Acts 19:3-4 in English

³ And he said, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John’s baptism.

⁴ And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him that should come after him, that is, on Jesus.

³ And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

⁴ Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

³ And he said, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John’s baptism.

⁴ And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Jesus.

³ So Paul asked, “So when you were baptized, what were you showing?” They replied, “ We were showing that we (exc) believed what John the Baptizer taught.”

⁴ Paul said, “John baptized people who turned away from their sinful behavior. He also told the people to believe in the one who would come after he had come, and that was Jesus.”

³ He said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.”

⁴ Paul said, “John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”

³ He said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.”

⁴ Paul said, “John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”

³ He said, “Into what then were you baptised?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.”

⁴ Paul said, “John indeed baptised with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”

³ And he said, What sort of baptism did you have? And they said, The baptism of John.

⁴ And Paul said, John gave a baptism which goes with a change of heart, saying to the people that they were to have faith in him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.

³ And he said, To what then were ye baptised? And they said, To the baptism of John.

⁴ And Paul said, John indeed baptised with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on him that was coming after him, that is, on Jesus.

³ And he said: In what then were you baptized? Who said: In John’s baptism.

⁴ Then Paul said: John baptized the people with the baptism of penance, saying: That they should believe in him who was to come after him, that is to say, in Jesus.

³ And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John's baptism.”

⁴ But Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the One coming after him, that is, in Christ Jesus.”

³ So he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John's baptism.”

⁴ So Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe into the One who would come after him, that is, into Jesus, the Christ.”

³ “So what baptism did you receive?” he asked. “John's baptism,” they replied.

⁴ “John baptized with the baptism of repentance,” said Paul. He told the people that they should trust in the one who would come after him—that is, they should trust in Jesus.

³ And he said vnto them, Vnto what were ye then baptized? And they saide, Vnto Iohns baptisme.

⁴ Then saide Paul, Iohn verely baptized with the baptisme of repentance, saying vnto the people, that they shoulde beleeue in him, which should come after him, that is, in Christ Iesus.

³ And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

⁴ Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

³ And he said, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John's baptism.

⁴ Then said Paul, John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people, that they should believe on him that was coming after him; that is, on Jesus.

³ “What then was your baptism?” Paul asked.

⁴ “John's baptism was a baptism on repentance,” rejoined Paul, “and John told the people (speaking of the ‘one coming’ after him) that they should believe in him — that is in Jesus.”

³ “What then was your baptism?” Paul asked.

⁴ “John's baptism was a baptism on repentance,” rejoined Paul, “and John told the people (speaking of the ‘one coming’ after him) that they should believe in him — that is in Jesus.”

³ So Paul asked them, “Who baptised you, and why did he do it?” They said, “John the Baptiser is the one that baptised us, and he did it to show we were sorry for doing wrong.”

⁴ Paul said, “John baptised people that turned away from doing bad things. But he also told the people to believe in the man that was coming after him. That man is Jesus.”

³ And he sayd vnto them: wher with were ye then baptised? And they sayd: with Iohns baptism

⁴ Then sayde Paul: Iohn verely baptised with the baptism of repentaunce sayinge vnto the people that they shuld beleve on him which shuld come after him: that is on Christ Iesus.

³ Paul said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John's baptism.”

⁴ So Paul replied, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance. He told the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”

³ He said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.”

⁴ Paul said, “John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”

³ He said, “Into what then were you baptised?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.”

⁴ Paul said, “John indeed baptised with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”

³ And he said to them, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John's baptism.

⁴ Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people, That they should believe on him who should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

³ He said, “Into what then were you immersed?” They said, “Into Yochanan’s immersion.”

⁴ Paul said, “Yochanan indeed immersed with the immersion of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Yeshua.”

³ He said, “Into what then were you immersed?” They said, “Into Yochanan’s immersion.”

⁴ Paul said, “Yochanan indeed immersed with the immersion of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Yeshua.”

³ And he said, Therefore in what thing be ye baptized? And they said, In the baptism of John.

⁴ And Paul said, John baptized the people in the baptism of penance, and taught, that they should believe in him that was to coming or to come after him, that is, in Jesus.

³ And he said, Therefore in what thing be ye baptized? And they said, In the baptism of John.

⁴ And Paul said, John baptized the people in the baptism of penance (or John baptized the people with a baptism of repentance), and taught, that they should believe in him that was to coming after him, or and taught, that they should believe into him that was to come after him, that is, in Jesus.

³ and he said unto them, 'To what, then, were ye baptized?' and they said, 'To John's baptism.'

⁴ And Paul said, 'John, indeed, did baptize with a baptism of reformation, saying to the people that in him who is coming after him they should believe — that is, in the Christ — Jesus;'
