⁸ from whom thou wilt be able, by examining him thyself, to take knowledge of all these things whereof we accuse him.

⁹ And the Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that these things were so.

¹⁰ And when the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, Paul answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I cheerfully make my defence:

¹¹ seeing that thou canst take knowledge that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem:

¹² and neither in the temple did they find me disputing with any man or stirring up a crowd, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city.

⁸ Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

⁹ And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.

¹⁰ Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:

¹¹ Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.

¹² And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

⁸ from whom thou wilt be able, by examining him thyself, to take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

⁹ And the Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that these things were so.

¹⁰ And when the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, Paul answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do cheerfully make my defence:

¹¹ seeing that thou canst take knowledge, that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem:

¹² and neither in the temple did they find me disputing with any man or stirring up a crowd, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city.

⁸ Lysias also commanded Paul's accusers to come here and accuse Paul before you. If you question him yourself, you will be able to learn that all these things about which we are accusing him are true.”

⁹ When the Jewish leaders who were listening heard that, they told the governor that what Tertullus had said was true.

¹⁰ Then the governor motioned with his hand to Paul that he should speak. So Paul replied. He said, “ Governor Felix, I know that you(sg) have judged this Jewish province for many years. Therefore I gladly defend myself, confident that you will listen to me and will judge me fairly.

¹¹ You (sg) can easily ascertain that ◄it has not been more than twelve days since/only twelve days ago► I went up went up to Jerusalem to worship God. That is not enough time to cause a lot of trouble.

¹² No one can claim legitimately that they saw me arguing with anyone at the Temple courts because I did not do that. No one can claim legitimately that they saw me causing people to riot in any Jewish meeting place, or causing trouble anywhere else in Jerusalem city, because I did not do that.

⁸ By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.”

⁹ And the Jews were in agreement with his statement, saying that these things were so.

¹⁰ Then when the ruler had given him a sign to make his answer, Paul said, Because I have knowledge that you have been a judge over this nation for a number of years, I am glad to make my answer:

¹¹ Seeing that you are able to make certain of the fact that it is not more than twelve days from the time when I came up to Jerusalem for worship;

¹² And they have not seen me in argument with any man in the Temple, or working up the feelings of the people, in the Synagogues or in the town:

⁸ having commanded his accusers to come to thee; of whom thou canst thyself, in examining him, know the certainty of all these things of which we accuse him.

⁹ And the Jews also joined in pressing the matter against Paul, saying that these things were so.

¹⁰ But Paul, the governor having beckoned to him to speak, answered, Knowing that for many years thou hast been judge to this nation, I answer readily as to the things which concern myself.

¹¹ As thou mayest know that there are not more than twelve days since I went up to worship at Jerusalem,

¹² and neither in the temple did they find me discoursing to any one, or making any tumultuous gathering together of the crowd, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city;

⁸ Commanding his accusers to come to thee: of whom thou mayest thyself, by examination, have knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

⁹ And the Jews also added, and said that these things were so.

¹⁰ Then Paul answered, (the governor making a sign to him to speak:) Knowing that for many years thou hast been judge over this nation, I will with good courage answer for myself.

¹¹ For thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days, since I went up to adore in Jerusalem:

¹² And neither in the temple did they find me disputing with any man, or causing any concourse of the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

⁸ from whom you will be able, having judged him yourself, to learn about all these things of which we are accusing him.”

⁹ And the Jews also joined in the attack, asserting that these things were so.

¹⁰ But Paul answered (the governor, having nodded for him to speak): “Knowing that you have been a judge of this nation for many years, the more cheerfully I defend the things concerning myself,

¹¹ because you being able to know that it has not been more than twelve days since I went up to worship in Jerusalem.

¹² And they did not find me with anyone in the temple disputing, or inciting a crowd to rise up, neither in the synagogues nor in the city.

⁸ By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.”

⁹ And the Jews also joined in the attack, affirming that these things were so.

¹⁰ When the governor had nodded to him to speak, Paul answered: “Knowing, as I do, that you have been an equitable judge of this nation for many years, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself,

¹¹ because you can ascertain that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem to worship.

¹² They did not find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd—not in the temple, not in the synagogues, not around the city.

⁸ By interrogating him yourself you will discover the truth of our accusations.”

⁹ The Jews joined in, saying that this was all true.

¹⁰ The Governor motioned for Paul to respond. “Recognizing you have been a judge over this nation for many years, I gladly make my defense,” Paul began.

¹¹ “You can easily verify that I arrived in Jerusalem to worship just twelve days ago.

¹² Nobody found me arguing in the Temple with anyone, or inciting people to riot in any synagogue or anywhere in the city.

⁸ Commanding his accusers to come to thee: of whom thou mayest (if thou wilt inquire) know all these things whereof we accuse him.

⁹ And the Iewes likewise affirmed, saying that it was so.

¹⁰ Then Paul, after that the gouernour had beckened vnto him that hee shoulde speake, answered, I do the more gladly answere for my selfe, for as much as I knowe that thou hast bene of many yeres a iudge vnto this nation,

¹¹ Seeing that thou mayest knowe, that there are but twelue dayes since I came vp to worship in Hierusalem.

¹² And they neither found mee in the Temple disputing with any man, neither making vproare among the people, neither in the Synagogues, nor in the citie.

¹¹ for it is in thy power to ascertain that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem to worship.

¹² And neither in the temple did they find me disputing with any one, or stirring up a tumult of the people, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city;

⁸ and you will be able, by examining him on all these points, to satisfy yourself as to the charges which we are bringing against him.”

⁹ The Jewish crowd also joined in the attack and bore out his statements.

¹⁰ On a sign from the Governor, Paul made this reply: “Knowing, as I do, for how many years you have acted as judge to this nation, it is with confidence that I undertake my own defence.

¹¹ For you can easily verify that it is not more than twelve days ago that I went up to worship at Jerusalem,

¹² where my prosecutors never found me holding discussions with anyone, or causing a crowd to collect — either in the Temple, or in the synagogues, or about the city;

⁸ and you will be able, by examining him on all these points, to satisfy yourself as to the charges which we are bringing against him.”

⁹ The Jewish crowd also joined in the attack and bore out his statements.

¹⁰ On a sign from the Governor, Paul made this reply: “Knowing, as I do, for how many years you have acted as judge to this nation, it is with confidence that I undertake my own defense.

¹¹ For you can easily verify that it is not more than twelve days ago that I went up to worship at Jerusalem,

¹² where my prosecutors never found me holding discussions with anyone, or causing a crowd to collect — either in the Temple, or in the synagogues, or about the city;

⁸ If you ask him questions you will find out for yourself that everything we are telling you is true.”

⁹ The other Jewish leaders blamed Paul too, and they reckoned that everything Tertullus said was true.

¹⁰ Then the governor waved with his hand to Paul to let him know that it was his turn to talk. So Paul said, “I know that you have been a judge in this country for a long time, so I’m happy to tell you the true story.

¹¹ You see, just 12 days ago I went to Jerusalem to show respect to God. You can check on this yourself and you will find that it is true. That is not enough time for me to make a lot of trouble.

¹² This mob didn’t see me arguing with anyone at God’s ceremony house, and they didn’t see me upsetting anybody, or making them go wild, not in any Jewish meeting house, and nowhere else in Jerusalem. I never did that anywhere.

⁸ commaundinge his accusars to come vnto the. Of who thou mayst (yf thou wilt enquyre) knowe the certayne of all these thinges where of we accuse him.

⁹ The Iewes lyke wyse affermed sayinge that it was even so.

¹⁰ Then Paul (after that the rular him selfe had beckened vnto him that he shuld speake) answered: I shall with a moare quyet minde answere for my selfe for as moche as I vnderstonde that thou hast bene of many yeares a iudge vnto this people

¹¹ because that thou mayst knowe that there are yet .xii. dayes sence I went vp to Ierusalem for to praye

¹² and that they nether founde me in the temple disputinge with eny man other raysinge vp the people nether in the Synagoges nor in the cite.

⁸ When you question Paul about all these matters, you will be able to learn about these charges we are bringing against him.”

⁹ The Jews also joined in the accusation, affirming that these charges were true.

¹⁰ But when the governor motioned for Paul to speak, Paul answered, “I understand that for many years you have been a judge to this nation, and so I gladly explain myself to you.

¹¹ You will be able to find out that it has not been more than twelve days since I went up to worship in Jerusalem.

¹² When they found me in the temple, I did not argue with anyone, and I did not stir up a crowd, either in the synagogues, or in the city.

⁸ By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.”

¹¹ For thou mayest know, for to me be not more or no more than twelve days, since I came up to worship in Jerusalem;

¹² and neither in the temple they found me disputing with any man, neither making concourse of the people, neither in the synagogues, neither in city;

⁸ and commanded his accusers to come to thee, of whom thou deeming (or of whom thou judging), mayest know of all these things, of which we accuse him.

⁹ And (the) Jews put to (or And the Jews agreed), and said, that these things had them so.

¹⁰ And Paul answered, when the president granted him to say, Of many years I know thee, that thou art doomsman to this folk, and I shall do enough for me with good reason. (And Paul answered, when the Governor allowed him to speak, For many years I know thee, that thou art the judge of these people, and I shall defend myself with sound reasoning.)

¹¹ For thou mayest know, for to me be not more than twelve days or for to me be no more than twelve days, since I came up to worship in Jerusalem;

¹² and neither in the temple they found me disputing with any man, neither making concourse of the people, neither in the synagogues, neither in (the) city;

⁸ having commanded his accusers to come to thee, from whom thou mayest be able, thyself having examined, to know concerning all these things of which we accuse him;'

⁹ and the Jews also agreed, professing these things to be so.

¹⁰ And Paul answered — the governor having beckoned to him to speak — 'Knowing that for many years thou hast been a judge to this nation, the more cheerfully the things concerning myself I do answer;

¹¹ thou being able to know that it is not more than twelve days to me since I went up to worship in Jerusalem,

¹² and neither in the temple did they find me reasoning with any one, or making a dissension of the multitude, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city;
