¹⁷ And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called to him the elders of the church.

¹⁸ And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, after what manner I was with you all the time,

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all lowliness of mind, and with tears, and with trials which befell me by the plots of the Jews;

²⁰ how I shrank not from declaring unto you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly, and from house to house,

²¹ testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²² And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

²³ save that the Holy Spirit testifieth unto me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

²⁴ But I hold not my life of any account as dear unto myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁵ And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, shall see my face no more.

²⁶ Wherefore I testify unto you this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

²⁷ For I shrank not from declaring unto you the whole counsel of God.

²⁸ Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.

²⁹ I know that after my departing grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock;

³⁰ and from among your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹ Wherefore watch ye, remembering that by the space of three years I ceased not to admonish every one night and day with tears.

³² And now I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you the inheritance among all them that are sanctified.

³³ I coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.

³⁴ Ye yourselves know that these hands ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

³⁵ In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

¹⁹ Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

²⁰ And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

²¹ Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²² And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

²³ Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁵ And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁶ Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

²⁸ Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

²⁹ For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

³⁰ Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

³² And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

³³ I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.

³⁴ Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

³⁵ I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

¹⁷ When the ship arrived at Miletus, Paul sent a messenger to Ephesus to ask the elders of the congregation to come to talk with him.

¹⁸ When the elders arrived, Paul said to them, “You personally know how I conducted myself among you the entire time that I was with you, from the first day when I arrived here in Asia province until the day I left.

¹⁹ You know how I was serving the Lord Jesus very humbly and how I sometimes wept about people. You also know how I suffered because the Jews SYN who were not believers often tried to harm me.

²⁰ You also know that, as I preached God's message to you, I never left out anything that would help you. You know that I taught you God's message when many people were present, and I also went to your homes and taught it there.

²¹ I preached both to Jews and to non-Jews, telling them all that they must turn away from their sinful behavior. I also told them they should believe in our Lord Jesus.”

²² “And now note this: I am going to Jerusalem, because God's Spirit has clearly shown me that I must go there. I do not know what will happen to me while I am there.

²³ But I do know that in each city where I have stopped, the Holy Spirit has ◄told me/ caused the believers to tell me► that in Jerusalem people will put me in prison PRS and will cause me to suffer PRS.

²⁴ But I do not care even if people kill me, if first I am able to finish the work MET that the Lord Jesus has told me to do. He appointed me to tell people the good message that God saves us by doing for us what we do not deserve.

²⁵ I have preached to you the message about how God desires to rule people's lives. But now I know that today is the last time that you fellow believers will see me SYN.

²⁶ So I want you all to understand that if anyone who has heard me preach dies without trusting in Jesus, it is not my fault MTY,

²⁷ because I told you LIT everything HYP that God has planned for us (inc).

²⁸ You leaders must continue to believe and obey God's message. You must also help all the other believers MET for whom the Holy Spirit has caused you to be responsible MTY. Watch over MET yourselves and the other believers as a shepherd watches over his sheep. God bought them with the blood that flowed from his Son's body on the cross.

²⁹ I know very well that after I leave, people who teach MET false doctrines will come among you and will do great harm to the believers. They will be like fierce wolves that kill sheep.

³⁰ Even in your own group of believers there will be some who will deceive other believers by teaching them messages that are false. They will teach those messages so that some people will believe them and will become their followers.

³¹ So watch out that none of you stops believing the true message about our Lord Jesus. Remember that day and night for about three years I repeatedly taught you that message, and warned you with tears in my eyes not to believe any other message.”

³² “ Now as I leave you, I ask God to protect you and to keep you believing the message that he saves us(inc) by doing for us what we do not deserve. If you continue believing the message that I told you, you will become spiritually mature, and God will give you the blessings that he has promised to give to all of those who belong to him.

³³ As for myself, I have not desired anyone's money MTY or fine clothing.

³⁴ You yourselves know that I have worked with my hands MTY to earn the money that my companions and I needed.

³⁵ In everything that I did, I showed you that we (inc) should work hard in order to have enough money to give some to those who are needy. We (inc) should remember that our Lord Jesus himself said, ‘You are happy when people give you what you need, but God will be happy with you when you give other people what they need.’”

¹⁸ When they had come to him, he said to them, “You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time,

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

²⁰ how I didn’t shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house,

²¹ testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus.

²⁶ Therefore I testify to you today that I am clean from the blood of all men,

²⁷ for I didn’t shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

²⁸ Take heed, therefore, to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood.

²⁹ For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

³⁰ Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹ Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.

³² Now, brothers, I entrust you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

³³ I coveted no one’s silver, gold, or clothing.

³⁴ You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.

³⁵ In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

¹⁷ And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus for the rulers of the church.

¹⁸ And when they had come, he said to them, You yourselves have seen what my life has been like all the time from the day when I first came into Asia,

¹⁹ Doing the Lord's work without pride, through all the sorrow and troubles which came on me because of the evil designs of the Jews:

²⁰ And how I kept back nothing which might be of profit to you, teaching you publicly and privately,

²¹ Preaching to Jews and to Greeks the need for a turning of the heart to God, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

²² And now, as you see, I am going to Jerusalem, a prisoner in spirit, having no knowledge of what will come to me there:

²³ Only that the Holy Spirit makes clear to me in every town that prison and pains are waiting for me.

²⁴ But I put no value on my life, if only at the end of it I may see the work complete which was given to me by the Lord Jesus, to be a witness of the good news of the grace of God.

²⁵ And now I am conscious that you, among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom, will not see my face again.

²⁶ And so I say to you this day that I am clean from the blood of all men.

²⁷ For I have not kept back from you anything of the purpose of God.

²⁸ Give attention to yourselves, and to all the flock which the Holy Spirit has given into your care, to give food to the church of God, for which he gave his blood.

²⁹ I am conscious that after I am gone, evil wolves will come in among you, doing damage to the flock;

³⁰ And from among yourselves will come men who will give wrong teaching, turning away the disciples after them.

³¹ So keep watch, having in mind that for three years without resting I was teaching every one of you, day and night, with weeping.

³² And now, I give you into the care of God and the word of his grace, which is able to make you strong and to give you your heritage among all the saints.

³³ I have had no desire for any man's silver or gold or clothing.

³⁴ You yourselves have seen that with these hands I got what was necessary for me and those who were with me.

³⁵ In all things I was an example to you of how, in your lives, you are to give help to the feeble, and keep in memory the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, There is a greater blessing in giving than in getting.

¹⁷ But from Miletus having sent to Ephesus, he called over to him the elders of the assembly.

¹⁸ And when they were come to him, he said to them, Ye know how I was with you all the time from the first day that I arrived in Asia,

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all lowliness, and tears, and temptations, which happened to me through the plots of the Jews;

²⁰ how I held back nothing of what is profitable, so as not to announce it to you, and to teach you publicly and in every house,

²¹ testifying to both Jews and Greeks repentance towards God, and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ.

²² And now, behold, bound in my spirit I go to Jerusalem, not knowing what things shall happen to me in it;

²³ only that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city, saying that bonds and tribulations await me.

²⁴ But I make no account of my life as dear to myself, so that I finish my course, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the glad tidings of the grace of God.

²⁵ And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁶ Wherefore I witness to you this day, that I am clean from the blood of all,

²⁷ for I have not shrunk from announcing to you all the counsel of God.

²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, wherein the Holy Spirit has set you as overseers, to shepherd the assembly of God, which he has purchased with the blood of his own.

²⁹ For I know this, that there will come in amongst you after my departure grievous wolves, not sparing the flock;

³⁰ and from among your own selves shall rise up men speaking perverted things to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹ Wherefore watch, remembering that for three years, night and day, I ceased not admonishing each one of you with tears.

³² And now I commit you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and give to you an inheritance among all the sanctified.

³³ I have coveted the silver or gold or clothing of no one.

³⁴ Yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my wants, and to those who were with me.

³⁵ I have shewed you all things, that thus labouring we ought to come in aid of the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

¹⁷ And sending from Miletus to Ephesus, he called the ancients of the church.

¹⁸ And when they were come to him, and were together, he said to them: You know from the first day that I came into Asia, in what manner I have been with you, for all the time,

¹⁹ Serving the Lord with all humility, and with tears, and temptations which befell me by the conspiracies of the Jews;

²⁰ How I have kept back nothing that was profitable to you, but have preached it to you, and taught you publicly, and from house to house,

²¹ Testifying both to Jews and Gentiles penance towards God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

²² And now, behold, being bound in the spirit, I go to Jerusalem: not knowing the things which shall befall me there:

²³ Save that the Holy Ghost in every city witnesseth to me, saying: That bands and afflictions wait for me at Jerusalem.

²⁴ But I fear none of these things, neither do I count my life more precious than myself, so that I may consummate my course and the ministry of the word which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁵ And now behold, I know that all you, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁶ Wherefore I take you to witness this day, that I am clear from the blood of all men;

²⁷ For I have not spared to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

²⁸ Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

²⁹ I know that, after my departure, ravening wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

³⁰ And of your own selves shall arise men speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

³¹ Therefore watch, keeping in memory, that for three years I ceased not, with tears to admonish every one of you night and day.

³² And now I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, who is able to build up, and to give an inheritance among all the sanctified.

³³ I have not coveted any man’s silver, gold, or apparel, as

³⁴ You yourselves know: for such things as were needful for me and them that are with me, these hands have furnished.

³⁵ I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, how he said: It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.

¹⁷ Now from Miletus, having sent to Ephesus, he summoned the elders of the church.

¹⁸ And when they were present with him, he said to them: “You know from the first day which I arrived in Asia, how I was with you the whole time,

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility, and with many tears and trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

²⁰ how I kept back nothing that was profitable, but declared it to you, teaching you publicly and from house to house,

²¹ solemnly bearing witness to both Jews and to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus.

²² And now behold, I, having been bound in the spirit, am going to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,

²³ except that the Holy Spirit in every city is solemnly bearing witness, saying that bonds and tribulations are waiting for me.

²⁴ But I count myself as nothing; nor do I regard my life as valuable to myself, so that I may complete my course with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to bear solemn testimony to the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁵ “And now behold, now I know that you all, among whom I have passed through preaching the kingdom of God, will no longer see my face.

²⁶ Therefore I testify to you this very day, that I am innocent of all blood.

²⁷ For I did not draw back from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

²⁸ Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of the Lord, and of God, which He purchased with His own blood.

²⁹ For I know this, that savage wolves will come in after my departure, not sparing the flock.

³⁰ Also from among you yourselves will arise men speaking things having been distorted, in order to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹ Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years, night and day I did not cease, with tears, exhorting each one.

³² “So for the present, I entrust you, brothers, to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who have been sanctified.

³³ I have coveted the silver or gold or clothes of no one.

³⁴ You yourselves know that these hands have rendered service to my needs, and those who were with me.

³⁵ By all things I have shown you, that thus laboring it is necessary to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

¹⁷ From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and summoned the elders of the congregation.

¹⁸ So when they had come to him he said to them: “You yourselves know, from the first day that I arrived in Asia, how I lived the whole time I was with you,

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility, and with many tears and trials, the ones that happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

²⁰ how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house,

²¹ solemnly proclaiming to both Jews and Greeks the repentance toward God and the faith into our Lord Jesus.

²² Now then, I am going to Jerusalem bound in my spirit, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,

²³ except that the Holy Spirit keeps warning me in every city, saying that fetters and afflictions are just waiting for me.

²⁴ However none of this moves me, nor do I regard my life as valuable to myself, just so that I may complete my course with joy, even the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to solemnly proclaim the Good News of the grace of God.

²⁵ “Furthermore, I know that none of you among whom I have gone about proclaiming the Kingdom of God will ever see my face again.

²⁶ Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all;

²⁷ because I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

²⁸ So take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has placed you as overseers, to shepherd the congregation of the Lord and God which He purchased with His own blood.

²⁹ Because I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

³⁰ Yes, men will rise up from among you yourselves, speaking distorted things, to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹ Therefore be alert, remembering that during three years, night and day, I never stopped admonishing each one, with tears.

³² “And so now, brothers, I entrust you to God and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all those who have been sanctified.

³³ I have not coveted anyone's silver or gold or clothing.

³⁴ You yourselves know that these hands have supplied my own needs, and of those who were with me.

³⁵ In every way I showed you that working hard like this it is necessary to help the weak, and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

¹⁷ From Miletus Paul sent a message to the elders of the church in Ephesus.

¹⁸ When they arrived, he told them, “You know how I always behaved while I was with you from the first day I arrived in the province of Asia.

¹⁹ I served the Lord in humility and in tears. I put up with the troubles and stress caused by the plots of the Jews.

²⁰ However, I never held back from sharing with you anything that would be to your benefit, and I taught you in public, going from house to house.

²¹ I witnessed both to Jews and Greeks that it was essential to repent and turn to God, and to trust in our Lord Jesus Christ.

²² Now the Spirit is insisting that I go to Jerusalem, and I have no idea what will happen to me there.

²³ All I know is that in every city I visit the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and suffering are waiting for me.

²⁴ But I don't consider my life as worth anything to me. I only want to finish my mission and the ministry that the Lord Jesus gave to me, to witness to the good news of the grace of God.

²⁵ Now I am certain that you will not see my face again, you among whom I shared the news of the kingdom.

²⁶ So I declare to you today that I am not responsible if anyone is lost.

²⁷ I didn't hesitate to tell you everything God wants you to know.

²⁸ Take care of yourselves and of all the flock, which the Holy Spirit has given to you to supervise. Feed the Lord's church which he bought with his own blood.

²⁹ I know that after I leave vicious wolves will come among you, and won't spare the flock.

³⁰ From among your own group men will rise up perverting what is right and good so they can lead believers to follow them.

³¹ So watch out! Don't forget that for three years I went on instructing all of you night and day, often crying over you.

³² Now I commit you in God's care and to the message of his grace, which is able to build you up and provide you with the inheritance that belongs to all who are kept right with him.

³³ I never had any desire for anyone's silver or gold or clothing.

³⁴ You know that I worked with my own hands to provide for my own needs, as well as for those who were with me.

³⁵ I have given you an example in everything: work to help those who are weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

²⁰ And how I kept backe nothing that was profitable, but haue shewed you, and taught you openly and throughout euery house,

²¹ Witnessing both to the Iewes, and to the Grecians the repentance towarde God, and faith toward our Lord Iesus Christ.

²² And nowe beholde, I goe bound in the Spirit vnto Hierusalem, and know not what things shall come vnto me there,

²³ Saue that ye holy Ghost witnesseth in euery citie, saying, that bondes and afflictions abide me.

²⁴ But I passe not at all, neither is my life deare vnto my selfe, so that I may fulfill my course with ioye, and the ministration which I haue receiued of the Lord Iesus, to testifie the Gospell of the grace of God.

²⁵ And now behold, I know that henceforth ye all, through whome I haue gone preaching the kingdome of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁶ Wherefore I take you to recorde this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

²⁷ For I haue kept nothing backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God.

²⁸ Take heede therefore vnto your selues, and to all the flocke, whereof the holy Ghost hath made you Ouerseers, to feede the Church of God, which hee hath purchased with that his owne blood.

²⁹ For I knowe this, that after my departing shall grieuous wolues enter in among you, not sparing the flocke.

³⁰ Moreouer of your owne selues shall men arise speaking peruerse thinges, to drawe disciples after them.

³¹ Therefore watche, and remember, that by the space of three yeres I ceased not to warne euery one, both night and day with teares.

³² And nowe brethren, I commend you to God, and to the worde of his grace, which is able to build further, and to giue you an inheritance, among all them, which are sanctified.

²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁵ And now behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁰ I never shrank from telling you anything that could be helpful to you, or from teaching you both in public and in private.

²¹ I earnestly pointed both Jews and Greeks to the repentance that leads to God, and to faith in Jesus, our Lord.

²² And now, under spiritual constraint, I am here on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,

²³ except that in town after town the Holy Spirit plainly declares to me that imprisonment and troubles await me.

²⁴ But I count my life of no value to myself, if only I may complete the course marked out for me, and the task that was allotted me by the Lord Jesus — which was to declare the good news of the love of God.

²⁵ And now, I tell you, I know that none of you will ever see my face again — you amongst whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom.

²⁶ Therefore I declare to you this day, that my conscience is clear in regard to the fate of any of you,

²⁷ for I have not shrunk from announcing the whole purpose of God regarding you.

²⁸ Be watchful over yourselves, and over the whole flock, of which the Holy Spirit has placed you in charge, to shepherd the church of God, which he won for himself at the cost of his life.

²⁹ I know that, after my departure, merciless wolves will get in amongst you, who will not spare the flock;

³⁰ and from amongst yourselves, too, people will arise, who will teach perversions of truth, so as to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹ Therefore, be on your guard, remembering how for three years, night and day, I never ceased, even with tears, to warn each one of you.

³² And now I commend you to the Lord and to the message of his love — a message which has the power to build up your characters, and to give you your place amongst all those who have become Christ's people.

³³ I have never coveted anyone's gold or silver or clothing.

³⁴ You, yourselves, know that these hands of mine provided not only for my own wants, but for my companions also.

³⁵ I left nothing undone to show you that, labouring as I laboured, you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said himself — ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

¹⁷ So after the ship arrived at Miletus, Paul sent a message to Ephesus to get the church leaders to come to talk with him at the ship.

¹⁸ After they got there, Paul talked to them. He said, “Each one of you knows the good way I lived, all the time that I was here with you in Asia country, from the first day that I was here until the day I left.

¹⁹ You know the way I worked for our leader, Jesus. I didn’t try to make myself important, and I sometimes cried about people. You know that some of the Jews here tried to hurt me.

²⁰ And you know that I told you all of God’s message, everything that will help you. I didn’t keep anything secret. I taught you God’s message in places where everyone heard me, and I taught you in your homes too.

²¹ I talked to everyone. I talked to Jewish people and to people that are not Jews. I told all of them, ‘You have to turn to God and stop doing bad things, and believe in our leader Jesus.’”

²² Paul kept talking to them He said, “And now I want to tell you this. God’s spirit clearly showed me that I have to go to Jerusalem, so I’m going there. I don’t know what will happen to me at Jerusalem.

²³ But I do know that in each town I went to, the Holy Spirit told me that the people in Jerusalem will hurt me and put me in prison.

²⁴ But I will keep going to Jerusalem. I want to finish the work that our leader Jesus told me to do. I have to tell people the good news that God is good to us, and he saves us. I really don’t care about myself, even if they kill me, so long as I can tell them that good news.

²⁵ I went all around your country and told you how to join God’s family. And now I know that none of you will see me again.

²⁶ So I want you all to understand that if any of you doesn’t end up in God’s family, you can’t blame me.

²⁷ I told all of you everything that God wants to do for you.

²⁸ Now you leaders have to watch out for yourselves, and watch out for God’s people here too. Make sure you keep on following Jesus properly, and help all God’s people to follow him properly too. The Holy Spirit picked you to be their leaders, so look after them properly. Remember, God bought his people with the blood of his own son.

²⁹ I know that after I go away from here, other people will come to you and they will teach you lies. They will try to trick all of God’s people. They will be like cheeky dingoes that kill sheep. Even in your own group of Christians, some men will get up and trick other Christians. They will change the true story and tell it wrong, so they can get people to follow them.

³¹ So watch out. Make sure each one of you keeps on believing the true story about Jesus. Remember, I was here with you for 3 years, and for all that time I always told you not to believe a different message. And if I thought you were going wrong, I even cried about you.”

³² Paul kept on talking. He said, “Now I’m asking God to keep you safe, and to keep you believing the true message that God is very good to you and will save you. If you keep on believing that message you will grow strong spiritually. You will know you are in God’s family, and God will give you the good things he is keeping for his own people.

³³ Listen, you mob know me. Do you remember that way I lived with you? I showed you the right way for a Christian to live. I never wanted to get anyone’s money or good clothes. I always worked with my hands to get the money that I needed, and to get money for my friends, too.

³⁵ I did everything in a way that showed you that we all have to work hard to get enough money, not just for ourselves, but to give some to people that are short of the things they need. We have to remember that our leader is Jesus, and he said, ‘If people give things to you, that can make you a bit happy. But if you give things to other people you will be properly happy.’”

¹⁷ Wherfore from Myleton he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the congregacion.

¹⁸ And when they were come to him he sayde vnto the: Ye knowe from the fyrst daye that I came vnto Asia after what maner I have bene with you at all ceasons

¹⁹ servynge the lorde with all humblenes of mynde and with many teares and temptacions which happened vnto me by the layinges awayte of the Ieues

²⁹ For I am sure of this that after my departynge shall greveous wolves entre in amonge you which will not spare the flocke.

³⁰ Moreover of youre awne selves shall men aryse speakinge perverse thinges to drawe disciples after them.

³¹ Therfore awake and remember that by the space of .iii. yeares I ceased not to warne every one of you both nyght and daye with teares.

²⁴ But I do not consider my life is valuable to myself, if only I may finish the race and complete the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁵ And now behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.

²⁶ Wherefore I call you to witness this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men .

²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God.

²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

³⁰ Also from your own selves will men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

³² And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them who are sanctified.

³³ I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

³⁴ And ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered to my necessities, and to them that were with me.

³⁵ I have shown you all things, that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

¹⁷ From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called to himself the elders of the assembly.

¹⁸ When they had come to him, he said to them, “You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time,

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

²⁰ how I didn’t shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house,

²¹ testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Yeshua.

²² Now, behold, I go bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there;

²³ except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me.

²⁴ But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Yeshua, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.

¹⁹ serving to the Lord with all meekness, and mildness, and tears, and temptations, that felled to me of ambushings of Jews;

²⁰ how I withdrew not or nought of profitable things to you, that I told not to you, and taught you openly, and by houses;

²¹ and I witnessed to Jews and to heathen men penance into God, and faith into our Lord Jesus Christ.

²² And now lo! I am bound in spirit, and go into Jerusalem; and I know not what things shall come to me in it,

²³ but that the Holy Ghost by all cities witnesseth to me, and saith, that bonds and tribulations at Jerusalem abide me.

²⁴ But I dread nothing of these, neither I make my life preciouser than myself, so that I end, or fulfill, my course, and the ministry of the word, which I received of the Lord Jesus, to witness the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁷ For I fled or flew not away, that I told not to you all the counsel of God.

²⁸ Take ye attention to you, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Ghost hath set or hath put you, bishops to rule the church of God, which he purchased with his blood.

²⁹ I know, that after my departing, ravening wolves shall enter into you, not sparing the flock;

³⁰ and men speaking shrewd or wayward things shall rise of your-selves, that they lead away disciples after them.

³¹ For which thing wake ye, holding in mind, that by three years night and day I ceased not, with tears, admon-ishing each of you.

³² And now I betake you to God and to the word of his grace, that is mighty to edify and give heritage in all that be made holy.

³³ And of no man I coveted silver, and gold, either cloth,

³⁴ as ye yourselves know; for to those things that were needful to me, and to these that be with me, these hands ministered.

³⁵ All these things I showed to you, for so it behooveth men travailing to receive sick men, and to have mind of the word of the Lord Jesus; for he said, It is more blessful or more blessed to give, than to receive.

¹⁹ serving to the Lord with all meekness, and mildness, and tears, and temptations, that felled to me of (the) ambushings of (the) Jews; (serving the Lord with all humility, amid the tears, and tests, that came to me from the ambushing of the Jews;)

²⁰ how I withdrew not or nought of profitable things to you, that I told not to you, and taught you openly, and by houses; (how I kept nothing profitable from you, yea, that I did not tell you, but rather, I taught you openly, or in public, and also in your homes;)

²¹ and I witnessed to Jews and to heathen men penance into God, and faith into our Lord Jesus Christ. (and I testified to Jews and to Gentiles alike, the need for repentance unto God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.)

²² And now lo! I am bound in spirit, and go into Jerusalem; and I know not what things shall come to me in it,

²³ no but that the Holy Ghost by all cities witnesseth to me, and saith, that bonds and tribulations at Jerusalem abide me. (except that the Holy Spirit in every city testifieth to me, that bondage, or imprisonment, and troubles await me in Jerusalem.)

²⁴ But I dread nothing of these, neither I make my life preciouser than myself, so that I end, or fulfill, my course, and the ministry of the word, which I received of the Lord Jesus, to witness the gospel of the grace of God. (But I fear none of that, nor do I make my life of any great value, I only desire that I fulfill my course, and the ministry of the word, which I received from the Lord Jesus, yea, to testify to the Gospel, or the Good News, of the grace of God.)

²⁵ And now lo! I know, that ye shall no more see my face, all ye by which I passed (or all ye of whom I have been among), preaching the kingdom of God.

²⁶ Wherefore I witness to you this day (or And so I testify to you this day), that I am clean of the blood of all men.

²⁷ For I fled not away or For I flew not away, that I told not to you all the counsel of God. (For I did not fly away, or hold anything back, so that I did not tell you all of God’s plans.)

²⁸ Take ye attention to you(rselves), and to all (of) the flock, in which the Holy Ghost hath set you, or hath put you, (as) bishops (or among whom the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers), to rule the church of God, which he purchased with his blood.

³⁰ and men speaking shrewd or wayward things shall rise (up out) of yourselves (or and men speaking depraved things shall rise up from among you), (so) that they lead away (the) disciples after them.

³¹ For which thing wake ye, holding in mind, (or For which thing be on watch, keeping in mind), that by three years night and day I ceased not, (along) with (my) tears, admonishing each of you.

³² And now I betake you to God and to the word of his grace, that is mighty to edify and give heritage in all that be made holy. (And now I deliver you unto God and unto the word of his grace, that is mighty to edify and to give you an inheritance among all those who be made holy.)

³³ And of no man I coveted silver, and gold, either cloth (or cloak),

³⁴ as ye yourselves know; for to those things that were needful to me, and to these that be with me, these hands ministered. (as you yourselves know; for my own hands served, or worked, to acquire those things that were needed by me, and by those who were with me.)

³⁵ All these things I showed to you, for so it behooveth men travailing to receive sick men, and to have mind of the word of the Lord Jesus; for he said, It is more blessful to give, than to receive, or It is more blessed to give, more than to receive. (I showed all of these things to you, because it behooveth all of us who labour, to accept, or to help, the frail or the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus; for he said, It is more blessed to give, than to receive.)

¹⁷ And from Miletus, having sent to Ephesus, he called for the elders of the assembly,

¹⁸ and when they were come unto him, he said to them, 'Ye — ye know from the first day in which I came to Asia, how, with you at all times I was;

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility, and many tears, and temptations, that befell me in the counsels of the Jews against me;

²⁰ how nothing I did keep back of what things are profitable, not to declare to you, and to teach you publicly, and in every house,

²¹ testifying fully both to Jews and Greeks, toward God reformation, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²² 'And now, lo, I — bound in the Spirit — go on to Jerusalem, the things that shall befall me in it not knowing,

²³ save that the Holy Spirit in every city doth testify fully, saying, that for me bonds and tribulations remain;

²⁴ but I make account of none of these, neither do I count my life precious to myself, so that I finish my course with joy, and the ministration that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify fully the good news of the grace of God.

²⁵ 'And now, lo, I have known that no more shall ye see my face, — ye all among whom I did go preaching the reign of God;

²⁶ wherefore I take you to witness this day, that I am clear from the blood of all,

²⁷ for I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

³² and now, I commend you, brethren, to God, and to the word of His grace, that is able to build up, and to give you an inheritance among all those sanctified.

³³ 'The silver or gold or garments of no one did I covet;

³⁴ and ye yourselves know that to my necessities, and to those who were with me, minister did these hands;

³⁵ all things I did shew you, that, thus labouring, it behoveth us to partake with the ailing, to be mindful also of the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
