Acts 27:7-10 in English

⁷ And when we had sailed slowly many days, and were come with difficulty over against Cnidus, the wind not further suffering us, we sailed under the lee of Crete, over against Salmone;

⁸ and with difficulty coasting along it we came unto a certain place called Fair Havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

⁹ And when much time was spent, and the voyage was now dangerous, because the Fast was now already gone by, Paul admonished them,

¹⁰ and said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the lading and the ship, but also of our lives.

⁷ And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

⁸ And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

⁹ Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

¹⁰ And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

⁷ And when we had sailed slowly many days, and were come with difficulty over against Cnidus, the wind not further suffering us, we sailed under the lee of Crete, over against Salmone;

⁸ and with difficulty coasting along it we came unto a certain place called Fair Havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

⁹ And when much time was spent, and the voyage was now dangerous, because the Fast was now already gone by, Paul admonished them,

¹⁰ and said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the lading and the ship, but also of our lives.

⁷ We sailed slowly for several days and finally arrived close to the coast of Asia province, near Cnidus town. After that, the wind was very strong and did not allow the ship to move straight ahead westward. So instead, we sailed southward along the side of Crete Island that is sheltered from the wind, and we passed near Cape Salmone.

⁸ The wind was still strong, and it prevented the ship from moving ahead fast. So we moved slowly along the coast of Crete, and we arrived at a harbor that was called Fair Havens, near Lasea town.

⁹ Much time had passed, so it would have been dangerous if we (exc) had traveled farther by ship because after that time of the year MTY the sea often became very stormy. So Paul said to the men on the ship,

¹⁰ “Men, I perceive that if we(inc) travel by ship now, it will be disastrous for us. A storm may destroy the ship and the cargo, and possibly we will drown.”

⁷ When we had sailed slowly many days, and had come with difficulty opposite Cnidus, the wind not allowing us further, we sailed under the lee of Crete, opposite Salmone.

⁸ With difficulty sailing along it we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, near the city of Lasea.

⁹ When much time had passed and the voyage was now dangerous because the Fast had now already gone by, Paul admonished them

¹⁰ and said to them, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”

¹⁰ and said to them, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”

⁷ And when we had gone on slowly for a long time, and had had hard work getting across to Cnidus, for the wind was against us, we went under cover of Crete, in the direction of Salmone;

⁸ And sailing down the side of it, as well as we were able, we came to a certain place named Fair Havens, near which was the town of Lasea.

⁹ And as a long time had gone by, and the journey was now full of danger, because it was late in the year, Paul put the position before them,

¹⁰ Saying, Friends, I see that this journey will be one of great damage and loss, not only to the goods and the ship, but to ourselves.

⁷ And sailing slowly for many days, and having with difficulty got abreast of Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under the lee of Crete abreast of Salmone;

⁸ and coasting it with difficulty we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, near to which was the city of Lasaea.

⁹ And much time having now been spent, and navigation being already dangerous, because the fast also was already past, Paul counselled them,

¹⁰ saying, Men, I perceive that the navigation will be with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.

⁷ And when for many days we had sailed slowly, and were scarce come over against Gnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed near Crete by Salmone:

⁸ And with much ado sailing by it, we came into a certain place, which is called Good-havens, nigh to which was the city of Thalassa.

⁹ And when much time was spent, and when sailing now was dangerous, because the fast was now past, Paul comforted them,

¹⁰ Saying to them: Ye men, I see that the voyage beginneth to be with injury and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

⁷ And sailing slowly many days, and with difficulty arriving down off Cnidus, since the wind would not permit us to go on, we sailed under the sheltered side of Crete, down off Salmone.

⁸ And with difficulty sailing past it, we came to a place called Fair Havens, near the city of Lasea.

⁹ Now when much time had been spent, the voyage having already become dangerous, because the Fast had already gone by, Paul recommended,

¹⁰ saying to them, “Men, I perceive this voyage is going to be with hardship and much loss, not only of the cargo and of the ship but also our lives.”

⁷ When we had sailed slowly many days and scarcely arrived opposite Cnidus, the wind did not allow us to go forward, so we sailed for the lee of Crete by way of Salmone;

⁸ sailing along it with difficulty we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, near the town of Lasea.

⁹ Much time had been lost and sailing was already dangerous, because even the Fast had already taken place; Paul repeatedly warned them

¹⁰ saying, “Men, I perceive that the voyage is about to be with damage and great loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but even of our lives.”

⁷ We sailed slowly for several days and eventually arrived off Cnidus. But since the winds wouldn't allow us to continue we sailed across to the lee of Crete, near to Salmone.

⁸ With some difficulty we made our way along the coast until we arrived at a place called Fair Havens, near to the town of Lasea.

⁹ We'd lost a lot of time, and the voyage was becoming dangerous because it was now after the Fast. Paul warned them,

¹⁰ “Men, I predict that this voyage will result in much hardship and loss—not just of the cargo and the ship, but also our very lives.”

⁷ And when we had sayled slowly many dayes, and scarce were come against Gnidum, because the winde suffered vs not, we sailed hard by Candie, neere to Salmone,

⁸ And with much adoe sayled beyond it, and came vnto a certaine place called the Faire hauens, neere vnto the which was the citie Lasea.

⁹ So when much time was spent, and sayling was now ieopardous, because also the Fast was nowe passed, Paul exhorted them,

¹⁰ And sayde vnto them, Syrs, I see that this voiage will be with hurt and much damage, not of the lading and ship onely, but also of our liues.

⁷ And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

⁸ and, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

⁹ Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

¹⁰ and said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

⁷ And sailing slowly some days, and having with difficulty arrived over against Cnidus, the wind not permitting us to put in, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

⁸ and coasting along it with difficulty we came to a place called Fair Havens, near which was the city Lasea.

⁹ And much time having been spent, and the voyage being now dangerous, because the Fast had already gone by, Paul advised them,

¹⁰ saying, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the lading and the ship, but also of our lives.

⁷ For several days our progress was slow, and it was only with difficulty that we arrived off Cnidus. As the wind was still unfavorable when we came off Cape Salmone, we sailed under the lee of Crete,

⁸ and with difficulty, by keeping close in shore, we reached a place called ‘Fair Havens,’ near which was the town of Lasea.

⁹ This had taken a considerable time, and sailing was already dangerous, for the Fast was already over; and so Paul gave this warning.

¹⁰ “My friends,” he said, “I see that this voyage will be attended with injury and much damage, not only to the cargo and the ship, but to our own lives also.”

⁷ For several days our progress was slow, and it was only with difficulty that we arrived off Cnidus. As the wind was still unfavorable when we came off Cape Salmone, we sailed under the lee of Crete,

⁸ and with difficulty, by keeping close in shore, we reached a place called ‘Fair Havens,’ near which was the town of Lasea.

⁹ This had taken a considerable time, and sailing was already dangerous, for the Fast was already over; and so Paul gave this warning.

¹⁰ “My friends,” he said, “I see that this voyage will be attended with injury and much damage, not only to the cargo and the ship, but to our own lives also.”

⁷ We sailed slowly for a few days and then we came close to the coast of Asia country, near a town called Cnidus. After that the wind got very strong. It didn’t let the ship sail straight ahead toward the west, so we sailed toward the south. We sailed along the south side of Crete Island to get away from the wind. We went past Cape Salmone.

⁸ The wind was still strong, so the ship couldn’t sail properly, and we went slowly along the coast of Crete Island until we came to a place called Fair Havens Harbour, near a town called Lasea.

⁹ It took us a long time to get to Fair Havens Harbour. It was already October, and the bad weather was coming soon. If we kept going we might get big trouble from storms. So Paul said to the men in charge of the ship,

¹⁰ “Listen, men, I reckon that if we keep going we will get big trouble. I reckon a storm will wreck this ship and you will lose everything in it, and we might drown too.”

⁷ And when we had sayled slowly many dayes and scace were come over agaynst Gnydon (because the wynde with stode vs) we sayled harde by the costes of Candy over agaynste Salmo

⁸ and with moche worke sayled beyonde that and came vnto a place called good porte. Nye whervnto was a citie called Lasea.

⁹ When moche tyme was spent and saylinge was now ieoperdeous because also that we had overlonge fasted Paul put them in remembraunce

¹⁰ and sayde vnto them Syrs I perceave that this vyage wilbe with hurte and moche domage not of the ladynge and ship only: but also of oure lyves.

⁷ When we had sailed slowly for many days and had finally arrived with difficulty near Cnidus, the wind no longer allowed us to go that way, so we sailed along the sheltered side of Crete, opposite Salmone.

⁸ We sailed along the coast with difficulty, until we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, which is near the city of Lasea.

⁹ We had now taken much time, the time of the Jewish fast also had passed, and it had now become dangerous to sail. So Paul warned them,

¹⁰ and said, “Men, I see that the voyage we are about to take will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.”

⁷ When we had sailed slowly many days, and had come with difficulty opposite Cnidus, the wind not allowing us further, we sailed under the lee of Crete, opposite Salmone.

⁸ With difficulty sailing along it we came to a certain place called Fair Havens, near the city of Lasea.

⁷ And when in many days we sailed slowly, and scarcely came against Cnidus, for the wind hindered us, we sailed to Crete, beside Salmone.

⁸ And scarcely we sailed beside, and came into a place, that is called of good haven, to whom the city Lasea was nigh.

⁹ And when much time was passed, and when sailing then was not secure, for that fasting was passed, Paul comforted them,

¹⁰ and said to them, Men, I see that sailing beginneth to be with wrong and much harm, not only of the charge, and of the ship, but also of our lives.

⁷ And when in many days we sailed slowly, and scarcely came against Cnidus, for the wind hindered us, we sailed to Crete, beside Salmone.

⁸ And scarcely we sailed beside, and came into a place, that is called of good haven, to whom the city Lasea was nigh.

⁹ And when much time was passed, and when sailing then was not secure, for that (the time of) fasting was passed, Paul comforted them (or Paul strengthened them),

¹⁰ and said to them, Men, I see that (the) sailing beginneth to be with wrong and much harm, not only of the charge, and of the ship, but also of our lives, (or not only for the cargo, and for the ship, but also even for our own lives).

⁷ and having sailed slowly many days, and with difficulty coming over-against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over-against Salmone,

⁸ and hardly passing it, we came to a certain place called 'Fair Havens,' nigh to which was the city of Lasaea.

⁹ And much time being spent, and the sailing being now dangerous — because of the fast also being already past — Paul was admonishing,

¹⁰ saying to them, 'Men, I perceive that with hurt, and much damage, not only of the lading and of the ship, but also of our lives — the voyage is about to be;'
