Acts 20:28-38 in American Standard Version (1901)

28 Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.
29 I know that after my departing grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock;
30 and from among your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31 Wherefore watch ye, remembering that by the space of three years I ceased not to admonish every one night and day with tears.
32 And now I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you the inheritance among all them that are sanctified.
33 I coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34 Ye yourselves know that these hands ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
35 In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down and prayed with them all.
37 And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,
38 sorrowing most of all for the word which he had spoken, that they should behold his face no more. And they brought him on his way unto the ship.

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
33 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
37 And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,
38 Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

Acts 20:28-38 in Translation for Translators

28 You leaders must continue to believe and obey God's message. You must also help all the other believers MET for whom the Holy Spirit has caused you to be responsible MTY. Watch over MET yourselves and the other believers as a shepherd watches over his sheep. God bought them with the blood that flowed from his Son's body on the cross.
29 I know very well that after I leave, people who teach MET false doctrines will come among you and will do great harm to the believers. They will be like fierce wolves that kill sheep.
30 Even in your own group of believers there will be some who will deceive other believers by teaching them messages that are false. They will teach those messages so that some people will believe them and will become their followers.
31 So watch out that none of you stops believing the true message about our Lord Jesus. Remember that day and night for about three years I repeatedly taught you that message, and warned you with tears in my eyes not to believe any other message.”
32 “ Now as I leave you, I ask God to protect you and to keep you believing the message that he saves us(inc) by doing for us what we do not deserve. If you continue believing the message that I told you, you will become spiritually mature, and God will give you the blessings that he has promised to give to all of those who belong to him.
33 As for myself, I have not desired anyone's money MTY or fine clothing.
34 You yourselves know that I have worked with my hands MTY to earn the money that my companions and I needed.
35 In everything that I did, I showed you that we (inc) should work hard in order to have enough money to give some to those who are needy. We (inc) should remember that our Lord Jesus himself said, ‘You are happy when people give you what you need, but God will be happy with you when you give other people what they need.’”
36 When Paul had finished speaking, he knelt down with all of the elders and prayed.
37 They all cried a lot, and they hugged Paul and kissed him.
38 They were especially sad because he had said that they would never see him SYN again. Then they all went with him to the ship.

28 Take heed, therefore, to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Acts 20:28-38 in Bible in Basic English

28 Give attention to yourselves, and to all the flock which the Holy Spirit has given into your care, to give food to the church of God, for which he gave his blood.
29 I am conscious that after I am gone, evil wolves will come in among you, doing damage to the flock;
30 And from among yourselves will come men who will give wrong teaching, turning away the disciples after them.
31 So keep watch, having in mind that for three years without resting I was teaching every one of you, day and night, with weeping.
32 And now, I give you into the care of God and the word of his grace, which is able to make you strong and to give you your heritage among all the saints.
33 I have had no desire for any man's silver or gold or clothing.
34 You yourselves have seen that with these hands I got what was necessary for me and those who were with me.
35 In all things I was an example to you of how, in your lives, you are to give help to the feeble, and keep in memory the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, There is a greater blessing in giving than in getting.
36 And having said these words, he went down on his knees in prayer with them all.
37 And they were all weeping, falling on Paul's neck and kissing him,
38 Being sad most of all because he had said that they would not see his face again. And so they went with him to the ship.

28 Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, wherein the Holy Spirit has set you as overseers, to shepherd the assembly of God, which he has purchased with the blood of his own.

32 And now I commit you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and give to you an inheritance among all the sanctified.
33 I have coveted the silver or gold or clothing of no one.
34 Yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my wants, and to those who were with me.
35 I have shewed you all things, that thus labouring we ought to come in aid of the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
36 And having said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37 And they all wept sore; and falling upon the neck of Paul they ardently kissed him,
38 specially pained by the word which he had said, that they would no more see his face. And they went down with him to the ship.

Acts 20:28-38 in Douay-Rheims 1899

28 Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 I know that, after my departure, ravening wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 And of your own selves shall arise men speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, keeping in memory, that for three years I ceased not, with tears to admonish every one of you night and day.

33 I have not coveted any man’s silver, gold, or apparel, as
34 You yourselves know: for such things as were needful for me and them that are with me, these hands have furnished.
35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, how he said: It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.
36 And when he had said these things, kneeling down, he prayed with them all.
37 And there was much weeping among them all; and falling on the neck of Paul, they kissed him,
38 Being grieved most of all for the word which he had said, that they should see his face no more. And they brought him on his way to the ship.

28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of the Lord, and of God, which He purchased with His own blood.
29 For I know this, that savage wolves will come in after my departure, not sparing the flock.
30 Also from among you yourselves will arise men speaking things having been distorted, in order to draw away the disciples after them.
31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years, night and day I did not cease, with tears, exhorting each one.
32 “So for the present, I entrust you, brothers, to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who have been sanctified.
33 I have coveted the silver or gold or clothes of no one.
34 You yourselves know that these hands have rendered service to my needs, and those who were with me.
35 By all things I have shown you, that thus laboring it is necessary to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
36 And having said these things, he knelt down, together with them all, and prayed.
37 And there was considerable weeping by all, and falling on Paul's neck, they kissed him,
38 feeling pain most of all for the words which he said, that they were about to see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

30 Yes, men will rise up from among you yourselves, speaking distorted things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31 Therefore be alert, remembering that during three years, night and day, I never stopped admonishing each one, with tears.

36 When he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37 Then they all wept freely, and falling on Paul's neck kept kissing him,

28 Take care of yourselves and of all the flock, which the Holy Spirit has given to you to supervise. Feed the Lord's church which he bought with his own blood.
29 I know that after I leave vicious wolves will come among you, and won't spare the flock.
30 From among your own group men will rise up perverting what is right and good so they can lead believers to follow them.
31 So watch out! Don't forget that for three years I went on instructing all of you night and day, often crying over you.
32 Now I commit you in God's care and to the message of his grace, which is able to build you up and provide you with the inheritance that belongs to all who are kept right with him.
33 I never had any desire for anyone's silver or gold or clothing.
34 You know that I worked with my own hands to provide for my own needs, as well as for those who were with me.
35 I have given you an example in everything: work to help those who are weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
36 When he finished speaking, he kneeled down and prayed with all of them.
37 They all wept as they hugged and kissed him.
38 What upset them the most was what he said about never seeing him again... Then they walked down to the ship with him.

Acts 20:28-38 in Plain English Version

28 Now you leaders have to watch out for yourselves, and watch out for God’s people here too. Make sure you keep on following Jesus properly, and help all God’s people to follow him properly too. The Holy Spirit picked you to be their leaders, so look after them properly. Remember, God bought his people with the blood of his own son.
29 I know that after I go away from here, other people will come to you and they will teach you lies. They will try to trick all of God’s people. They will be like cheeky dingoes that kill sheep. Even in your own group of Christians, some men will get up and trick other Christians. They will change the true story and tell it wrong, so they can get people to follow them.
31 So watch out. Make sure each one of you keeps on believing the true story about Jesus. Remember, I was here with you for 3 years, and for all that time I always told you not to believe a different message. And if I thought you were going wrong, I even cried about you.”
32 Paul kept on talking. He said, “Now I’m asking God to keep you safe, and to keep you believing the true message that God is very good to you and will save you. If you keep on believing that message you will grow strong spiritually. You will know you are in God’s family, and God will give you the good things he is keeping for his own people.
33 Listen, you mob know me. Do you remember that way I lived with you? I showed you the right way for a Christian to live. I never wanted to get anyone’s money or good clothes. I always worked with my hands to get the money that I needed, and to get money for my friends, too.
35 I did everything in a way that showed you that we all have to work hard to get enough money, not just for ourselves, but to give some to people that are short of the things they need. We have to remember that our leader is Jesus, and he said, ‘If people give things to you, that can make you a bit happy. But if you give things to other people you will be properly happy.’”
36 Paul finished talking, then he got down on his knees with all of those Christian leaders, to show respect to God, and he prayed with them.
37 They all cried a lot, and they hugged Paul and kissed him.
38 They heard Paul say that they wouldn’t see him again, and this made them very sad. Then they all went with him to the ship.

28 Therefore be careful about yourselves, and about all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be careful to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.
29 I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
30 I know that from even among you some men shall come and distort the truth in order to draw away the disciples after them.
31 So be on guard. Remember that for three years I did not stop instructing every one of you with tears night and day.
32 Now I entrust you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are being sanctified.
33 I coveted no man's silver, gold, or clothing.
34 You yourselves know that these hands served my own needs and the needs of those who were with me.
35 In all things I gave you an example of how you should help the weak by working, and of how you should remember the words of the Lord Jesus, words that he himself said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
36 After he had spoken in this way, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37 There was a lot of crying and they embraced Paul and kissed him.
38 They were sad most of all because of what he had said, that they would never see his face again. Then they escorted him to the ship.

Acts 20:28-38 in World English Bible

28 Take heed, therefore, to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.
32 Now, brothers, I entrust you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
33 I coveted no one’s silver, gold, or clothing.
34 You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.
35 In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
36 When he had spoken these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37 They all wept freely, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,
38 sorrowing most of all because of the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

Acts 20:28-38 in Noah Webster Bible

28 Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also from your own selves will men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them who are sanctified.
33 I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
34 And ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered to my necessities, and to them that were with me.
35 I have shown you all things, that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
37 And they all wept bitterly, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,
38 Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

Deeds (Act) of Apostles 20:28-38 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling

28 Take ye attention to you, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Ghost hath set or hath put you, bishops to rule the church of God, which he purchased with his blood.
29 I know, that after my departing, ravening wolves shall enter into you, not sparing the flock;
30 and men speaking shrewd or wayward things shall rise of your-selves, that they lead away disciples after them.
31 For which thing wake ye, holding in mind, that by three years night and day I ceased not, with tears, admon-ishing each of you.
32 And now I betake you to God and to the word of his grace, that is mighty to edify and give heritage in all that be made holy.
33 And of no man I coveted silver, and gold, either cloth,
34 as ye yourselves know; for to those things that were needful to me, and to these that be with me, these hands ministered.
35 All these things I showed to you, for so it behooveth men travailing to receive sick men, and to have mind of the word of the Lord Jesus; for he said, It is more blessful or more blessed to give, than to receive.
36 And when he had said these things, he kneeled, and prayed with all them.
37 And great weeping of all men was made; and they felled on the neck of Paul, and kissed him,
38 and sorrowed most in the word that he said, for they shall no more see his face. And they led him to the ship.

Deeds (Act) of Apostles 20:28-38 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling (Enhanced)

28 Take ye attention to you(rselves), and to all (of) the flock, in which the Holy Ghost hath set you, or hath put you, (as) bishops (or among whom the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers), to rule the church of God, which he purchased with his blood.
29 I know, that after my departing, ravening (or snatching) wolves shall enter into you, not sparing the flock;
30 and men speaking shrewd or wayward things shall rise (up out) of yourselves (or and men speaking depraved things shall rise up from among you), (so) that they lead away (the) disciples after them.
31 For which thing wake ye, holding in mind, (or For which thing be on watch, keeping in mind), that by three years night and day I ceased not, (along) with (my) tears, admonishing each of you.
32 And now I betake you to God and to the word of his grace, that is mighty to edify and give heritage in all that be made holy. (And now I deliver you unto God and unto the word of his grace, that is mighty to edify and to give you an inheritance among all those who be made holy.)
33 And of no man I coveted silver, and gold, either cloth (or cloak),
34 as ye yourselves know; for to those things that were needful to me, and to these that be with me, these hands ministered. (as you yourselves know; for my own hands served, or worked, to acquire those things that were needed by me, and by those who were with me.)
35 All these things I showed to you, for so it behooveth men travailing to receive sick men, and to have mind of the word of the Lord Jesus; for he said, It is more blessful to give, than to receive, or It is more blessed to give, more than to receive. (I showed all of these things to you, because it behooveth all of us who labour, to accept, or to help, the frail or the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus; for he said, It is more blessed to give, than to receive.)
36 And when he had said these things, he kneeled, and prayed with all (of) them.
37 And great weeping of all men was made; and they felled on the neck of Paul, and kissed him,
38 and sorrowed most(ly) in the word that he said, for they shall no more see his face. And (then) they led him to the ship.

Acts 20:28-38 in Young's Literal Translation

28 'Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit made you overseers, to feed the assembly of God that He acquired through His own blood,
29 for I have known this, that there shall enter in, after my departing, grievous wolves unto you, not sparing the flock,
30 and of your own selves there shall arise men, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31 'Therefore, watch, remembering that three years, night and day, I did not cease with tears warning each one;
32 and now, I commend you, brethren, to God, and to the word of His grace, that is able to build up, and to give you an inheritance among all those sanctified.
33 'The silver or gold or garments of no one did I covet;
34 and ye yourselves know that to my necessities, and to those who were with me, minister did these hands;
35 all things I did shew you, that, thus labouring, it behoveth us to partake with the ailing, to be mindful also of the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
36 And these things having said, having bowed his knees, with them all, he did pray,
37 and there came a great weeping to all, and having fallen upon the neck of Paul, they were kissing him,
38 sorrowing most of all for the word that he had said — that they are about no more to see his face; and they were accompanying him to the ship.
