²⁶ and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison-house were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened; and every one’s bands were loosed.

²⁷ And the jailor, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.

²⁸ But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

²⁹ And he called for lights and sprang in, and, trembling for fear, fell down before Paul and Silas,

³⁰ and brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house.

³² And they spake the word of the Lord unto him, with all that were in his house.

³³ And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, immediately.

³⁴ And he brought them up into his house, and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, with all his house, having believed in God.

³⁵ But when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

³⁶ And the jailor reported the words to Paul, saying, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore come forth, and go in peace.

³⁷ But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men that are Romans, and have cast us into prison; and do they now cast us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and bring us out.

²⁷ And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

²⁹ Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

³⁰ And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

²⁶ Suddenly there was a very strong earthquake. It shook the entire jail SYN and its foundation SYN. The earthquake caused all the doors of the jail to open suddenly, and caused all the chains that fastened the prisoners to fall off.

²⁷ The jailer woke up and saw that the doors of the jail were open. He thought that the prisoners had escaped. So he pulled out his sword in order to kill himself, because he knew that the officials would kill him if the prisoners escaped.

²⁸ Paul saw the jailer and shouted to him, “Do not harm yourself! We (exc) prisoners are all here!”

²⁹ The jailer shouted to someone to bring torches/lanterns, and after they brought them, he rushed into the jail and knelt down in front of Paul and Silas. He was very afraid, so much so that he was trembling/shaking.

³⁰ Then he brought Paul and Silas out of the jail and asked: “Sirs, what do I need to do to be saved from being punished for my sins?”

³¹ They answered, “Trust in what the Lord Jesus has done for you, and you will be saved { God will save you}, and the others who live in MTY your house will also be saved if they believe in Jesus.”

³² Then the jailer took Paul and Silas into his house, washed their wounds, and gave them a meal. He woke up all the people in his house, and Paul and Silas told all of them the message about the Lord Jesus. They all believed in him. Immediately after that, the jailer and all his family were baptized { Paul and Silas baptized the jailer and all his family}. They were very happy, because now they all believed in God.

³⁵ The next morning, the Roman officials commanded some police officers to go to the jail to say to the jailer, “ Our bosses say, ‘Let those two prisoners go now!’”

³⁶ After the officers went and told that to the jailer, he went and told Paul, “The Roman authorities have sent a message (sg) saying that I should release you (sg) and Silas from prison. So you two can leave the jail now. Now you can go peacefully!”

³⁷ But Paul said to the police officers, “The authorities commanded men to beat us in front of a crowd before those authorities had learned if we (exc) had done anything wrong! Then they ordered men to shove us into jail! But that was not legal, because we (exc) are Roman citizens! And now they want RHQ to send us away secretly! We will not accept that! Those Roman officials must come themselves and tell us that they are sorry, and take us out of jail.”

²⁷ And the keeper, coming out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, took his sword and was about to put himself to death, fearing that the prisoners had got away.

²⁸ But Paul said in a loud voice, Do yourself no damage, for we are all here.

²⁹ And he sent for lights and came rushing in and, shaking with fear, went down on his face before Paul and Silas,

³⁰ And took them out and said, Sirs, what have I to do to get salvation?

³¹ And they said, Have faith in the Lord Jesus, and you and your family will have salvation.

³² And they gave the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.

³³ And that same hour of the night, he took them, and when he had given attention to their wounds, he and all his family had baptism straight away.

³⁴ And he took them into his house and gave them food, and he was full of joy, having faith in God with all his family.

³⁵ But when it was day, the authorities sent the police, saying, Let these men go.

³⁶ And the keeper said to Paul, The authorities have given orders to let you go: come out now, and go in peace.

³⁷ But Paul said to them, They have given us who are Romans a public whipping without judging us, and have put us in prison. Will they now send us out secretly? no, truly, let them come themselves and take us out.

²⁶ And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison shook, and all the doors were immediately opened, and the bonds of all loosed.

²⁷ And the jailor being awakened out of his sleep, and seeing the doors of the prison opened, having drawn a sword was going to kill himself, thinking the prisoners had fled.

²⁸ But Paul called out with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm, for we are all here.

²⁹ And having asked for lights, he rushed in, and, trembling, fell down before Paul and Silas.

³⁰ And leading them out said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved?

³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house.

³³ And he took them the same hour of the night and washed them from their stripes; and was baptised, he and all his straightway.

³⁴ And having brought them into his house he laid the table for them, and rejoiced with all his house, having believed in God.

³⁵ And when it was day, the praetors sent the lictors, saying, Let those men go.

³⁶ And the jailor reported these words to Paul: The praetors have sent that ye may be let go. Now therefore go out and depart in peace.

³⁷ But Paul said to them, Having beaten us publicly uncondemned, us who are Romans, they have cast us into prison, and now they thrust us out secretly? no, indeed, but let them come themselves and bring us out.

³⁰ and he brought them forth outside and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

³¹ And they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, you and your household.”

³² And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all those in his house.

³³ And he took them along in that same hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he and all his family were baptized.

³⁴ And bringing them up into his house, he set a meal before them; and he rejoiced with his whole house, having believed in God.

³⁵ Now when it became day, the magistrates sent the officers, saying, “Release those men.”

³⁶ And the prison keeper told these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent so that you may be released. Now therefore depart, and go in peace.”

³³ In that same hour of the night he took them aside and washed their wounds, and thereupon he and all his family were baptized.

³⁴ Then he brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he was really rejoicing, having believed in God with his whole family.

³⁵ Now when it was day the magistrates sent the officers saying, “Let those men go.”

³⁶ So the jailer reported these words to Paul, “The magistrates have sent to release you; so now you can leave and go in peace.”

³⁷ But Paul said to them: “After severely beating us in public, although we were uncondemned Romans, they threw us into prison, and now do they toss us out on the sly? No way! Rather, let them come themselves and escort us out!”

²⁶ Suddenly a tremendous earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. Immediately all the doors flew open and everyone's chains fell off.

²⁷ The jailer woke up and saw the doors of the prison wide open. He drew his sword and was about to kill himself, thinking that the prisoners had escaped.

²⁸ But Paul shouted out, “Don't hurt yourself—we're all still here!”

²⁹ The jailer asked for lights to be brought and rushed in. Shaking with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas.

³⁰ He escorted them out and asked them, “Sirs, what do I have to do so I can be saved?”

³¹ “Trust in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your whole household,” they replied.

³² Then they shared the word of the Lord with him and everyone who lived in his house.

³³ Even though it was late at night he bathed their wounds, and he was baptized right away, along with all his family.

³⁴ He took them home and had a meal prepared for them. The jailer and his whole family were full of joy because they trusted in God.

³⁵ Early the next day the magistrate sent officials to the jailer, telling him, “Release those men.”

³⁶ The jailer told Paul, “The magistrates have sent word to release you. So you can leave, and go in peace.”

³⁷ But Paul told them, “They publicly beat us without a trial—and yet we're Roman citizens! Then they threw us in prison. Now they want to quietly let us go? No, they should come themselves and release us!”

²⁶ And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundation of the prison was shaken: and by and by all the doores opened, and euery mans bands were loosed.

²⁷ Then the keeper of the prison waked out of his sleepe, and when he sawe the prison doores open, he drewe out his sword and would haue killed himselfe, supposing the prisoners had bin fled.

²⁸ But Paul cryed with a loude voyce, saying, Doe thy selfe no harme: for we are all here.

²⁹ Then he called for a light, and leaped in, and came trembling, and fell downe before Paul and Silas,

³⁰ And brought them out, and said, Syrs, what must I doe to be saued?

³¹ And they saide, Beleeue in the Lord Iesus Christ, and thou shalt be saued, and thine houshold.

³² And they preached vnto him the worde of the Lord, and to all that were in the house.

³³ Afterwarde he tooke them the same houre of the night, and washed their stripes, and was baptized with all that belonged vnto him, straigthway.

³⁴ And when he had brought them into his house, he set meate before them, and reioyced that he with all his houshold beleeued in God.

³⁵ And when it was day, the gouernours sent the sergeants, saying, Let those men goe.

³⁶ Then the keeper of the prison tolde these woordes vnto Paul, saying, The gouerness haue sent to loose you: nowe therefore get you hence, and goe in peace.

³⁷ Then sayde Paul vnto them, After that they haue beaten vs openly vncodemned, which are Romanes, they haue cast vs into prison, and nowe would they put vs out priuily? nay verely: but let them come and bring vs out.

²⁷ Roused from his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, the Governor drew his sword intending to kill himself, in the belief that the prisoners had escaped.

²⁸ But Paul called our loudly, “Do not harm yourself; we are all here.”

²⁹ Calling for a light, the Governor rushed in, and flung himself trembling at the feet of Paul and Silas.

³⁰ Then he led them out, and said, “What must I do to be saved?”

³¹ “Believe in Jesus, our Lord,” they replied, “and you will be saved, you and your household too.”

³² Then they spoke to him of God's message, and to all his household as well.

³³ And that very hour of the night he took them and washed their wounds, and he himself and everyone belonging to him were baptised without delay.

²⁶ Suddenly there was a very big earthquake. It shook the jail, and even the cement underneath it, and all the doors of the jail swung open, and all the chains fell off the arms and legs of the prisoners.

²⁷ The jail boss woke up and saw that the doors of the jail were open, and he thought, “Those prisoners have all run away. I’m in big trouble.” So he got his big knife to kill himself.

²⁸ Paul saw the jail boss and shouted to him, “Don’t hurt yourself. We are all here.”

²⁹ The jail boss told somebody to bring some lights, then he ran into the jail and got down in front of Paul and Silas, to show them respect. He was very afraid. He was shaking.

³⁰ Then he took Paul and Silas out of the jail and asked, “Sirs, what can I do so that God will save me?”

³¹ They said, “Believe in Jesus, and God will save you. And he will do the same for your family too.”

³² Then the jail boss took Paul and Silas into his house, and washed the sores on their backs, and gave them some food to eat. And Paul and Silas told the message about Jesus to the jail boss and to his family. They all believed in Jesus, and Paul and Silas baptised them. They were all very happy.

³⁵ The next morning the Roman town bosses said to some policemen, “Go and tell the jail boss, ‘You can let those 2 prisoners go now.’” Then the policemen told that message to the jail boss.

³⁶ So the jail boss told Paul, “The town bosses have sent a message telling me to let you and Silas go free. So you can go quietly out of the jail now.”

³⁷ But Paul said to them, “No. Yesterday those bosses didn’t take us to court to find out if we did anything wrong, or not. They just told men to hit us in front of the crowd. Then they put us in jail. But, you see, we are Jews, but we are Romans too. Our names are in the books in the Roman offices. So those bosses broke the Roman law yesterday. And now they want to send us away while nobody is looking. No way. Those Roman bosses have to get up and come to us and tell us that they are sorry, and take us out of this jail.”

²⁶ And sodenly ther was a greate erth quake so that the fonndacion of the preson was shaken and by and by all the dores opened and every mannes bondes were lowsed.

²⁷ When the keper of the preson waked out of his slepe and sawe the preson dores open he drue out his swearde and wolde have kylled him selfe supposynge the presoners had bene fledde.

²⁸ But Paul cryed with a lowde voyce sayinge: Do thy selfe no harme for we are all heare.

²⁹ Then he called for a lyght and sprange in and came tremblynge and fell doune before Paul and Sylas

³⁰ and brought them out and sayde: Syrs what must I do to be saved?

³¹ And they sayde: beleve on the Lorde Iesus and thou shalt be saved and thy housholde.

³² And they preached vnto him the worde of the Lorde and to all that were in his housse.

³³ And he toke them the same houre of the nyght and wasshed their woundes and was baptised with all that belonged vnto him strayght waye.

³⁴ When he had brought them into his housse he set meate before them and ioyed that he with all his housholde beleved on God.

³⁵ And when it was daye the officers sent the ministres sayinge: Let those men goo.

³⁶ The keper of the preson tolde this sayinge to Paul the officiers have sent worde to lowse you. Now therfore get you hence and goo in peace.

³⁷ Then sayde Paul vnto them: they have beaten vs openly vncomdempned for all that we are Romayns and have cast vs into preson: and now wolde they sende vs awaye prevely? Naye not so but let them come the selves and set vs out.

²⁶ Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's chains were unfastened.

²⁷ The jailer was awakened from sleep and saw the open prison doors; he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, because he thought that the prisoners had escaped.

²⁸ But Paul shouted with a loud voice, saying, “Do not harm yourself, because we are all here.”

²⁹ The jailer called for lights and rushed in and, trembling for fear, fell down before Paul and Silas,

³⁰ and brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

³¹ They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your house.”

³² They spoke the word of the Lord to him, together with everyone in his house.

³³ Then the jailer took them at the same hour of the night, and washed their wounds, and he and those in his entire house were baptized immediately.

³⁴ Then as he brought Paul and Silas up into his house and he set food before them, he rejoiced greatly with those of his house, that he had believed in God.

³⁵ Now when it was day, the magistrates sent word to the guards, saying, “Let those men go.”

³⁶ The jailer reported the words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent word to me to let you go. Now therefore come out, and go in peace.”

³⁷ But Paul said to them, “They have publicly beaten us without a trial, even through we are Romans citizens—and they threw us into prison. Do they now want to send us away secretly? No! Let them come themselves and lead us out.”

³⁰ And he brought them withoutforth, and said, Lords, what behooveth me to do, that I be made safe?

³¹ And they said, Believe thou in the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be safe, and thine house.

³² And they spake to him the word of the Lord, with all that were in his house.

³³ And he took them in the same hour of the night, and washed their wounds. And he was baptized, and all his house anon.

³⁴ And when he had brought them into his house, he set to them a board. And he was glad with all his house, and believed to God.

³⁵ And when day was come, the magistrates sent constables, and said, Deliver thou or Dismiss ye those men.

³⁶ And the keeper of the prison told these words to Paul, That the magistrates have sent, that ye be delivered; now therefore go ye out, and go ye in peace.

³⁷ And Paul said to them, They sent us men of Rome into prison, that were beaten openly and uncondemned, and now privily they bring us out; not so, but come they themselves, and deliver us out.

²⁹ And he asked (for) light, and entered in, and trembled, and fell down to Paul and to Silas at their feet.

²⁹ And, having asked for a light, he sprang in, and trembling he fell down before Paul and Silas,

³⁰ and having brought them forth, said, 'Sirs, what must I do — that I may be saved?'

³¹ and they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved — thou and thy house;'

³² and they spake to him the word of the Lord, and to all those in his household;

³³ and having taken them, in that hour of the night, he did bathe them from the blows, and was baptized, himself and all his presently,

³⁴ having brought them also into his house, he set food before them, and was glad with all the household, he having believed in God.

³⁵ And day having come, the magistrates sent the rod-bearers, saying, 'Let those men go;'

³⁶ and the jailor told these words unto Paul — 'The magistrates have sent, that ye may be let go; now, therefore, having gone forth go on in peace;'

³⁷ and Paul said to them, 'Having beaten us publicly uncondemned — men, Romans being — they did cast us to prison, and now privately do they cast us forth! why no! but having come themselves, let them bring us forth.'
