⁴ And he, fastening his eyes upon him, and being affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are gone up for a memorial before God.

⁵ And now send men to Joppa, and fetch one Simon, who is surnamed Peter:

⁶ he lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side.

⁷ And when the angel that spake unto him was departed, he called two of his household-servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

⁸ and having rehearsed all things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

⁹ Now on the morrow, as they were on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour:

¹⁰ and he became hungry, and desired to eat: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance;

⁴ And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

⁵ And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

⁶ He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

⁷ And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

⁸ And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

⁹ On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

Then he asked fearfully, “Sir, what do you (sg) want?” The angel answered him, “You (sg) have pleased God because you have been praying regularly to him and you often give money to help poor people. Those things have been like a sacrifice to God.

⁵ So, now command some men to go to Joppa and tell them to bring back a man named Simon whose other name is Peter.

⁶ He is staying with a man, also named Simon, who makes leather. His house is near the ocean.”

⁷ When the angel who spoke to Cornelius had gone, Cornelius summoned two of his household servants and a soldier who served him, one who also worshipped God.

⁸ He explained to them everything that the angel had said. Then he told them to go to Joppa to ask Peter to come to Caesarea.

⁹ About noon the next day those three men were traveling along the road and were coming near Joppa. As they were approaching Joppa, Peter went up on the flat housetop to pray.

¹⁰ He became hungry and wanted something to eat. While someone was preparing the food, Peter saw this vision:

⁴ He, fastening his eyes on him and being frightened, said, “What is it, Lord?” He said to him, “Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.

⁵ Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon, who is also called Peter.

⁶ He is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the seaside.

⁷ When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.

⁸ Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

⁶ Who is living with Simon, a leather-worker, whose house is by the sea.

⁷ And when the angel who said these words to him had gone away, he sent for two of his house-servants, and a God-fearing man of the army, one of those who were waiting on him at all times;

⁸ And having given them an account of everything, he sent them to Joppa.

⁹ Now the day after, when they were on their journey and were near the town, Peter went up to the top of the house for prayer, about the sixth hour:

¹⁰ And he was in need of food: but while they were getting it ready, a deep sleep came on him;

⁴ But he, having fixed his eyes upon him, and become full of fear, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thine alms have gone up for a memorial before God.

⁵ And now send men to Joppa and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter.

⁶ He lodges with a certain Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.

⁷ And when the angel who was speaking to him had departed, having called two of his household and a pious soldier of those who were constantly with him,

⁸ and related all things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

⁹ And on the morrow, as these were journeying and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the house to pray, about the sixth hour.

¹⁰ And he became hungry and desired to eat. But as they were making ready an ecstasy came upon him:

⁴ And he, beholding him, being seized with fear, said: What is it, Lord? And he said to him: Thy prayers and thy alms are ascended for a memorial in the sight of God.

⁵ And now send men to Joppe, and call hither one Simon, who is surnamed Peter:

⁶ He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. He will tell thee what thou must do.

⁷ And when the angel who spoke to him was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a soldier who feared the Lord, of them that were under him.

⁸ To whom when he had related all, he sent them to Joppe.

⁹ And on the next day, whilst they were going on their journey, and drawing nigh to the city, Peter went up to the higher parts of the house to pray, about the sixth hour.

¹⁰ And being hungry, he was desirous to taste somewhat. And as they were preparing, there came upon him an ecstasy of mind.

⁴ And looking intently at him and becoming fearful he said, “What is it, lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

⁵ Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter.

⁶ He is staying as a guest with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is beside the sea.”

⁷ Now when the angel who had been speaking to Cornelius had departed, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier from among those who waited on him continually.

⁸ And explaining to them everything, he sent them to Joppa.

⁹ Now on the next day, as they were traveling and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, at about the sixth hour.

¹⁰ And he became hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.

⁴ Well, staring at him and being frightened he said, “What is it, Lord?” So he said to him: “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.

⁵ Now send men to Joppa and summon Simon, who is surnamed Peter;

⁶ he is lodging with one Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.”

⁷ So when the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from among those who were faithful to him,

⁸ and explaining everything to them he sent them to Joppa.

⁹ Now on the next day, as they were traveling and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.

¹⁰ Well he became hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were preparing, a trance fell on him,

⁴ Frightened, Cornelius stared at him and asked, “What do you want, Lord?” “God has paid attention to your prayers, and recognized your generosity to the poor,” he told Cornelius.

⁵ “Now send some men to Joppa, and fetch Simon, also called Peter,

⁶ who is staying at Simon the tanner's house down by the sea-shore.”

⁷ When the angel who had spoken to him had left, Cornelius called in two of his house-servants and a soldier of his personal guard, a religious man.

⁸ After he'd explained to them all that had happened he sent them to Joppa.

⁹ The next day, as they were on their way and approaching the city, Peter went up onto the top of the house to pray. It was about noon,

¹⁰ and he was getting hungry, wanting to eat. But while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance, and

⁴ But when hee looked on him, hee was afrayd, and sayd, What is it, Lord? and he sayd vnto him, Thy prayers and thine almes are come vp into remembrance before God.

⁵ Nowe therefore send men to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter.

⁶ Hee lodgeth with one Simon a Tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to doe.

⁷ And when the Angel which spake vnto Cornelius, was departed, he called two of his seruants, and a souldier that feared God, one of them that waited on him,

⁸ And tolde them all things, and sent them to Ioppa.

⁹ On the morow as they went on their iourney, and drew neere vnto the citie, Peter went vp vpon the house to pray, about the sixt houre.

¹⁰ Then waxed hee an hungred, and would haue eaten: but while they made some thing ready, he fell into a trance.

⁴ And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

⁵ And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

⁴ Cornelius looked at the angel and was afraid of him. He asked him, “What do you want, boss?” The angel said, “Cornelius, God heard you praying and saw you give money and things to the poor people. It is like you gave those things and money to God, so God is thinking about you.

⁵ So send some men to Joppa to find a man called Simon Peter.

⁶ He is staying with a leather worker called Simon. His house is near the sea. Tell your men to get Peter and bring him back to you.”

⁷ The angel finished talking with Cornelius and went away. Then Cornelius called 2 of the men that worked in his house, and one of the soldiers that looked after him. That soldier respected God too.

⁸ Cornelius told them everything that happened and then he told them to go to Joppa and get Peter.

⁹ The next day, about the middle of the day, those men were walking along and getting near to Joppa. At that same time Peter went up on to the flat roof of the house to pray.

¹⁰ He started feeling hungry and he wanted something to eat, but he waited and prayed while the people in the house were getting some food ready. Then Peter had like a dream, but he was still awake.

⁴ When he looked on him he was afrayde and sayde: what is it lorde? He sayde vnto him. Thy prayers and thy almeses are come vp into remembraunce before God.

⁵ And now sende men to Ioppa and call for one Simon named also Peter.

⁶ He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner whose housse is by the see syde. He shall tell the what thou oughtest to doo.

⁷ When the angell which spake vnto Cornelius was departed he called two of his housholde servauntes and a devoute soudier of them that wayted on him

⁸ and tolde them all the mater and sent them to Ioppa.

⁹ On the morowe as they wet on their iorney and drewe nye vnto the cite Peter went vp into the toppe of the housse to praye aboute the .vi. houre.

¹⁰ Then wexed he an hongred and wolde have eate. But whyll they made redy. He fell into a trauce

⁴ Cornelius stared at the angel and was very frightened and said, “What is it, sir?” The angel said to him, “Your prayers and your gifts to the poor have gone up as a memorial offering into God's presence.

⁵ Now send men to the city of Joppa to bring a man named Simon who is called Peter.

⁶ He is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the seaside.”

⁷ When the angel who spoke to him had left, Cornelius called two of his house servants, and a devout soldier from among those who served him.

⁸ Cornelius told them all that had happened and sent them to Joppa.

⁹ Now on the next day at about the sixth hour, as they were on their journey and were approaching the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray.

¹⁰ He then became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while the people were cooking some food, he was given a vision,

⁴ He, fastening his eyes on him and being frightened, said, “What is it, Lord?” He said to him, “Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.

⁵ Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon, who is also called Peter.

⁶ He is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the seaside.

⁷ And when the angel that spake to him, was gone away or had gone away, he called two men of his house, and a knight that dreaded the Lord, which were at his bidding or that obeyed to him.

⁸ And when he had told to them all these things, he sent them into Joppa.

⁹ And on the day pursuing, while they made journey, and nighed to the city, Peter went up into the highest place of the house to pray, about the sixth hour.

¹⁰ And when he was hungered, he would have eaten. But while they made ready, a ravishing of the spirit or an excess of soul felled on him;

⁴ And he beheld him, and was adread (or and was afraid), and said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thine alms-deeds have ascended up into mind, in(to) the sight of the Lord.

⁵ And now send thou men into Joppa, and call one Simon, that is named Peter.

⁶ This is harboured at a man, Simon, (a) currier, or (a) tanner, whose house is beside the sea. This shall say to thee, what it behooveth thee to do.

⁸ And when he had told to them all these things, he sent them into Joppa.

⁹ And on the day (pur)suing, while they made journey, and nighed to the city, Peter went up into the highest place of the house to pray, about the sixth hour. (And on the following day, while they journeyed, and approached the city, Peter went up to the highest place of the house to pray, at about noon.)

¹⁰ And when he was hungered, he would have eaten. But while they made ready, a ravishing of the spirit, or an excess of soul, felled on him;

⁴ and he having looked earnestly on him, and becoming afraid, said, 'What is it, Lord?' And he said to him, 'Thy prayers and thy kind acts came up for a memorial before God,

⁵ and now send men to Joppa, and send for a certain one Simon, who is surnamed Peter,

⁶ this one doth lodge with a certain Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea; this one shall speak to thee what it behoveth thee to do.'

⁷ And when the messenger who is speaking to Cornelius went away, having called two of his domestics, and a pious soldier of those waiting on him continually,

⁸ and having declared to them all things, he sent them to Joppa.

⁹ And on the morrow, as these are proceeding on the way, and are drawing nigh to the city, Peter went up upon the house-top to pray, about the sixth hour,

¹⁰ and he became very hungry, and wished to eat; and they making ready, there fell upon him a trance,
