¹⁵ But they that conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timothy that they should come to him with all speed, they departed.

¹⁶ Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he beheld the city full of idols.

¹⁷ So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with them that met him.

¹⁵ And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

¹⁶ Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

¹⁷ Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

¹⁵ But they that conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timothy that they should come to him with all speed, they departed.

¹⁶ Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him, as he beheld the city full of idols.

¹⁷ So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with them that met with him.

¹⁵ When Paul and the other men from Berea arrived at the coast, they got on a ship and went to Athens city. Then Paul said to the men who had come with him, “Tell Silas and Timothy to come to me here in Athens as soon as they can.” Then those men left Athens and returned to Berea.

¹⁶ In Athens, Paul waited for Silas and Timothy to arrive. In the meantime, he walked around in the city. He became very distressed/disturbed because he saw that throughout HYP the city there were many idols.

¹⁷ So he went to the Jewish meeting place and talked about Jesus with the Jews, and also with the Greeks who had accepted what the Jews believe. He also went to the public square/center every day and talked to the people whom he met there.

¹⁵ But those who escorted Paul brought him as far as Athens. Receiving a commandment to Silas and Timothy that they should come to him very quickly, they departed.

¹⁶ Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw the city full of idols.

¹⁷ So he had discussions in the Synagogue with the Jews and God-fearing Gentiles, and every day in the market-place with those who were there.

¹⁵ But they that conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens; and, having received a commandment to Silas and Timotheus, that they should come to him as quickly as possible, they departed.

¹⁶ But in Athens, while Paul was waiting for them, his spirit was painfully excited in him seeing the city given up to idolatry.

¹⁷ He reasoned therefore in the synagogue with the Jews, and those who worshipped, and in the market-place every day with those he met with.

¹⁵ And they that conducted Paul, brought him as far as Athens; and receiving a commandment from him to Silas and Timothy, that they should come to him with all speed, they departed.

¹⁶ Now whilst Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred within him, seeing the city wholly given to idolatry.

¹⁷ He disputed, therefore, in the synagogue with the Jews, and with them that served God, and in the marketplace, every day with them that were there.

¹⁵ Now those who escorted Paul brought him to Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy, that as quickly as possible they should come to him, they departed.

¹⁶ And in Athens, while Paul waited for them, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was full of idols.

¹⁷ Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshipers, and in the marketplace daily with those coming by.

¹⁵ But those who were conducting Paul actually took him all the way to Athens; and receiving a command to Silas and Timothy that they should come to him as quickly as possible, they started back.

¹⁶ Now while Paul was waiting for them in Athens, his spirit was increasingly aroused within him as he observed that the city was full of idols.

¹⁷ So he reasoned both in the synagogue with the Jews and devout persons, and in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there.

¹⁵ Those escorting Paul took him as far as Athens, and then returned with instructions from Paul to Silas and Timothy that they should join him there as soon as possible.

¹⁶ While Paul was waiting for them in Athens he was very troubled to see all the idolatry in the city.

¹⁷ He debated in the synagogue with the Jews and those who worshiped God, as well as in the marketplace with those he happened to meet from day to day.

¹⁵ And they that did conduct Paul, brought him vnto Athens: and when they had receiued a commandement vnto Silas and Timotheus that they shoulde come to him at once, they departed.

¹⁶ Nowe while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirite was stirred in him, when hee sawe the citie subiect to idolatrie.

¹⁷ Therefore he disputed in the Synagogue with the Iewes, and with them that were religious, and in the market daily with whomesoeuer he met.

¹⁵ And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

¹⁶ Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

¹⁷ So he argued in the synagogue with the Jews and with those who joined in their worship, as well as daily in the public Square with those who happened to be there.

¹⁵ The friends who escorted Paul took him as far as Athens, and, after receiving a message for Silas and Timothy to join him as quickly as possible, they started on their return.

¹⁶ While Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his heart was stirred at seeing the whole city full of idols.

¹⁷ So he argued in the synagogue with the Jews and with those who joined in their worship, as well as daily in the public Square with those who happened to be there.

¹⁵ Then Paul said to the men that took him to Athens, “As soon as you get back to Berea tell Silas and Timothy to come to me here. Tell them to hurry and come here as soon as they can.” Then those men left Athens and went back to Berea.

¹⁶ Paul was in Athens waiting for Silas and Timothy to come, and he walked around in that town. He saw a lot of statues everywhere, and he saw that people thought they were gods. They respected them and prayed to them. This upset Paul a lot.

¹⁷ So every day he went to the Jewish meeting house and talked with the people there about Jesus. Some of those people were Jews, and some were Greeks that believed in God. And Paul went to the place in the middle of the town where there were a lot of people, and he talked about Jesus to the people that he met there.

¹⁵ And they that gyded Paul brought him vnto Attens and receaved a commaundment vnto Sylas and Timotheus for to come to him at once and came their waye.

¹⁶ Whyll Paul wayted for them at Attens his sprete was moved in him to se the cite geven to worshippinge of ymages.

¹⁷ Then he disputed in the synagoge with the Iewes and with the devout persones and in the market dayly with the that came vnto him.

¹⁵ Those who were leading Paul took him as far as the city of Athens. As they left Paul there, they received from him instructions for Silas and Timothy to come to him as quickly as possible.

¹⁶ Now while Paul was waiting for them in Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw the city full of idols.

¹⁷ So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and others who worshiped God, as well as in the marketplace with those who happened to be there.

¹⁶ And while Paul abode them at Athens, his spirit was moved in him, for he saw the city given to idolatry.

¹⁷ Therefore he disputed in the synagogue with the Jews, and with men that worshipped God, and in the doom place or the chapping, by all days to them that heard.

¹⁵ And they that led forth Paul, led him to Athens. And when they had taken a commandment of him to Silas and Timothy (or And when they had received an order from him for Silas and Timothy), that full hieingly they should come to him, they went forth.

¹⁶ And while Paul abode them at Athens (or And while Paul waited for them in Athens), his spirit was moved in him, for he saw the city given to idolatry.

¹⁷ Therefore he disputed in the synagogue with the Jews, and with men that worshipped God, and in the doom place, or in the chapping, by all days to them that heard. (And so he disputed in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the men who worshipped God, and also in the city square, or at the market, every day with all those who would listen.)

¹⁵ And those conducting Paul, brought him unto Athens, and having received a command unto Silas and Timotheus that with all speed they may come unto him, they departed;

¹⁶ and Paul waiting for them in Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, beholding the city wholly given to idolatry,

¹⁷ therefore, indeed, he was reasoning in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the worshipping persons, and in the market-place every day with those who met with him.
