peter said , they felt very guilty IDM. So they asked him and the other apostles, “Fellow-countrymen, what should we (exc) do so that God will forgive us ?”
38 Peter answered them, “Each of you should turn away from your sinful behavior. Then we(exc) will baptize you, if you now believe in Jesus Christ. Then God will give you the Holy Spirit.
39 God has promised to do that MTY for you and your descendants, and for all others who believe in him, even those who live far away from here. The Lord our God will give his Spirit to everyone whom he invites to become his people!”
40 Peter spoke much more and spoke strongly/forcefully to them. He pleaded with them, “ Ask God to save you so that he will not punish you when he punishes these evil people who have rejected Jesus!”
41 So the people who believed Peter's message were baptized. There were about three thousand SYN who joined the group of believers that day.
42 They continually obeyed what the apostles taught, and they very frequently met together with the other believers. And they continually ate together and celebrated the Lord's Supper, and continually prayed together.
43 All the people SYN who were in Jerusalem were greatly revering God because the apostles were frequently doing many kinds of miraculous things.

Acts 2:23-43 in Bible in Basic English

23 Him, when he was given up, by the decision and knowledge of God, you put to death on the cross, by the hands of evil men:
24 But God gave him back to life, having made him free from the pains of death because it was not possible for him to be overcome by it.
25 For David said of him, I saw the Lord before my face at all times, for he is at my right hand, so that I may not be moved:
26 And for this cause my heart was glad and my tongue full of joy, and my flesh will be resting in hope:
27 For you will not let my soul be in hell and you will not give up your Holy One to destruction.
28 You have made me see the ways of life; I will be full of joy when I see your face.
29 My brothers, I may say to you openly that David came to his death, and was put in the earth, and his resting-place is with us today.
30 But being a prophet, and having in mind the oath which God had given to him, that of the fruit of his body one would take his place as a king,
31 He, having knowledge of the future, was talking of the coming again of Christ from the dead, that he was not kept in hell and his body did not see destruction.
32 This Jesus God has given back to life, of which we all are witnesses.
33 And so, being lifted up to the right hand of God, and having the Father's word that the Holy Spirit would come, he has sent this thing, which now you see and have knowledge of.
34 For David has not gone up into heaven, but says, himself, The Lord said to my Lord, Be seated at my right hand,
35 Till I put all those who are against you under your feet.
36 For this reason, let all Israel be certain that this Jesus, whom you put to death on the cross, God has made Lord and Christ.
37 Now when these words came to their ears their hearts were troubled, and they said to Peter and the other Apostles, Brothers, what are we to do?
38 And Peter said, Let your hearts be changed, every one of you, and have baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will have the Holy Spirit given to you.
39 For the word of God is for you and for your children and for all those who are far off, even all those who may be marked out by the Lord our God.
40 And with more such words he gave his witness, offering them salvation and saying, Come out from this evil generation.
41 Then those who gave hearing to his words had baptism: and about three thousand souls were joined to them that day.
42 And they kept their attention fixed on the Apostles' teaching and were united together in the taking of broken bread and in prayer.
43 But fear came on every soul: and all sorts of wonders and signs were done by the Apostles.

26 Therefore has my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted; yea more, my flesh also shall dwell in hope,
27 for thou wilt not leave my soul in hades, nor wilt thou give thy gracious one to see corruption.
28 Thou hast made known to me the paths of life, thou wilt fill me with joy with thy countenance.
29 Brethren, let it be allowed to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he has both died and been buried, and his monument is amongst us unto this day.
30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath, of the fruit of his loins to set upon his throne;

23 This same being delivered up, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you by the hands of wicked men have crucified and slain.

29 Ye men, brethren, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David; that he died, and was buried; and his sepulchre is with us to this present day.
30 Whereas therefore he was a prophet, and knew that God hath sworn to him with an oath, that of the fruit of his loins one should sit upon his throne.

34 For David ascended not into heaven; but he himself said: The Lord said to my Lord, sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy enemies thy footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know most certainly, that God hath made both Lord and Christ, this same Jesus, whom you have crucified.
37 Now when they had heard these things, they had compunction in their heart, and said to Peter, and to the rest of the apostles: What shall we do, men and brethren?
38 But Peter said to them: Do penance, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins: and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are far off, whomsoever the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with very many other words did he testify and exhort them, saying: Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
41 They therefore that received his word, were baptized; and there were added in that day about three thousand souls.
42 And they were persevering in the doctrine of the apostles, and in the communication of the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: many wonders also and signs were done by the apostles in Jerusalem, and there was great fear in all.

28 You have made known to me roads of life; with Your presence You make me full of gladness.’
29 “Men, brothers, be it permitted to speak to you plainly about the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 So then, he being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that of the fruit, according to flesh, of his loins He would raise up the Messiah to sit on his throne,
31 he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Messiah, that His soul was not abandoned in Hades, nor did His flesh see decay.
32 “This Jesus God raised, to which we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore, having been exalted to God's right hand, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this that you now see and hear.
34 Further, David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says: ‘The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand
35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.’
36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified!”
37 Now upon hearing this they were cut to the heart and said to Peter, and the rest of the Apostles, “Men, brothers, what shall we do?!”
38 So Peter said to them: “Repent and be baptized, each one of you, upon the name of Jesus Christ, for forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far away—as many, that is, as the Lord our God may call.”
40 With many different words he both testified and kept exhorting, saying, “Escape from this perverse generation!”
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized, and that day about three thousand souls were added.
42 And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles' teaching and in the fellowship, both in the breaking of the bread and in the prayers.
43 Fear came upon every soul—many wonders and signs were taking place through the Apostles.

Acts 2:23-43 in Free Bible Version

23 God, knowing beforehand what would happen, followed his plan and resolved to hand him over to you. By means of the hands of wicked men, you killed him by nailing him to a cross.
24 But God raised him back to life, freeing him from the burden of death, because death did not have the power to keep him a prisoner.
25 David says of him, ‘I saw the Lord always in front of me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
26 That's why I'm so happy! That's why my words are full of joy! That's why my body lives in hope!
27 For you will not abandon me in the grave, nor will you allow your Holy One to experience decay.
28 You have revealed to me the ways of life. You will fill me with joy with your presence.’
29 My brothers and sisters, let me tell you plainly that our ancestor David died and was buried, and his tomb is here with us to this day.
30 But he was a prophet, and knew that God had promised on oath to place one of his descendants on his throne.
31 David saw what would happen and spoke about the resurrection of Christ—for Christ was not abandoned to the grave nor did he experience decay.
32 God has raised this Jesus from the dead, and we're all witnesses of that.
33 Now he's been exalted to God's right hand, and has received from the Father the Holy Spirit whom he promised, and has poured out what you're seeing and hearing.
34 For David didn't ascend into heaven, but he did say: the Lord told my Lord, ‘Sit down here at my right hand
35 until I have made your enemies a stool to put your feet on.’
36 Now let everyone in Israel be totally convinced of this: God has made this Jesus, who you killed on a cross, both Lord and Messiah!”
37 When the people heard this they were conscience-stricken. They asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
38 “Repent!” Peter told them. “All of you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 This promise is given to you, to your children, and to all who are far away—everyone the Lord our God calls.”
40 Peter went on speaking, giving them much more evidence. He warned them, “Save yourselves from this perverted generation.”
41 Those who accepted what he'd said were baptized, adding about three thousand people to the group of believers that day.
42 They committed themselves to what the apostles had taught them, and to the fellowship of the believers, “breaking bread” and praying together.
43 Everyone was in awe, and many miracles and signs were done through the apostles.

24 But God released him from the pangs of death and raised him to life, it being impossible for death to retain its hold on him.
25 Indeed he was the one David was referring to when he said — ‘I have had the Lord ever before my eyes, For he stands at my right hand, so that I should not be disquieted.

Acts 2 in Open English Bible (U. S. spelling)

Acts 2:23-43 in Plain English Version

24 Yes, those bad men killed Jesus. He hurt a lot, and then he died. But God didn’t let him stay dead. God made him alive again. Nobody could make Jesus stay dead.
25 A long time ago God’s man called David wrote about Jesus in God’s book. He wrote, ‘I saw you, God. You are always right here in front of me. You are close by my side and you look after me, so nobody can frighten me. So I am very happy and I tell everyone you are good. I know you will not leave my dead body in a grave. You will not let the body of your special person rot away. You showed me the right way to live so that I can keep on living, You are right here with me and you make me very happy.’ David wrote that in God’s book.”
29 Peter kept on talking. He said, “My friends, I can tell you, for sure, about our grand-father David of long ago. He was not talking about himself. You see, he died and people buried him. His grave is still here, and we can see it today. So we know he didn’t come alive again.
30 But David was one of God’s men, and he wrote God’s messages for people. And God promised David that one day, some time later, a man from David’s own family will become the big boss of his people.
31 You see, God told David something that will happen later, so David wrote that message for us. That message was about the man God was going to send, and it tells us that God was going to make him alive again. It tells us God was not going to leave him in the grave or let his body rot away.
32 And now, all of us mob here can tell you that message is all about Jesus. He died, but then God made him alive again, and we all saw him alive again.
33 Then God took him up into heaven. Now he is sitting right next to God, on God’s right side, and God gave him his power.
34 You see, David didn’t go up into heaven, but Jesus did, so we know David didn’t write those words about himself, but he wrote them about Jesus. And David wrote some more words about Jesus too. He wrote, ‘God told my leader, “Sit with me, on my right side, until I beat all your enemies, and then you can put your feet on them to show that you are their boss.” ’ That’s in God’s book.”
36 Then Peter said, “So, all of us Israel mob have to know this for sure. Yes, you got the soldiers to nail Jesus to a cross and kill him. But God made him alive again, and God made him our boss. Yes, he is the one God promised to send to save us.”
37 All the people heard the things Peter said and they felt really ashamed. So they said to Peter, and to the other close followers of Jesus, “Friends, what can we do?”
38 Peter told them, “You have to turn around and follow Jesus. Then let us baptise you to show that you turned away from the wrong things you are doing, and now you follow Jesus Christ. Then God will not pay you back for those bad things. And he will give you the Holy Spirit to live in you just like he promised. You see, God promised to give the Holy Spirit to everyone that he picks to be his own people. God promised this to you, and to your kids, and even to people in other countries a long way away.”
40 And Peter told them a lot more things to be careful about. He kept telling them, “Let God save you so that he will not punish you along with all these crooks that don’t want Jesus.”
41 Then a lot of people believed the things Peter said. So the close followers of Jesus baptised them. They baptised about 3,000 people that day, and those people joined the other followers of Jesus.
42 They all kept meeting together with the Christians and they listened to everything the close followers of Jesus taught them. They were like a big family. They had meals together and remembered that Jesus died for them, and they prayed together to God.
43 God gave power to the close followers of Jesus and they did powerful things. So all the people really respected God.

24 whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
25 For David says concerning him, ‘I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
26 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope,
27 because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
28 You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
29 “Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
31 he foreseeing this, spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul wasn’t left in Hades, and his flesh didn’t see decay.
32 This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you now see and hear.
34 For David didn’t ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit by my right hand
35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’
36 “Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”
40 With many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptised. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
42 They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
43 Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

Acts 2:23-43 in Noah Webster Bible

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
25 For David speaketh concerning him, I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also, my flesh shall rest in hope:
27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thy Holy One to see corruption:
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou wilt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
29 Men, brethren, let me freely speak to you concerning the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us to this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath, that from the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before, spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither did his flesh see corruption.
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, of which we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he saith himself, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard this , they were pricked in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men, brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word, were baptized: and the same day there were added to them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

Deeds (Act) of Apostles 2:23-43 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling

23 ye tormented, and killed him by the hands of wicked men, by counsel determined and betaken by the fore-knowing or the prescience of God.
24 Whom God raised, when the sorrows of hell were unbound, by that that it was impossible that he were holden of it.
25 For David saith of him, I saw afar the Lord before me evermore, for he is on my right half, that I be not moved.
26 For this thing mine heart joyed, and my tongue made full out joy or gladded, and moreover my flesh shall rest in hope.
27 For thou shalt not leave my soul in hell, neither thou shalt give thine Holy to see corruption.
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life, thou shalt full-fill me in mirth with thy face.
29 Brethren, be it leaveful boldly to say to you of the patriarch David, for he is dead and buried, and his sepulchre is among us into this day.
30 Therefore when he was a prophet, and knew, that with a great oath God had sworn to him, that of the fruit of his loins should one sit on his seat,
31 he seeing afar spake of the resurrection of Christ, for neither he was left in hell, neither his flesh saw corruption.
32 God raised this Jesus, to whom we all be witnesses.
33 Therefore he was enhanced by the right hand of God, and through the promise of the Holy Ghost that he took of the Father, he shedded out this Spirit, that ye see and hear.
34 For David ascended not into heaven; but he saith, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right half,
35 till I put thine enemies the stool of thy feet.
36 Therefore most certainly know all the house of Israel, that God made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus, whom ye crucified.
37 When they heard these things, they were compunct in heart; and they said to Peter and to other apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?
38 And Peter said to them, Do ye penance, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, into remission of your sins; and ye shall take the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise or repromission is to you, and to your sons, and to all that be far, whichever or whomever our Lord God hath called.
40 Also with other words full many he witnessed to them, and admonished them, and said, Be ye saved from this shrewd or this wicked generation.
41 Then they that received his word were baptized, and in that day souls were increased, about three thousand;
42 and they were lasting stably in the teaching of the apostles, and in communing of the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And dread was made to each man. And many wonders and signs were done by the apostles in Jerusalem, and great dread was in all.

Deeds (Act) of Apostles 2:23-43 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling (Enhanced)

23 ye tormented, and killed him by the hands of wicked men, by counsel determined and betaken by the fore-knowing or by the prescience of God. (ye tormented, and killed him by the hands of wicked men, delivered up by the predetermined plan and in the foreknowledge of God.)
24 Whom God raised, when the sorrows of hell were unbound, by that that it was impossible that he were holden of it (or because it was impossible that he would be held by it).
25 For David saith of him, I saw afar the Lord before me (for)evermore, for he is on my right half, that I be not moved. (For David said of him, I saw the Lord always before me, for he is on my right side, or at my right hand, so that I shall not be moved.)
26 For this thing mine heart joyed, and my tongue made full out joy or gladded, and moreover my flesh shall rest in hope.
27 For thou shalt not leave my soul in hell, neither thou shalt give thine Holy (One) to see corruption.
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life, thou shalt full-fill me with mirth with thy face (or thou shalt fill me full of joy by thy presence).
29 Brethren, be it leaveful boldly to say to you of the patriarch David, for he is dead and buried, and his sepulchre is among us into this day. (Brothers, may it be lawful for me to boldly say this to you about the patriarch David, that he is dead and buried, and his tomb is here among us unto this day.)
30 Therefore when he was a prophet, and knew, that with a great oath God had sworn to him, that of the fruit of his loins should one sit on his seat (or that a man from the fruit of his loins should sit on his throne),
31 he seeing afar spake of the resurrection of Christ (or he seeing far ahead spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah), for neither he was left in hell, neither his flesh saw corruption.
32 God raised this Jesus, to whom we all be witnesses.
33 Therefore he was enhanced by the right hand of God, and through the promise of the Holy Ghost that he took of the Father, he shedded out this Spirit, that ye see and hear. (And so he was exalted, or raised up, by the right hand of God, and through the promise of the Holy Spirit that he received from the Father, he poured out this Spirit, that ye now see and hear.)
34 For David ascended not into heaven; but he saith, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right half, (or Sit on my right side, or at my right hand),
35 till I put thine enemies the stool of thy feet. (until I make thine enemies thy footstool.)
36 Therefore most certainly know all the house of Israel, that God made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus, whom ye crucified. (And so let all the house of Israel most certainly know, that God made this Jesus, whom ye crucified, both Lord and Messiah.)
37 When they heard these things, they were compuncted in heart; and they said to Peter and to (the) other apostles, Brethren (or Brothers), what shall we do?
38 And Peter said to them, Do ye penance, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, into remission of your sins; and ye shall take the gift of the Holy Ghost. (And Peter said to them, Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and then ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.)
39 For the promise is to you, and to your sons, and to all that be far (off), whichever our Lord God hath called. Forsooth repromission is to you, and to your sons, and to all that be far, whomever the Lord our God hath called to (him).
40 Also with other words full many he witnessed to them, and admonished them, and said, Be ye saved from this shrewd or from this wicked generation. (And with a great many other words he testified to them, and admonished them, and said, Save yourselves from this depraved generation.)
41 Then they that received his word were baptized, and in (or on) that day souls were increased, about three thousand;
42 and they were lasting stably in the teaching of the apostles, and in (the) communing of the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And dread was made to each man. And many wonders and signs were done by the apostles in Jerusalem, and great dread was in all. (And there was fearful reverence in each man. And many wonders and miracles were done by the apostles in Jerusalem, and great and fearful reverence was in all.)

Acts 2:23-43 in Young's Literal Translation

23 this one, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, being given out, having taken by lawless hands, having crucified — ye did slay;
24 whom God did raise up, having loosed the pains of the death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it,
25 for David saith in regard to him: I foresaw the Lord always before me — because He is on my right hand — that I may not be moved;
26 because of this was my heart cheered, and my tongue was glad, and yet — my flesh also shall rest on hope,
27 because Thou wilt not leave my soul to hades, nor wilt Thou give Thy Kind One to see corruption;
28 Thou didst make known to me ways of life, Thou shalt fill me with joy with Thy countenance.
29 'Men, brethren! it is permitted to speak with freedom unto you concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us unto this day;
30 a prophet, therefore, being, and knowing that with an oath God did swear to him, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit upon his throne,
31 having foreseen, he did speak concerning the rising again of the Christ, that his soul was not left to hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.
32 'This Jesus did God raise up, of which we are all witnesses;
33 at the right hand then of God having been exalted — also the promise of the Holy Spirit having received from the Father — he was shedding forth this, which now ye see and hear;
34 for David did not go up to the heavens, and he saith himself: The Lord saith to my lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
35 till I make thy foes thy footstool;
36 assuredly, therefore, let all the house of Israel know, that both Lord and Christ did God make him — this Jesus whom ye did crucify.'
37 And having heard, they were pricked to the heart; they say also to Peter, and to the rest of the apostles, 'What shall we do, men, brethren?'
38 and Peter said unto them, 'Reform, and be baptized each of you on the name of Jesus Christ, to remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,
39 for to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.'
40 Also with many more other words he was testifying and exhorting, saying, 'Be saved from this perverse generation;'
41 then those, indeed, who did gladly receive his word were baptized, and there were added on that day, as it were, three thousand souls,
42 and they were continuing stedfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers.
43 And fear came on every soul, many wonders also and signs were being done through the apostles,
