²² And the people shouted, saying, The voice of a god, and not of a man.

²³ And immediately an angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

²⁴ The believers continued telling God's message to people in many places, and ◄ the number of people who believed in Jesus was continually increasing/there were continually more and more people who were believing in Jesus►.

²³ Herod liked their talk. He didn’t tell them that he is only a man, and that God is the great and powerful one. So then one of God’s angels hit Herod to punish him. That angel got worms to eat the inside of Herod’s body, and he died.

²⁴ At the same time the Christians kept on telling everybody about Jesus, so a big mob of people heard God’s word, and a lot of them started to believe in Jesus.
