Acts 19:40-41 in English

⁴⁰ For indeed we are in danger to be accused concerning this day’s riot, there being no cause for it: and as touching it we shall not be able to give account of this concourse.

⁴¹ And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.

Resolve this legally because, if we(inc) do not, I am afraid that the governor will hear about all this noise that you have made and will say that we (inc) were trying to rebel against the government. ⁴¹ That is what the city secretary said to the crowd. Then he told them all to go home. So they left.

⁴⁰ Indeed, we are in danger of being charged with a riot, because of today, there being no reason at all that we can give to account for this commotion.”

⁴⁰ In fact we ourselves are in danger of being accused of being responsible for this riot today, since there was no reason for it, and we can't justify why it happened.”

⁴¹ When he had finished speaking, he dismissed the crowd.

⁴⁰ For we are euen in ieopardie to be accused of this dayes sedition, for as much as there is no cause, whereby we may giue a reason of this concourse of people.
