³⁶ And after some days Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us return now and visit the brethren in every city wherein we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they fare.

³⁷ And Barnabas was minded to take with them John also, who was called Mark.

³⁸ But Paul thought not good to take with them him who withdrew from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

³⁹ And there arose a sharp contention, so that they parted asunder one from the other, and Barnabas took Mark with him, and sailed away unto Cyprus:

⁴⁰ but Paul chose Silas, and went forth, being commended by the brethren to the grace of the Lord.

⁴¹ And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

³⁶ And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

³⁷ And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

³⁸ But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

³⁹ And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

⁴⁰ And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

⁴¹ And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

³⁶ After some time Paul said to Barnabas, “Let's go back and visit the fellow believers in every city where we previously proclaimed the message about the Lord Jesus. In that way, we will know how well they are continuing to believe in the Lord Jesus.”

³⁷ Barnabas agreed with Paul, and said that he wanted to take John, whose other name was Mark, along with them again.

³⁸ However, Paul told Barnabas that he thought that it would not be good to take Mark with them, because Mark had deserted them when they were previously in Pamphylia region, and had not continued to work with them.

³⁹ Paul and Barnabas strongly disagreed with each other about that, so they separated. Barnabas took Mark along with him and they got on a ship and went to Cyprus.

⁴⁰ Paul chose Silas, who had returned to Antioch, to work with him. The believers there asked the Lord God to graciously help Paul and Silas. Then the two of them departed from Antioch.

⁴¹ Paul continued traveling with Silas through Syria and Cilicia provinces. In those places he was helping the congregations to trust strongly in the Lord Jesus.

³⁶ After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return now and visit our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing.”

³⁷ Barnabas planned to take John, who was called Mark, with them also.

³⁸ But Paul didn’t think that it was a good idea to take with them someone who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and didn’t go with them to do the work.

³⁹ And there was a sharp argument between them, so that they were parted from one another, and Barnabas took Mark with him and went by ship to Cyprus;

⁴⁰ But Paul took Silas and went away with the blessing of the brothers.

⁴¹ And he went through Syria and Cilicia, making the churches stronger in the faith.

³⁶ But after certain days Paul said to Barnabas, Let us return now and visit the brethren in every city where we have announced the word of the Lord, and see how they are getting on.

³⁷ And Barnabas proposed to take with them John also, called Mark;

³⁸ but Paul thought it not well to take with them him who had abandoned them, going back from Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work.

³⁹ There arose therefore very warm feeling, so that they separated from one another; and Barnabas taking Mark sailed away to Cyprus;

⁴⁰ but Paul having chosen Silas went forth, committed by the brethren to the grace of God.

⁴¹ And he passed through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the assemblies.

³⁶ And after some days, Paul said to Barnabas: Let us return and visit our brethren in all the cities wherein we have preached the word of the Lord, to see how they do.

³⁷ And Barnabas would have taken with them John also, that was surnamed Mark;

³⁸ But Paul desired that he (as having departed from them out of Pamphylia, and not gone with them to the work) might not be received.

³⁹ And there arose a dissension, so that they departed one from another; and Barnabas indeed taking Mark, sailed to Cyprus.

⁴⁰ But Paul choosing Silas, departed, being delivered by the brethren to the grace of God.

⁴¹ And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches, commanding them to keep the precepts of the apostles and the ancients.

³⁸ But Paul considered it fitting not to take along with them the one who withdrew from them in Pamphylia, and who had not gone together with them to the work.

³⁹ Therefore a sharp disagreement arose so that they were separated from one another. And Barnabas, taking along Mark, sailed to Cyprus.

⁴⁰ But Paul, choosing Silas, departed, being given over to the grace of God by the brothers.

³⁸ But Paul didn't think it was a good idea to take him with them, since he'd left them in Pamphylia and hadn't continued working with them.

³⁹ They had such a strong disagreement that they separated. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed to Cyprus.

⁴⁰ Paul chose Silas, and as they left, the believers committed them to the grace of the Lord.

⁴¹ Paul traveled through Syria and Cilicia, encouraging the churches there.

³⁶ But after certaine dayes, Paul said vnto Barnabas, Let vs returne, and visite our brethren in euery citie, where we haue preached the worde of the Lord, and see how they doe.

³⁷ And Barnabas counselled to take with them Iohn, called Marke.

³⁸ But Paul thought it not meete to take him vnto their companie, which departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the worke.

³⁹ Then were they so stirred, that they departed asunder one from the other, so that Barnabas tooke Marke, and sailed vnto Cyprus.

⁴⁰ And Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended of the brethren vnto the grace of God.

⁴¹ And he went through Syria and Cilicia, stablishing the Churches.

³⁷ Barnabas said, “Yes. And let’s take John Mark with us.”

³⁸ But Paul didn’t think that was a good idea. He said, “John Mark went with us before, but he didn’t stay with us. In Pamphylia country he left us and went home.”

³⁹ Paul and Barnabas didn’t agree with each other about Mark, and they had a big argument. They got very upset with each other, so they each went a different way. Barnabas and John Mark got on a ship and went to the island called Cyprus.

⁴⁰ But Paul picked Silas to go with him. The Antioch Christians asked God to look after Paul and Silas, then those 2 men left there and went through Syria and Cilicia countries. In every place Paul talked to the Christians and helped them to be strong for Jesus.

³⁶ But after a certayne space Paul sayde vnto Barnabas: Let vs goo agayne and visite oure brethren in every cite where we have shewed the worde of the Lorde and se how they do.

³⁷ And Barnabas gave counsell to take with them Iohn called also Marke.

³⁸ But Paul thought it not mete to take him vnto their company whiche departed from them at Pamphylia and went not with them to the worke.

³⁹ And the dissencion was so sharpe bitwene them that they departed a sunder one from the other: so that Barnabas toke Marke and sayled vnto Cypers.

⁴⁰ And Paul chose Sylas and departed delyvered of the brethren vnto the grace of god.

(But after some days, Paul said to Barnabas, Let us return, and visit our brothers in all the cities, in which we have preached the word of the Lord, to learn how they be doing.)

³⁷ And Barnabas would take with him John, that was named Mark (or who was called Mark).

³⁸ But Paul prayed him, that he that departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them into the work, should not be received. (But Paul beseeched him, saying that he who had left them at Pamphylia, and did not go with them in the work, should not be taken with them now.)

³⁹ And dissension was made, so that they departed atwain. And Barnabas took Mark, and came by boat to Cyprus.

⁴⁰ And Paul chose Silas, and went forth from the brethren, and was betaken to the grace of God (or and was delivered unto God’s grace).

⁴¹ And he went by Syria and Cilicia, and confirmed the church, commanding to keep the behests or the precepts of the apostles and (the) elder men.

³⁶ and after certain days, Paul said unto Barnabas, 'Having turned back again, we may look after our brethren, in every city in which we have preached the word of the Lord — how they are.'

³⁷ And Barnabas counselled to take with them John called Mark,

³⁸ and Paul was not thinking it good to take him with them who withdrew from them from Pamphylia, and did not go with them to the work;

³⁹ there came, therefore, a sharp contention, so that they were parted from one another, and Barnabas having taken Mark, did sail to Cyprus,

⁴⁰ and Paul having chosen Silas, went forth, having been given up to the grace of God by the brethren;

⁴¹ and he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the assemblies.
